  1. It’s still not ready as I only had received it yesterday. I am currently working on it.
  2. Hello everyone, I am back to bring you my latest reviewing adventure on the brand new LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Movie 2 Series which will be available worldwide in February 2019. Firstly, I would like to give my thanks to The LEGO Group (TLG) which include the LEGO CEE and LEGO Collectable Minifigures Design Team and our EB Ambassador, Jim. Most importantly, my wife (Belun) for letting me to review this series in peace over the past few days. I can't believe I had completed 28 exhaustive LEGO pictorial reviews including this current one, solely for the coverage of the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series / LEGO Minifigures Theme throughout the past eight years plus. Following Eurobricks tradition for the past Collectable Minifigures polls, we started with a humble beginning of Series 1 followed by Series 2 in the year 2010 and it continued to spread like wildfire with another three strong waves of minifigures craze in the year 2011, putting Series 3, Series 4 and Series 5 in an excellent harvesting year. In the year 2012, we celebrated with Series 6, Series 7 and recent Series 8. With the year 2013, we had the Series 9, Series 10 and Series 11. In the year 2014, we seen the LEGO Movie Series, The first LEGO Simpsons Series and Series 12. In the year 2015, we had the Series 13, LEGO Simpsons Series 2 and Series 14. In the year 2016, we seen the Series 15, LEGO Disney Series 1 and Series 16. In the year 2017, we have the LEGO Batman Movie Series, Series 17 and LEGO Ninjago Movie Series. In the year 2018, we experienced the LEGO Batman Movie Series 2, Series 18 and LEGO Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Series 1. Now, let's see what your vote will bring us for the LEGO Movie 2 series poll statistics in 2019. Name: 71023 LEGO Minifigures - LEGO Movie 2 Series Theme: LEGO System / Collectable Minifigures / The LEGO Movie 2 Year: 2019 Minifigs: 20 unique minifigures Price for 1 box: USD N.A, GBP N.A, EURO N.A, SGD N.A Price for 1 packet: USD N.A, GBP N.A, EURO N.A, SGD N.A Resources: Brickset, BrickLink, Brick Insights An image of an 71023 The LEGO Movie 2 Series The LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Movie 2 Series followed closely with the previous LEGO Movie Series by utilising the dark blue colour schema. This round, it expanded with more vibrant fireworks at the rear. [Reference 1] [Reference 2] [Reference 3] [Reference 4] What could possibly lurk within these mysterious sealed packets? Another awesome series of the brand new continuation of The LEGO Movie 2 Anyone feeling excited for the upcoming sequel of the LEGO Movie 2 which will be released in February 2019. The new sequel will continue from the ending of the first LEGO Movie in 2014 and the environment will entirely be different as it will be featuring more of its apocalyptic setting. This new LEGO Movie 2 Series contain 20 unique minifigures and is raked one of the highest count of minifigures in a single series release. Previously in November 2013, I had the honour to review the first LEGO Movie Series and time flies over half a decade to bring us where we are now. Our top minifigures' count remain with 71022 LEGO Minifigures - Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Series 1. There are so much exciting things to discover with these new series. A few notable things to be happy about include having 18 out of 20 minifigures contain alternate facial expression or printing at the minifigures' heads. There are a large number of new accessories which are given to the minifigures. Furthermore, almost all of the minifgures are also given back printing and half of it are given side printing include the arms with two toned printing. These remarkable designs and new additions are pretty impressive which I will bring them to your attention in the individual minifigures' showcase. IMPORTANT: Please note that the naming for all 20 minifigures, where applicable, that I have use for this review are likely to be official TLG minifigures naming for the LEGO Minifigures - LEGO Movie 2 Series. General statistics for 71023 LEGO Movie 2 Series I have shifted my distribution ratio to the top of the review, due to extensive scrolling of 20 minifigures' characters coverage. I hope this will be useful. Below is the combination which I have received from my box, 3 Awesome Remix Emmet (s) 3 Battle-Ready Lucy (s) 3 Apocalypse Benny (s) 3 Giraffe Guy (s) 3 Crayon Girl (s) 3 Sherry Scratchen-Post & Scarfield (s) 3 Hula Lula (s) 3 Watermelon Dude (s) 3 Flashback Lucy (s) 3 Swamp Creature (s) 3 Candy Rapper (s) 3 Gone Golfin' President Business (s) 3 Apocalypseburg Abe (s) 3 Vest Friend Rex (s) 3 Kitty Pop (s) 3 Dorothy Gale & Toto (s) 3 Cowardly Lion (s) 3 Scarecrow (s) 3 Tin Man (s) 3 Unikitty (s) Based on the above distribution, I have managed to achieve three full complete sets of 20 one-of-a kind minifigures each. This is the fourth time in LEGO CMFs history, where three full complete sets can be achieved. This arrangement will make many LEGO fans very happy, by simply buying a mint box to share among friends and families. There is nothing much to analyse since all the minifigures are equally distributed. I wonder which are the minifigures will be the most popular and hard-to-find for you guys. It's a little hard to predict, but my best guess are Giraffe Guy, all of the Wizard of Oz characters, and just maybe Watermelon Dude. What about your prediction? Front view comparison of current LEGO Movie 2 Series with the rest of the past CMFs series I had arranged all the different minifigures packets as part of my overall comparison. From the above aerial image, you can see an impressive transformation of LEGO CMFs Series over the long course of time. It is so delightful to be able to see all of the assorted designs series at one glance. The LEGO Minifigures Theme is a force not to be reckoned with and remain a very strong contender in the TLG product range since 2010. 