  1. Speaking of absent wheel and tire elements, there are no street/racing tires that fit on 44772 (Wheel 56mm D. x 34mm Technic Racing Medium) in LDD--only off-road tires. Therefore, I wish for: 44771 Tire 68.8 x 36 ZR 56907 (x1825) Tire 81.6 x 36 R Technic Straight Tread In addition, there are no tires at all that fit 2903 (Wheel 81.6 x 15 Motorcycle), so I want: 6596 Tire 81.6 x 14.2 Motorcycle Z Racing Tread 2902 Tire 81.6 x 15 Motorcycle While not absolutely necessary, this classic wheel and tire pair would also be nice to see in LDD: 2998 Wheel 81.6 x 34 Six Spoke 2997 Tire 81.6 x 34 ZR Technic Straight Tread -Toa Of Justice

    Daniela Capricorn

April 18, 2012: Version 2.0 is up. Scroll down or click here to go to the post. One day, I suddenly got a ton of inspiration to attempt to build Daniela Capricorn in LDD. Every part of her body presented a challenge to build accurately, especially the head and upper torso. I realize the head may seem a little big, but it was the only way I knew how to make it properly detailed. Also, I believe the feet are inaccurate, but I only had this picture with them showing, so I decided to be creative and give her high heels, which look similar to her real feet. Anyway, here are pictures. Click any picture to enlarge it. In addition, I have some interior structure shots. Some say beauty is only skin deep, but I disagree. I'm putting these in spoiler tags, since some people might consider some of them to be indecent. However, I can assure you that I didn't put too much detail in the body structure--just enough to achieve basic (but blocky) "curves." Daniela Capricorn

Thanks again for the comments, everyone! I just fixed the entire model, including her legs. (See the new version below these responses.) Those sound like great ideas for a real-life version! Thank you! It is a little wide, yes. But I had to make it that wide in order to accommodate all the details. And now, here's Daniela 2.0! After taking some reference screenshots from Rise of the Rookies, I realized that her legs are far more complex than I previously imagined. Click the pictures to enlarge them. I realize this upgrade makes her taller than Fire Lord. That could lead to a funny situation... And of course, the interior shots, again between spoiler tags in case anyone were to question their decency. Daniela Capricorn

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, everyone! I agree with you about the legs. In fact, I was recently re-watching the Breakout movie, and I noticed that another robot based on Daniela appears to have more complex legs than those on my MOC, with Rahkshi lower legs. I also noticed Toa Metru feet on Daniela's upper legs in this HS01 picture. Sadly, those elements are not in LDD, but I can still see where the upper legs might be improved. I'll update this topic when I have a chance to post a new version of my MOC. Thanks! Never say never--there's always LEGO CUUSOO. Sleeves? I'm not sure what you mean. I'll try to fix her legs to eliminate as much of the 2.0 system as possible. As for her feet, if I can get a better look at them in the TV series, I'll see what I can do to improve them. If LEGO put 2x2 and inverted 2x2 versions of this piece in LDD, I could fix her breasts easily. (I think I'd also need a curved version of this piece.) I'll see what I can do about her upper torso. *adds to Daniela Capricorn MOC revamp list* If I were ever to try building Mr. Makuro (which I'm not sure I'd want to do), I'd want to use use a Noble Kanohi Mahiki for his face, which would save me a lot of time. That's definitely not in LDD though! -Toa Of Justice

    Faith Stealth Power

She has no armor on her arms because she is optimized for stealth. More armor = more weight = less stealth, I think. And I agree with the most recent post of -N13OS- in this thread. -Toa Of Justice

    Faith Stealth Power

I had some free time during my internship (which ran from mid-January to the end of February) at the University of West Florida, so I took a trip to the National Naval Aviation Museum. It inspired me to make a Hero Recon Team member named Faith Stealth Power. True to her name, she is dedicated, powerful, and can take out targets without being noticed. Her tools, nicknamed "Wyng" (the dual crossbow with wings, which doubles as a jetpack) and "Preyer" (the laser gun), have given her undefeated success so far. Her color scheme is based off the Blue Angels. I made several concept models of Faith in both the Hero Creator and LDD. In the end, I settled on the following design. Click any picture to enlarge it. Here is Faith Stealth Power compared to Samurai X's Power Suit. More pictures of Samurai X's Power Suit can be found in this topic. Brickshelf up, down..who knows!

