Looks like you're wrong, cause the product page actually has been updated with box pictures and more detail pictures now.
-
On the box it says 2294 pieces, which includes the sharks. Official description also says 2294 pieces. Simple proof the sharks ARE in it. Why would they be on the box, if they aren't in the set? This wouldn't make any sense at all...

1 hour ago, Legoman123 said:I'm still sitting on the fence for this set though. A big thing for me was how the interior was going to look, unfortunately now the only thing I can say is 'what interior'.
Just because there are no pics of an interior on the box, it doesn't have to mean there is none. Same as it didn't mean there are no sharks, just because there were no pics with them until now...

All i can say is: i told 'ya...

There still hasn't been a "real" press release for it yet, like they usually do it with a designer video and lots of detail pictures. Something is strange with this set announcement. First we just get low-res pictures of it with a little description and no real press release, and then it's up on S@H with just the same pictures in high-res, but still no box pictures and whatsoever. Leaves hope they are still holding back some details for a real press release...

Honestly, i don't get people's hate on this set. Especally some complaining about there being no hull makes me laugh. That's the way it is supposed to be! Have you even seen any trailer for the movie yet? If so, nobody would expect a"full" ship. For example look at the scenes where it appears in this trailer, it is meant to be a sceletal WRECK of a ship, so the set is spot-on. If they'd change it to an actual ship, it would have nothing to to with the movie anymore, which would make no sense at all...

what site is that with the 400 photos?
-
Btw. Did anyone notice that the Fortrex set has more parts than any castle since before the fantasy era at least?
-
Where are the official pictures from?
-
All the official images are now available (minus Helicarrier). http://www.thebrickf...fficial-images/
Thanks for the link, but that's not all sets, 76041 is missing aswell.

I got all of the arctic sets now and put them on display so i thought i'd provide a picture of them all together. They actually take up quite a lot of space:
-
Oh my god, how on earth could this possibly be fixed?! Now i won't buy the set, cause here's no way you can just turn the flags around
-
Can anyone that already has the set please provide some pictures of the lower deck?

Does this belong to the icebreaker set?

These airport fire trucks are very common in europe aswell, 60061 mostly reminds me of one like that:

Well, there is ice in the arctic in the summer aswell...

Now we are getting picky.......lucky I was excellent at geography at high school.
Australia has the largest claim in Antarctica.......
Now, let's see....ah, city is modern world.....yes, but maybe if Lego intends of extending the city limits to a few thousand Km's.....maybe calling it Modern World would be better.
A city is a habitat to live, work and play, so is a town or village.....a research base is not really such a thing......true you work there, you sleep there, you can have snow ball fights there. On the other hand, can you go to the shops ? no, can you go to hospital ? no, can you take a train somewhere ? no......only way in and out.....helicopter or ice breaker.....real city transportation ?
I have no problem with the subtheme as such, but calling it a city subtheme is just off.......what's next...... deep sea diving like from the 1990's ? (though that would be more plausible than an Arctic theme)
Anyway, back on-topic.....I wonder if the ice breaker will have the standard ship haul or not ?
You just forgot that Antarctica is not the same as the Arctic...the first is ocated on the south pole while the second is on the north pole.
Besides that i think it doesn't really matter of which theme this is a subtheme. I mean it's not like there's "City" printed on each part of it. if it bugs you so much you can always overwrite the city logo on the box and instructiuon. If it really is that important.
-
The "City" theme is pretty much everything that has to do with modern age (with no scifi elements to it). Besides that, i don't think it matters if it is branded with City, as you can put it wherever you want yourself...

There isd absolutely no point to the orange jackets with blue hoods lookin bad or not right. I work for the city here, and we have reflective orange jackets with blue stripes and blue hoods, and they look very well in reality.

Being from austria, this is really great news! But i must say one thing, austria really isn't eastern europe, it's more central europe. Actually it pretty much is right in the middle of europe.

Aren't those exclusice sets always without numbered bags? I remember that the medieval market village didn't have numbered bags, also the imperial flagship didn't have numbered ones.

I think what makes orthanc unique i, that it somehow stands for all the evil of LOTR. I mean, look at it, it just SCREAMS "evil". It is a building that everybody instantly recognizes, which makes it popular. And i think there still is a chance for minas tirith, we don't know how many more waves there will be, surely there would be big potential for more. If it's gonna go on like star wars, i think there's a possibility for quite a few more exclusive, big sets.
-
It may have been said at some point before already so i apologize, but does anyone know, when the release date is for the sets in europe?
-
That interior really surprised me, i was sure that those rooms would be empty. That just made me like that set a lot more! Even though its design isn't that great, i'll still get it since i collect all castle sets.
