    Cataloguing your collection

Another idea is to use Bricklink. If you already have an account as a buyer, set yourself up as a seller, very simple. All you have to do then is upload your sets to your store, making sure you have the stockroom flag set, so your sets are not visible to buyers. Once all your sets are loaded you can then look in your store inventory and see all your parts. You can also use the "My Remarks" field to enter details such as location.

    Dark med flesh Pet shop

Thats a nice restrained colour scheme. The shop front is just crying out for a storename using the new Business Card set. Very good MOC, looks like your butcher is waiting for the shopfitters to fit out his shop ready for business. Calv

    850425: Desk Business Card Holder

I picked up 1 of these sets in Manchester today, UK price is £11.99. The letter tiles should be useful for Modular storefronts etc.

Where to buy Lego in London?

John Lewis in Oxford Street has a good selection of lego at normal prices and a small pick a brick wall. probably the best place in the West End itself. The 2 Westfield lego stores mentioned are both worth a visit as they both have PaB walls, and the selection does vary between both stores. If you do buy PaB from one store, empty the cups into a bag then you have empty cups for the second visit, saving you 75p per cup!! Every little helps!! Hope this helps Calv
  5. I was skimming through the Brickset forum on Friday morning and saw a post about 10188 Death Star with approx 100EUR off the price from Amazon Italy. I rather fancied this set and the discount was the icing on the cake. Once on the site I saw some other bargains and finished up with a 10188 Death Star, a 10231 Space Shuttle and 2 Winter Village sets and a Creator Lighthouse for a total of 520 EUR including 7 EUR shipping this lot to England. Credit card was crying in pain by this time!! I chose delivery to work as its easier than replanning home deliveries once they've found nobody in and taken the parcel back! Arrived at work this morning (Tuesday) to find a card from City Link who had tried to deliver a parcel at 08:30!! Oh No, just what I was trying to avoid. Luckily the courier came back mid-morning and I took delivery of a gigantic box with all my sets in. Everything was neat and tidy and I was very happy! 48 working hours shipping from order to delivery for 7 EUR and about 200 EUR off RRP is certainly a deal worth having. Even though the order had gone to Amazon Italy the goods had been dispatched from Amazon in Scotland. I could see this from the return address on the box. So I am very happy with the results of my shopping. The instruction manual for the Death Star must be the biggest ever in the Lego range at 261 A3 pages!! Looking forward to building it up soon. I think I might hold onto the Winter village sets until winter though!! Seems strange buying Winter sets in mid summer but at least I now have 2 out of the 3. Just the Toy Shop to get now (Amazon did not have that one). Calv
  6. I have seen a date of July 1 on a lego press release. Stores mentioned were Argos, Toys r Us, John Lewis, W H Smith, Smyths Toys and Lego stores, there are others but these are the ones I can remember. In London you have 2 Lego stores both at Westfield shopping centres (the one at Stratford is only a Javelins throw from the Olympic Park). There is also a John Lewis and a WH Smith in Westfield Stratford. There is a John Lewis in Oxford Street London. Toys r Us, other John Lewis,Argos & WH Smith stores are all over the country. There is also an Official Olympic Shop in Westfield Stratford but I'm not sure if they will stock the figs. I suspect not. Hope this helps Calv
  7. Well, after a long day yesterday driving a 50 year old bus around the West Midlands I failed to get up in time so didn't make the event. Did anybody else make it, and how did it go? Calv
  8. According to some of the comments on the Brick Fanatics page a VIP card should do, and you need to be over 18. Other than that, just turn up. Calv
  9. http://brickfanatics.co.uk/afol-shopping-day/ I've just seen this over on BrickFanatics.co.uk For an hour on Sunday morning the UK Lego Stores at Bluewater,Westfield,Stratford,Liverpool and Milton Keynes (and the Copenhagen store) will be opening early especialy for AFOL's with a 15% discount to tempt us! Text below borrowed from Brick Fanatics: Some awesome news for UK and Denmark AFOLs. DrDave Watford the Brickset LEGO Ambassador has informed us that there will be an AFOL shopping day for the UK (& for Copenhagen….) on Sunday 3rd June. Basically, the Brand Stores will open an hour earlier than usual as above and only AFOLs will be admitted during this time (there’ll be someone on the door letting people in and out). The discounts will only be in force for the first hour; once that hour passes, the stores will be open to all, and the discount will be over. Where & When Bluewater, Liverpool, Brighton, Cardiff, Milton Keynes 10am – 11am Westfield, Stratford 11am – 12 mid-day Copenhagen 5.00pm – 6.00pm What is the deal? AFOLs will get an exclusive 15% discount on all articles in the store except for already discounted articles, gift certificates and books. This is only available for consumers, i.e. no retail (reselling not allowed) and hence items will only be sold in amounts for end consumers. Please be aware that Exclusive sets are limited to 5 per person. You cannot reserve any products in advance. So it will probably be a trip to Milton Keynes on Sunday to pick up a Sopwith Camel, another Grand Emporium and they may well have some new Star Wars sets on display, as they have appeared on Shop at Home today. My credit card is quivering already!! Apologies if this is in the wrong place but I thought it should be brought to your attention. Calv

    REVIEW: 3179 Repair Truck

Thank you for bringing this review back to my attention. I had seen this model on various town layouts and thought I must get one, but never got around to it. Anyway, after reading the excellent review I went on to that well-known auction site and found a brand new one on buy-now at a good price just 5 miles/8 km away. Collected it last night and have already built it up. A lovely little model and my thanks to the reviewer and member who brought the thread back from the archives. Calv

    UK Sales

I was in my local T K Maxx tonight and found some Lego on sale! I've never seen it in there before apart from the DK books occasionally (normally with the minifigs missing!) Picked up a 2519 Ninjago set for £19.99 and 7789 Lotso's dump truck for £9.99. I've read elsewhere that 2519 was a Toys R Us exclusive so perhaps they have some surplus stock to shift? I dont suppose it will be around for long but it may be worth a check. Both sets have a decent part-out value on Bricklink for the minifigs so I'm quite happy! There was another Toy Story set in there but I cant remember the number I'm afraid. Calv
