Have you ever bought LEGO in "secret"? For example, your parent or partner forbid you from buying more LEGO so you did it anyway without them knowing. I've bought minifigs while conviently "forgetting" to mention the purchases. And it looks like you guys hide your purchases from your wives all the time! Share your experiences/stories!

Best/Worst designed licenced minifigure ever?
purpleparadox replied to Santaduckz's topic in LEGO Licensed
It's hard for me to pick just one best and worst, so I'll judge based on the minifigures for entire themes. Best: Lord of the Rings!! Worst: Speed Racer. -
That's brilliant! As a pianist myself, I love it.
-
Fantastic! It looks so real. You combined two of my favourite things - LEGO and music!

LEGO Design Team – Open Call For Theme Ideas!
purpleparadox replied to Masked Builder's topic in General LEGO Discussion
This is what's beginning to confuse me, and apparently a few others. As far as I can tell, there is no "winner". This is not a contest.TLG is simply asking for ideas. You have every right to submit them, and you also have every right to hold them back. The point is simply that TLG wants to know which kind of products we, some of their consumers, would like to see. Do you want your ideas to be reality, on the shelves? That's what this is all about. They might use multiple ideas that get sent in. They might use none. It depends how feasible our wishes are. Not everything in life has to be a contest. We can do things for the prize called happiness. -

Cool! I want to break the mould, so to speak, with the idea I enter. No Classic Pirates/Castle...I want something completely new! -

I saw Frankenweenie...it was actually a lot better than I expected! The animation was done really well. -
Wow! I hope someday I can MOC as creatively as you, cuz you're MOCs always blow me away. I love the panda and the spaceship.

Cool! They are nice sets, but not quite worth buying for me. Thank goodness - it'll save me quite some money. Almost ready to make my 2013 shopping list! -
This is one of my favourites of all the MOCs I've ever seen. So realistic, so beautiful, so detailed.
-
Fantastic MOC, and such a clever idea! You always seem to have beautifully creative builds.

I totally agree! I know the older range of LEGO fans could make a line like that worth it. And I don't know if I was a strange child or what, but when I was young a series like that would've enthralled me. Then again, CMFs weren't even around back then. -
Beautiful MOC, 'specially the woodwork and stonework. I love the steam effect, though I do agree that mixing it with some other colours could improve it even more.
-
I completely agree. The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings are both stunning lines. I'll be sure to get all of the sets!

Creations for Charity sale starts!

I think I'll have to be purchasing at least one item...and maybe one of those magnets, too. It all looks so fantastic! And for such a great cause. -
I kind of agree...I definitely don't want a Wreck It Ralph line though. I love licensed themes (more-so than in-house themes) but I don't want TOO many lines with weirdly shaped or weirdly printed figs as a result of the CGI, like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Clone Wars.