29 different releases including regional exclusives are not easy to replicate the craze in many LEGO CMFs followers. So, are you still following the CMFs craze since Day 1? Take a closer look at the following images. This is the front view of The LEGO Movie 2 Series packet, while this shows the back view of it. This is an image that shows the back view comparison for all of these packets. The new LEGO Movie 2 Series packet is larger when compared with the very first LEGO Movie Series and the size of it is exactly the same as the Unikitty Series where the content are packed in individual sealed packet. When you open the packet, you will see this amount of content pouring out and the instruction manual is actually sealed with a tape. This is the first time I had seen such packing and not exactly all of the posters are sealed with a tape. There are some misses which make me wondered if this process is manual? Among the 20 minifigures, there are 6 minifigures with a separate sealed packet within the building packet. It surprised me to see the minifigures are produced and arranged in a different manner which suggest to me that their productions are done in different factories in different regions. The sealed packets are confined to Crayon Girl, Hula Lula, Swamp Creature, Dorothy Gale & Toto and Cowardly Lion. The Kitty Pop was somehow omitted from my string of photo images which I am unable to produce. I am sure it was sealed packet but how can I miss the shot entirely. In fact, there are some building elements which are kept separately from the mentioned sealed packets. I supposed the reason why the building packet is much bigger is due to be able to accommodate these sealed packets respectively. Simple reminder to my regular CMFs readers. If you are intending to collect the precious and hard-to-find minifigures, hone your skills for the touch and feel method. This is an important skill set in order to locate the minifigures that you want without spending too much money by randomly acquire them, especially so when you are intending to buy large quantities. Your sole mission is to memorise and remember the minifigures assortments for each of the specialised designs. Isolate and identify the most unique accessory or accessories for the particular minifigure. From there, eliminate the torso, head and legs and feel for the other parts. The sole disadvantage of this method is that much time would be wasted if the minifigures that you are looking for have been taken from the box. You might also end up with sore numb thumbs after feeling them. Please be careful and treat the packets with respect when you do the above. Reason being, there are many fragile and soft parts in this series. Front view of The LEGO Movie Series 2 promotional poster Back view of The LEGO Movie Series 2 promotional poster 1) Awesome Remix Emmet Without further ado, let's bring out the first minifigure design and is none other than familiar protagonist Emmet. His iconic construction outfit remain the same even though there's an update on his design to make the safety beads appeared to be worn out. His badge remain at the same spot on his left leg. He is very much into the same hit song "Everything is Awesome", and I guess in the movie there will be some remix being made to this original soundtrack. At least, Emmet can still enjoy his music on his smartphone despite end of the world. Parts assortment The parts assortment are slightly above average. The new hairpiece increase the variants for the headphone which are nice and useful for minifigures customisation for City folks. The accessory including the generic white takeaway cup and the smartphone are useful city accessories. The minifigure design is pretty common even though there are some good efforts to make the construction outfit worn out. Emmet also contain an alternate facial expression which feature a slight variant of his happy wide smile. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. Different variants of Emmet Everything is Awesome I wish for latte or smoothie Shall we exchange our music tracks? 2) Battle-Ready Lucy The next in line is Battle-Ready Lucy. Lucy has previously gone by the name of "Wyldstyle". She is considered to be a remarkable Master Builder and she is always ready for any impending threats as evident by her outfit. She is also Emmet's love interest and she played a significant role in this coming sequel. Parts assortment The parts assortment are slightly above average. The whole apocalyptic combat outfit suit her well. Her covered headpiece worked well in harsh desert surroundings. Her basic accessories such as the binocular and black quiver is good to have. Lucy also contain an alternate facial expression which feature an angry variant and it is best to see it clearly with her headpiece removed. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. Different variants of Wyldstyle aka Lucy Where is the Junk Market? Why is Emmet not battle ready? 