WW Category 2: 1908 Wild West Town

I voted for the Saloon, as it is a great choice to start with and it occupies a corner, just like the Corner Cafe. Do each of your buidings in the Western Town require a 10,000 vote or is one 10,000 vote enough to guarantee that the entire set of five buildings will be made?

What a superb model, and even better is the innovative brain behind it. All I can say is that this is just fantastic. I will have to register at Cussoo and vote for it. Well done the genius who has designed this.
  3. I used to live in one of these in the 1970s and 1980s. Superb designing and artwork. I love the model. Is there any way I could get one like this?
  4. Absolutely beautiful. All you guys who design scenes like that are genuises!
  5. Hi, I just bought a few items from the Lego online store under the "Hard to Find" section. I am somewhat confused because when I phoned the Lego store, I was told that they had large enough quantities of many items. How can these items be "Hard to Find" when they are easily available from Lego themselves, let alone places like eBay and Bricklink?

    Future Star Wars Sets

Jabba the Hut with his throne, like the one Sideshow Collectibles did some years back.
  7. It's the Sydney Opera House. The shape suggests this and you can see the "S" on its name plate.
  8. Lego should be a hobby and not an investors. It is not fair for an investor to stack up, thereby creating demand and the inflating prices for future new collectors. I just became an AFOL a few days ago and have already spent a huge amount of money buying sets such as the Statue of Liberty, Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, Cafe Corner and other modular houses. I don't think it is fair.
  9. Dear All, I am a newbie here. I have downloaded LDD and have transferred some LXF files to it. I like the software. However, being a novice I am struggling to design a model of my own house on it. Are there any software tools available that would allow me to upload a photo of my house in jpeg format or as Adobe Illustrator files, and then have the photo or Illustrator file used as a design? In Adobe Illustrator one can import a photo and use the tracing command to create the image in SVG format. I was wondering if there is any Lego design software on similar lines. Thanks.
  10. Lego has so far released Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal and Tower Bridge as their large sets. Which Lego category do these belong to? I am a new AFOL. Am I missing out on any sets that are from this category? When will the next set in the same category be released and which one will it be?

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Does anyone know when R2D2 (#10225) will be released? When will the photos be available?
  12. Dear Everyone, I am new on this forum and I hope you guys can help me. As a child I built many Lego sets, but I am now much older. In fact, way much older, and my taste has now changed for the the larger Lego sets. Unfortunately I have only recently started collecting Lego sets as a serious collector. I have just bought the Tower Bridge from Lego via their website and I paid nearly $1000 to buy a Taj Mahal on eBay. I would love to have a Statue of Liberty (3450) and an Eiffel Tower (10181) in my collection but I am now nearly broke and there is no way that I can afford to pay $4500 for the Statue of Liberty or $1500 for the Eiffel Tower on eBay or other websites. I have downloaded building instructions for these two sets and I also have a parts list for these. The problem is that the Statue of Liberty in particular is made up of sand green coloured bricks and these are not available through the Lego's Pick a Brick store. However, a lot of these sand green bricks are available through Lego's missing parts webpage. To build a Statue of Liberty I will actually need a huge amount of these bricks. Do you think Lego can supply me with these? Do you guys have any other ideas? Why can't Lego re-release these sets? Do you know of any plans to re-release them? If so, then when? Any info or assistance regarding what I have mentioned above will be appreciated. Regards, ub40
