  1. The Imperial Heavy Assault and Riot Droid was developed as a second generation Assault Droid to combat increasing rebel threats in urban environments. The threat has moved from small bands of isolated rebels with small, hand-held weapons to larger, more organized threats, so a more efficient combat droid was needed. The HARD is protected by an energy shield that can withstand blasts from most hand-held weapons. It's projected from three panels, one on the chest and two on the legs. The fully articulated HARD allows it to protect itself in case it's energy shield is penetrated. With a pair of thick physical shields on each forearm While rebels might initially believe this to be to their advantage, attacking while the HARD is protecting itself and vulnerable, such is not the case. The armor can open up to reveal a rapid-firing minilaser on each forearm. This cannot fire at the same time as a normally mounted arm weapon. The entire Imperial Assault Droid family. The shield can be used for physical impact as well. And finally, the most potent weapon on the HARD, the grenade launcher It has a stock of 6 paralysis-gas grenades for handling riots when the survivors are wanted, and a nearly endless supply of instant-made energy grenades (basically energy stored in a magnetic field and surrounded by a thin sheet which can be produced in the barrel) for when they are not. Also perfect for urban assault missions. Gallery when moderated

    Show off your Armies!

Army building has long been one of the favorite activities of Lego enthusiasts, with one of the first well known army builders being the Knights Procession set. Since then I'm sure we've all seen some armies that tell a lot about their owners. Some are customs, and some are direct copies of figures. I've seen one or two EB army pics, but I figured we could have a place to post ours! Just a few rules before posting: 1. Please make sure the images are small. Some people may have internet access that makes loading pages with large images a real pain. 2. If you update your army, or start a new one, instead of making a new post, just edit your first post. 3. Remember to deeplink the pictures since most won't be moderated by the time they're posted. 4. There is no number 4 :-P Feel free to give a little background too! I'll start the thread off (also, please don't mind the setting of my pics, I took them when I was home on the kitchen table). First my Dragon Knight army. Led by a Mage King, this army seeks utter domination of the land. Their army isn't the strongest yet, or the most well put together, but it is growing steadily and could become a fearsome force over time Next is another army that opposes the Dragon Knights and competes for domination, the Armies of the Necromancer. He calls back the souls of the dead to their bones, and they take up arms against those that they once walked among. They have little will of their own, but are fearsome opponents: fast, strong, and their bones need to be shattered for them to be taken out. Four special warriors serve as his generals, and wield the weapons of a double bladed axe, a greatsword, a spear, and a katana. Keep in mind that the armies are from the dead soldiers of many other armies, so there is great variation in weapon choice, fighting style, armor, and helms. Beyond those four is another Shadow General, a former assassin who wields two knives as well as a large black scimitar on his back, known in life as the Heavyblade assassin. Even further beyond are two more souls. One is a black skeleton, the pinnacle of what a necromancer can summon, these black skeletons are the underworld's elite, ripped from hell itself and restored to their bones. The evil they've done and that they've absorbed in hell turns their bones as black as their soul. Finally the last one is a soul that the Necromancer gives free will, but has altered his mind. He fooled this poor soul into believing that he is the Grim Reaper, and gave him one of the three great swords. The three great swords are the Muramasa (the sword from hell), the Masamura (the sword from heaven), and the Demon's Bane (the sword from the mortal realm). The Demon's Bane is immensely powerful, but still lost to the ages. The Masamura is similarly lost, but always remains equal in power to the Muramasa via the link they share. The Muramasa gains power by sapping all life from whoever it touches, even its wielder. To solve this, the man became a Necromancer in order to summon creatures who could wield this sword for him, creatures who had no energy to drain. This false reaper travels the land, taking life as he sees fit to maintain the "natural order". Here's my Space army. This area of my "universe" is a parallel almost to the one from Star Wars (not so much in plot, but because I was lazy). Meaning there is an Empire, there is a Rebellion, and there are Stormtroopers. However everything else is different. Here is the space army: While most of those may seem to be stormtroopers, the back left area is comprised entirely of custom soldiers, who I'm currently trying to make more of. As for the stormies, I've considered replacing their helms to make them less "stolen" from Star Wars, but those things are expensive...eh A shot of one of the custom troops: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/starwars...sc_00130001.jpg So please, share with us your armies!

