Nerwen and Matthias had become preccoupied with other entertainment, but Hybros still sat in his seat at the bar, examining Zoot's Reaper. Even with all its upgrades, the scythe held its original presence about it, sometimes whispering to the imp. It seemed to be reacting to something nearby. Hybros eyed Nerwen's pack cautiously. "Ehehm, I, well, my scythe, could not help but notice something in your possession. Do you know what that may be?"

Yeah I considered this way originally as well. The faction threads are important but we'll try to have the links in a good spot. Especially on mobile I know how annoying/confusing it is to scroll through 8 pinned topics.

To reduce clutter at the top of the forum. This topic won't ever not be at the top anyway so I felt it didn't need to be pinned.

~GC Note: Grogmas Gifts will close in about 8 hours. Get your lists in if you haven't already!~ Jinnipher also gets to writing out a list, reluctantly of course, but if it meant free items in return... She also had a case of her home's signature brew to distribute. Lind: The Art of Battle (WP:10, once thrown the wielder gains 5 power until it is retrieved. The wielder is allowed to use one free item when retrieved; throwing weapon) - Learn something useful from a book for a change. Karie: Hundred Hero Hymn (Doubles the current and maximum health for the rest of the party for the remainder of the round. Stacks with the inspired-effect. Costs 2 ether per ally.) - To help you be a more inspiring leader. Arthur: Dragon Scale (consumable, grants lucky- and blessed-effects) - Something to commemorate your... friend. Siercon: Feathers of Garuda Wings (permanent upgrade, raises power by 5 every time the wielder flies, resets with hero's fly multiplier; suitable to Winged Warriors) - I really do hope you get your wings, some day. Vindsval: Mooneshine (consumable, all DoT effects (poisoned, bleeding, burning, etc.) are reduced to one damage per round each for the duration of one battle) - A drink brewed in Moone that's so strong it'll heal any lasting ailments. You sure you can handle it, big guy? Thormanil: Mooneshine (consumable, all negative DoT effects (poisoned, bleeding, burning, etc.) are reduced to one damage per round each for the duration of one battle) - A drink brewed in Moone that's so strong it'll heal any lasting ailments. Terry: Mooneshine (consumable, all negative DoT effects (poisoned, bleeding, burning, etc.) are reduced to one damage per round each for the duration of one battle) - A drink brewed in Moone that's so strong it'll heal any lasting ailments. I know you won't be able to handle this stuff, kid. Save it for when you're older. Pretzel: Mooneshine (consumable, all negative DoT effects (poisoned, bleeding, burning, etc.) are reduced to one damage per round each for the duration of one battle) - A drink brewed in Moone that's so strong it'll heal any lasting ailments. It's pretty much holy water, monk. Skrall: Mooneshine (consumable, all negative DoT effects (poisoned, bleeding, burning, etc.) are reduced to one damage per round each for the duration of one battle) - A drink brewed in Moone that's so strong it'll heal any lasting ailments. A classic vintage from Moone, even you can appreciate that. Warlen: Mooneshine (consumable, all negative DoT effects (poisoned, bleeding, burning, etc.) are reduced to one damage per round each for the duration of one battle) - A drink brewed in Moone that's so strong it'll heal any lasting ailments. A classic vintage from Moone, even you can appreciate that.

Hey Soccerkid, really nice MOC! I love how you built the ground with plates and the very detailed building facades. The colorful accents work well here. It's great how you fit so much detail into the small interiors. I also wanted to say how impressive it is to have seen your progress on MOCing since you joined this site a few years back. It's very encouraging for people who don't have much experience in building MOCs to see great stuff like this as a result of hard work and practice. Keep up the good work, and good luck in the CCC.

"I am surprised you only have nine, having been a part of Heroica for so long, Nerwen. Perhaps a short visit to the Fields of Glory might be in order. I am looking to gain a little bit of experience myself, although I think they are occupied for now. I would also like to test out Zoot's Reaper in its completed form... heheh." He held out his scythe to show it off. The mythril blade gleamed a silvery-blue even in the golden candlelight of the Hall.

"Hm." Hybros wondered at his own age. "I think I am about as old as your ancestor was. I think imps live about the same amount of time, under normal circumstances, heheh. I have certainly outlived my expectations considering the beating we take out in the field..." He took a sip of tea. "It must be some burden to carry, having both the spell of the Valkyrie's artifact and the power of the Fountain of Youth. You can not die from old age, sickness, or combat." "What is stopping you now? I am sure the Copper Fox would be willing to help."

