Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Sir_Basil_Ashton replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Personally, I like the idea of army building clones. However not the bomb squad trooper because it's just not appealing to me. For me the orange color would not look good in large numbers. I'd be interested in maybe 20 but I would want my army to be in the standard clone white. I think I would like the bomb squad trooper more if the main color was white with some orange markings. -
LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Never fear, the New York Toy Fair is next weekend and a ton of photos will surface there. -
Awesome job, you've created another masterpiece. I don't think I've ever seen so many different tan bricks. I really enjoy your use of the different bricks in ways I've never seen or would have ever thought of. When I first saw the pics of you using the SW battle droid torsos I thought "wow". Then I saw how you used the bricks that protrude from the side of the building to make a pattern and another "wow". Then I had to zoom in to examine the roof of the temple to check out how you did the tiles. I really liked the effect and look of the dark red plates with the rounded corner on the roof. Really nice touch. I'm blown away and I know the more I examine your pics, the more awesomeness I'll find.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

I was thinking the same about the new Malevolence but I'll have to wait to make a final decision until I see better pics of it. Personally, I'm pretty sick of another Jedi Starfighter. These sets sell so poorly that they've gotta be a waste to make them. Of course I'm speaking of my local area. The last one, Plo Koon Starfighter went on 50% off clearance at a local Walmart and even at that price no one was buying them. That and the Freeco Speeder were the only two LEGO SW sets on clearance that didn't sell. -
@ Edmond Dantes - Did you find these prices all in one store or did you find them at multiple Walmarts? *UPDATE* - So I checked a Walmart that's usually pretty well stocked and found the same SW, PotC and HP sets that you found on clearance but they weren't on clearance there. I got really excited when I saw the Republic Frigate and Millennium Falcon thinking I was about to make an awesome score. Unfortunately they scanned at regular price.

As much as I like the idea of a chrome Scout Trooper, I second the idea of a better printed Scout Trooper. I'm hoping with LEGO doing an update of the Stormtrooper torso, an updated Scout Trooper is not too far behind. The new Endor battle packs would have been the perfect opportunity to release a new Scout Trooper minifig. -

I have a copy of the instructions to the Malevolence but never got around to making her. I'd love to see a side by side comparison between the old one and the 2012 edition. -
I was thinking the same thing. The more of Helm's Deep I see the better it looks. I still need it needs some expansion to increase playability.

Brilliant idea. I think this looks like a lot better. Maybe a blade that's just a tad bit longer and a tad narrower. -
If I remember correctly from the LEGO History Channel episode, they said it costs $300,000 to make a new mold.

I haven't rewatched the episode but from what I remember, the tone in which he talked to the Queen seemed very awkward. Especially when he was complimenting her. -
From my experience with Walmart, chain-wide they have a ton of items on clearance starting Dec 26th and this runs until the items sell out. Individual stores may place items on clearance throughout the year but not at the post-Christmas 50% off.

I really hope Battle Packs are released at some point. This would be a win-win for both LEGO and their consumers. I know I wouldn't hesitate to purchase large amounts of these.
-
Actually the two new Star Wars Battle Packs are the Elite Clone Trooper & Commando Droid Battle Pack and Endor Rebel Trooper & Imperial Trooper Battle Pack that retail at $12.99. Neither of these have specific characters. All you get out of these two Battle Packs are army builders. If you're thinking of Droid Escape and Geonosian Cannon, neither are designated as Battle Packs and they retail at $19.99. The specific characters they come with are R2D2 & C3PO in one and Barriss Offee and Clone Commander Gree in the other.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 4 Discussion

I have to agree, Anakin's reaction couldn't have been faked. Having him truly believe that Obi-Wan was dead was the right way to go about it. We've all seen how badly he acts out certain roles. Specifically during the Kadavo/Slavers arc. The way he interacted with the Queen was pretty pathetic. -
The whole concept of the battle pack is to build an army. If you check out how this was done with Star Wars, you'll see that the minifigs are just generic clones, rebels, droids, etc. Not specific named characters. I would love LEGO to do this with LotR. I'd love to have different BPs with elves, Warriors of Rohan, Orcs, Uruk-Hai, etc. That way I can have epic battles like in the films.
-
I love the way the minfigs have turned out. You can tell LEGO put a lot of work into them as they are clearly top notch. Hopefully when we finally get better pictures of the sets, it's evident that LEGO put as much effort into the sets as they did with the minifigs. I'd really hate to be buying sets that aren't the same quality as the minifigs that come within them.

I'll take that clip for what it is. It was kind of a given that a scene like that would take place. I'm just disappointed that it didn't show us more of the action we can expect in The Box. -
Count me in. I love them all.
-
Love your dragon. I like the way you were able to make it look like scales going up the neck. Outstanding job.
-
A Balrog set would be awesome. I like the idea but that set would be at the top of my son's list. Gandalf against the Balrog is his absolute favorite.
-
@ Skalldyr - Thanks for sharing those new posters. The minifigures look really great. I like the way Boromir has turned out but I can't say the same for Aragorn. His figure looks incomplete. He should have a cape or something. I also dig the leg printing. The other thing that I'm looking forward to see is how the Uruk-hai look under their armor. I'm actually starting to get a little excited.

I agree, Michael Fassbender played an outstanding Magneto. I'm not sure I would have liked the movie had he not played the role. -

Watched The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring last night. Trying to refresh my memory so I can get psyched over the new LEGO LotR sets.
