Yeah boy! Sweet, I'm in!

I'm sorry, but for this, I just have to post... Oh my goodness... That piece of art just took my breath away.... I don't think that ever before, or from here on out, there will be another set like this. Lego has answered many prayers on this one, and I hope to richly bless them with my hard earned cash... Just for that set, I will begin to custom build a shelf to showcase it, next to my other prized sets... the UCS DS 2 an the UCS ISD. The mini system TIE Adv is a nice touch... wonder if I can adapt it more to fit the RUMOR mold... It's so shiny!!! (Firefly guys!) Insane DS with mad minifigs on!

image removed Edit by Hinckley: Palin Jax, please resize the picture. It's over 3000 x 2000 pixels and takes up a lot of bandwidth. That pretty annoying for members browsing on a slower connection. There's a handy picture resizing tutorial here. We prefer pics to be 800 x 600 or smaller. Thanks. {The silence of space is briefly disturbed by 3 sets of twin ion engines... Two TIE SHARDS flank the Sentinel Eclipse, as she departs known space into the unknown darkness of the black. Pushed to their limits... the SHARD's break formation} SHARD alpha 1: Sir, thats it... we gotta go back. But we will be waiting for you... Eclipse(Jax): Thanks again brothers... When we find what we are looking for, we let you know. Keep an ear out though... I think something far more sinister is afoot than just a smack bust gone sour. Something says it's got allot to do with the Jedi, and there nemesis... the long neglected legacy of the Sith. Shard alpha 2: Sir, sure we can't talk you outa this... we really need you back there... Jax: I promise, when the Galaxy really needs me, I'll be back... But it's really to hot for me here now... I've got to find them... It's the Force thats causing all this you know... (rambles) Vhrils: Forgive him, boys, he's getting worse all the time. He has gained far to much knowledge then any clone should... It's the Force... He has to find the lost Masters, before it kills him. {Eclipse lights up her 2 powerful hyper drives, and is enveloped into hyperspace} -
... Guy's, I know we are getting a little bored here... But this tantamount to calling Nazi's and Commie's cool... Indy wise that is... And meaning it! We darksiders often get a pass because heck, nobody can beat the original "man in black"... Megablocks plastic should be recycled into diapers... It's about all it may be good for, though, on second thought, the idea of their product being that close to any child's rear end is repulsive! As to this model... While the over all shape is adequate, it really leaves something to be desired. I found it neither stunning nor detailed, and to be quite honestly, it looks like any other shoddy designed product Mega barf has ever been able to ralph out... That is why Lego, which is considerably more expensive, still dominates a market driven by parents often forced to be tight already with their hard earned funds... Not to say that Lego itself has been reduced to Mega-blounderish tactics like stickers in recent years, and cost cutting plastic choices in order to cut those said costs at times. I will not even score this set, as numbers can only get so low... But I wish it to be known that I am not dissing the author/originator of this thread... a find, no doubt... So I don't want you to feel I am picking on you... In fact, until today, I would have loved anything if all it had was a stamp of Star Wars on it... But megablocks are like kryptonic cancer... And leaves an awful after taste in a mouth.

Wow! Thanks guys! I haven't been around allot lately; My Grandma has passed on to a much better place, and I actually spent my birthday at her wake. I will truly miss her until we are reunited again. Needless to say, I have been out of sorts, and left with a slight case of writers block, although I probably exaggerate the later part of being a writer. As to gifts, there is that little film coming out in august, so I saved my birthday funds to that end. That said, the first RGS I see is mine... and maybe some left over to pick up a AT-TE too! But the death star cake is awesome in deed, (My youngest girl had her birthday on the 19th, so I didn't even get my own B-day cake, but since shes the tied second love of my life, I don't mind) I guess that old adage about eating it too sill applies. Sorry for my late reply, but thanks all to whom remembered. Your planet is safe... for the moment ... hehe!

