    [MOC] Frog King

With the introduction of Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi in the LEGO Movie 2 sets, LEGO produced a nice new part; a pearl gold crown. At first, I didn't think too much of it. Or at least, that was until I came across Jason Pyett's Magic Circle technique. Thanks to a bit of inspiration from the Efteling (a Dutch theme park which is all about fairytales), I immediately thought of a lillypad with a frog king on top of it. And with Jason's circle technique, I could perfectly execute my plans. I immediately began building at the end of April/beginning of May and after about 2 months, His Amphibic Highness is sitting quietly between the cattails. I hope you find him as majestic as I do. [MOC] Frog King

Thanks for the compliments. The way I built the water was actually a money saving necessity. As trans-light blue 1x4 bricks without tubes (part nr 3066) were too expensive and too scarce to get, I had to order about 200 1x2 plates to put the water together. I'm glad you like it as such.

    [MOC] Frog King

Thank you for the honor, Mister Phes. It's very much appreciated. I haven't read any books about frog magic, so I don't really know. Though I imagine the Frog King to be wanting a Frog Queen by his side, so I guess that's what may or may not happen.

    [MOC] Frog King

Thanks for the kind words. The crown can be found in set 70824 Introducing Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi, 70820 The LEGO Movie 2 Movie Maker, 70838 Queen Watevra's 'So-Not-Evil' Space Palace, Queen Watevra's Build Whatever Box! and some sort of Polish magazine. The cloak is from some old Belville sets, in particular set 5812 King and 5808 The Enchanted Palace. I hope this helps.
  6. It's from set 76134 Spider-Man: Doc Ock Diamond Heist.
  7. I think it looks great. Nice job on the interior. Do you mean this part and then 4 of them put together?

    [MOC] Brick Bridge

In 2017, when LEGO presented the world with set 70922 Joker Manor, almost the entire AFOL community was crazy about the new coastertracks in this set. Finally, people could build the craziest rides for their theme parks. As I didn't see any other applications for these parts, I didn't dwell on them for long. Until images of 75889 Ferrari Ultimate Garage leaked and I got to thinking: if these rails can be used to make a finishline, can you also build other bow-like things with them? Could be a fantastic MOC if done right. So I ordered a tan baseplate, 4 railcurves, 3 roadtiles and a lot of dark tan slopes in different sizes and I got to building. What ultimately led to this MOC. I hope you like it as much as I do. Brick Bridge by TAFOL, on Flickr You can view more pictures on my Brickshelf and/or on my Flickr. And please like and share this MOC on Facebook.

    Harry Potter 2018 - Rumors & Discussion

That snake mold originates from the Ninjago Hands of Time theme, of which there's a couple of sets including them.

    [MOC] Nice Ice

Sometimes I come across parts of which I think: "Hey, you can do so much more with those instead of using them for that specific purpose where they were made for." So when I saw the cloud tile pieces from the Unikitty! Collectible Blind Bags, I didn't think about condensated water high in the sky. Instead, I thought about a big bowl of ice with a heavy dose of whipped cream on top. With the help from a tutorial video on YouTube, I managed to create scoops of ice and a glass made from the large panel pieces from the Ship in a Bottle set was easily constructed. A little bit of Bricklinking later and eventually this MOC was born. I hope it looks as tasteful to you as it does to me. You can view a full set of photos of this MOC on my Brickshelf. 11. I guess he means the Harry Potter sets?
  12. When the 'So long for sunny days'-challenge on Lowlug was announced, I immediately thought about combining LEGO's currently most populair theme with a slew of sets that, in the Netherlands at least, are being sold on the secondhand market for less than a few cents and thus wasn't so popular after all by the majority. A combination Brickheadz-Bionicle, so to speak. As soon as I got that idea down, I remembered an old promotional video from 2001 that had the Toa Mata Tahu surfing over lava and molten rocks inside a volcano, which I wanted to recreate. So I grabbed some bricks, order a lot of trans-orange parts from Bricklink and after 2 months of building, I now proudly present my MOC: Because I had to combine Bionicle with Brickheadz, the official head of Tahu had to be replaced by a brickbuild Brickheadz-ified version. And as cherry on top, I constructed a fitting mask that is only attached to the head by 1 stud. And of course I wanted the lava, just like in the real world, to glow. Fortunately I could borrow 50 trans-orange Light Stax 2x4 bricks from a fellow Lowlug-member, all of which I built into this model. And let me say, in real life, the lighting effects are even more astounding. You can view a full set of photos of this moc on my Brickshelf. And don't forget to like and share this MOC on Facebook.

Yes I did. Didn't know it was a fake until I read the comments. Sorry for the misinformation.

    Lego BrickHeadz 2018 - Rumors & Discussion

Has anyone seen the limited edition Bob Ross Brickheadz on instagram yet? I quite like the use of the yellow hand fan as a painting knife and the inclusion of the easel. And I absolutely love that they recolored part 99780 (Bracket 1x2-1x2 Inverted) in tan.
  15. Is that the same polar bear as in set 60036 Arctic Base Camp or is that a different polar bear? I'm curious if they have the same print or an entirely different print.

    Discussion: LEGO Architecture 2018

21041 Great Wall of China & 21042 Statue of Liberty have been revealed on Brickset (link and link). Though I like that 2 (or more) Great Wall sets can be connected to each other, I'm much more impressed with the Statue of Liberty as a whole. 21042 is definitely going on my shopping list, that's for sure.
  17. New poster for Incredibles 2: The bad guy looks like a character from Shane Acker's 9. Also, I'm curious about the super heroes/villains in the backgrond (one of them looks like Vulture from Spiderman).

I don't see anything on the LEGO website. Do you maybe have a link to the page you're talking about, Falconfan1414?
  19. When I purchased set 10257 Carousel last month, I wanted to give this magnificent set a permanent spot in my living room. However, I felt there was something missing from the original set. For example, where could amusement park visitors wait while their children and/or friends took a ride on the merry-go-round? In the past, I had already put set 10247 Ferris Wheel on a 48x48 baseplate. With this carousel, however, I had much more space to include benches and trees. So I got to building and, especially after I saw a tree technique involving part 32607 on Lowlug, I found a way to make the end result much more beautiful. Here's a close up of one of the trees: I hope you enjoy my modification of set 10257. Please let me know what you think about it. You can view a full set of photos of this MOC on my Brickshelf. Marvel Superheroes 2018 - Set Discussion

Just came across this on Hellobricks: I don't know exactly what it says in the text, but I like that the Sanctum can be incorporated with the other modulars like this.

    21314 - LEGO® TRON: Legacy

Any guesses on the price for this set? As there are probably 2 light cycles and 3 minifigures included, my prediction would be around $30,-/$35,-.

    Harry Potter 2018 - Rumors & Discussion

I thought the cone piece that's encircled in red in the image above was 4x2x6 (Bricklink) and comes in the Disney Princess sets 41152 and 41154? As Anio pointed out already, it's the cone on top of the main tower, just below the cone 2x2x2, which does seem to have the dimensions of 4x2x4 and is indeed new for the second half of this year.
