LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I'm sorry you read something and it made you think of communism. That link didn't provide any information. I don't know the origins of the Jedi Scout Ship but it's at the top of my list for the Summer wave. -
LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
If you want to blame someone for the ridiculous aftermarket prices of the UCS Falcon, blame the people that are paying that much for it. These people are the ones that are dictating prices on eBay and Bricklink. Some of the people that are complaining about the inflated prices now are the same people that passed on this set when it was available at retail price. That's not fair. There are plenty of things that I wish I could've done but the timing wasn't right. Would it be fair for me to complain about an automobile company discontinuing a specific model and because years later I want that specific model to demand a re-release? NO! So to me, the best thing for LEGO to do is make significant updates and create and release a new UCS Falcon. Let the people that have the 10179 UCS Falcon enjoy what they've got and if people are willing to pay the inflated prices, let them. Give the fans that want a UCS Falcon, a new one and call it a day. I for one would be more excited about LEGO releasing a UCS Slave I or any other ship/vehicle that hasn't been given the UCS type treatment. I really can't understand how the majority on the Star Wars forum let LEGO off the hook with rehash after rehash. It's become accepted. Instead of speculating about completely new sets we talk about updated set after updated set. -
LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

I'm currently army building EP II Phase 1 clones and I miss the CW clone faces. The non-CW heads on clones just look awful to me. In fact I don't like that particular face that's being used as a generic trooper face across the SW line. -

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

It was really big deal that they were pulled off of the TRU website. None of them were available to order online after the first couple days anyway. -

Toys R Us Buy 1 Get 1 50% off sale
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to iamwhoiam's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Right now is the best time to get LEGO from TRU; when sets are first released and before their mark up. Expect these new sets to be overpriced in the near future. Earlier this week I was able to place an order for some Microfighters: Clone Turbo Tanks. This'll probably be the only opportunity to get some plain Phase II Clones at a decent price. -
What was the last movie you watched?

Up. I forgot how awesome this movie was. -
As a Seller on eBay I always ship promptly within 1-2 as described in my listing and even note that I'm not responsible for how long the USPS takes. The tracking information even shows when the USPS received the package. Despite this I still have to deal with the complaining and explain thoroughly that their package is enroute. On rare occasion I will have a Buyer demand a refund. Absolutely unbelievable. With Bricklink, you deal with better clientele. I've never had issues with a Buyer on there, just a Seller once. I always post feedback first once the Seller changes the transaction to "Completed".

It's not out of the ordinary for Toys R Us to have the new sets for sale before Target and Walmart.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
So was that you that posted this on another website I visited earlier today? I personally have mixed feelings about this. I would expect a similar piece count but would expect a higher MSRP. -
Unfortunately there's no perfect system. As an occasional Seller on eBay, I get frustrated when Buyers complain about where their package is when the tracking information clearly shows the location. Some Buyers don't understand that once an item has been turned over to the USPS, it's out of the the Seller's hands and they can't make it arrive any faster. In cases like this, I refuse to leave feedback first. As a Seller I would rather receive no feedback then have a Buyer turn around and leave a negative comment about the shipping time that I have no control over. If they're really upset they can leave their negative feedback and I will have an opportunity to comment about how the shipping time was out of my hands.

LEGO LotR - general discussion
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to General Magma's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
For the most part I've been lurking, reading this thread. I have quietly acquired most of the LotR sets. I really wanted to buy more but my family was in the middle of a move when the sets were released in 2012 and the budget didn't allow me to plunge into another LEGO theme. It always seemed to me that the LotR sets sold well, never seeing any of the sets sit on store shelves for too long. The only set that sold slower than the others was The Mines of Moria. If LEGO had made a BP, I would have been all over it, buying multiples. I have to agree with Fives that license restrictions must be preventing LEGO from making a LotR BP. I have no doubt that a BP would sell like crazy. In any Castle/Medieval theme, an army is a must. -

Moving My Entire Collection
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to LEGO Guy Bri's topic in General LEGO Discussion
What an adventure, glad your LEGO survived the move. -
Personally, I will miss the EU sets. They brought variety to the LEGO SW universe and although they don't fit with the OT, they reflect diversity in a rather expansive universe. Most of the major OT vehicles and sets have been done and re-done multiple times. I'm all for more OT sets but not when fans are content with the constant re-hashes. Yeah the minifigures are getting updated but now you have people complaining about that too.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That facial print belongs to generic troopers from different eras, not specifically clones. I personally prefer some printing to a non-printed black head and as Alcarin stated, it's easy to switch the heads if you feel the need. -
What was the last movie you watched?
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to EbonHawk's topic in Culture & Multimedia
The LEGO Movie with the entire family. It was a solid movie and I was pleasantly surprised at the sets from licensed themes that made the movie. -
Thanks for reviewing this set. It looks a lot better than the original version that was released some years ago. As much as I like the look of this update AT-AP, I'll have to admit that I would be getting this set mainly for Tarfful and Commander Gree. I may get this set though when I can find it at a reduced price.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
True, but I can dream. I'm already expecting the winter wave to be heavy with Rebels sets. You never know though. This year (2014) is shaping up to be a very expensive year for me. I'm army building the Phase I clones from last year and will army build the Phase II clones from this year. I'm being driven by the fact that it'll be some time before we get PT sets in LEGO form again. -
LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Looking closely at the pictures, the Stormtrooper in the Ghost is different than the one in the Imperial Star Destroyer. The printing is different on the helmet, torso and legs. Hopefully next year's BPs will give us an opportunity to army build some Stormtroopers. -