    Rest In Peace, Steve Irwin

Steve Irwin died earlier today, instantly from a poison barb through the chest while offshore making a documentary. Sadly, his wife is hiking through mountins, and still hasn't been notified. Mr. Irwin was a great man, who fought for the rights of animals, and the purity and sanctity of our world, against the corruption of the world. His death truly is a tragedy, and he will be missed. Please, a moment of silence?
  4. Set #7093 Skeleton Tower Price: 49.99USD Hey all, I can't let *yoda* have all the fun with the 07 lines! :-P Today my 7093 Skeleton Tower came in the mail, it's the smaller of the two Castle sets available in the US at the moment (lucky coincidence CC reviewed the larger one). I was skeptical of this set at first, as most of you probably are, but it's really not that bad. Let's start with the box I apologize for the shine You can see some nifty features of the set (again, sorry about the glare) The box opens in a strange way, the side has two pieces of tape keeping it closed. Cut those, and it opens up nicely, to allow it to be used again later. Nice, I guess. The bags are numbered, which at first glance would be a huge life saver! However there are only two segments, and they're broad. For example the first contains the first half of the castle and the figs, instead of just the figs. You still end up with a lot of pieces, and...it really didn't make much of a difference. They should have just divided it into more segments. And here's the cast! The heroic knight is fantastic, I love the armor and helmet and the classic chrome sword, it's a shame his torso is blank :-/ The beautiful princess, with a fantastic new braided hairpiece And a second face! I'll leave all jokes out of this X-D The wizard is fantastic! Printed hat, hips, and legs Even the torso is printed! I think it's an Imperial Guard torso Here's the scythe, the new sword clips onto a pole. I love the sword except...it's a little soft, and the tip isn't a point, as I had hoped. Here's the mace. One piece mold. I've hated this since day one. It looks too megablokish Now, the meat of the set...the castle! Or rather, the Skeleton Tower *skull* I really disliked this when I first saw it, but it's grown on me. I actually like this now. Sure, it's not very realistic, but it looks menacing. It reminds me of back in the days of Majisto. It's lacking details, but it works I guess. It has some nice pieces, and is worth picking up, but not if you're hard on cash. The "jaw" of the skull opens and closes, allowing entrance into the gaping maw of the tower The "drawbridge" (though it's way too short to be one...eh) opens and closes via the following simple, yet effective mechanism The two side towers snap on via technic pins. The one on stage-right is really bare, and adds nothing to the set, really The stage-left tower adds a lot more, though not all that much. A rotating catapult, and the wonderful bone-cage The catapult works really nicely, and has a wide range The back is also sadly bare...they should've included a treasure chest or some more items or features or SOMETHING... And finally, the dragon! This thing is a monster, and by that I mean big and ugly. It is a mix of the Dino-series dinos, and faux-bionicle beasts. They have some nice parts, but...eh, I hate this thing The major parts are the arms: Legs And the head The head actually has a LOT of articulation around the neck, and the jaw opens as well Here are the extra pieces: Included are some nice pieces that are new...at least new to me (note the new lightening pieces are two-toned: purple and blue) Overall I liked this set. It was nothing special, but it wasn't as horrible as I thought. Pros: -Nice figures -Nice parts -Decent Price Cons: -Few figs -Dragon -New Skellies -Bare interior As the the instructions, they were fine, though they took it a little slow (1 or 2 pieces per step generally...), and I have trouble telling dark bley from black, and red from dark red. Oh, and I hate those new skellies. Hate. Hate. Hate. They look like robotic zombie monkies. And their arms are at a slight angle too! Argh. Price: 8/10 Figs: 7/10 (great, but needed more) Parts: 8/10 Swooshability: 0/10 Playability: 9/10 Overall: 32/40

