    Super Mario 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

Bowser looks good, the setting behind him looks good. It looks a substantially sized set. I want to like it... But... just can't... Its... Just not the same... Prefer minifigs and minifig sized stuff...
  2. I actually really like it. And the price is actually pretty reasonable, if not rather good-for a star wars set. Sucks the at-rt is huge, but will be interesting to try and make a smaller one with the parts. Fair play to lego for doing this, I'll definitely be getting one for sure, probably 2, maybe a few more. [MOC] UCS Baby Yoda with instructions (mod of 75255)

OK, so I've just bit the bullet and ordered my Yoda so I can make this little cutie! I've just had a browse through the instructions. I have to say, its an exemplary build considering its rebuilt from pretty much just the Yoda set! I really am looking forward to building this little guy!

    Harry Potter 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

I think you are extremely out of touch of the real world to have that opinion. You do realise there is a LOT of people not working right now? There's a lot more than cinemas, shopping malls and restaurants etc The construction industry will also be out, apart from essential gas/road works. Aircraft maintenance is now an issue, people can't get from country to country to start new contracts to work abroad-or come home. Planes aren't flying. So the carriers, airports will be on skeleton crews only for emergency/essential flights. Holiday companies will be practically non existant now. House moving is wanting to be stopped for obvious reasons. There's a lot of non essential businesses not working right now. These families with kids, will likely have one parent working full time, one working part time. Of those, there will a lot whose wages will be drastically cut due to work stoppage. Especially those where both parents jobs are frozen. Privately booked surgery now can't happen unless the doctors wear hazmat suits. Guess what we don't have enough of, to which has now stopped all non essential private surgery occurring? Hazmat suits. Private hospitals are pretty much on freeze with the view that some will be bought out and used for the NHS instead. This 'free money' isn't coming instantly. Its not coming soon enough for a lot of people. Self employed are only getting 80% of their average earnings, and they're not getting that until June. That's at least 2 months away. Who normally has 2 months of mortgage payments/bills/food costs saved up? Not the average person I can tell you now. And those that do, won't take lightly to dipping into it. Those that were in between jobs are now going to be out of jobs for quite a while relying on their savings to keep them going. No one wants to spend their savings freely without a care in the world. No one can predict when exactly this is going to settle back down and the economy will get back to normal, so they don't know how long their savings will have to last them. But it's not going to be straight away either. People will have to get back on their feet, get some money back behind them. Frugal spending is going to rise* insanely. In the uk alone, up to last weekend, an *extra* £57 million was spent on panic buying alone. People have spent money on additional consumables that wasn't essential to do if people carried on as normal (but people being people, they didn't...). That'll be taking away from spare money. Companies that may have been struggling, but just coping... Are now going under for certainty, some already have. A lot of people already *are* losing their jobs because of this. Wages can't be paid. The money isn't coming fast enough to support them. Even if it does, it's a loan. Which a lot of banks are asking for personal security for. Which is putting small businesses off getting, because that puts their personal homes at risk. Take a walk down a highstreet and see just how many businesses are still open. Hardly any, I can guarantee that. Places are like ghost towns. Except now everyone is out going for runs This is widespread enough that even Lego would be daft to simply assume they can carry on as normal. So families with kids at home may not be so carefree to spend money on a lego set to keep a kid quiet when there is far too much uncertainty occurring, and I can bet the majority will tell their kids to play with what they already have. The problem is, even lego will get hit. The economic recovery could be a year out yet. But they've already got everything pretty much in place to get the HP sets out on the market. They may not delay it at all. I mean, would it make a difference? Not really if they already have it all ready to go. Better for them to offer it out and delay the next wave. But purchases will be a lot slower.
  5. You people and your made up definitions... Meriam Webster: Spoiler: "3: information about the plot of a motion picture or TV program that can spoil a viewer's sense of surprise or suspense also : a person who discloses such information.... " 'making your watching experience worse'. It's about finding something out and removing the surprise of not knowing it. Which can relate to *anything* to do with the film. Just because some news outlets have stated it, doesn't mean its not a spoiler. @mkjosha Thats actually a bit of a cop out. I have no issue whatsoever avoiding spoilers of star wars films on the Internet until I come here. Here. Here is the only place I have issues, because people don't have the courtesy to use spoiler brackets (the prior mentioned spoiler was then stated as 's2 being another opportunity to give us another Ahsoka fig'... So no, your spoiler brackets were pretty pointless.) A casting announcement is still a spoiler. I'd not be surprised to hear baby yoda still in it. I'd not be surprised to still see the mandolorian in it. I would have been pleasantly surprised to see Ahsoka in it. But not now. Can I point out this is the 2020 set discussion/rumour thread, which is meant to be talk of sets with weight behind their rumour and all he's doing is wishlisting...? Why wasn't that picked up on? Must be nice living in the States getting all the good TV shows first not having to care much about spoilers....

