LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
gherkin replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
not wanting to stir it up, but does it really matter? Does it matter if pieces of plastic are white, brown, black, yellow, male, female etc etc, at the end of the day they are minifigs with helmets on. Most if not all of the time being a display piece (i'm certainly not letting my kids play with an $800 set) its going to be set in one position with the minifigs in the AT-AT or displayed at the bottom. -
I have to admit, having worked with Radar waveguide, that is quite impressive. Can you create a rotating joint though???

Ghostbusters 30th Anniversary CUUSOO set Discussion
gherkin replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in LEGO Licensed
Ah that could have been why then, I just found it quite bizarre that she wasn't allowed to tell me, indicating that it was top secret and all that!! -

Evening Guys, did try and search for this but for some reason it wouldn't allow me to. Basically does anyone know when we can expect this in the UK, the only reason I ask is I tried to ask in the Lego shop in Newcastle (UK) and was told that they weren't allowed to tell me. Would one presume that it is coming very soon? I even asked her that if she couldn't tell me could she hint (ie in a month or two months......no!!) Never had that before -
10241 Maersk Line Triple-E (Sticker Sheet)
gherkin replied to gherkin's topic in Special LEGO Themes
In all fairness, looking at real pictures of the Triple E all the containers are different colours, however a Maersk Container is either the light grey or darker grey, thus keeping the theme strictly Maersk -
10241 Maersk Line Triple-E (Sticker Sheet)
gherkin replied to gherkin's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Well I've just completed building it (haven't applied the stickers yet ;)), the containers as you can imagine were a little on the repetitive side, but once its all together it does look the part. I'm quite impressed with the bridge superstructure (is that a nautical term?), considering the scale a fair bit is in it. Once i've gone through all the photos I'll try an post a review up if people would like to see it. -
10241 Maersk Line Triple-E (Sticker Sheet)
gherkin replied to gherkin's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Not a problem from my point of view, i only took the photo for people who may have been curious. Will hopefully get some more up when I've completed the build - which has been quite straight forward at the moment which I imagine you can expect. -
10241 Maersk Line Triple-E (Sticker Sheet)
gherkin replied to gherkin's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Nope there are 108 of the dark grey ones, 18 of the clear ones, 4 stars, ships name, 2 company name for the side of the hull and the details one. In total 134 stickers to apply -
In case people were curious to know what the Triple-E's sticker sheet was like (apologies top right is a bit blurry, the sheet isn't perfectly flat):

Discussion Should LEGO make a Military Theme?
gherkin replied to KisKatona's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Just to throw it in there regarding reference to planes and ww1 they have produced the Sopwith Camel (twice), would be nice to see a fokker tri plane. Sets wise though, although nice I'm not fussed, would prefer to see detailed creator versions -
Whats the rarest/oldest piece of Lego you have in your collections?
gherkin replied to The Architect's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Don't think I have any rare bricks as such but I do own (although somewhere in my parents attic) the Classic Town Square Castle Scene along with the Star Fleet Voyager, from 1980/81 (owned since then as well) http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=1592-1 http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=6929-1 Come to think of it I don't think I've seen the trans-blue (4x8) canopy for a longtime, although I'm sure someone can probably correct me on that. -
thanks i'll give it a shot
-
my apologies for that, its quite a basic image (the horizontal part is the roof in case you weren't sure)
-
Evening guys, i'm trying to create a support for a roof that i'm creating and it involves pillars. Obviously create a vertical one is straight forward but I'm wanting to create one at an angle and i'm not entirely sure which bricks I would need. I've attached a file to show you what i'm on about. I've tried using Mr Google and the closest I've found is a tudor style house but it wasn't clear enough to work out what was used. thanks for the help :)

The ginger minifig for me, I like the slight orange detail on the jacket. Would go well with ford's orange focus st!!
