Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Kwatchi replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
While I am happy for all the mayor’s who lucked out, I’ll be giving up more than half my land properties to help out Roadmonkeytj keep Charlatan Bay running now that he got hit with a 350db bill overnight. That leaves me with about 40dbs per mrca (ie peanuts). So in the event of a bad naval engagement, I’ll either be without ships or bankrupt, and I’ll move on to another game. That’s the reality of it. I personally enjoy the risk, but others don’t. I expect our player base to continue to shrink unfortunately.- 1992 replies

I won't mince words - the last hour sucked. Officer Lewis vacuumed up all the attention/votes making it an easy day for the scum moles, and then we lost two town CTU in the bargain. It feels like a perpetual day 1 almost. Hopefully we can get back to business today and make some actual progress. The people with JamesN votes have my attention now. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to the hall closet - and certainly NOT to relieve myself in a potted plant because I still can't use the washroom due to Kiefer's Jack's washroom ban, and I have been doing the pee-pee dance for a while now.

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Kwatchi replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@Bregir @Phred @Legostone What is the proper procedure to transfer property ownership (and yield) from a player to a colony or faction? Between my brother and I, we have nine properties we want to pass over to Charlatan Bay in order to help keep it afloat financially (because the new rules essentially bankrupted it overnight). Not complaining about the rule changes btw - us Sea Rats are just scrambling to come up with ways to make sure forts are paid for.- 1992 replies

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II

Whoa ho ho. You guys just turned the game on its head. I love it! I hope colony owners will be able to turn forts off though - those are are some high costs for players caught unawares.- 1992 replies

Slept in after a very late board game night and.. uh... what the heck happened this morning? /head scratch As a potential lynchee I don’t want go and honestly have been gripping a bit tighter since my bonehead move, but objectively I think it would be pretty hilarious if a triple lynch happened. I’m sticking on Tariq though. Still only truly scummy behaviour we’ve seen.

As promised: Vote: Dr. James, Nurse (Tariq J) While Lewis/JamesN has been a little unconventional by this communty's standard of game play, he also has been pushing hard so I've put his name into the "further study" pile rather than over-react. Fhomess' argument on Alfred/Zepher is strongly based on their interpretation of the tone of the accusation and a changing of opinion as more info was uncovered - a bit thin but I am keeping on open mind and will review back tonight/tomorrow. I don't get the Legomonorail vote reasoning at all - I have discounted that as too farfetched (sorry JamesN). In my eyes TariqJ has done the most overt scummy action of anyone to date, so that is where I am voting as everything else has been intangible. I'm actually a little shocked there has been no follow-up on this by others btw. BUT....jluck might have the most interesting tidbit so far. Not a smoking gun, but the best theory to date on why scum chose skinner/mediumsnowman as their target. Hopefully someone can leverage that into a positive.

Whoa!!! Wait a minute now! Either this is just some general brainstorm banter or it’s a subtle prod for our investigator (I assume we have someone like that as we normally do) to get claim information out and potentially risk revealing themselves in the process. With all the PMs reportedly flying about this looks a lot like PR fishing by scum to me. And if it walks like a duck... My phone browser doesn’t let me see post signatures and I don’t remember character names, but consider this a vote notification on Tariq j ( Nurse Whatshername). I’ll do it in the proper syntax when I get home to my PC.

Yep. That was a wonderful brain fart moment by me. Just checking in over lunch and Kotz has let me know that I have a penalty incoming. From now on I am leaving my typos to stand as is. I apologize in advance for the occasional unintelligible gibberish.

I'm off to the office in a minute (just enjoying my morning tea) so I can't be too verbose, but I will say I am glad we're starting to get more people talking in earnest. We need discussions to help us make proper decisions at this stage A few quick hits from me:. Huh?! I allow me to say the we agree to disagree on this. It is more akin to a running joke than anything. Incidentally Officer Lewis, going through past lives (aka games) is a great resource to help you make decisions on trends, but this community is rather concerned with meta-gaming. I'm not saying you shouldn't (it is your gameplay after-all and a tactic I have used myself privately), but posting that info is going to be frowned upon by some. You and me both. There is a bad bug going around. Feel better! So a this self-declared fluff post from me. I realize and admit that, but it is all I have time for this morning. I vow to be more useful and put down my actual thoughts tonight/this weekend when I have more free time. edit: So this is a ...

This is a bit harsh for a game don't you think? The term for "town" changes with the setting of each game, and we are all able to adapt to such a little thing. Heck, I even had some fun with it. No one is trying to trip you up with word games. Frankly, this strikes me as a distraction argument.

This one guy in the motor pool always wore clown shoes when he was getting a <sputters out coffee in shock> Skinner is dead!? Dang. —-/—-/—- ooc FYI: we had a nasty snowstorm last night, so my work day is already a disaster. I won’t be on until this evening, and I’ll try to catch up with things then.

I think your sunset pic turned out pretty good to be honest, and the ship is quite nice. I like the effort you made with the yardarms. Rather than invest in a new camera, consider a couple of cheap reading lamps. I think having light sources from different angles to reduce/eliminate shadow will help a lot.

