That's not even a question. To include an iceberg is entirely distasteful and pretty much a sign of disrespect or even mockery. Titanic is entirely a complete ship by itself. An iceberg isn't necessary in any stretch to make it 'complete' or to make people realise what ship it is. 4 funnel ship, most people associate that with the Titanic. No need for iceberg-the reason many people lost their lives. Is it controversial to make the ship itself though? Enough time has gone by, for it to definitely not be controversial. That's taking it too far and playing into the 'I'ma be offended on behalf of....' category. The ship itself was a piece of art, and deserves to be remembered. Sure, TLG going to make money off a tragic ship, but at the same time, it'll provide a nice subject for people to discuss and look at/display, provoke history lessons to those less in the know about it. There's taking being offended about something too far, and then there's simply being plainly disrespectful. The ship is the former, the iceberg is the latter.

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

What do I search to find this torso image? -
I haven't tested it, but I wonder if it might be an idea to submerge the build in warm water to warm the plastic up a bit to help loosen the material a little...?

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Fuppylodders replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
I doubt everything is automated, although yeah, I do expect 'nearly' everything is. The swapping of the moulds won't be, they'll be stored somewhere. First off, yes, they could do double. And store the parts until they get bought. But, how many individual parts are they producing? How many parts are going out of stock? How many parts are required for sets to be produced? What about storing extras made for all those other out of stock parts? Do you realise how much storage space would be required for a world supply requirement? It's not just a few thousand. For TLG, it's a minor issue the reindeer going out of stock. They're likely balancing a huge amount of supply and demand issues at the moment. Given how massive of a company TLG is, I think you're not seeing the bigger picture they are faced with to simply 'make double'. Is double enough? How about triple? Would that disappear just as fast? They don't know, they likely have no urge to conduct any market research to determine how much they need to make to keep up with demand, they're playing it safe, and fitting extra in when they can. I really wish it was that simple, trust me I do, I just don't think it is or I'm sure we wouldnt be facing supply issues for them as we are as it also benefits TLG the more reindeer they sell. I can imagine the new tan horse having the same issue when it gets made given its a new coloured horse (correct me if I'm wrong, it's just the first time I seen the horse mould in that colour before). That's exactly what I said, just in different words -

It wouldn't surprise me that they don't need to create fuss about it. Their production capacity is sooo limited at the moment either in catching up with backorders/out of stock issues, that the amount they would sell without fanfare and all the community of lego forums that are aware of it and be buying it, would still easily outsell their production run up to becoming back order issues. Also means they save money on marketing. Then by the time they can catch up and start a decent run on it, people buying it have already created the fanfare for them. -

It wouldn't be a new thing for a company to do. I'd fully support if they did, because there's a difference between buying some to make a profit and living on, then there's being absolutely greedy minded to stupidly inflate the prices because you're buying the whole stock and fking everyone else over in the mean time for your own selfish needs. Sure, capitalism, but doesn't justify it. Your solution is to 'just produce more'? Have you even looked on the website recently, at the amount of back orders, out of stock items? And that wasn't even just happening because of covid, it had started before then. Covid just exacerbated it tremendously. Would it solve the issue? Sure as hell would. But TLG aren't int he game to produce more than is required or theyll get leftover stock. Which means storage space is required, and it pushes further away from being a liquid asset. So to them, it's not beneficial. To us, sure as hell, yes! But given the circumstances, it just won't happen. Seeing as they got restocked, it appears they are aware and fitting it in when they can. Would be awesome to have the scalpers with a crap ton of reindeer they can't shift though, and literally, everyone wins. TLG sold loads, we all get ours, and scalpers bought some too It would be much easier to impose a much lower limit, and as for hunting people who massively buy to scalp, i'd say only be hunting those that are taking it to the extreme and being blatant about it. It really does go to show TLG truly don't care. Is anyone aware of when it was previously in stock? -

Wonder if it's worth phoning up CS and asking them straight up why they don't enforce it? And as they now own BL, they are in a perfect position to enforce it... -

LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Fuppylodders replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That seals it for me then, I had my doubts because while it was nice to believe, things that typically seem too good to be true usually are... But I'm all in for believing it now (with potential adjustments to minifigs due to TLG changing them). For since such a long time, at least a good 3 years now, I'm actually looking forward to 2021 2hy sets! It all sounds like such a nice refreshing change and the direction they should have gone for the past few years but they just played it safe. Although, they did do good with the ucs cantina, but everything else was always just sub-par one way or another. -
Lego Ideas 90th Anniversary Fan Vote
Fuppylodders replied to Calanon's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If this isn't the right place to post and should be elsewhere, feel free to move! Although given what this forum all want and how this affects sci-fi lovers, I feel its very relevant! I received a lego ideas email about their 90th anniversary and them doing a fan vote contest to bring back a classic theme reimagined as a standalone set! This is close enough to what we all pretty much want! Details here: https://ideas.lego.com/blogs/a4ae09b6-0d4c-4307-9da8-3ee9f3d368d6/post/fd5cc3b8-284f-4520-825f-7c3f5e4a50fe The issue I see here, is, we all love classic space, but there are so many seperate themes in the classic space period that could potentially scupper the chance (as our votes end up split between the many Sci fi themes). As much as I know Castle fans could benefit, I much prefer a Sci fi theme to win. Additionally, if I'm honest, my top 3 would be exploriens, spyrius and m-tron, as I wasn't around for actual classic space and so didn't get an attachment to it. My top preference would be stuck between ice planet and spyrius... I'd not expect both to make it into the top 3 so my choice would be made for me!) Additionally available are Blacktron, space police, aqua zone, time cruisers, rock raiders, shown as examples, and I do believe not limited to. So on top of that, there would also be power miners, Blacktron 2, space police 2, space police 3, Mars (or whatever it was called), bionicle, and the rest I can't remember. It seems the list they showed is actually all that's available for voting :( which is strange but oh well What would your votes for top 3 and first preference be? (voting will be done in 2 stages, first will gather top 3 voted themes, second stage of votes will vote for winner of top 3). -
Lego Ideas 90th Anniversary Fan Vote
Fuppylodders replied to Calanon's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Feel free to merge, I made it before I saw the posting in the 'general' thread here. Although once that vote is over, it doesn't leave the general thread clogged with disappointment if classic space loses out and this thread will drop off into the abyss Perhaps ice planet (or actual classic space-blue/yellow/gray) has a chance to win, but yeah, I get the feeling it'll be something like city/castle/trains that wins it -
Lego Ideas 90th Anniversary Fan Vote
Fuppylodders replied to Calanon's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I was going to mention trains too, but given they kinda seem to only get 1 set a year, 2 at most, I can understand (although still disagree) with the sentiment of wanting a trains iteration. I personally feel this vote should only be applied to themes that were stopped. SW doesn't count for classic space -
Lego Ideas 90th Anniversary Fan Vote
Fuppylodders replied to Calanon's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I don't understand how city can be included because already we get plenty of sets that are modernised, as they've consistently done City the entire time! Feels like a waste to vote on something that already has its fair share of continuity. Also not sure why they didn't include aquasharks, as they were a theme in themselves, albeit an opposing faction of aqua zone, but still individual and not a progression of aqua zone. -
Super Mario 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Fuppylodders replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Completely understandable point of view. However, either way they go, they will be essentially shutting down half a market. It depends which market has the bigger potential for sales... US or uk/eu/Japan. Most people in the UK who had a snes probably have no clue what the US version looks like (my opinion, butt ugly and not iconic/leaves no feeling of nostalgia, and looks bland). The curvature of the EU snes and style, buttons, joypad, all just touches that part of my heart in my memory. I'm sure it could be possible, especially for someone like Mike psiaki who is a genius with curves and odd shaping. However, I still probably won't be buying it, as I need to limit my purchases. Nintendo minifig stuff will be where I'm at. If it ever happens :( -
Very awesome looking model! Can see the star wars inspiration, but it's not overbearing and looks totally standalone from star wars which is great! The interior looks neat and well done, but there's no pics of inside the cockpit :(

