Moose Monument by Dmitriy and Anna, on Flickr At the confluence of the Kamenka and Iseti rivers near the city of Kamensk-Uralsky in the 1980s, a sculpture was installed - a metal Moose. The author of the monument is the artist and sculptor Vladimir Permyakov. The idea for this sculpture was suggested to him by chance – one day, in the late 1970s, a real moose wandered into the city. The monument was erected on the rocky shore of the river Iset. Now it is the territory of Razgulyevsky Forest Park, where iron ore was mined during the formation of the Kamensky Plant. Initially, the sculpture was silver in color. It has been repainted four times in 40 years. The moose turned gray, pink, spotted. Today, its main color has become orange. I am glad that you noticed this, @ExeSandbox. I have tried many different techniques for the rock. And stopped at simple bricks to emphasize the contrast between the sculpture and the base. And I also wanted to show that this work is assembled from lego, since in the place where it is exhibited, the audience is mostly not familiar with this kind of art. Thank you, for the comment.

It is a model of Holy Trinity Cathedral in a scale 1:180. The cathedral was built in 1813. A few years later, it had to be reconstructed, because there was a threat of collapse of the new bell tower. The project was undertaken by the famous Ural architect Mikhail Pavlovich Malakhov and the church was rebuilt. The general tonality of the whole structure put the Holy Trinity Church on a par with the best works of cult architecture of the first half of the XIX century, not only in the Urals, but throughout Russia. This MOC is based on my favorite winter cartoon “Father Frost and the Gray Wolf” One of the most memorable episodes when farther Frost easily slides on skis through the winter forest. And to make it more interesting, I decided to build not just a figure, but a kinetic sculpture. In general, kinetic art in Lego is very widely represented and I have long wanted to try myself in this area. After a short search I have found skier by JK Brickworks However, the style of movement of the Canadian skier is fundamentally different from the style of father Frost. The first one's movement of the arms and legs is short and rhythmic, then the second one's is more in amplitude. And this means that it is impossible to take and repeat the finished mechanism - it is necessary to develop a fundamentally different way. After several experiments, I drew attention to this detail Fortunately, I had two of them, and the mechanism acquired its final form: Father Frost: Kinetic Sculpture by Dmitriy and Anna, on Flickr Here, the rotation of the handle, through a system of gears, sets in motion the elementary mechanism for converting rotational motion into translational, which moves the rack and pinion gear. The main idea is to synchronize two racks through a gear, which simultaneously transmit rotation to the upper gear system, simulating the movement of the hands. Gear ratios were selected in such a way as to closely match the movements of the hero. Below you can see the result. Chort by Dmitriy and Anna, on Flickr Chort is considered to be a demon of total evil, with a human body, goat legs and a beard, covered with black hair, he has horns and a long tail. These demons have tremendous magical powers. Their favorite activity is to seduce people and drive them crazy, forcing them to renounce righteous life. Chorts rule people when they decide to act dishonestly. Gambling, alcohol, drugs, cigarettes - these are the tools that evil use to destroy a person. Ultimately, the goal of the chort is to get the human soul. For this, a contract is made and signed in blood. According to the contract, the demon fulfills a certain desire of a person; in return, the person voluntarily surrenders his soul after a certain time has passed. In the performance of their part of the contract, the demons show remarkable ingenuity and talent. They are sensitive to human weaknesses and are able to grope an approach to any person, offering wealth and power to ones, health and longevity to the seconds, fame and recognition to the others. There is no way to terminate the contract with the chort. Usually they are arriving to the people in a state of altered consciousness when the human mind is most vulnerable. Therefore, to avoid encounters with demons will only help a healthy lifestyle and the rejection of alcohol and drugs.