Jax to Vhrils:(over shoulder) Man, what an ameture... had the tracker on that scow before this went down... Oh well, what he doesn't know can't humble him... Vhrils:(girl like giggle, then serious) Palin, you know better... You left the command of your own volition, and I doubt seriously that Admiral Durge will have given up his hunt that easily... Better calm down the situation... Jax: Woman, that is why I am so into you! (to Butcher via mic) Jim, it been real, but it ain't been real... dig... I cant-co, you know what I mean... But Razors a sharp edge, he'll cut to the chase much better then I... You know I can't go back anywho... So heres the scoop. I've got a tracer on our little friend their... Republic Intelligence ain't got much dirt on her, so I am thinking her registries been wiped clean; she is who she says she ain't. A bribes a bribe, and a scribes a scribe... I'll tracker her myself... but I will need to get the message back to you over more, uncivilized channels... {Jim, Jax' is trying to stay an enigma at the moment, hence the jive speak lest anyone other than us may be eavse-dropping... he's being tracked by some unsavory characters that want those stolen plans restored... so I am going to just follow our friend... BTW, Razor is the current clone lieutenant in charge of the pod assigned to your mission. The rest of you... get into this... It will be the only way to keep it going. Don't be afraid to post without pics... There is no set storyline anyway, so be imaginative...} -

(Secured comms) Jax to CT-1021: Crazy Ivan... Now! CT-1021: Got it Sir! What bout Butcher? Jax: He means nothing... He shouldn't have gotten himself involved with this. Way to over his head... But He does have gusto, I'll give em that. Give me a status as to were those blast are coming from. CT-1023: Sir, we can't confirm, but looks like we got a sniper somewhere to the south of our position, and the transport, obviously not a class standard, has deployed Drodika's... Whom ever is involved, looks like they have got the blessing of Dooku and his ilk. Jax: Good status report! Hit the Destroyers with a pulse EMP, I'll work the snipper... And get on Butcher, I can't stand a grown man crying... CT-998 and CT-1001: Got it, Sir! (open coms) Jax to Butcher: The situation is too hot Butcher. I recommend you extract. This ain't no place for an easy bust. You got a snipper pinning you down..(Blaster bolt fires) He shouldn't be a problem. What I can see here, you got about 6 droidika's up their providing the rest of the fireworks... It's about to get quite up there, so take cover... {Large yet confined EMP blast cascades across the rooftop, blackening out the electrical grids for a few city blocks, but neutralizing the Droidek's... As the transport also gets a whiff of the wave, it crashes down atop the tower... the clones quickly surround the perimeter} (If I post picks, it will be quite more an exception than the rule... If this is a problem, let me know. My moc styles are craft... my imagination in story telling is quite more expanded...) -
Really ... Awesume!!! You've made our day... Let the countdown begin!!! Man, it seems like forever to wait that long though...
-
Really? Well, as to the fungus part, maybe then that person needs to take a shower more often. Unless it's that nasty toenail stuff... thats even worse, or so I've heard... It was sales, not this website that dropped the final hatchet on the LUL's. I believe the entire world community complained much worse when they went to to bley. Like I said in my post... Cartoonish minifigs are here to stay. Period! I am merely suggesting to all to stay positive, and putting it as nicely as I can because I enjoy it when others delight in Lego as much as I do. Complain if you will, as is your right here, it is not my desire to stifle that... But can I kindly suggest, that chose your words with more consideration next time when responding to a fellow fan. Unless that was not meant as derogatory, and then, you have my sincere apology at my overreaction.
-
Decent to the anti-cartoonish club on! If you don't like em, please, send em to me... I wish it wasn't so insane to try and buy them on bricklink. I think once you give em a chance, they will grow on you anyway. As you can guess, I am quite the opposite in this, as I wish I could get rid of all my sad old yellow faced cronies...( Still want to keep one of each as a collector...) For once, instead of just some somber smiley face, (which can be nice ), finally your figures can have some really expression. Maybe Lego should look more at dual facing those heads like the Roboforce guys. Either way, cartoonish heads are here to stay, at least as long as the cartoon has life. I am not saying you have to like them... but maybe you of the dislikers club could try to stay positive... I don't foresee Lego opting to change their minds on this one.