LEGO Ninjago 2021
Fuppylodders replied to The Brick Boss's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Uncomparable, in your opinion. I am a very practical person, and if I'm doing a build (rarely), I'll consider fitting in everything, typically because it's a one off. But even as a very practical person, I - can- understand them including ladders for 100% access in one set and then not in another. Which is why I can't understand your strong perception of how essential they are while then ignoring access potential issues for disabled ninjago civilians as a non issue. But, different opinions/likes/value in different things, because people are different.... So, you're right, we not gonna get anywhere :) Have said my bit and I'll also stop here. Either way, I hope you're able to enjoy the set despite the access thing! -

Bit of a hypocrite there, stating how one shouldn't force you to accept an opposing critique (I'm not forcing you to, just countering your points), but then mocking those for having opposing opinions by claiming we are worshippers of these ninjago sets where the designer couldn't do any wrong and thus implying our opinions are invalid compared to yours. If you claim me to be a worshipper of ninjago/designer, then you must be some kind of worshipper of stairs. I didn't specify stairs in modulars. Yes, they do all have them. But not all apartment buildings in the modulars have living amenities. Not all have beds. Or baths. Or showers. Or cupboards. Not all buildings contain typical things that make sense. The book store only has a couple of actual books, the rest are representations. There are many criticisms of the modulars for missing things, but there has to be compromises. Accessibility is only as big a deal as one makes of it. As such, some people understand the unimportance of a lack of ladder. Some people can't look past it. OK, so, you're right, it is a city, with civilians. What about disabled access huh? How do wheelchair bound people get access to those higher places up the ladders, if you want to get finicky about it... The logic of including the pagoda is much more aesthetically pleasing to the eye than the lack of a pagoda and a couple of stairs added that one wouldn't typically give a second look at because stairs are stairs. They're just a means to an imaginary value. A pagoda adds not only another play area, but another item to add a nice looking piece of scenery and something to make you look at in awe. No one looks at stairs with awe. If playing with the set, if the stairs are missing how will the characters ever enjoy the upper space? Ohh.. Fingers and imagination will figure a way for civilians to magically make their way up to it. Therefore, ladder isn't missed. If there is no pagoda, will fingers and imagination play with minifigs in a space imagining a pagoda to be there? Nope. Pagoda is missed. Therefore, pagoda>stairs, aesthetically, and playfully. Display value, stairs add an imaginary and needless method of figures to move about, which let's be honest, you'll never actually have the figures hobble up or down the stairs if they are there. It's purely imagination of the 'potential' that they 'could' go up them. Miss the stairs out? The beauty of the set isn't affected, the lack of stairs removes nothing because you're not going to play with it. If you want a scaled replica of something, I hate to break it to you, this is lego. It's still essentially a toy, regardless aimed at adults or not. Lego sets are *always* designed with compromise in every single set. NC has all stairs and no random side build. Be happy, you got what you want and what is important to you, in that set. NG has some stairs and a side build. Be happy that is has a side build and less stairs. Just as you place importance in stairs, and I don't place importance in stairs, how can you then not think 'some designers must also place importance in stairs, while others place importance elsewhere, into an additional side build'... If you think too narrow minded that every designer must always think the same to please accessibility fans because one got it right for you, you're wrong. *That* is why it gets done differently between each set. But even if the same designer did both sets, they can choose when to place importance on something, and when to remove that importance and place it into something else. I enjoy the added value that stairs promotes a 'view' of imaginary accessibility. I equally enjoy the lack of stairs to add a side build. I appreciate the difference in choices for each set to add something different. I don't see it as a negative point in any manner. I'm not offended by your/anyone's critique, I just don't understand it nor the point of it, nor the importance placed upon it when lego is such a versatile interchangeable toy, when importance is placed in something that ultimately takes no play value away if one were to actually play with it and require their minifigs to make their way between the different levels. It is a difference in understanding between us, not a feeling of offense. I do agree with you that it could be seen as annoying to have to remove floors to be able to play with it, but, that is a good compromise if the buildings are not left open backed, which for a display set that can be displayed in any of its 4 sides, wouldn't be so aesthetically pleasing. I'd also call it a good compromise to enable people/kids to play with such a large beautiful set that has excellent display value and a lot of playability. In my lego world, civilians of ninjago are capable of traversing between levels like ninjas because, they live in a ninja world! -
LEGO Ninjago 2021
Fuppylodders replied to The Brick Boss's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'll be honest... I couldn't agree more. If people think accessibility inconsistency is an issue, how do you think the creator modular fans feel?? Oh wait, they mostly accept the inconsistencies because adding a toiket/kitchen/living space in every build would take details away from things that actually make the focus of the set. I get you're welcome to air your opinion/dislike of lack of access, but cmon, people making out like it's a slap in their face that it's not included. Claiming logic should / could have been used? Logic is, they're ninjas. They figure out their own way. Logic is, adults will display it and thus, the requirement of a ladder to every room is irrelevant because the display value is in the details of the buildings and interiors and overall aesthetic of the exterior. A missing ladder here or there doesn't take away anything from it. Logic is, kids that do play with this set, as mentioned by Guyon, will just hop the characters to the floors with no direct access, or make them ninja flip to it. Logic is, as an adult, you'd understand that it's better to have a beautiful looking pagoda than some boring pointless stairs. As a kid, you *gasp* use your imagination to get them to the 'inaccessible' areas... Logic is... Simply buy a few of these which are cheap as chips: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=63141&idColor=11#T=C&C=11 Stick them to the inaccessible areas, and all your problems are solved. Logic is not, to take away a nice side build of a pagoda, to add a few pointless stairs that *dont* add to the aesthetic of the set, but do fill in the blanks to the lack of imagination in someone's head. -
[MOC] T-65 X-Wing 1:40 with modified Wing-Design
Fuppylodders replied to Freak Graeber's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is pretty good, the general shaping is well done. The wing design is interesting, but works well aesthetically, as do the engines! The body must have taken a fair bit of figuring out to get done, just forward of the canopy. Although, I'm not quite a fan of the 1x3 plate kinda perched at an angle, but I understand why you did that. All in all, certainly a good effort! How sturdy is it? -
Perhaps it's taken a bit of a back seat with the whole coronavirus thing causing no end of issues with everything, so allocating resources to assist other areas? Just a guess though. I can't understand why it's taking so long either otherwise.

LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!
Fuppylodders replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Regarding the ucs gunship, I really couldn't care less if it has 0 minifigs. This is one ucs I genuinely only care about the build for, to which is why I voted for it. Its different, its not gray, its not some random miniscale cluster of shales. The nebulon B means nothing to me, it doesn't have an appealing shape nor much prominence in the films other than a stage backdrop. The gunship however, colourful, refreshing, presenting much more of a challenge for the designer to get the shaping correct as you can't just attach random bits as a representation of greebling. Not at this size you can't. It's going to be an extraordinary display piece. Rather than something that looks like a Klingon weapon you could pick up at the narrowest point and smash someone with. Any figs we do get, I'll be happy with. Building 4 legs on system scale ones are boring, I do agree! But building large ucs scale legs is actually quite rewarding. It gives a sense of sheer hoooogeness when you complete a single leg. Building the other 3 is just as fun, sure repetitive to a point but not that it deflates the enthusiasm. I loved building the legs on mine. The feet alone were actually really fun and those were the exact same (well, near enough, just 2 mirrored). Repetitiveness didn't even come into mind. But, that's just me! -
I received an email about an order I placed stating that I need to contact customer services as a back order is ready to ship but payment details need updating due to the length of time it has been and so payment has fallen outside of authorisation time. (Legitimate email, had this before). However, they aren't accepting emails, their chat isn't accepting any new cchats online, and their phone number doesn't seem to be working... Anyone else having this?

Venator, MTT, landing craft, a bust of anakin with a torso but no legs and one arm, just burnt from mustafar, lots of colouring in that If there is anything PT that would sell well as a ucs ship, it would be this one (or perhaps a Venator) . If this one doesn't sell well, then PT has little hope of anything else selling well. I've a feeling it'll be sized between raskalnikovs and cavegods, if that 6.3k piece count is around the mark. -
