Mar, 619 - Parts Unknown To whom it may concern, I wish to condemn the unmocced vessel 'Hammerhead (5)' as a prize. it came into my possession during the most recently completed MRCA. -Missive from the Yellow Skull fleet ---x---x--- Also a little book-keeping: 1) I sold the Magnolia (3) to the prize court back in Oct: It is still showing up in the account sheet under my name and I can't seem to figure out if I ever got paid for it. I'd sell it again, but I'm an ethical guy. 2) Could I have the captured Stormbringer II transferred to my ownership in the account page please?

That is a lovely use of the green with white trim. Is that a home-made sign?

You tried a lot of new techniques and most came off nicely. That sniper rifle threw me off though - I find it very discordant. I really liked the post box and the stairwell pic with the chandelier in the foreground.

Your shoreline could have used and bit of 'wiggle' to it (with a 4x1 plate added here or there), because it arrow straight and looks like a pool side, the gaggle on the side walk are all square to the buildings and a little angle to their posing would have made it a bit more natural looking, and that pub pic is a bit dark.. But those are just minor things really - you've captured the rebuilding of the road & town clean-up quite well.

Sitting in Iqaluit atm (had to fly up for work yesterday) with lousy internet so I’ll have to brief. -Thank you for hosting Kotz. -For the record ‘the rant’ was real and left me bummed out for a couple days. Poor Fhomess was very sympathetic and got poorly used in the process. -While the scum team played as best we could, this result came down more to luck than anything. My surviving a role cop on a PGO thanks to the town blocker was extraordinary.

Wow! I'm delightedly impressed. A lot of good stuff there.

I was busy this afternoon and did not expect to come back to this. I won't be voting for Diane because there are too many things bugging me about what's occurred. 7 votes out of 9. 1 dissenter besides the lynchee. That screams to me something is off right off the top. I have been in PMs with Diane/Fhomess. At no time to did she make any overt attempt to influence my vote; we just bounced ideas off each other. Were she scum, I think her interactions would have been more pointed. I don't like this statement one bit: Why state this? It makes me nervous that this is result is being pushed through without giving people time to think about it. Lastly, I don't trust Tariq's claim of commuter... but not for obvious reasons. I have openly been suspicious of Dr. James since Day 2. Now when we get near the end, he/she suddenly claims a town role that is essentially a vanilla that can be untargettable. If I wanted to put some weight behind my blind claim this would be a great PR role to choose, but If we are going into what may be our last night of action WHY would I openly broadcast to the scum that they shouldn't target me and waste their kill attempt? Of course the problem is that Benson is the one who actually put this out publicly and that is where I get worried. Was it a sloppy decision or covering tracks? I don't want to vote Benson because all our theories are based on him and Bob in the town block. Even though Bob started this run on Diane, he was allegedly using the info passed down to him from the investigator, and both he and Benson can't be a godfather*. So one of the two is town for certain, and I say it is Bob. Between this and him spearheading Mostlytechnic's lynch, I now have doubts about Benson. It means nothing at this point in the day, but I am sticking with my Dr. James/Riley working together theory. Tariq for reasons above and previously mentioned, and Jluck for contributing little of substance today (again) but swooping in to put the deciding vote on Diane. I am going to switch my order though so when you go back through vote patterns it will stand out. Vote: Riley (jluck) *While it is an unlikely scenario that scum is composed of two godfathers and nothing else, it is not completely impossible given we have the wrinkle of a time limit. Of course Khscary clearing both is so unlikely that if true we're doomed anyway, so no use worrying about it.