Prolog {Space, an unimportant and nameless planet looms in the background against a myriad of distant stars, all beckoning to each other in small blinks of vibrant color. The sleek silhouette of the Eclipses streaks past, then the orange blaze of twin nozzles tandem with the infamous scream of the raging ion engines, flanked by twin blue-lit hyperdrives....} Jax to Vhrils: Natasha, I am just learning of a major Assignation attempt on the Mor Daegger life... I have sliced the Republic Intelligence web, and this goes straight to the top... The Shadow Legion has even been tapped to provide backup... What is going on? Vhrils: Palin, it's to dangerous back there... And even if we make it in time, whats the value of any one shadowy drug dealer... He is hardly worth even your notice.... Jax: Natasha, you know he doesn't just peddle smack; he also traffics info... he's one of my best... Vhrils: I don't like this, not one bit.... Butcher is aptly named, you know... he doesn't have your patients... To think that he replaced you in the Shadow Legion... makes my skin crawl. Jax:(A smile cracks beneath his covered brow. With his thick Jango like accent) I love your soul, Natasha.... but that side of you that drew you to me almost drove you into His arms... I would say this life in obscurity is well worth even just one hour of your love... But I must return.... we will monitor events from a distant view... Engage the cloaking device, and mark hyperspace as soon as coordinates are set.... (Shrouded in obscurity, the Sentinel Eclipse enters hyperspace unnoticed.) {Time 3:41 Atop a nearby building, remaining cloaked, Jax and Vhrils monitor the situation transpiring adjacent to them a few buildings over. Through the sights on his BlasTech DC-19 "Stealth" carbine; Jax' steady trigger finger linked by proxy to his unwavering eye, watches events unfold, and will assist Daeggar should the need arise. A hovering transport comes into view, and opens fire} Vhrils:(shrill voice) Palin? whats going on? Jax: Quite women... I am not sure... Spin up the engines... Were gonna have to... help Butcher. Daeggars dead, looks like... Hard copy that transports manifest, licenses, and registry... Looks like something far more sinister is at work here.... (Via helmet mic) Shadow Corps... this is CC-23.... This is the Commander... Assist Butcher.... Units 1 and 4, cover the transport, 2, 3, 5, and 6, on that transport and on me... Stat... Trooper 3: Who is this... Trooper 1: Stand down brother... that is none other that the infamous legend, Palin Jax! -
Can I have yours if you don't want them then ... Man, those 2 figs alone make me want the RGS and AT-TE... the fact that the redesigns are included, at no extra charge... makes it a really bargain!

Palin Jax replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Sorry all, my Wife just came home on Monday, so I have been ever diligently making up for lost time, and no... get your head out of gutter. Fine if you use a TIE pilots helmet Oki, Jax is an ever evolving character... It's the story that counts. I will be again overhauling the Sentinel Eclipse tonight, but I hope to have the major design down tonight. I doubt any of you would care to build her, but if you need to include her, just use a Rogue Shadow. My storyline will be based strongly on the Eclipse. Also, I will be departing EB after th 2nd of June as my primary home, but I will still monitor this site and of course this thread as I hope it will grow. Anyway, I will strive to play Jax as the dark enigma... lurking in the dark, waiting to lend aid when necessary, then returning back to the shadows... The Dark Paladin... -
Come on guy's, is this really a poll? I mean, sweet Star Destroyer Size or cheese Hoth door style? (Not to offend those who didn't get their Hoth last time, but really, you guys are getting it for the figs right?) A door, and not even a good one at that. If this is a choice, we would all be collectively insane not to take a Minfig style whole ship. (Also, not wishing to offend those individuals whom believe they are insane, in character or out...) I doubt we will get a ship either. But, if this is more a petition to get Lego to make it a ship, it will have allot more bearing. BTW, no doubt I am sure you are all wondering how I cast my vote... Well, voting is a private affair, and.... Thanks to Oki Wan for pointing out my spelling error... I have dispatched a garrison of 501st Troopers to... make sure he does sweat!

Um ok... don't know how I missed that one... Sorry for the confussion.

Could you please quotes some source of reference for this. I can't understand why Lucas would release it only in Germany way ahead he has said it will come out in the US. Sept 15 from what I have seen here, according to rebelscum. An August date would also push up release dates for the sets.

Anyone else dissapointed in their hailfire droid?
Palin Jax replied to Clonecommando007's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I also am pleased with this set, which is essentially a bp, albeit slightly more than that would entail. As to the overall size of the Hailfire droid, I actual think Lego got it right this time. At first I did not hold this view, but after going back and reviewing the Attack of the Clone battle scenes, it is par on! As to detail, it's size does limit this, but again, I think Lego hit the key distinctive points, other than the gun, which could be a rather simple tweak. I hope I am not implying I disagree with the context of this thread, however, I find this solely to be my opinion. A good one of the set at that! -