Hybros puts his quill to scroll and begins writing out a list. Boomingham: Fire-distilled Brandy (causes encouraged and immune-to-fire effects for one battle) - To keep warm and rosy in this cold weather. Guts: Sapphire - Wherever you are in the world may this help you sail swiftly and allow to return to Eubric on whim. Atramor: Demonsbane (artifact, accessory - wearer takes half damage from demons) - For the next time you encounter demons, may this protect you. Ellaria: Impish Artifact (has an unknown effect if used correctly) - A sacred gift from my people to you. I am not sure what it does but it is rooted in the very beginnings of our history. Nyx: Trendy Handbag (Protects from whichever negative effect was last inflicted in battle to someone else; accessory.) - I thought this might match your cloak. Skrall: Scattershot (weapon upgrade: when applied to a bow or crossbow, weapon permanently deals double WP if hero is in front row) - For close encounters. Matthias: Gnomish Epaulets (artifact, accessory, suitable to short heroes, grants Command) - A symbol of respect, these are quite fitting for you. Arthur: Lightning Rod (WP:10, wielder takes half of the damage that would be applied to parter members at the cost of 5 SP per hit (resets at end of battle); lightning-elemental lance) - Your bravery has not gone unnoticed. Thalion: Shield of Elvenkind (SP:10, restores 1 ether to wielder every time they take damage; shield) - It appears you could use better defensive equipment. Dyric: Hero's Heart (when used will auto-revive hero to full health and bestow the encouraged-effect) - For desperate moments requiring your heroics.

"Flatter? Perhaps to some but the world seems larger than ever to me, heheh. I have been to Azazot and back and many places in between - even the land of the dead. Perhaps the places you have visited do not yet have color or the influence to make it. I have heard of such things like the islands of Tridentia - a simple fruit was able to provide them with color. Perhaps there you will find a solution." Hybros inspected Matthias with interest. "And, ehehm, just how old is that?"
-
Hybros joined familiar company at the bar, greeting Dyric, Matthias, and Nerwen. "Dyric is right, we have all grown since our first quests. Nerwen, you must remember that time we fought an archdemon below this city. And Dyric, our first encounter with Wren was even far before you defeated her, which was years ago. We have only just recently quested together Matthias but you must feel older even now, as I do. The ordeals of our profession weigh heavily on our time... heheh."

The setting is fantasy medieval - so probably some dusty wooden chairs and a few overused couches and fireplace lounge chairs would do. You can see pictures in the first post of the Hall topic. Feel free to add your own flavor as well, this is everyone's game to contribute after all. As long as you're not having your character swing from chandeliers or setting the place on fire or anything ridiculous like that it should be fine, and if it isn't people will tell you.
-
It's good to see a fresh face! It seems like you already have a good grasp on how the game works, but feel free to ask questions if you're ever unsure of anything. Hopefully there will be some new quests soon, so make yourself at home in the meantime.

Jinnipher strolled into Hinckwell Villa, imagining to herself that she had charmed her way right past the guards. She held herself in her usual manner, tall and chin held high with swaying hips, a slight fold in her brow which gave rugged texture to an otherwise flawlessly pale and smooth elven face. Save of course, for her distinctive freckles that clung below her almond-colored eyes like stars beneath the moon. She strode towards whoever happened to be loitering in the foyer with a rolled-up scroll in her clutch. "It's time I picked a side and we moved toward something worth fighting for in this city. Since the Bonapartes seem among the only competent people around, I'm drawing a line in the sand. Eubric will never truly be free if we don't protect the people in it and we're constantly relying on swords for hire, or at least competent ones like me, to save the world. We need order and a chain of command. The old man at least has some experience being king, so I'm fine with his leadership. As long as his mind hasn't gone soft like his belly and is as strong of a military leader as he says he is." She held out the scroll and crossed her arms. "Anyway, I need this signed as a token of my allegiance." Jinnipher uses her Letter of Recommendation for the Bonapartes and joins the Sungold Alliance! She also cuts ties with the Ji Pei.

Hybros entered the Hall, his newly-upgraded scythe hanging over his shoulder. He peered around looking for some old company. Seeing none, he headed to the fireplace with a steaming mug of tea to contemplate by himself. Some sense of concern and discomfort hovered above his head like a cloud, reflecting the dreary weather outside.

GC Note: I've tried to contact CMP but he hasn't been online for almost two weeks without notice (and hasn't updated this quest in three weeks) so I'm going to step in and postpone the conclusion for him. If/when he returns you can probably pick up where you left off. For now the players are welcome to return to the Hall and post in any out-of-quest topics. Best wishes to CMP, hope he's alright.

REVIEW: 71014 LEGO Minifigures - DFB Football Series 2016
JimBee replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thanks for the wonderful review, WhiteFang. I think it's awesome that LEGO did this, and if I were a football player I'd love to get my hands on the immortalized version of myself. The unique face prints and hairpieces are awesome as well. Now do a series for the NFL? I wouldn't even mind that much if it was the Patriots. -
For now let's say all of us as we're just finding our feet and should all be on the same page. Thanks for the welcome, everyone. All three of us have been around since day 1 (well, of Heroica being public anyway), so I feel that we have the experience to facilitate this game. With everyone's help, of course - as mentioned we need new blood and more QMs. If you have ideas, send them our way. We're currently discussing what direction to take. Your feedback in here over the last couple days has been valuable and we will take everything into consideration, so keep it coming!

