As usual your vegetation is excellent Monsinjor. This is a lovely build. I particularly like the curvy wall.

How about this then? These 2x2's are just suspended from the white plate above them. They are not attached to the plate (tile) below.

It looks really effective atkaforce! Coincidentally I started work on a Tram/Street Car myself last night, but after seeing this one I going to have to go back and improve it.

You're right! I'll try some 2-brick high ones tonight and see how they look. My approach for building 7-wides basically involves 1x2 jumper plates on the main longitudinal 2x plate and building up from there. I was a bit limited in LBG plates so the interior is a hodgepodge of cross beams and strengthening bits. To be honest it's pretty ugly. Thanks, the Camper is a great base to use for building your own vehicle on top - just don't forget to post pictures and share the results with us. Thanks for all the comments!

Now that made me LOL. Good looking vignette.

The curved roof is excellent! and the entire MOC looks like the source building. I like how you've 'shown your work' alongside images of the MOC. And finally I think anyone who has displayed works in public will recognise the excess damage in transit on the return trip home.

Just the other day I was wondering what you were working on! Wow! I would never have guessed that you were working on this. At first glance it's so different from your usual style, but then I see the attention to detail, the fantastic creations in the interiors, and the open back. Bravo! Snaillad it is excellent.

Are you sure about those THE MYSTERY MACHINE stickers across the doors? Those look like turquoise hinge plates and unless TLG has come up with a new 2x1x4 brick in green I'm not sure how it can be done without STAMPS

What kind of budget do you set?
eurotrash replied to TheLegoViking's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I do have a set monthly budget of around $100, but there will be times when there are sales and bargains to be picked up. So if I splurge one month then I'll make sure that the next month I'm a bit more cautious. It all evens out in the end and I since emerging from my Dark Ages my overall spending is less than that set budget. I find it useful to keep track (via an Excel spreadsheet) on what I've been buying. -
I've been offered cash for my modular MOCs on a few occasions. When these offers have come from other AFOLs they have been reasonable in terms of the amount ($0.12-$0.20 per piece), when they have come from the general public they have been woefully inadequate ($0.02-$0.05 per piece). I think any offer need to obviously cover the actual brick cost of the MOC, but should also cover some degree of your time and effort. Disclaimer: So far I've not accepted any offer for any of my MOCs.

No worries old man! I'll message them and let you know what I can discover. You want a phone number name, maybe a website yes?
-
Hey Andy. You could also ding them on Facebook. Here's a link to their page https://www.facebook.com/groups/207697825986715

Wow! That's very impressive. Congratulations on winning that competition.

Here;'s a link to the BL announcement. http://alpha.brickli...ge?msgid=878137 "Through this collaboration, the threshold will be lower for MOC production in efforts to increase the number of custom MOCs available for consumers. You will be able to discover new MOCs on CUUSOO collected from all over the Internet and cast a vote for a specific model. Once the number of votes reaches 100, the MOC will be reviewed by BrickLink for commercialization. Alternatively, you can directly upload to MOC Shop if you already have your own creation. Kohei Nishyama, CEO of CUUSOO, stated, “We would like to work on this project to cultivate a new, organic brick community that will last a long time using our legacy and brand.” “I am just happy to serve the LEGO community with our services,” expressed Jay Kim, CEO of BrickLink. The joint project has attracted builders like Masao Hidaka, the builder of LEGO Piano which currently gained more than 9,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. You can visit CUUSOO BRICK at https://cuusoo.com/brands/cuusoo-brick. Please extend our invitation to your family, friends, and other LEGO designers. – CUUSOO + BrickLink Staff" and to the cuusoo page itself https://cuusoo.com/brands/cuusoo-brick It'll be interesting to see how this pans out.

Which set is the one you enjoyed building the most?
eurotrash replied to BlackVagrant's topic in Community
That gets my vote too. It's a large, complex build with some great techniques, some fine engineering principles demonstrated in Lego and excellent playability. Best. Set. Evah! -
Yeah I was joking on Flickr that you could combine the two buildings into one and make PETALS (a flower shop) or STAPLES (an office supply company).

Totally digging the asymmetrical swooshiness of this plastic_ati! It's instantly recognizable. It's a ridiculously difficult plane with crazy proportions to recreate AND you've managed to achieve it with just the pieces from another set! Bravo! I am impressed.

They could be out of stock if everyone is having to buy multiple copies to make something they're happy with As for me. I finished my build the other night and I'm pleased with it. Sure, the blue color is a bit garish and the size a bit on the small side, but there's plenty of interior minibuilds that are interesting, there's some great detailing, a bit of humour and overall I think it's better than the TH and definitely an improvement on the GE. Having said that I will be modding it. First, I'm swapping out the blues on the front for the brownyfleshy bricks from the side of the Office, then I'm probably going to remove the escape ladder area and move that inset wall to the front of the facade. Then after that I'm not sure but IMHO having a limited set of bricks to use and seeing what you can come up with is way more interesting and challenging than throwing additional bricks (and money) to supersize it.

<insert sound of jaw hitting the floor> Wow! Is there anything you guys can't build?

Another good looking wintery-offroad vehicle. Nice photographs too.

The 2x2 tiles are Dark Bluish Gray http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3068 The 1x6 tiles are Light Bluish Gray http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6636 Here's a link to the color-palette. You'll notice that some of the older colors are no longer available (particularly the older grays). Just stick with Dark Blue Gray and Light Blue Gray and you'll be fine. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp Good luck!

When I saw the Thread title I thought you'd built one of these But that's a 141 and not a 138. I do like yours - it looks swooshable.

Great idea for a display and really well executed. You might have problems exceeding this next year though
