  1. Awesome ships, vynsane! The Denublian Sunset and the PLM-T1 "Bakemono" are probably my favorites. Perhaps you should post some of these on LEGO CUUSOO--I'm sure many people (including me) would buy them! -Toa Of Justice
  2. Thanks for the tips. I'll try them next time I get a warning about removed bricks. What I normally do is use the Select Connected tool and lift the connected bricks away from the building surface. If I notice anything left behind, I try to guess what got removed based on those bricks. For example, I recently opened a model with removed bricks, only to discover after lifting most of it away that two TECHNIC axles were removed, since I noticed some floating TECHNIC bushings. I replaced the axles, saved the file, and reopened it without further incident. My technique locates where bricks used to be, and your technique discovers which bricks went AWOL. Together, our techniques should be of great help to the LDD community. -Toa Of Justice
  3. In my experience, Microsoft Word 2007 does not have that functionality. Neither does Microsoft Paint in Windows 7. I understand. How would you suggest a way of allowing LDD builders to fix collisions on their own? I believe simply removing offending elements is just confusing. -Toa Of Justice
  4. Great idea. LDD should also allow Undo to work after saving a file. Currently, saving a file kills the Undo function. (Example: I just finished a huge load of work on a file, then I save it, only to discover that I made a small mistake. I reach for the Undo button, but to no avail... ) Besides the above, I would appreciate it very much if LDD didn't remove "incorrectly placed" parts automatically. Instead, it should highlight the faulty part(s) in a model (perhaps like the Buyability tool does) and give the builder a chance to correct the problem(s). The "UnplaceableBricksDump.lxfml" file is useless for me--it just repeats the same action as in the original faulty file, but also colors all the good parts yellow. Also, how can everyday users be expected to know that's the file they ought to check for "incorrectly placed" parts? It doesn't seem very obvious to me. If I can think of any more suggestions, I'll add them to this post. -Toa Of Justice EDIT: Here's another one: Allow multiple instances, please! Currently, this dialog box comes up every time I try to open another file alongside my current one... Neither suggestion provided by the dialog box is helpful. It used to be that the new model would open up in the same window (if I made any unsaved changes, LDD would ask me to save them before loading the new model). The old behavior was OK for me, but this new behavior is not. If multiple instances aren't feasible, at least bring back the old behavior, please!

Racers MOCs by Toa Of Justice

Thanks! Unfortunately, I don't own that set, and that chassis is not available in LDD. Perhaps I'll make a mock-up of it in LDD one day, incorporate it into an MOC, and then post it here. -Toa Of Justice

Thanks! Speaking of the minis (if you could call the GT-J "mini," that is--it's twice the size of a Tiny Turbo, but still small compared to some of my other Racers--perhaps "midi" might be more appropriate), I just updated the GT-J with a cockpit and an engine. The revised pictures are below the original ones. -Toa Of Justice

Thanks, -R8-! Sorry it took me so long to reply to your post, but I just added a new MOC to this topic--the GT-J! -Toa Of Justice
  9. I'm sorry to hear that you lost your model. However, I was able to successfully replicate and bend the structure in your post. Here's an LXF file of the structure. -Toa Of Justice

    MOC: IP-2012 Icebird

This is an Ice Planet spaceplane capable of reaching Mach 9. It features retractable landing gear, an opening cockpit, storage compartment, and engine compartment, as well as moveable thrusters. Basically, I really wanted to build something using the Ice Planet 2002 color scheme, but since 2012 is right around the corner, I consider my MOC to be from an evolution of the Ice Planet theme as if it were coming back in 2012 (which I don't think it is, but I can dream, right? ). That and the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird inspired the name of my MOC. Click on any picture to enlarge it. < LXF File - Brickshelf Gallery > Thanks for looking! -Toa Of Justice

    MOC: IP-2012 Icebird

Thanks for the suggestion regarding the middle part. Where exactly should I put the plates on the middle part, and what kinds (e.g., small, large, wing) of plates would you like me to use? Thankfully, the legs you suggested are available in LDD, so I used them, but kept the colors of the parts the same to stay within the Ice Planet minifig color scheme. MOC: IP-2012 Icebird

Thanks, all of you! You're welcome. I thought about using SNOT slopes instead of wing plates (which would have taken care of the studs), but then my wings would've had jagged edges (due to how the slopes would've connected with each other). I'm not sure which legs you're talking about, nor am I sure they're available in LDD. Could you please provide a picture? Thanks in advance. I'm glad you're pleased with my wing/body ratio solution. I see what you mean by my model being out of the civilian role, given that most of the models in the theme don't seem to have weaponry. I'll say that the engine compartment contains a hyperspace module--it looks like it does to me. Mach 9 is the Icebird's top speed from the thrusters. I agree with you and the others about the color scheme. Personally, I prefer the trans-orange one, but I'm glad to see that someone else likes the trans-blue one. I wonder if any other color scheme would look good on the Icebird... As for the fighter jet appearance, I agree with you. As I said before... -Toa Of Justice

    <MOC> Insectoids Blaster Bug

This model is inspired by the Insectoids. It has 8 laser guns, pincers, a stinger, and pointy legs. It also features a detachable scout pod. Also, this is the second model I built combining Hero Factory elements and classic bricks--the first one can be found here. Click any image to enlarge it. LXF File - Brickshelf Gallery If you want to see this model in real bricks, you can buy its parts through DESIGNbyME for USD $42.20, or perhaps a little less through Pick A Brick. NOTE: I had an issue with the visor and helmet in this model--see this. -Toa Of Justice

    <MOC> Insectoids Blaster Bug

Thanks! In addition to standing in for the original trans-neon green parts, the trans-bright green parts in my model also seem to stand out better than true trans-neon green parts in LDD (which look too much like trans-yellow to my eyes... ) -Toa Of Justice
  23. I think I found a serious bug. It is impossible to attach the Atlantis visor to the normal helmet in LDD 4.1.8. I'm sure it is possible in real life--see this picture. But it seems LDD has removed this ability... LXF File -Toa Of Justice

Racers MOCs by Toa Of Justice

Thanks everyone! I haven't planned to build any of these in real bricks. However, the Torpedo and the High Tech Racer are the ones that are most likely to be seen in real bricks, since they only use parts available from DesignByME. As for the others, I could post them on LEGO CUUSOO, and if they get 10,000 supporters each and pass the LEGO review, then the bricks could exist to build them. However, I have not seen the 2012 TT-R's front grill element in any set yet, so I am not sure if that one would ever be done in real bricks. Out of all the models I have posted so far, which one(s) do you most want to see in real bricks? Please keep in mind that I am in college now, so it may be quite a while before I have a chance to photograph and post any real pictures. -Toa Of Justice