Convoys/fleets: Commodores, Admirals, and National Heroes
Kwatchi replied to Capt Wolf's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The Lord of Whispers has promoted Captain Katrin DeKruger (cmd: Hand of Fate) to acting Commodore of the Yellow Skull Pirate Fleet, while he is busy with other endeavours. DeKruger was plucked from the docks of Breshaun by the pirate lord years ago, where she had run with the wild packs of orphaned and abandoned children. While not a kind guardian, it was seen to that she was tutored sufficiently and joined cruises at a young age. The target of the occasional rumour of witchcraft and sorcery by the crew, she rose up the ranks thanks to a hard sense of loyalty and a surprising ferociousness when the least bit threatened. Quite amicable in port, she demands strict execution of orders at sea and has the requisite fortitude to keep the disparate reaver captains in line. This has earned her the nickname "The Cold Mistress".- 49 replies

Anyway, this one time the Deputy Head of the <redacted> Department of <redacted> drunk off his <redacted> starts singing along to the Village People and then whips out his <redacted> claims he is still married to that flamenco dancer. ===/===/=== Time is obviously running out and I have some bad news. My theory has proved no help in making a decision on a day 1 vote (which I guess means it fails as a theory). My thinking was that since murder is an emotional driven crime, I'd keep track the usage of emotionally charged words; even though the moles have not done anything yet I'd hope their nerves would subconsciously make them communicate in that vein. I'd do a count of the usage of those words and pick my vote based on the highest number. Problem of course is that I didn't take into account role-playing. It's messed up my count royally as I try and deduce what is real and what is acting. So I'm tossing that plan into the waste bin. Right now I have my "wake up" vote sitting on Riley (jluck). Since there is no serious reason backing it, and no one is jumping out at me as truly suspicious (some ruffled feathers mind you), I'm simply going to let it sit where it is. Bob, I'm a TOWN/CTU/GOOD GUY too. Didn't want you to feel left out.

[R15 - Dennaskar- TCR] Recon mission to Dennaskar
Kwatchi replied to Darth Bjorn's topic in Factions Archive
First thing that popped into my mind too. But having bought that TIE fighter set for myself this Christsmas, I actually consider buying another. The ship is a nice looking build by itself, and the minifigs are a bonus. As for this MOC, I really like the "circular" crate design (yoink... idea stolen), and while not a fan of vertical rock work your terrain looks great in this case as it represents a cohesive soil. -
On his first mission for the Commenor Remnant, Karlan Teg was sent to Balmorra to scout out some locations for potential future listening post installations. While there, he collected a xenos sample of a local felid apex-predator species; mostly for the scientists back home to study. Mostly. ===/===/=== Just an intro "doodle" MOC to get my imagination going.

[FB - OL] Chateau D'Ouennes - a fort for Acropolis
Kwatchi replied to Ross Fisher's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
What?! This is an outrage!!!! Oleon has gone to far! ... ... Ya, I am fine with you locking him up Robin, as long as I can bust him out of jail if/when I ever get back to my story line. I'll need him to act as a transition POV since my remaining two story introduced Captain's managed to themselves sunk and killed last month. -
I like those the corner towers. Nicely done.

[SR-FB] Bill Tompson's "Hooch"

You know a surprising amount of information about illegal alcohol production. What do you do in life again? -
Dang it! Stop making me re-start my LDD ship every time at look at your latest one. That's a nice build RoadmonkeyTJ

Bob @Bob and Kaster @Lady K have been rather quiet. Consider this your unofficial request to chime in. A quick correction: A bit surprised by this below: Considering I have a vote sitting on you, I hope you could elaborate a bit and clear this up for me. Looks lazy at minimum.

So there was this case involving three Vegas show girls and Senator <redacted> flew by helicopter to Mount St. Helens in order to <redacted> she took a parsnip and placed it in <redacted> left a bag of penguin dung in the Secretary of the Interior's office. Seems relevant to our present situation. ===/===/=== As a firm non-believer in first day lynches, day 1 is always problematic for me. I agree that a lynch can being useful to discern patterns later in the game (even as it is an acknowledged bad odds gamble), but with rule 13 in effect I am going to keep an open mind. With that said, I am going to test a pet theory of mine to decide on my first day vote and I'll share my reasoning at that time; however I need more 'data' to make it work, so no definitive vote from me just yet. Not a bad idea. Consider me on board for these wake-up calls: vote: Riley Marshall, Analyst (jluck) PS: @jamesn "the fabulous Officer Lewis?"

[M10 - Balmorra - CR] Scouting Trip to Balmorra
Kwatchi replied to Kwatchi's topic in Factions Archive
The Professor has it right. One of the after market parts I got to affix bayonets to my pirate theme muskets. I have to agree - these wands have tons of potential uses. -
Hmmm. A mole hunt. This reminds me of the case of the Department of <redacted> was completed. A CD of Miles Davis was then used to <redacted> effigy of Kofi Annan made of Cheez Wiz in the <redacted> a basket of purple velour. So as you can plainly see, if you give me three thumb tacks and a phillips screwdriver I'll have this wrapped up in no time flat. Erm... what was that about no bathroom breaks? The Secret Service drink a lot of coffee to stay at peak alert levels.
