Well, I have good news and bad news... First the good! I completed construction on the Sentinel Eclipse today... It is a combination of 2 Rogue Shadows. so technically it would fall into the mods catagory... But being ever so unhappy with the limited parts, I added additional parts. It looks good, but I have a problem. I will not be able to post pictures until my lovely wife comes back, bringing her camera with her. She will be back on May 12, so I will strive to post pics as soon as I can that following Tuesday. Some FYI... Eclipse has 2 hyperdrives... Two missile launchers for a total of 4 rockets... Two storage compartments that can be used to carry cargo up to 12 studs in length or up to six additional troops... two weapons racks with two weapons each... A highly detailed intelligence gathering suite plus a command and control station for Major General Jax... Is equipped with a cloaking device... and still manages to have landing gear. I hope waiting for the pics will be worth it... But if I can find the back up digital camera, it may shorten the wait.

Now that you have the your MTT, I would suggest buying up as many bp's as possible... And I wouldn't worry about ask wither which to buy, as you seem to have a rare love for mechanical minions... Also, I don't think that the Imperial/Republic Army picture thread is strictly exclusive. I would say feel free to post pictures of your amassing army.

Just got the Brickmaster catalog in the mall today. While looking at the back page, it states that the Nov-Dec, and Jan-Feb sets will be Star Wars... hurray!!! Might have to get this in November than... Not a Bionicle fan, and whilst Indy is cool, not so sure I need a jeep!

Before today, I thought that I had scene some really cool stuff. I might have even believed I myself had concocted some cool stuff. I can now no longer feel that same way. Impressive can not begin to describe your moc's, nor can any word in our English language. I hope Lego will look into this genre of creation, though I digress, because in all honesty, Lego could never produce anything this spectacular... as your work. A sincere set of master pieces ( )... Hmmm.... Difficult your question is... on how best to proceed. I would go bp's if you have the chance to later raise sufficient funds for the MTT later. Here is why. The bps are drying up quickly... Whats more, if you could even find 7 bps, it would be good anyway. I am not sure where you live, but have you possibly considered the Internet. Some sites even offer free shipping. I have seen one or two sites that offer the droid bps for $8.99 us because they don't sale as fast as clonies. If you managed to snag 7, you might have almost enough with tax-free and free shipping, (you have to pay tax at the store, so you might only have enough or 6) to buy 8. If, however, you will not be able to purchase the MTT further down he road, wait till you have the money to do so... It is the far cooler choice, and heck, any droid army without an MTT wouldn't be a droid army.

I would be willing to join... but would like to carry on a bit of Jax into this as well... Palin Jax and the Shadow 501st... Former Senior Clone Commander and design engineer that has gone renegade, now working from the Shadows... I am still hashing out the details for a full back story... And he would briefly fade in and out of the story line, like his MO suggests. Palin is a Dark Paladin, who believes in justice and truth, but will sometimes employ methods a bit on the darker side of nice. If this will not work for you, let me know, but I really do feel a bit of disappointment that Vader and Xwing have stepped down, (not towards them though, as I consider them very good friends), and out of my very sincere and great respect for them, do not at this time wish to be very active here in the threads. But that being said, I still love the bricks, and you guys aren't so bad yourselves...

Hmmm... In light of this situation, I feel it best to hold out until my friends, Vader and Xwingyoda, decided which and to what capacity they feel they would like to interact not only within this thread but on this site. Trivia: Though not confirmed, it has been theorized that Anakin's father might have been Darth Plagueis, Palpatine's former master. Plagueis discovered the secret of using the Force to create life. Palpatine intensely desired such knowledge, and he murdered his master when he thought he had learned everything. However, it's possible that Plagueis' dying act was to reach out into the Force and create a child that would one day grow to destroy Palpatine. The reason I bring this up is for the last sentence... which I have neither ever considered nor thought relevant. But after reading this, and on a gaming website, a thought did occur to me. If the gaming world is beginning to yammer about Anakin's parentage, does it mean that another revaluation is about to be unleashed as well. Anakin's father may or may not be established in your individual minds, but, if Darth Plagueis is his real father, and it was for just so kind of an act, yet Anakin should be the chosen one, and then this act would also be the fulfillment of prophesy, where does it leave us? Ah yes... Now to the crux of the problem. Repeatedly, characters, Jedi and Sith alike, both allude to destiny. What then is destiny, and who is therefore setting it. To steal a righteous line from another epic though highly underrated sci-fi film, plans within plans within plans... Also, EVERYTHING in Star Wars points to either good or evil... We may pretend that as groups we can set moral codes and ethics, however, you can always find some guy... or gal, to disagree and set the bar lower, or sometimes hopefully, higher. If good and evil exist, and destiny is a believed in concept in the Star Wars universe, something is setting it that way. Anakin did bring balance to the force... The EU is what began the new Jedi Praxium, but the saga ends with the Death of the Chosen one... I can not remember where, it might be in the movie commentary of Revenges itself, but George states that Anakin is the chosen one. That is fact!!! Yoda states that "a prophesy misread that might have been." This then firmly implies that the Jedi received the prophesy, but misunderstood it's true implications. I therefore state that the Force is cognazant... capable of it's own volition to make conscious decisions, but may not be as powerful as a god construct... but still then begs then to be understood to what level it may be aware.

