LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Fuppylodders replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I guess it'd be entirely possible that given how spread out across other themes it was, budgeting on TLG's scale is just digital numbers and moving numbers around to make things balance. So, possible they simply looked at what budget had space available, and simply tied it to that. It's possible not every theme uses all of its budget so if there's some with some budget available, they'd just lump it in to that. Speculation/assumption of course, take with a pinch of salt. But it's a typical book balancing act. Better to allocate inside a theme (any theme) than require a seperate budget and therefore an extra pool of money not allocated to anything specific. -
Woah, that's crazy good!! You've captured the looks at that scale impressively well! There is no doubting what the car is meant to be. I understand the comment about maybe changing one of the grilles to black, but personally I agree with you that the black underneath does provide the depth feeling and I don't think it needs changing. The lines on the bonnet (or hood) look great and the half depth that the centre part drops down is a great touch! Equally impressive is the entire rear with the sloping cheese wedges angled. Would be nice to see a pic of the interior too, with the window and roof removed. I'm already teased by the small bits of tan I can see! Additionally, your pontiac firebird trans am is also instantly recognisable and looks equally as perfect! I'm not one for collecting speed champion cars (they're good, but just not typically my kinda thing), but damn, I may just have to get the instructions for both of those!!

Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Fuppylodders replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Nothing to fear here. Simply speaking the truth. There are a lot worse things in the world to be fearful of. Getting banned from a Lego forum is below the bottom of the list. If you are offended by my words... I'd recommend taking a break from the internet... And this is also getting off topic. Anything else to add, pm me instead. -
Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Fuppylodders replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Same here. I'm not going to stop myself pointing out other people complaining about something that is entirely irrelevant to their adult view because it isn't marketed for them when their complaints are based on expecting scaled replicas of vehicles in the city line. The fact those under 18 aren't allowed here is a moot point. People can quite easily offer opinions with a mindset of bearing in mind it's a kids toy, but so many peoople are completely ignoring that *fact* now. Likewise, if you don't like seeing someone point out this flawed logic, then you're also on the wrong forum. It's the internet. Everyone is a 'strong minded person'... -

There isn't swearing, it's an initialism. Use whatever words please you. I'm wondering if TLG are starting to dial back details in multiple themes, as they seem to have done with the new xwing/tie fighter/shuttle, and now city too...? -

Fuppylodders replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Well, people here complaining like it is an unknown mystery. You all know its aimed at kids, yet you all complaining like its designed for adults, with adult tiered complaints because they're not scaled well or the designs are looking more simple. If you expect better detail, moc your own ffs. City always will be aimed at kids, and thus adult tiered complaints are absolutely and entirely irrelevant. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Fuppylodders replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
It will never be made anyway. Its a modular. Which directly competes against TLG 's existing modular line. Which makes me wonder why they allow items in contravention to the rules, to be accepted to take support up to 10k votes But yes, that is a very decent looking police modular, and love the little donut shop next to it! -
The 6 stud wide version looks really good. But that 8 stud wide.... That's a definite improvement! Not that it really needed it because the level of derail captured in the 6 version is brilliant. If you know the e30, you instantly recognise this as one. And excellent touch on the front grille too!! I wish I could do a gen6 celica as good as this!

News spreading fast means absolutely nothing. If theremin's news was presented in the same format on Instagram, then it would have also spread. False news spreads quickly too. Theremin's news hasn't spread quickly because there's no reason as of yet why anyone should believe him so no one is taking it as gospel. As for Instagram wildfire, well, that's how Instagram works. Everyone wants to jump on the band train and 'be the one' to get more likes/views. Similar how people use #legoleak on stuff that isn't in any way related to a leak because they just want more views. Star wars false rumours spread fast because of exactly this type of instagram crap. So until black Friday comes and reveals what black Friday is apparantly revealing, I will also take this news with a grain of salt. What do you mean by tag? What video? *never mind, found it. -

