    Review: 6081 King's Mountain Fortress

Well, amazing review! This set brings me back memories. I never had it, but I had the same baseplate (with different patterns, though) and I always wanted to build castle like this. It is beautiful, playable... it is just great. But i voted Above Average, because this isn't the very best castle TLC has produced.

    Skyrim: Regaining The Pale

I used to... xD Great tower and beautiful, charming scene. My only complain is about that little bricked road. I think you should put tiles and other 1x1 round ones on the main plate, and then using some white plates make that road look more realistic. Anyway, great tribute to Elder Scrolls.

    The Future of Ninjago

Well guys you have quite good statements, and it is quite true. But if I have child I would never buy him a Ninjago set. I believe that for every kid is more suitable some more friendly and constructive things, maybe like old castle and western, with lot of space to build something on your own with simplier and more basic bricks. Playing with other kids is always a competiton for young boy, but that competiton shouldn't be some sort of fighting area, it just can be building better building, vehicle etc. Ninjago isn't creative, it is not creative at all. Just look those flying vehicles and that last boat. They are using very complicated techniques in order to get perfect shape. There is smaller amount of basic bricks which are most usable in kids creations. Their mind cannot build shapes in 3D so realistic, especially machines, boats, planes etc, so SNOT technique isn't quite usable. In sets there are just battle scenes between some machines and few minifgs, there isn't any creative stuff. So we can see that main point in those sets isn't creating and building, it is fight. Maybe I am sounding like some old nanny, but it is true. Also young kids are egocentric (egocentric is not the same as egoistic), they are expecting that everyone should see as they see things around them. They are unexperienced so they cannot understand books and movies like LoTR, Harry Potter etc. For me they are good books to spent time, but they have no impact on my mental health. For kids, themes like LoTR (and here ninjago) are quite disturbing. Maybe there will be no consenquences in future mental health for child that has been reading such books, and playing with some violent toys, but I don't think they are suitable for them. Yeah, and people (and parents) like this theme. Someone said that Ninjago is best-seller theme last Christmas, but that is for me quite upsetting. Kids are now playing more violently, a lot of kids are using computer since they early age and all the time they playing cruel games. Old ways of playing, like building some castles, houses etc. helps developing kids mind, they becoming more interested in simplier math (they count lego slopes to get better shape :) ) and constructing.

    The Future of Ninjago

I will not quote anyone, just will explain my opinion once more, 'cause I don't want to argue with any who has different opinion than me - De gustibus non est disputandum. My opinion is that kids shouldn't be teached to hate someone else, and that is excluding every toy which is connected to war or something similar (like fantasy stuff etc.). It is just not good for them. We could see now that there is lot more agressive kids than 20-30 years ago, even in countries were they couldn't see any war consequences. Every psychologist will tell you that kids become more aggressive and violent when they are playing with guns and toys which are connected to war. And that is quite logical, 'cause the kids in they early ages spent most of their time playing... especially boys. And there is a bigger number toys in couple past years (since 90s) which are somehow connected with guns and violency.. And now LEGO does that. Ninjago is quite more "aggressive" than any other theme before, because there is a lot of scary monsters, violent story etc. It is called "fantasy", but kids imagination shouldn't be connected with some unrealistic creatures fighting each other. And someone asked me why Ninjago isn't creative. As you can see from set boxes, the minifigs are quite aggresive and main point of sets and spinners is that creatures should fight... And that is not good. Castle, Adventurers and Western sets weren't so violent. Minifigs weren't so aggressive, main point of sets is to build something realistic and fun, and battles there were against realistic bad guys. I am saying all this because LEGO bricks are supposed to be educative toy, suitable for KIDS! (sorry for my bad english, it is not my first language..)

    The Future of Ninjago

This whole ninjago line is quite big fail for TLC. First, I don't understand what age of kids should play with this? It's not suitable for younger boys 'cause it have a lot of inapropriate creatures, stories about killing etc. It has gone too far from LEGO main idea of creative playing. This Ninjago theme couldn't be placed anywhere in human history (maybe some SF Post-apoc, but..), it has no eductional purpose and those vehicles and creatures are quite stupid, even they are builded from lego basic bricks. Story is just taken form TMNT and similar cartoons... For AFOLs this theme is great, because it comes with lot of interesting and useful parts in different colours, new minifigs etc. But I think TLC Designer Team made this theme for younger players, not MOC builders. Previous Ninja theme was much better, even bulidings and vehicles weren't so complicated. But they did have playability and eductional purpose.