Yep. Best game ever. Though you'll notice a few subtle differences I never tried to hide the connection.

"That is generally how time works, yes."

Dejected from yet another failed deal, Jinnipher rises from her seat and goes to sit alone at the bar. "Hmph."

Hybros found himself at the Crescent Union headquarters which were, for the moment, hosted in the Shadeaux Manor. Guts was nowhere to be found and Jun Ji Pei was the faction leader. The imp thought to himself how they arrived at this point. Not that it mattered - nothing had changed in Eubric so far and Baba was dead. It seemed the problems of the city were stirring and fermenting on their own accord, regardless of who was in charge. There was a purpose greater than thoughtful reflection to Hybros' visit. He sought out the Crescent Union merchant and purchased a Tritech Upgrade. Suddenly the imp felt a tap on his shoulder. "It has been some time, Hybros. Two years, eleven months and twenty-two days to be exact. I see you have just purchased one of the Tritech's very own weapon upgrades, designed by Vincent Legonardo himself! He would be proud to see it in action if he weren't on the opposite hemisphere of this planet." Nicole Telsa pushed her glasses up her nose. "Regardless, I can install that upgrade for you. To which weapon would you like it attached to?" "Oh, ehehm, yes I would like that very much." Hybros held out Zoot's Reaper. The curved sword whispered quietly to the imp, seeming eager for another upgrade. He also pulled out a chunk of Ancient Amber. "If you could perhaps work this in somehow, too, I would be most grateful, heheh..." Nicole examined the mineral. "What a curious specimen. I would be interested in analyzing it for a source and dating it. It could provide great insight to creatures who roamed Olegaia millennia ago!" Seeing the puzzled look on Hybros' face, the scientist conceded. "Or, I could just get to work, of course." After several hours Telsa emerged from her workstation with a gleaming scythe, much different in appearance than Zoot's Reaper's original incarnation. "I'm no blacksmith, but I must say your weapon is made up of quite the material. When I was installing the upgrade, your sword morphed into a scythe right before my eyes! What's more, it seemed to absorb our technology and incorporate it flawlessly in its design, along with the chunk of amber. I have never seen such technology in my life! I would surely like to examine and study it for... oh, right, ahem, you need it for fighting." She let out a sigh and handed the weapon over to Hybros. The mythril-infused blade shone in the light as a bright blue-silver. "Now, a few important features: 1. The mythril you already installed should prove plenty durable for any occasion. You will also find the blade to be incredibly sharp. 2. Whatever venom you spread over the original weapon is now concentrated in the barbs along the grip part of the staff. Deadly! Just don't poke yourself with them... 3. Our upgrade has added twin ax wings to the back part of the blade. They automatically adjust angle and rotation according to your position and swing for maximum armor-piercing capability. 4. The amber and electronic enhancements make the weapon naturally effective against undead and ancient enemies. 5. The very nature of your scythe is quite unique. I am confident that you will be able to change its form again, though I am not sure how you would do that. With these qualities in mind and the naming specifications of its constituent upgrades, I propose the following name for your weapon: Zoot's Ancient Reaper - Mythril Crimsamber Mk V (WP:30, damages undead, double damage to Ancient enemies, pierces SP, deals poisoned-7 and cursed; scythe, suitable to Hybros). ...Any questions?" Hybros shook his head and beheld the magnificent scythe. After saying his praise, thanks, and goodbyes, he departed for the Marketplace.

"All I have is another Opal that I'd have to take out of my sword. Myrrh... I don't know. I think it makes you feel tingly and if spellcasting is your thing, it helps with that." Jinnipher rolled her eyes, but then smirked. "Don't tell me you've ever had the pleasure of fruitful negotiation in your long, illustrious career, monk. I'm sure you were once ripe and voluptious, long ago." The moon elf frowned. "I don't have any of those precious items you're looking for. Now look, I offered a good deal. If the monk doesn't have anything better to offer than you'd better accept mine."
-
"Just Jinnipher. I might have the looks, but I'm no lady." She rests a manicured hand on the gnome's shoulder, having to bend over slightly. Her elven genes lent themselves to a tall and slender form. "Your hat says you're a gentleman but that cannon twice the twice of you would suggest otherwise. Let's have a drink over it, shortcake." She waved for a couple of meads to be brought over.
-
"Hold it right there." Jinnipher strode over to the gnome and monk bartering over a gem. "I'm prepared to offer 300 gold and this Myyrh for that Ethereal Opal."
-
I think you're only able to imbue one per item.
