42054 - Claas Xerion 5000 Trac VC
Johnny P replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I really like this set and it is a must buy for me. especially the tires are great. A pendular axle is no suspension , its just a way to make sure all wheels have contact with the ground. And i own a Massey ferguson tractor 6270 and it has a pendular axle in the front that also is suspended. It has hydraulic pistons and some sort of gas that can be compressed. and with a switch inside the cabine you can turn the suspension off for use with equipment in the field. When i drive on road, even with attachments in the front and/or back the suspension works. -

Johnny P replied to Saberwing40k's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
earlier today i had the pleasure of providing fuel to such a beast that was installing a windmill. mighty big machine. each outrigger weight 13tons on its own. it has 190tons counterweight stacked on the back of it. but the one i fueled up had a lattice boom of appoximatly 110meter and oja it has 4 fueltanks with a total off just under 2000 liter. building it in lego is gooiing to be hard. grtz johnny -
[HELP] Pivots - axles or pins?
Johnny P replied to Captainowie's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Imo there is no General rule for pin or axle. It al depends on the situation. But most of the times an axle is stronger, but not always better. -

[WIP] What should I build from this?
Johnny P replied to Dion's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
the way that the outriggers work on the tow truck is actually an easier system than what we usually see in lego. might use the idea some time in the future. -

Minifig Scaled RC Truck
Johnny P replied to tibivi's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I saw him drive it around the other day and i must say that its more off a race truck if you would put it in a city layout. Its really fun to watch. and it is indeed a sturdy little build. And the return to center is also great. Well done . Grtz Johnny -
