I saw that one kicking around my Wal-Mart...what're your thoughts on the set? Worth the buy?

Should Friends have it's own Sub-Forum?
purpleparadox replied to LegoCityMann's topic in Forum Information and Help
I'm fine with where Friends is at the moment - but I do see the reason in it having it's own forum/subforum. Since we have confirmation that Friends will be a long-running theme, I guess a subforum in the Town forum makes sense. Friends is obviously becoming very popular...maybe for the sake of organization it should have a new home. I'm sure the Staff know what they're doing. They'll make the right decision! -
My local Wal-Mart finally stocked 6865 Captain America's Avenging Cycle, so that's what I bought. Cap's shield is fantastic!
-
Cool idea! I mean, I'd prefer it to be Superhero or LOTR themed, but...it's built great! Now I want a LEGO clock, too!
-
Ehhh...I don't think the large map will be a problem. The LEGO Batman 2: DC Superheroes map was huge, and I've run into very few problems.
-
At the moment, I love the licensed themes! Seeing such iconic characters, vehicles, and locations made into LEGO is almost heart-warming. I think it's great that kids can build and play out scenes from their favourite book/movie/comic/show. And having characters they already recognize and love is a gateway into building their own creations.

Hooray! Bear Traps! Bear Traps, Bear Traps...Bear Traps! Now sold...individually! Great to see 'em released seperately. -
Happy Birthday, Cecile! Looks like you've already got a lot of cakes, so how 'bout this song? Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Cecilllllllle, Happy Birthday to you!

I'll be looking forward to seeing how TMNT sets turn out (if the rumour is true). I used to love the action figures...a lot of nostalgia is being stirred up in me right now. Only problem is, I don't have the money to spare on the Ninja Turtles! I suppose waiting and seeing is our only option right now.

Awesome work. You really are brilliant with digital renders!

Count me in! This'll be fun. My goal is to build a better MOC than the one I built for the Ep.II CB. -

I'm proud to own the wavy Canada flag! The only problem...it's chewed by a dog. -
SoF - "The Misery Machine" Apocalypse Scooby Doo!
purpleparadox replied to Hammerstein NWC's topic in LEGO Town
Well that's certainly a...dark idea. But the "Misery Machine" is built very well! The colours are good for the Friends theme, and it looks sturdy and compact enough to hold up against monsters. Nice work on the figures, by the way! -
Okay...now I want a pair. A lot. Where'd you get it?
-
A conveyor-belt-pet-wash...what an interesting idea! Good work on the light blue/white/yellow colourscheme. EDIT: By the way, where'd you get your avatar picture? I like the art style.
-
And I'll second that statement! Thanks a ton!!
-
Well, I'm sure glad you gave the landscaping a try! It's beautiful. The trees are wonderful and I love the flowers, bushes, and shrubs on the ground.
-
Well-designed! While the scale may be a bit off, it's still closer than TLG's official model. Also, you've got more accurate colours! Not that I have anything against TLG or their version of the set. They're heavily restricted by needing to make the model sell.