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

This is where the part that frustrates me is nitpickyness. Its lego. It can't follow dimensions of an actual building. The roof slopes are wider than a real roof construction. When it's got the roof on, technically, it's 2/3rds blocked. And even then, the 'blockage' is an entire brick height upwards away from the opening. So it doesn't even close it off. It's an attic room. It's most definitely not beyond the realms of possibility of 'let's imagine it's a sloped interior ceiling' which at this scale in that tight space, is impossible to reconstruct. Because in real life, some entrances to attics are extremely tight and smaller than a typical stairway opening. Could they have opened it up wider 2 more stud spaces towards the bed? Sure. Then they have to redesign the floor plates, making it less structurally sound and simple. Take away the roof, the opening works. Put the roof back, there is enough room for a minifigure to still squeeze through that gap that is left. It's lego. It's never going to be perfect. This is the perfect opportunity to do what lego is based on. Using your imagination. Why arent you complaining the minifig can't fit inside the bed covers? Because you use your imagination that it's a representation of a bed he 'could' go in. But he will never use it. Will he ever use that stair way when the roof is on?! No, it's physically impossible because you can't get your hands in there to make him pop up through the stairway! But when the roof is off, yeah you could hop him up the stairs and through the gap (well, drag him by his head up the last few stairs up through the opening). The opening is no more an issue than the bed not being able to contain a minifig inside it without removing his head and popping it on the pillow or making the bed massively oversized to incorporate his entire body. Nitpickyness like this is definitely a flaw to me in human psychology. *edit* I'm being too blunt/harsh in my response, I'm frustrated at other things right now, and can't see how to explain the above more diplomatically, so apologies in the tone used. That's definitely one of my flaws! -

Book shop building stairs are not blocked, on any stair case. There are rectangle holes designed in each floor over the space of each set of stairs. As already mentioned, it'd become quite boring and repetitive to have the same utilities in every build, and would take up the same amount of pieces each time, away from the theme of the build. The gingerbread House has nothing else going for it. It is *only* a house (same as Sesame Street) . So ofc it needs something... Thats where the cute little builds come into it, because without them, there's nothing else to put in it. Sure, also, an extra floor would solve the lack of space issue to add all these things, but then you're adding a biiiiig chunk of extra pieces and therefore, affects the price point. -

You're not alone. I love all the different styles from the different designers. Some might appear 'not as good as......' but you know what? I think it's just different. And I like that. I like that the diner is 'outside the box' in style compared to all the others. I like the corner garage is completely different and not as architecturally exquisite on the exterior and has a vet on the upper floor. It still looks really good. For things I create, I like to have all the utilities of life. But with regards to a set? Come on, I'm realistic in the fact that minifig size scaling makes things difficult, things take up more room. I'd rather they spared the toilet/kitchen etc that would be in all builds and take away from the character of the theme of the build. If it's a garage, throw all the pieces into being a garage. If its a bank, throw all the pieces into it being a bank (and laundromat). If its a diner, same.... I'll modify toilets and a bathroom/kitchen into it as an additional floor if I really want to. Extremely simple fix. It also has nothing else. It's a house. There's nothing else for it to have other than those things! -
did someone build the outland tie fighter (the mandalorian) ?
Fuppylodders replied to macaron35's topic in LEGO Star Wars
In the comments section of the link you linked: In general, the sizes are very much comparable. The 75211 TIE Fighter was my starting point for this MOC. The solar panels are the same size. The cockpit will be marginally bigger because I had to fit the landing gear, but it's barely visible because it's also a bit rounder. The wingspan is a bit wider, by two studs in total, but it's easy to reduce it: Just remove the round elements on each side (98585) and use the regular 2-stud long black pins instead of the 3-stud long blue pins as connectors and replace the axle that's going through with one that is one stud shorter. Then it'll look a bit more boxy (I like the round piece in there breaking up the rectangular shape of the wing-beams), but you'll also have the same wingspan as on the 75211.If you're interested, I can go into a bit more detail as to which parts you'd need and not need for the conversion and where in the instructions that would be relevant. -

I'm generally quite a cynical person, and, if you frequent the SW forums, you'd be wary too, of some new account posting with such certainty of something no one else has mentioned who would normally come up with the info first. From what you've said, it sounds reasonable to believe you... But given you have no (known) history, I'll take it with a pinch of salt for now, and hold back my hopes for the time being. However, your description is certainly enticing for sure! -

I appreciate both of your responses and insight, and taking the time for a slight education I once chemically burned my eyes (gasses/vapours/my own stupidity) and it scared the life out of me for fear of losing my sight, more than I'd ever be to lose a limb. I'm glad lego is representing those with disabilities :)