My opinion was in the review, Sinner. If you wanted me to copy and paste the entire thing that would've been a bit much, don't you think? I simply let your users know that there was a review up. That isn't a promotion or spam. As for the Twilight picture, people often link to places where new pictures are available first. I did the same. Yes, it was to my forum, but that's how I knew about it so fast. .Abusing? I did exactly what Hinckley said (as you quoted) which was make a topic when it was first launched. Since then have I spammed the site? No, I mentioned it once to donate a picture to you, and then a second time to donate a review to you guys. But please, have it your way, I by no means had to give either of them to you, and in the future I'll just have to remember that should I have anything else that might interest you guys. Wait, wait, since when can't someone advertise in their signature? Lots of members do that. Do you chastise them, or would this happen to be for another reason? Hmm... Let's look at what you're upset about. I made a topic that I was told I was allowed to do. I posted a picture which I got from another site which happens here every day. I posted a link to a review which also happens quite regularly. Three things that were spaced apart and hardly in excess. If you're so bothered by mention of the site, I have no idea why you joined up in the first place, however I'll be sure to take the cue that it's not to be mentioned here next time I have an image or a review, trust me. Now let's drop it before the topic gets too far away from it's aim, shall we? This is supposed to be about Armothe's fantastic new products, not some petty squabbling.

And yet "come and visit my site" wasn't posted anywhere. I simply posted the review of the items for the benefit of your members. No where did I mention joining, or even viewing other topics. As you also may have noticed on our site, we gladly let people link back to their own. If I just made posts of "please come to my site", you'd have a point, but as you can clearly see that is not the point of my post, now is it? Please keep that in mind too. Of course I will take your advice seeing as how you're on staff here, however I would have hoped you'd see the difference between spamming a site and providing content to YOUR userbase. Not to mention the only time I advertised was at the permission of your own staff...Oh well, so much for being friendly I guess?

    Looking Towards a New Horizon

Hey guys! With the permission of the staff, I've come to announce that Yoda, Vader, TT, and I have launched the new site: Brick Horizon. The purpose of this site is to be a community in the ways we remembered, where we can do things the way we'd like to (with the contributions of the community of course). We've been working on this site, in some form or another for several months now, and while it is still a WIP in many senses, we wanted to launch it and let the community get together and help influence and shape it as we grow. We're going to have several additions and surprises in the coming days, so feel free to register Oh, and we'll also have this little thing called the TIE Army if you're interested

    Looking Towards a New Horizon

And many thanks! I'm sure will love it (especially since we're in the tedious process of making smilies ) You'll always be welcome there should you choose to stop by

    Looking Towards a New Horizon

It started four days ago, so yeah it's young :P Nearly 80 members after edit days isn't half bad ;) I'm loving the pace Edit: Forgot about the weekend Man it went by fast Thankfully things always pick up during the week

    Looking Towards a New Horizon

We already have some set reviews up, and you definitely can expect more in the near future. As for the age rule, it's pretty lax. As long as people can behave and not spam, etc., they're welcome on the site. We do have Vader and Yoda keeping the peace afterall

    Looking Towards a New Horizon

Ah, well while we probably would have done that regardless for (as mentioned obvious reasons), that was requested by several people while we were making the forum. There's no need for it anyway, if people want Fabuland, they have Eurobricks It's a long story that sadly would get this topic closed if I talked about it, so best to leave it alone here. As for making a big deal, I don't think we have at all. We just didn't feel we could continue on here any more, as so we made a new home for ourselves, and any friends that wanted to join. We wish nothing but the best for EB, and hold nothing against any of their members. That's the unfortunate problem with having everything kept hush hush, but that was the decision of the staff here and we need to respect that. The problem was substantial though, I can assure you of that. As for what's worth it, that's entirely up to you, nobody's twisting your arm to join I just posted this here at the request of Hinckley so that any of our friends who wanted to, could stop by. There are a lot of familiar faces, and a bunch of new ones too, though We do have some exciting things coming up in this next week however, so be sure to watch for 'em

    Looking Towards a New Horizon

You mean Bionicle? I know you do like that theme, and while there are many users who are able to carry on entirely mature discussions about the theme like you said, for some reason that decision was made. Keep in mind that the forum is still very much in it's infancy, and many things are likely to change. Who knows, that might be one of them If of course that's all you're really looking for I'd have to point you to BZP

    What Has Happened Here?

