    42056 - Porsche Speculation

Really looking forward to a proper review to help me decide. My 8043 and 8110 both came from S@H and they had damaged boxes too with quite a bit of shelf wear.

I think this is $199 right?

I agree! I love reading details from a physical book and it is a great that LEGO/Porsche seemingly went all out in this department. Seeing that the 911 has been in production for over fifty years I really hope we get some of that history in the book.

Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion

I found two boxes at a Walmart, although the one on the left was already missing a handful of figures. The box on the right was unopened on the shelf. I used the bump code chart and for this batch it was spot on. Very happy to have found the ones I wanted most. Mickey Minnie Buzz PP Alien Stitch

Fantastic work! Now why can't we get Ideas sets like this? It would be an instant buy for me too.

    42056 - Porsche Speculation

Having the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction would have sufficed because the car is stationary on a desk anyway. It is one of the main features of the GT3 RS and this set is marketed as being authentic(not to mention 8880 had it). The only similarity it has with the real thing that I can see is the name. No four-wheel steering, wrong suspension and geometry, no center locking rims, wrong color, half a PDK gearbox and the worst part...stickers. It does look nice though and that was obviously the main objective of 42056. Big, orange and expensive it is but Ultimate Technic? No way.

Yes, the GT3 RS is suppose to have four wheel steering just like the Porsche 918 Spyder. I guess this feature was too "authentic" for LEGO and Porsche to care about.

    White is the New Red

I had planned on building Madoca's trophy truck in red but the price of the 32016 connectors nearly gave me a heart attack. I would need twelve of them for a total of $65 : ( It really does feel like I've missed my chance to build this stunning truck in the best color. Building it in white is certainly a possibility but I would rather not spend money on parts that will turn yellow in a few years.

I think it is just a preliminary copy with only Stage 1 of the build visible but repeated many times over.

    42056 - Porsche Speculation

After seeing the final product a few days ago I was very excited about this. I love exotic/sports cars and LEGO Technic, so this should be a holy grail set but after thinking about it I'm not so sure. The price was expected since it is a licensed Porsche product but the value for money really doesn't seem to be there in my opinion. Nothing about this set truly takes Technic to a new level and I feel like we've already seen all it has to offer from the Designer video, unfortunately. - For $300 this car should have all printed pieces, no excuses. I can't wait to see the Porsche badges on the hood, rear cover and brake calipers peeling off after a few years. - No rear-wheel steering? This is a well known feature of the GT3 RS and something that could have been really fun to build and see in action. - I like the color as a LEGO set in general but if the objective was to make it as close to the real thing as possible(which it was) well obviously they failed. The LEGO red looks closer to Lava Orange.

Awesome! It's definitely the GT3 RS, and it is nice to see printed pieces!

Which set gives you the most juice?

42009 for the amount of parts and how much I enjoyed the build. It also looks awesome on the shelf, with a few modifications. 8070 has given me many hours of fun though because I love the big Technic supercars. I've added a manual transmission, working hardtop roof and a V10.

Absolutely wonderful! How do you do it!? A new benchmark in Technic supercars, I think. Wow.

    Problem with Parts Cracking

Part 32184 is the one I have had the most trouble with and nearly all of them in my collection are cracked. Email or call LEGO if you can and let them know. I would also request replacements as this is unacceptable.

Yeah It seems like LEGO models at toy fairs always have areas that are not assembled or displayed correctly. Little details like that matter!

    42056 - Porsche Speculation

I'm thinking this is the new GT2 RS, hence the camouflage. It makes sense as that would be the flagship 911 and it has yet to be revealed.

I'm loving the new tires and the set in general. Awesome colors, functions and design. Where were these tires when the Volvo L350F came out LEGO?! At least I can now replace the crawler tires I currently have on it. Now when can we buy them.
  20. I'm really excited to see these new sets, they all sound very interesting. The one I am most intrigued by though is the Confidential Technic Ultramotive a.k.a. the Porsche As a petrol head this set sounds like a perfect fit and hopefully it doesn't disappoint. I wonder if this set also has new rims/tires? If it is a Porsche I wonder if it might be the rumored production version of the Mission E Concept...Or perhaps McLaren's answer to the Ferrari F12. The BWE sounds monstrous in every way and the Xerion... Lime green, logging crane and new tires. Wow.

    42030 - Volvo L350F Wheel Loader

My L350F had been sitting on the shelf for a few months so I decided to dust it off and take some new photos. I prefer outdoor shoots but it is -5c this time of year Before the shoot I had a go at replicating the proper L350F sloped back and also changed the rear end as I felt that the original was too squared off. I'm also using the Rock Crusher XT 1.9 tires but instead of foam inserts I actually put the included LEGO tires inside for added support. The best mod was adding Efferman's incredible steering system.

So... LEGO sent me another service pack

    LEGO Ideas WALL-E

I received my service pack yesterday and installed the pieces last night. The previous design was very annoying because I would constantly find WALL-E's head flopped backwards even minutes after posing him on my desk due to any small vibration from walking or the local trains.