I think they might just be a little overwhelmed right now, perhaps with many slow-loading/extra-large images. Either that or one or more Brickshelf moderators are out sick/on vacation, leaving the other(s) with extra work. -Toa Of Justice

    (MOC) Venom VPR

Thanks, both of you! With all those guns, fangs, and rockets, I'd say...maybe. Remember, the Ninja have Spinjitzu, but I don't know how well that would work in outer space. Of course, I also made a power suit for Samurai X, which should be able to put up a fight! -Toa Of Justice

    Samurai X's Power Suit

I can't say yet. I am interested in your modifications, but I'd like to see the LDD file before I pass judgment, please. I might be able to take a quick photo of the real version with some of your modifications (provided that I have the right pieces). I agree with you! -Toa Of Justice
  13. Update (March 14 30, 2012): I have ordered my model, and will post have posted real pictures sometime in April (or earlier if possible). Update (March 11, 2012): Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! Due to a flaw in my model spotted by EB member Nick-Name, I am extending my suggestion deadline to March 14, 2012. (See the most current version of this model here.) Samurai X (a.k.a., Nya) is one of my most favorite Ninjago characters. The design of her minifigure is awesome. I thought it was neat that she was getting her own mech in the summer (as seen at Toyfair), but at the same time, I thought her mech didn't look quite right to me, so I built my own power suit for her. Click any image to enlarge it (except the 5th one). Front Sword side Rocket side Back (with armor plate) Top view (no larger image available; I didn't see any sense in making one) Cockpit open Special wallpapers (click each pic for a larger version): Desert Action Mountain Flight Get the LXF files of this MOC standing, flying, and fighting. Brickshelf gallery (click "Up" for older versions of this MOC) My MOC was inspired by the following sets: 9448 Samurai Mech (shoulder pads and overall design) 4528 Green Lantern (head protection) 7711 Sentry (hand rockets) 6227 Breez (leg rockets, twin-bladed sword, and the arm rockets' mount) Before you ask, I do intend to buy the bricks for this model (sans special effects) via LEGO's online Pick A Brick store. (I already have the minifigure, the windscreen, and a few other pieces.) However, I would like some feedback on the design before I make my purchase and build this MOC in real life, please. Thank you. I should have real-life pics ready sometime around April (approximately). -Toa Of Justice
  14. As I mentioned in this topic, I have been planning to post a revamped version of my Shredder Rod, which I built at LEGOLAND Florida (more info here) in December 2011. As part of my revamp, I decided to make Break Jaw the driver. However, he didn't like the blue color scheme (it reminded him of certain pesky Agents, plus it clashed with his outfit), so I changed it to black and orange. I originally called this revamp the Shredder Rod Unlimited (hence the name of the LXF file and the Brickshelf folder), but since I used a character from the Agents theme, I decided to change the name (and the topic title) to... Samurai X's Power Suit

Well, as it turns out, I was away from home for most of today and did not have time to order my model just yet. Thanks for spotting the back flaw. I'll modify my model to fix the back and post it tomorrow. Personally, I prefer the legs and arms of my version. Also, those red shoulder pads on your version stand out a bit too much to me. Good job otherwise though! New Deadline for suggestions: March 14, 2012 -Toa Of Justice EDIT: Yes, pictures of your model would be nice to see! EDIT 2: I think I fixed the back. I realized that one of the 1x4 TECHNIC bricks was illegally colliding with the central ball on the torso beam. I changed the entire structure back there, and filled in some gaps at the same time. I also noticed that the upper arm armor orientation on Nick-Name's model seemed to allow for more flexibility than on my model, so I changed mine to match. In addition, I decided to put back the left arm armor and put the rocket launcher assembly in the left hand. LXF File