I went back through voting patterns to try and figure more things out. It makes two assumptions (LMF = blocker, Khscary = investigator) Khscary was blocked night 1. That was some bad luck. Bob/Bob voted for Benson/LMF days 1-3 and was very aggressive on him. So if the investigator cleared him, it was only during night 3. That adds up. He voted on jluck day 4. LMF has voted the following (day 1/day 2/day 3/day 4): Bob/JamesN/Mostlytechnic/jluck. Day 2-4 his votes are in step with Khscary. If we throw out day 1, Zepher mirrored Khscarymovie's pattern day 2-4. Not sure if that means anything, but that pattern is there to see. Players who voted for LMF day 3 include: Asphalt, Bob, Kintober, Lady K, Tariq. My guess is there is a higher chance of scum in that group, but it really means they weren't in contact with Khscary or disagreed. I have been talking to someone in PM (OOC: gasp, I know. The game is so much more interesting now though). We did some comparisons of our theories, and Tariq came out on top in a ven diagram of our suspicions. I do think he is scum, but I also realize we can't afford a split vote today, or a wrong vote for that matter. Bob & LMF, I'd like a bit more reasoning on a Diane vote please before I'd back this. That certainly could not have gone any worse. I'm not sure. We desperately need a "gotcha moment" to turn the tables on the scum, so giving out too much info seems counter-productive. Having said that, you have already claimed publicly so it is not like you are going to surprise anyone either and block targets aren't great evidence.

Mesabi, you and your overly simplistic land MOCs certainly take flak (and some very much deserved), but this definitely shows improvement in your ship building. While I can't speak for everyone, I am happy to see the effort put in. A big step forward with your shaping over this one. Personally, I'd add an off-set colour to the back end as trim: blue. gold. yellow, grey would all work well. Also, your rudder seems to have fallen off.

Wouldn't I have to change my mind with no warning for it to be considered a flip-flop? I think by definition this is actually the exact polar opposite. To be clear: My opinion on Diane has been changed; I've had no reason to change opinion on you. So while a conspiracy between you and her is now extremely doubtful, your PR fishing action from Day 2 did not become any less suspect by association (or in this case - disassociation). Since you bring it up, I'd might as well formalize it so there is no further confusion. Hi all. Sorry I haven't been active. I've picked my chin up and popped in when I saw we've had some action today. Then I tried to catch up on things and got a tad lost. Just for my clarity: LMF/Benson has claimed town blocker (to avoid a possible lynch) LMF/Benson claims to be in contact with the investigator Bob/Bob claims to be in contact with the investigator There may be a Strongman and/or Commuter according to LMF/Benson, though this is 2nd/3rd hand info. (No offense LMF, but it seemed like you were just throwing out roles from Mafiapedia at random there to see if anyone believed you, so I am not sure what to make of these.) Assuming I got that all correct, I am willing to take a leap of faith and discount LMF/Benson from my suspicions going forward. I've never really suspected Bob, so no big change there. And for the record, while I have no proof to share, I no longer strongly suspect Fhomness/Diane, and that unfortunately pokes a big hole in my previous Tariq theory. I still don't trust him mind you, it's just I am not as sure of his scumminess as I was previously. The rest of you are all in a bucket marked "potential moles". I was going to vote Tariq/Dr. James now in case I don't check back in, but I don't want to be pigheaded about this and I'm forcing myself to be more active. So my vote is still outstanding... but it essentially still Dr. James.