    Super Mario 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

Stuck in Italy with the corona virus They made sonic perfect, I only hope they can do a series of Nintendo figs in the same manner. That's what I was expecting/hoping for, and what I would for sure buy. I may get Mario just so I can see him do his different expressions etc... But I doubt I'll be looking to get all the sets.

    Super Mario 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

.... I just... I'm so conflicted... 10 year old me would have loved this... But I'm not 10 anymore and my interest is in minifig sized stuff without gimmicks. As great, innovative and unique as it is, I applaud them for going outside the norm on this, I'm sure it'll be a hit with their target audience (kids). But for me.... I'm just so.... I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed...

    Super Mario 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

Actually, winnie the pooh doesn't need the moulds, pooh uses the bear head mould, rabbit uses the rabbit head mould, eyore and tigger are very well designed with bricks, piglet is the only one I'm not aware of the mould existing, but it's possible it does already? Or they may have one that will suffice. Either way, at *max* there is only one mould possibly needed.

    Super Mario 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

A lot of people are assuming the Leaf theme is Mario... Can we hold off on that until something else confirms it? I feel there's way too much assumption going on with it that could throw a lot of disinformation around as fact when it's not. The leaf thing was apparently based on some monkey thing similar to the monkey King in the cmf series we had. That doesn't tie in with super Mario in *any* way-nope, not even Diddy Kong or donkey Kong. Donkey Kong doesn't have shoes. That big fig leak did. So far, the instagram post or whatever it is hasn't made a good connection to prove the Leaf theme is Nintendo so just hold off on that. Its entirely possible there may be 2 separate themes coming. (who knows...) I'm absolutely stoked to hear about Nintendo finally jumping in with Lego. I've heard a LOT about how Nintendo is difficult to work with regards to licencing, so I'd highly doubt it was lego holding back on it, I'd totally put my money on it being Nintendo holding off and eventually agreeing to. Lego know how well it has been wanted due to Ideas projects, they have no problems working with other licences, Nintendo would not be any different. However given Nintendo awkward history, it makes sense it would have been them. So I'm glad they have come to some agreement. I just hope this 4 wide fig isn't the standard minifigs size for the sets. They *neeeeeeed* to be sticking with normal minifigs and simply perhaps Simpson styled head molds (but better scaled) as their wide bodies aesthetically suit that more than I feel normal minifig heads would, however I'd be happy with normal minifig heads too. I hope they do a yoshi fig, and don't ruin him either! Totally looking forward to seeing where this goes. This has a LOT of potential, being relevant to older people who grew up with a super Nintendo, and those who grew up with Mario on the switch. There is a BIG market to be tapped for that given how well the switch has done. Let's hope people jump on board with it, and let's hope lego get the figs right and don't bigfig the f*** out of them all....