Hmmm... As a former member of the US Navy , I can assure you that we went through 2 significant Uniform changes during my six years, and were also forced to add printed names tags onto all our uniforms save dress. One of the changes, however, was mainly material to our dungarees. This however was reimbursed by the Navy Now, with the incredible savings of the TIE program, and strict grey paint only tactics, you would think that the Empire finally learned that those changes where costly, and as such, this was reflected by the standard Uniforms we see throughout the Saga... Again, this points to the... fiscal abuse of the decaying and morally challenged Republic. I firmly believe that all of the uniform changes we see in EP II an III finally bankrupted the Old Dinosaur, there by forcing Papaltine to speed up the inhalation of the Separatist. To pay for the outrageous debt incurred by those costly upgrades, our benevolent Emperor was reduced to wearing strictly in-ornate and cheap rags...

Since I am the uneducated imbecile that started this thread, I should address more closely what I meant in the first place. Yes, documentaries have discussed the idea that either Darth Plagues or Darth Sidious, and believe me, having explored each, both have been addressed as being responsible. The Ultimate question is, and then becomes by proxy, is the force cognizant? If so, how does the prophesy ultimately come to pass... First, the prophesy is addressed or at least alluded to in all 3 prequel movie. It is then a reasonably question to make as to who gave the prophesy, ie received or delivered it. Also what device or originator concocted it. If Anakin is a part of a prophesy, the Force itself would be the father. If the Sith are responsible for the making up of the prophesy, then the two likely candidates can then be addressed. Now I know Lucas is not trying to put any kind of quasi-religion into play... as Star Wars is strictly entertainment. But I think that Lucas does fancy himself to be amongst the great literary composers of mythical worlds, on par with Tolkien and Lewis... But, and here is my twist, both are Christian writers... So then, does the Force, if responsible for conceiving Anakin of it's own volition, then become akin to a god construct. The crux of my previous post pointed to this as an impossibility because Lucas blends aspects of evolution occurring on every different spices, but, if he uses the force as a deity... So, the Enigma remains... and will be expanded by The Force Unleashed.

Why do I like clones? I guess it started way back in the way back, when some old fossil was talking to the his would be padiwan, about the times before the dark times... The Clone Wars... Personal FYI, I was born the day after Star Wars changed the world... And all that time... at least when I was old enough to comprehend the concept, around 4 or 5 I'll say, I have been fascinated with what the Clone Wars could be. Now, I didn't start really liking the Empire straight off, and used to be a Rebel myself... Until I began to read the EU books that is. But I have always liked Vader. Empire, at least the scene on Cloud City with it's revelation of Vader's paternal plot twist firmly cemented my love of Star Wars at that point! I also really like Storm Troopers, and this is equally ingrained because of the Emperor's Arrival scene... which coincidentally is my major reason for Army Building, and takes the place of honor in both my heart and my collection. So, when I learned back in 1997 that good ol' George would be going back to fill in the gaps with One Two and Three, I was thrilled, because now, (at the time I was 20), I was finnally going to peer into an enigma that had been on my mind for most of my life! And, like millions of adoring fans... I cheered at the famous scrawl and went back 5 more times... to see this new revelation pertaining to my earliest childhood. Now I know that is an incredibly long winded response to a simple question, but please understand, the nature of the question requires a lengthy response. Now, as to why, well, Clonies are the Stormtroopers of the PT, but much cooler as it pertains to their color coding, rank system, individual armor types, and story. Plus, arguably, they are the good guys too for a while. And they don't miss near as much as Stormies. Now, I can not reasonably say I prefer Clones over Stormies, but I totally can say that the Battle Droids are truly mindless, and far lacking compared to abilities of a Clonie. Lego wise, they (Clones), will last longer, are better built, better ships, (though I do like the droid carriers in the bps slightly better), and overall, the droids lose in the end,and quickly fall over after assembly.

Well JimB... thats not a for sure as more an educated observation from past experience. They'll probably last up to the CW release, but I wouldn't put much stock in them being on the shelves much after that. Besides... TLC need to make room for mad CW bp's... and I hope they add a 501st'er in there...

Another wicked idea... I just bought 2 Rogue Shadows, minus the Minifigs of course, for the same price as 1. I am going to modify it to be a symmetrical 3 seater, and will carry a speeder bike. I was inspired by the RS mod here. Now, I am sure you are not interested in this kind project per say, but have you considered, for Army building purposes, Brick link? BTW, when I get them, it will take a while, but I will post picture once the digital camera, along with my lovely wife and girls, return from the Nederlands in a few weeks. Ah... I believe you answered your own question. Go droid. If you are asking for our... sagely advice, always go Clone. One thing I dislike about the droids is that allot of my older ones, now 10 years old in most cases, are beginning to weaken and fall over, so much so that I dare not move them. Clones are much sturdier, and heck, their clones... Nuff said!

Well, depends on what your goal is. Don't buy the Shadow if you are army building. I prefer bps, especially when you have a limited number of clones already. AT-TP's are cool, but I wouldn't buy to many, seeing how you can get just as many Shockies with just 2 bp's, and those puppies will be drying up soon I am afraid.