I did pm jluck yesterday. I told him the same thing I will tell you now. I wasn't sure if he was scum or town, but that was brilliant move. He put out an accusation on me based on absolutely nothing (I'm literally being voted for because someone's “spider sense is tingling”), but I was skewered either way. If I came out to defend myself, I was being overly aggressive and suspicious; if I did nothing I was hiding. Heck, I posted nothing between then and now and I have been upgraded to 'desperate'. My silence is deafening! Sheer genius play. Except after a day to reflect on things, it is not really is it. It is simply another example of how broken this game group is. What follows is a rant. It is long and not really about this specific game at all, but it draws examples from it and needs to be said. Not the ideal forum for this granted but I want everyone's attention. Since I have already seem to be in the spotlight, I might as well leverage that for a purpose. It is also likely very counter-productive for me game-wise, but I am beyond caring about that atm. I have only played one other game of Mafia on EB, but I have watched a few and read back through a far more. It always seem to be the same players making it past day 3 and into the end game, with some outliers. I figured it was just player experience that allowed them pick out subtle behaviour clues and clear newer players out. But now being on the receiving end of this I realize that is complete bunk. Vets stick together in this group and newbs are “ignored”. I used quotes because it is not strictly that no one acknowledges them, it is they play around them. My example is that both Kristel and myself have been on Tariq. Kristel from Day 1, and me as of yesterday. We detailed our proof as best we could and during that time the only acknowledgement of the argument (PR fishing) is a throw away excuse from Tariq himself. Not one peep from anyone else about what we put forward. I'm willing to bet had I done what he did that I'd be up against the wall in a flash, but Tariq is a long time player so everyone seems to just ignore it as an honest mistake. It is two-tier thinking at it worst. Today I simply feel like I was invited in order to make up the numbers. The vets are happy because they can vote off the newbs in the first few days and then they can play by themselves for the part that matters. Us newer players are stuck bewildered, wondering why no PMs us, no one believes us, and no one pays attention to us. I have too much self-pride to simply suicide like JamesN just did, or Foreman did last game, or simply quit abruptly like Drunkhok did in my only other game played. While I am frustrated, it wouldn't be fair to the people who are actually trying to play evenly. However I won't be back for a third game either. Now I'm assuming I have instantly upgraded myself from desperate to Satan incarnate, but it is what it is. As detailed previously, my vote is on Tariq for the Day 2 PR fishing we caught him doing. Vote Dr. James/Tariq Next on my list going forward is fhmoness (Diane) for starting the “he feels funny” train that I believe is an effort to peel me off Tariq. I believe these two are a scum team and I won't be deviating unless another scum is uncovered. And I finally draw your attention to the absence of LadyK. If you wanted another blatant example of two-tier thinking, there it is.

The players JamesN voted for himself, not who voted for him.. His actions were so erratic I personally can't read much into anything but I think it's day 3 and we are somehow still tunnel visioned on this guy, and all it does is take away attention from others. Now for the second time today I have someone with a "feeling" that I am scum. I state facts and openly explain my rationale and suspicions, but it is countered with "doesn't feel right". I could continue to address stuff like this, but it would be like shouting into the wind. My emotional word count idea from Day 1 is more interesting now though.

Hurray! We're special! Seriously though, this is a HUGE help. Between this and some unorthodox solutions we have been feverishly working on internally, we may be able to untie this Gordian Knot. More to follow...

Hi Diane. Um... what? You're argument for me being scum is: I didn't vote for a lay-up lynch i didn't believe in of what turned out to be a townie. I do admit I was not 100% mind you. You can check back. I stayed on my vote for Dr. James/TarigJ who acted scummy with some PR fishing Day 2, and even self-admitted as much. I'm "middle of the road", whatever that means. Should I be going all Lewis/JamesN manic or simply disappear like Kraster/LadyK to be less scummy in your eyes? Keep in mind I play as much as my schedule allows. Barry/Kristel had been on Dr. James since Day 1, and he didn't make it to Day 3. I joined in on TariqJ Day 2 and now I get an out of the blue accusation lobbed at me. This has all the makings of a peel attempt by a scum buddy to get me to back off her team mate. You are both on notice now.

I do too. But the sole reason for the db glut is the ludicrous returns from ship trading. Why that hasn't been fixed is beyond me. Catch-22. You can close your forts, and then get raided as an undefended colony and pay anyway. Lol. That's the big joke. My brother and I built C.Bay up in order to make money to buy ships and be pirates. The story was to help us try to enjoy it, but colonies are essentially a boring 'job' that requires building stuff that didn't inspire you and more energy completing paperwork than they are worth. Heck, they don't even pay you a salary anymore for doing it! Frankly, the reason I am one of few players not freaked out by this turning an income into an expense is because I am no longer responsible for one.
