Didn't the Exosuit also use several illegal techniques?

Star Wars Constraction 2015 Discussion
DraikNova replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Just managed to find Grievous. At $30, no less. I think his popularity has a lot to do with a nostalgia factor, but a different one than normal SW sets, in that he's large enough that he's proportionally the same size as action figures people may have owned when they were little kids. -
Nexo Knights: Merlok 2.0 App Rumours and Discussion
DraikNova replied to Chilly_Productions's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
I seem to have just received another update, but the only things I can find that seem different are the layout of the videos and a single news item. Does anyone know what's changed? -
If you want, I can build a model after Anthony, to finish off the contest.

Basically, this is intended as a general topic for MOCs and concepts of G1 sets redesigned to match the CCBS aesthetic that G2 uses, as suggested in the G2 Bohrok Concepts thread. For the sake of not having duplicate threads, please post Bohrok revamps over there.

Does anyone know when the next series will be available?

I'm telling you, Mushlord's mind control spores are powerful stuff. Also, have a preview of a MOC of mine.

REVIEW: 70324 Merlok's Library 2.0
DraikNova replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I see it as an excellent parts pack (scorpion shield inlay? Yes please. Extra evil book? Yes please), with the relatively mediocre but not outright bad set being just added value. -
Considering that we hadn't had a sci-fi or castle theme for years before Nexo Knights...

[2016 Digital Design Contest] - Comment topic for entries
DraikNova replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Basically, to sum up, try to find the piece on bricklink. If it doesn't exist in that color, then you can either use another piece instead, or you have to use one of your five allowed new recolors. -
[2016 Digital Design Contest] - Comment topic for entries
DraikNova replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Parts in a certain color can only be used if they have already been released in that color. Bricklink is the best guide for this. -
What is wrong with those expressions. Seriously, who the heck designed those? That's a bullseye hit on the Uncanny Valley.
-
Is there any LEGO digital designing program available that allows for reasonably simple addition of custom decals to all parts? I'm trying to decorate parts like 11477.

If she isn't included in the Black Knight set, I hope the book of knights includes the armored version of the queen.

The centipede is probably as good as you can get at that scale, which is to say, approximately 1:1 scale. Maybe you could make the antennae brightly-colored? Some real ones look pretty much like your model, but with the front few segments being entirely red. Anyway, if you ever want to hear someone blather on about insects or other arthropods, you can come to me .

Very nice, and extremely creative parts-wise. I'd just like to note that your mantis seems to be missing its tarsi (basically, if the blades are the palms of the hand, the tarsi are like a single finger placed halfway on the palm). Also, the venomous mouthparts of a centipede are not mandibles; they're maxillae, essentially modified legs. The centipede seems somewhat plain compared to the others, though. Maybe you could build little baby centipedes to accompany it? Centipedes are known to display a remarkable degree of maternal care, after all. Oh, and centipedes are remipedes, not insects.

Ben 10 didn't particularly annoy me. It came out at a time that most of the other sets had equally bad builds, the colors were interesting and I didn't particularly care about the story one way or another. Plus, some of the parts introduced are incredibly useful when building in LDD.

Back-and-forth rotation wheel mechanism
DraikNova posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I've been trying without success to figure out how to make a compact mechanism that translates normal rotation into back-forth rotation. Any thoughts on how to accomplish such a thing? -

Wow. This is an absolutely perfect solution to my problem. Thanks for the help everyone! -
Back-and-forth rotation wheel mechanism
DraikNova replied to DraikNova's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The thing is, I'm trying to get a back-and-forth rotation, not a back and forth linear motion. -
[2016 Digital Design Contest] - Rules, prizes and questions
DraikNova replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Is using arrows edited into the screenshot to indicate functions of models allowed (assuming, of course, that you also provide at least one proper, clear image of the model in question)? -
[2016 Digital Design Contest] - Rules, prizes and questions
DraikNova replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I really want to know what exactly the point of making it a digital designing contest is supposed to be if we can't use one of the prime advantages of digital design, namely the unlimited palette. -
[2016 Digital Design Contest] - Rules, prizes and questions
DraikNova replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
That's strange...I could have sworn the rules were originally different. I mean, considering how many new parts and recolors a given new theme may introduce, isn't that a rather strange rule? Keeping your parts selection to something LEGO would actually do is almost certainly something people would take into account when casting their votes anyway. -
I think it's Mushlord's mind control spores.

[2016 Digital Design Contest] - Rules, prizes and questions
DraikNova replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I've been coming up with a theme concept/spinoff for a while. I guess this is my excuse to polish it and sand down the amount of parts to a reasonable number. Is using a number of small parts as stand-ins for parts not in LDD/new molds allowed?
