I shall be looking forward to seing your work on the environment as much as your boy will be to get to play with it! ;) And don't worry about creativity - give it a go, if you get a good idea! That's what I have done, at least! :D

Poor boy not being allowed to play with daddy's toys! ;) Maybe when he grows up a bit? I shall look forward to seeing more. I a curious as to how much you are thinking to build and design yourself. Do you plan on sticking to the official sets, or will we see some personal creations in between?

    WIP: Medieval village church

Thank you for comments and suggestions. Its nice to get some feedback! :) A bit of a change in roof type on the tower. Might make the little spires and the roof plate black instead of grey. The church seems to have been left in disrepair, and the cemetary is overgrown. Fortunately, we've got people working on fixing it all up, including movers carrying heavy stuff into the church. Maybe some treasure or relic for the vault? :O And due to recent complaints from the local community, the newly appointed pastor hired someone for cleaning the bricks! ;) (Btw, any good tips on cleaning old bricks?) Best regards Bregir

    WIP: Medieval village church

Greetings, builders! There are so many great creations in here, and one can only inspire to such skills! None the less, I will venture to share some of my latest work. I have taken up the lego's again, and it is a great relaxation after a long day at work :) I am currently working on a small, medieval inspired church that will fit in between the modulars.I am not sure it itself can be termed a modular as such, as it does not really come apart to show the interiors (yet). Below is a shot from the roadside. Initially, I wanted the tower to be on this side, but I decided against it, as it would hide the rest of the building and complicate having both an entrance and a staircase to the tower in the same space. The cemetary is far from done, and I just added a few "graves" to test out the space. I would love to have some suggestions for that part, if any of you have some good ideas. And next a picture from the opposite site. I have added a bit of green, trying to make it a bit rustique. I imagine some moss and ivy and such would grow on these old stones in the shady areas behind the church. As you see, the tower ends a bit abrupt, as I haven't finished it yet. I am still in doubt as to how I will continue here. I have build the tower up to the final plaftform with a spiral staircase as seen below. The plan is to put in a bell and some windows, but I am still considering how to go forward with that. The spiral stairs reach all the way down into the church as seen below with the tower removed. I haven't included anything in terms of interiors for the time being, but its the plan to do so at some point. Any comments, ideas or suggestions are welcome. At your service Bregir

    More ships for the fleet!

I am very impressed! And as a big fan of the "Master and Commander Series" of books, I must say, I find this a great representation of the age of tall ships - yet you still managed to give it that "Lego-y" feel, that it would fit with the minifigs :) Double ration of grog for you, good sir! Lovely! And I like the fountain too - Seems to me like a funny take on Fontena de Trevi in Rome, with the adventurers instead of mythical creatures and goods :)

    Castle - WIP

Nice castle :) I like the drawbridge with the chains. And is that a working portcullis? :) I've got two suggestions though. 1) Its very "sqaury" - Have you considered trying your skills with a round or hexagonal tower or so? Maybe the small rear tower? 2) The gatehouse/tower is very slim, when viewed from the side. I think I would make it bigger to make it seem more like a sturdy bastion, protecting the gate. Personally, I quite like the colours. They make it seem less "perfect" and more realistic to me. Brick on! :) Bregir

    WIP: Medieval village church

Work has continued on the church, and I have now "finished" the tower. I am not entirely satisfied that the roof should be a spire rather than a flat type "balcony" roof, but I think it turned out ok. I have also made some minor adjustments to the pillars at the entrance. (They are now almost entirely round.) As requested, I have changed the colour of the roof to black. However, since the tower got so tall, the low roof of this type makes the building look a bit... "overtowered"? :P I also tried with my initial rooftype, now in black, and I feel it makes the tower look more harmonious, but I would like your input on the roof options! :) I also put in a bell in the tower (And it swings! :) ). Again, I am not too overjoyed about its design. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks for watching - and for the comments! :) Bregir out

    WIP: Local supermarket

Oh, yes the lamp posts - I should have removed those before taking the pictures - They were parked there temporarily for convenience ;) Thank you for your kind words - and yes, a mini-mart was the word I was looking for! ;) I will return to this project when the church is closer to finished. May the bricks be with you

    WIP: Local supermarket

Hi all I have been working on a small supermarket, and so far, I think it turned out alright. Unfortunately, I am at my wits end, as to what to put on top of it. So far, I have only built a small staircase. Not sure if I want to keep it. I was thinking to add a small office, or perhaps a penthouse with a balcony or something but I haven't agreed with myself about that yet. All ideas and suggestions are welcome. In front of the supermarket I have built an ATM and a small hook for the dogs. The supermarket has sliding doors, which actually turned out better than I expected. So far, I have put in a few interior details, but nothing spectacular. In the back, there is a big oven for freshly baked bread. Thank you for looking. All comments are welcome! Best regards Bregir

    WIP: Medieval village church

Thank you - and good point about the roof. Just made a quick experiment with some blue railroad crossing bricks. I am still not sure what I think of it myself :) Apart from the colours, which I believe could be a copper roof, it also makes the tower stand out more, as it is lower. I shall be looking forward to seeing your church too! :)