That is to be sure But while the communities have split, there doesn't need to be any further fighting over it. Those who choose to come and enjoy the new community at Brick Horizon are more than welcome to, and those who don't wish to shouldn't feel pressured to. Being a member to either site doesn't need to be mutually exclusive, as many people have found out

    Looking Towards a New Horizon

Well you need to do what feels best for you at any given time. We all need to have our 'homes' Great having you! Like above, if you want to e-mail me I can get you around that Yeah I agree...so far we've gotten nothing but good comments about the design. Although taking a step to make a fresh, unique design often scares people afraid of change from the standard If you have any suggestions of course, you're free to make them. As long as you put some thought into it of course

Yeah I saw, you should have introduced yourself! And people's avatars are totally up to them The fabuland thing was actually by request of some people as we were forming the site Sorry! But fabuland has a home here already

Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!

Beautiful ship man! You were telling me about it at the event but that didn't do this a lick of justice the hull looks impressive to be sure, and I'm in love with that capstan (I guess it brings in the anchor?). Maaaan, talk about a naval SHIP, I can't wait to see more updates on this baby!
  21. Starwars4J

The event - the story (part II)

Hardly! You guys ran to do it the second we weren't there. Somebody was scared it seems USA
  22. Well this is weird, I was told that I was back like ten times, each time only to find that I indeed was still banned. I've no idea why I am back though I actually only logged in to answer that topic about me being unbanned, only to see that it was very quickly locked without explanation Well that doesn't really surprise me given how everything has been treated in the first place, so hush-hush So I'll answer the questions here! 1. No I didn't appeal to be unbanned. I believe someone else might have, and it took a few tries to get it right. Unbanning people must have become very tricky I see 2. As for why I was banned? I would say, but then the Men in Black would come for me Or this topic would be locked/deleted, whatever. I'm sure everything will come out eventually, but don't worry current administration, I've no desire to start any trouble. I'm still pissed off at the way my friends and I were treated no doubt, but there is a time and a place for everything. So yeah, I'm back I guess. I won't really post here much, but it'll be a good way to keep in touch with old friends with whom I was suddenly cut off from, as well as the occasional bit of news. Oh, and could someone fix my access? For some reason I can see the chamber (at least you changed it from "Stop being an megablocks"). I just think it's funny since I never was in the chamber in the first place, so I've no idea how I got access at all! Must have been someone having fun who forgot to switch it back
  23. Starwars4J

    Hey there, I'm kinda new...

I guess I should be glad that you stopped? Ah wow, that's really cool. Thanks! Like I said I'm just here for once-in-a-blue-moon type of things but I'll make sure to look for your topics Well it's undergoing a slight redesign as I noticed a small conflict between sharper angles and the smooth dome, so I'm moving things around to try and keep everything God be willing it will be done sometime during the summer I'm only 22 But I do love nerfs At least you didn't call me "scruffy looking"
  24. Starwars4J

    Hey there, I'm kinda new...

Of course I'm kidding I believe you and bonaparte signed up at about the same time. I haven't been gone that long Looks nice! Technic frames are always fun to work with, they're necessary for truly monstrous SHIPs. They do tend to be difficult to work with interior wise, as far as being able to show it and fit it around a sturdy frame, so I'll be interested in seeing how you develop it! Very interesting shape you're working with, I look forward to the finished product!
  25. Starwars4J

    Hey there, I'm kinda new...

Norro! Deja vu! Egads, you're that Siegfried? I thought that was a different walrus with a blue bucket. I think I'm getting a complex now Too early for pictures? There's no such thing! You didn't see that stop me from pics of my crap MOCs As for the gravity ces't la vi, I hope they at least have magnet boots or a treadmill to keep their muscles from atrophy?