Vote for next UCS at Lego ideas

I wish I'd have thought of jedi Bob when I cast my vote (RGS) as an update to him would have been an awesome reference back to him! But I opted to put down 5's squad. Long shot, and I'm more stoked for the build itself! But if ever there was an opportunity for any of them to be made into figures, this is definitely it.
  12. I do really like the ep 1-6 star wars vehicles and ships, their designs are original and lend well to lego, whatever scale they end up being done in. I love all the TIE ships and always have. Love the X-wing lego models, the huge MF (even though I've still yet to build mine!) and the Republic gunships, at-te walkers, at-at... TLG are doing such great things the more time goes on with them! That being said... I have barely any of the classic space ships... I currently still have the large explorien ship pictured a few posts up, have the 2 large spyrian robots and flying saucer, and currently am struggling not to give in and buy a space police 2 mediator. Its only the price for what is 330-odd parts that is getting me, even though its actually rather big (big plates ), it's quite a dated design, which is fair. Unfortunately none of my ice planet, blacktron nor m-tron stuff survived staying with me through my dark years, although I only had the smaller sets from them. Classic space wins it for me hands down. The colours are always so enticing and radiant, even the black and trans luminous green work well, as does the red/black and trans dark blue. I love the mix or trans orange, blue and white for the ice planet. The designs of all their ships were exceptional for their time and soooo different, such imagination went into them. I would just absolutely love to see what they could do now for a big spaceship with all the parts and techniques if they were to make a brand new in-house space theme (bennys ship is great in its own right, and I'm glad I got it, but it pertains to the original classic space ship style. I want to see a clean slate design!) I'd gladly drop £150 on one without thought if the size/piece count were there to back up the price.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Nah. I disagree. Lego are big enough they could easily release an overlap and have no problem selling both. Plenty of children would get a City police station (example) to play with in their 'city', plenty of modular collectors would get a modular police station. Plenty would also upgrade from a city police station to the modular. Plenty would also buy both to incorporate both. Lego have us by the balls, and know they'd have no problem with that kind of overlap.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Doesn't mean there's any less bought. SW has a much larger audience than modulars. System falcon is much more versatile than a city fire station in that its a decent play set that can be played with, and swooshed and displayed, and the fact they literally don't have a break from one iteration to the next clearly shows they're still very popular and widely bought. Modulars are just as much collectable as ucs. And we already know how popular the UCS MF was. The cost for them nowadays, clearly not an issue. The 2 situations are not as different as you make out.

UCS falcon, system scale falcon out at the same time. No problems there

    TLG acquires Bricklink

I think this is terrible news. It should have stayed independent. Already they are interfering, making false statements that there is 'no conflict' when there clearly is, sayin g they're not going to implement anything immediately, then immediately having to backtrack when pointed out they won't be allowing things such as Brick arms on there anymore. I'd suspect they truly want to data mine the hell out of it because it gives an insight into what people are *still buying* and *still interested in* while not having to do any market research of their own into what people might want to buy. It'll show them trends, as well as what pieces are highly sought after, enabling them to focus on them being in their own online BaP section... Essentially, it's just one big market research tool for them, with a couple of added extras they can probably use to their advantage of free profit, but also they'll implement their own policies on it as they already have done, removing the independent feel and freedom of it. It'll probably stick around for years, but I really can't see how it'll become better. We may just see a different range of new stuff offered by tlg than we would had they not acquired it...

    LDD will not run anymore

Just tried it. It is recognising the file having been renamed (comes up with a box stating either the flash installer is out of date or has been renamed), sends me to the flash website to download the most recent one (same one as I put in the file myself which got renamed) then continues with installation. No longer have the 'LDD will not work online' error, but it still freezes on the same loading bar of 'launching application' :( Here is where it freezes:
  18. Hi, Firstly, I am running Windows 10 on a laptop-specs: In tel Core i5-6300HQ CPU @ 2.30GHz, 8gb RAM, 64bit OS, x64 based processor. Not sure what else info may be required. I have previously been running LDD fine,, albeit in offline mode for quite some time now (only just found out why-4.3.10 is not supported). However, have not used or opened LDD for the past 3 months. I have gone to open it today and for some reason, the 'loading application' page after clicking 'run offline' loading bar goes right to the end, then it ddoesnt progress any further. Then the program becomes unresponsive. I have uninstalled and downloaded the latest version from the Lego website, but it still won't run online nor will it progress past the loading application page. Any help would be masssively appreciated as I can't finish building my haunted house moc :(