Palin Jax replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Ah yes, I stand corrected... therefore eliminating him again from this time line. He is that, though I have always envisioned him to be more an Utipou Shadow Trooper... My mistake... It is good that you are willing to allow what ever... but sincerely, if you wish to do that, I would advise you then not to set any time line. Just set your comic in Universe. That eliminates the problem. Just establish factions, not Empire in charge this, Republic that, Rebellion on, Separatist defeats... I politely disagree, however, about the PT/OT issue, as OT has had more time to influence the "older" crowd here, and as such, has made more vehicle's options available to that genre, albeit in some cases as redesigns. -
A poll to decide a star wars set for february 2009
Palin Jax replied to darkrebellion's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Whilst choice one is so tempting, and really, choice two is ney on insulting... Choice three is in my estimation the wisest choice. Given time, I believe we shall see choice one, so this being a balancing act, shifted my decision to the right. Second, don't just think of it as an A-wing hangar... I foresee an Army... Arrayed all in white and black, (and ok, some old greys... worn and demure as ever) standing in formation, their lord bowed in anticipation awaiting the arrival of His master... The droll of the Imperial March played for background... An form slave-turned-Admiral, once more a slave, now chained like a kath at the side of his dark Master feet.... the broken remains of a derelict A-wing pushed aside to make room... Do ya feel it! -
The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
Palin Jax replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
That is why I left the mask thing in... As Palin is a bit of recluse anyway. Jango is ever allusive; surprising all his cloned brethren bare not his remebalance... A mistake Lego is soon rectifying. I was mistaken in timeliness, as I confused them to the TIE Armies time line. I can amend the story to be that the cause of Palin's departure was due to the discovery of the Rogue Shadow's existence, at least the rudimentary spefications... An obvious decedent of the Scimitar class design. This of course makes the story less solvent as it is hard to believe a clone would so quickly move up to the rank of an chief engineer, but oh well.... But if the story becomes to limiting, I believe you will have severe problems with recruiting other players due to lack of vehicle availability. You are already by proxy eliminating the vast majority of OT sets by your time line. We can't all run around in tricked out RGS and AT-TE with V-wings for eye-candy. Not to mention the fact I can't even bring in a RUMOR... gheesh, whats an insane megalomaniacal clone to do these days... Let alone a good one... -
Iron Man rules... hands down. If Indy and Batman are as half good... This Summer will be the best yet since 2005... du.du.du.dah.du... dah.du.dah.du.dah.dah.dah (Ironman if you haven't figured it out.) BTW, if you haven't yet seen it, two things... What are you waiting for? And... Watch all of the credits... Nice MOC's, like the Stark.
-
A word of advice... keep going with it... Nice work. I know it's hard when you don't have the pieces to do what you need to do, but it is a superb and detailed attempt. Those wings do look heavy. If you can, Bricklink works miracles...

The Star Wars Comic Game-Season One
Palin Jax replied to JimBee's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Jim... My sigfig will be/is a Shadow Stormtrooper with yellow shoulder pauldrons... and A Jango Fett head. I know, a bit boring... But I am very much waiting for the new Rex to come out.. He will then be my sigfig... Palin is a Senior Clone Commander that, after the war, went into hiding because he had become obsolete. Too, his Commanding Officer, Captain Nikitia Vhrils, (Juno Eclipse with Hermine brown hair) had fallen in love with him, but that, alas, is another sad story. Palin found the plans to the Rogue Shadow shortly before his departure, and has been secretly working on adapting the technology into the TIE SENTINEL (Sequenced Equipped Navigation Twin Ion Nominal Event Lightspeed) named "Eclipse". Palin and Nikitia now roam the outer rim staving off detection and searching to bring peace to the Empire. Hoping to be reunited with dear friends... And discovering a hidden power within... he should never have possesed... Palin, a vagabond wandering dark Paladin... seeks justice! -
No matter the name, nor matter of place, the TIE army shall always reamin... It may not be as strong a FORCE here to be reckoned with... But it shall always be... Remember, there will always be an Empire, loyal remnant or renegade... Out in the open or lurking within the shadows... Plotting it's revenge... The Sith will once more rule the galaxcy... until then, enjoy the peace... To all my Imperial brothers... If you still bare the Imperial standard in your sig (colors), I ask you to update those to the "Renegade" colors, in honor of our threads closed status. If any former Rebel should care do likewise, it too would be a welcomed gesture. I also encourage those here to consider the comic thread should it take off. I am sure Jim B is working hard to get er off the ground, and as all of you have incredible expertise in posting in the TIE form... Well, he could also use some of your seasoned talent. And it would be a waste of all of your creative skills if you should pass on this wonderful yet unorthodox endeavor.

Heyyyy... mannnn... nicccce SNOOTTT... (not spam... great song, more awesome SNOT) I think that this may be another case of mistaken license theft though... Indy is supposed to be escorting the Princess off that iceball, not making a camp fire... Although a sliced open taun taun would have been more fitting... Lego, "Get er' done!" Excellent!!!