    Samurai X's Power Suit

Those cones appear to be trans-orange, but they're actually trans-red. I tried your suggestion in both LDD and real life, and unfortunately, since the other side of the chalice is designed to accept the bottom of a 1x1 round plate/brick (or of a tube in any stud-and-tube plate/brick of at least 2x2 studs), I couldn't make the rocket element connect directly to the chalice in the orientation I had before. Here's what I came up with instead: ^click to enlarge^ LXF File Is that better? -Toa Of Justice

    Samurai X's Power Suit

Thanks, both of you! I see what you mean by the boot jets. I'll try a jetpack on the back instead. EDIT: How's this? ^click to enlarge^ LXF File Me too! I plan to order it from PAB next week. My aim with this model was to build something that was mostly different from the official set, while retaining a few key aspects (e.g., the color scheme and the shoulder pads). I think I'll keep my current cockpit design, since I want to use that windscreen. The part in my collection has a slightly bent hinge which prevented it from closing completely on Jay's Storm Fighter (it's been replaced), but I think that defect won't affect this model. -Toa Of Justice EDIT 2 (3/5/12): I just saw the real mech in action today, and not only does my new jetpack seem to be more accurate than the previous jet boots, it also seems my cockpit design opens similarly to the one in the TV show.

2012 LEGO CREATOR Rumours and Discussion

I tried searching on Google, but no luck. Sorry. However, there might be some fan-made alternate instructions out there for those sets... -Toa Of Justice EDIT: As I don't own any of those sets, I haven't made any such instructions.

2012 LEGO CREATOR Rumours and Discussion

I recently read some LEGO Shop At Home reviews of 7292 Propeller Adventures, and I noticed that people were complaining about how hard the 4th model was to find. Then I remembered that I had downloaded these instructions from the LEGO Club Web site using the Club code "WINGS" (no quotes). Here's a direct link to the instructions (in PDF format). In addition, 6913's 4th model was revealed in the last LEGO Club e-newsletter. Here's a link to the PDF file. Does anyone know where the 4th model instructions are for 7291 Street Rebel? Should I just wait for LEGO to reveal them as well? -Toa Of Justice

    MOC: V22 Osprey

Nice model, The Fezter! You seem to have captured the looks of the Osprey very well. I do have a few suggestions though: 1. If this model is for LEGO's City range, why is there a gun (?) up front? (If that is indeed a gun, perhaps this model might be better suited to one of LEGO's "military-ish" themes, such as Dino.) 2. I think the rotors would look better "sweeping" in opposite directions. (On one rotor, mount the long plates on the other side of the rotor plate. This LEGO set best illustrates what I mean by this concept, albeit with BIONICLE swords rather than plates.) 3. Does the landing gear retract? If not, you might want to consider making it do that. 4. If there's room for them, minifigure pilots would really be a great addition to this model. (In fact, they'd be required if this were a City model. Otherwise, it'd be a Creator model.) Great job otherwise! Keep it up! -Toa Of Justice

What is Your Favorite Lego Star Wars Year?

Hmm... tough choice! 1999 was the year I introduced myself to LEGO Star Wars, with the simple yet appealing Landspeeder. Despite having a relatively simple design, the A-Wing of 2000 appeals to me (and has no stickers, unlike the 2006 version). 2002 brought lots of new curves and angles into LEGO sets in general, and I really like the Jedi Starfighter. 2003 had the Minis and the T-16 Skyhopper. I really liked those. 2005's Episode III sets (especially the Droid Tri-Fighter) were very well designed in my opinion (except for the stickers). I enjoyed 2006's V-Wing Fighter. 2007 brought the UCS Millennium Falcon, which I enjoyed building with my dad over many weekends. 2010 had the awesome TIE Defender. In the end, I chose 2003, since that's the year in which I own the most LEGO Star Wars sets. -Toa Of Justice
