  1. Really looking forward to seeing how you progress with this. We need more sedans in Technic!

    F1 2017

To celebrate the new season of Formula 1 and the new cars, I thought I would give my 42000 an update. What started as a small refresh turned into a project The changes: -Chassis w/ simpler DRS controls -Front and rear suspension, wheel hubs -Lower, more sculpted nose -Front and rear wings, diffuser -Removable, one-piece engine cover -Turbo V6 -New mirrors -Perhaps most importantly, the car has proper rake

Thank you! I forgot to mention that the front wing sits exactly one stud above the ground when on a flat surface. It looks like it's touching in some of the photos because of the paper I use for my photo studio. I've been working on a new design but I'm not sure how sturdy it would be in real life.

For sure I honestly had no idea how to implement the swept back design though.

    F1 2017

Definitely, but LEGO has no decent solutions for this. The tires/rims from 8674 are too expensive and never came with black rims. Nothing else would really work. I had hope that the Porsche tires would be staggered width but nope

    F1 2017

Those hideous things...My car is stable enough that it doesn't need one I'm still thinking about adding one though, but I am not sure what to use. I did want to try the Tumbler tires but its such a small opening for the wheel hub that it might be impossible.

[BUG] Navigation in new Technic Forum

Yep, same issue here. Very annoying bug.
  9. I was dusting off my 8070 Supercar set today and noticed that every 32184 included in the set had cracked, and all in the same place. These parts have never been under stress as the car just sits on my shelf. The parts do not feel brittle nor are they discolored. I have contacted Lego for replacements but I'm far more concerned about why this happened in the first place. The temperatures here in New York are not that extreme, albeit a little dry in the winter, and I have never experienced this before.

    42030 - Volvo L350F MODs and Improvements

I was able to leave the set partially together while adding Efferman's mod but it took me a few hours to get everything figured out Take your time and keep looking at the LXF file. It was easier for me to include the mod after building the set, instead of adapting it during the building process if that makes any sense. This mod is absolutely worth the effort and transforms this set in my opinion. I added the file to my Bricksafe page in case anyone needs another source: The LDD license error happens to me every time I do a new installation. When the program asks for the license, locate the RL278-1000.lic file within C:/Program Files(x86)/LEGO Company/LEGO Digital Designer

    Technic 2017 Set Discussion

I seen 42057 and 42060 at a TRU here in NY today as well. Still no Porsche and no CLAAS Xerion.

    Technic 2017 Set Discussion

The BMW looks a bit sparse but still my top set for 1H2017. It is a bit off topic, but why is the Porsche not available in stores like TRU here in the U.S.? I have had two 20% off coupons for use in-store and literally the only thing I want there I can't buy

Same for me on iPhone and Windows.
  14. The addition of working steering completely changes my opinion of this set. It looks so much better, nicely done!

I think they are both awesome! They remind me of something Rinspeed might build.

Can you please share how you attached the tile? Every solution I have tried in LDD is terrible :D

    [VIDEO REVIEW] 21307 - Caterham Seven 620R

The set and features would be nice at $50 or so, but $80?! That's quite a hefty sum to pay for a set with well under the usual 1,000 piece mark I think. It does look good though. A shame that the steering was removed for production as that was one of the features that got my interest. It's surprising how often steerable wheels will add to display possibilities. The review was great though!

    Porsche Pricing & Availability

Nice to see it in stock at S@H, but it's just too pricey. It is so difficult as a petrol head to not add to cart and checkout.

    42054 - Claas Xerion 5000 Trac VC

The real question is if/when can we buy them? Hopefully they are not part of the licensing deal

Soft tires? That doesn't bode well for using them as 42030 replacement tires I guess, especially with the heavy rear end.

Which set do you love to rebuild, and why?

I spent the past few days taking 8043 apart, washing, and re-assembling. It was my second set after emerging from the dark ages and although I enjoyed building it back then, it was even better the second time now that I can appreciate and understand the design. The chassis has always bugged me because of the forward facing drive gears and the easiest solution is to flip both sides around instead of rotating the chassis 180°. Why I didn't think of this sooner is beyond me. It has also sparked my interest in making it an Ultimate 8043 but the Li-Po battery box kills it. If I can find a way to squeeze in the AA box I may give it a go.

    8070 Spider

The 8070 is a great set and my first large Technic build in over ten years, but this car was meant to have an open top! Changes include: -Folding top -Headlight clusters moved inward -Panels added to engine cover -Functional steering wheel(HoG still works as well) -Mirror positions changed -Front fender panels were moved inward -Seats angles were changed -Dash has added pieces for gauges and it now supports the windshield frame -Exhausts were changed to follow the rear panel lines -I still need to buy a few extra pieces to finish the top of the windshield section. I'd also like two extra shocks so I can cut down the spring size so the front can sit lower. Feel free to share any critiques or advice! I'm just getting back into the Lego world and I appreciate any help. Justin