    LDD will not run anymore

OK, a slight update. I've a feeling the version from Lego website is still 4.3.10 hence why issues opening it, although it still won't even run offline. I've found another location to download it from, and it states it is 4.3.11. I try installing that and now I am having that flash player issue. The fix for that where it says to rename the exe to zip and then 'open with' google chrome isn't working for me because I can't get the option up to 'open with' to open it in google chrome... Not really sure what to do now :( https://community.adobe.com/t5/Flash-Player/Flash10b-stopping-Lego-Digital-Designer-4-3-11-installer/td-p/10398103 A fix appears to be here, but I can't figure out how to open that '%TEMP%\WZSE0.TMP\' folder...?

    Hidden Side VS Monster Fighters

Have to say, I fully agree with Oky. Absolutely loved the full on spooky theme of monster fighters, and the variation of monsters etc, supplemented by an absolutely awesome series of cmf minifigs! Hidden side, has a different approach. I do like the ghost side of the minifigs, and the dog too! More ghosts would be cool, I guess more in the likeness of the app versions. I also like the transformation of the buildings/vehicles as though they are possessed, that's a cool feature carried out very well. My favourite is MF for outright going all in. I do however feel they both compliment each other very well too, and as I just realised when I built it last night, the juice bar would make an awesome addition to any lego theme park set up, that becomes possessed at night times!

[PRESS RELEASE] 10267 - Gingerbread House

That tile cookie baby brings a whole new literal meaning to the term of pregnancy 'a bun in the oven' Also, I see myself getting 2 of these to make a complete building. I feel it lends itself well to it, and... The more I look at it, the more I really like it even though it doesn't reeeeaaally fit in with existing WV buildings, it's still a nice addition to have off to the side kinda thing.

[PRESS RELEASE] 10267 - Gingerbread House

While I'd say it's far from bland (can you explain how its bland? It's packed with details, even has a toilet and bath! Not many 'building' sets have a toilet and a bath.) I do agree it's a bit cheeky passing off the tile as a figure... All in all though, a lovely looking set I'll be getting ASAP.

[PRESS RELEASE] 75252 Imperial Star Destroyer

That price... I just can't even... Same as the MF but 2800 pieces LESS?!?! I get that piece count isn't always a good method (one 1x1 plate is not equal to one 12x6 wedge pate), but only a guide... and that weight is another method... but damn... for that price, not even an interior (I'm ok with that as I'd want it for display, but perhaps even just a few more Ties? ), only TWO minifigs that are unique, one having arm printing... well jeese... there are loads of other minifigs in non SW that get arm printing, it's like they use it to suck us in... but not even characters, just generic crew. And totally not anything you'd army build with. I get they're probably just filler minifigs just to give something...but for that price, I'd expect a chromed Darth Vader!! That'd have looked much more UCS suitable with this than 2 generics... The model itself is impressive, I'm glad they did the underside properly too, rather than just flattening it out a'la UCS Executor. The greebles are nicely done, but the rear engine area just looks... odd... The engines look minimal in design as though, 'what's the smallest part count I can make these in?' kinda thing... "Also comes with 2 blaster pistol weapons." Oh hell I missed that selling point, I was going to pass on it... but it has 2 blasters! So that swayed it for me, I just must buy it now! That's kinda embarrassing even mentioning it as a 'feature' to list in this massive UCS set... I'm kinda starting to feel like TLG are becoming scalpers themselves with this specific set because they know people will buy it at a high price regardless.... I'm even struggling to feel justified in using my £150 vip points to reduce the price because I just don't know if it's worth it... It's size is impressive. It's details are nice. The Tantive is a nice, and to be honest expected touch (nice nonetheless). Anything else? Can't come up with anything...
  24. Did it get found out why the leaked sheet of all the minifigs had the amount of minifigs as 16/17/18?