3) Apocalypse Benny The next minifigure is the classic blue spaceman which is responsible for reviving the Classic Space movement. Apocalyptic Benny is a great friend to Emmet and Lucy. I can't remember why or how he lose one of his arm and replace with a mechanical robotic arm. I am hoping the movie will provide an explanation for it. Parts assortment The parts assortment are average. The overall design is instantly iconic for Benny and he is joined by his other Classic Space friends in 70841 Benny's Space Squad. I have not managed to pick that set up as it is currently out of stock. The red tool box is available in other designs previously and I like the additional Classic Space logo to distinguish this item. The rest of the gear is pretty standard including his oxygen tank and helmet. This minifigure also contain one spare part. Benny also contain an alternate facial expression which feature a very jovial look. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. Join me for my apocalyptic journey Childhood Classic Space minifigure Galaxy Squad at your service 4) Giraffe Guy The next minifigure is the Giraffe Guy donned in the animal costume which are traditional with the LEGO CMFs. I am super excited with the design of this minifigure and I am very glad this had been released as part of the animal costumes compilation. Not exactly sure what significant role it will hold for the upcoming movie, but it is not that important anyway. This is my favourite minifigure in this series. Parts assortment The parts assortment are average. The overall giraffe design is outstanding and highly detailed with all rounded printing. The height of the minifigure is also much taller as denoted by the specialised head mold. The new leave part is an useful accessory and it even come with a spare piece. Giraffe Guy also contain an alternate facial expression which feature a smiling look. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. Animal costumes party but whose missing Zoological Gardens visit 5) Crayon Girl The next minifigure is Crayon Girl. This Crayon Girl is a flowery design with purple colour tipping. This is also the first design which takes the form of a crayon. Perhaps in the future, we can also see a pencil equivalent in the future. Her role in this movie is not specifically mentioned but judging from the drawing, we probably will see her in many forms of artistic drawings. Parts assortment The parts assortment are slightly above average. The overall crayon design is nice and cute and highly detailed with all rounded printing. The 2x2 simple printed purple hand-drawn image is an useful accessory for children drawing. I can technically hold this minifigure and imagine myself colouring with it. Crayon Girl also contain an alternate facial expression which feature a smiling look. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. Let's use some crayon for drawing Costume Festival My fellow pointy friends 6) Sherry Scratchen-Post & Scarfield Now the next LEGO Movie resident which appeared previously was formerly introduced as Mrs Scratchen-Post. In this case, we now know her by the name of Sherry right after her surname. Furthermore, her nasty fierce looking cat by her side is named as Scarfield. The cat is not your friendly Garfield in this case, unlike the rest of the cats which are familiar with. Parts assortment The parts assortment are above average especially Scarfield, the cat. It is an excellent design which contained detailed printing and a steampunk hair on the cat's head. These are some nice remarkable whole fun of awesomeness. Furthermore, this minifigure's design contain all rounded print around the torso and leg. The torso side prints at the arm are particularly what I am fond of to make her look extremely rugged. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. Different variants of Mrs Scratchen-Post Want to join our band? Viking Showdown 7) Hula Lula The next new minifigure is Hula Lula and I am guessing her name is Lula and she maybe related to Series 3 - Hula Dancer. Based on her dressing, you can imagine she is resided in tropical beaches and I have no idea at this point on her role in the movie. Her outfit made her real bright due to the lime green stylish hairpiece. Her design suggest that could be either a DJ or Singer but I will leave it to your imagination. Parts assortment The parts assortment are slightly above average. It include the hula skirting, new pink record piece and new pink microphone which had been extended and featured in 4 minifigures in this current series. It also contain a spare microphone which is an useful minifigure accessory. Hula Lula also contain an alternate facial expression which feature her smiling look. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. Beach Party What music track are you holding? 8) Watermelon Dude The next minifigure release is the brand new Watermelon Dude. This is an original design worthy to be part of the regular CMFs similar to the Giraffe Guy. I am happy there are some originality which is not character specific from the movie and I am guessing he could be just a camo role in the movie. Nonetheless, the revolving food costumes are underway and the numbers are growing steadily over the CMFs release. Parts assortment The parts assortment are above average. It include the new watermelon slice piece and there is even a spare piece for this brand new accessory. The watermelon headpiece is specialised and it is quite huge. It appear to be 1/6 of a whole watermelon. Watermelon Dude also contain an alternate facial expression which feature his confident shades. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. Food Costumes Don't you dare run away from us 9) Flashback Lucy This is the second variant of Lucy in this series. The minifigure name suggest to me that she was a musical talent before she became Wyldstyle even before President Business ruled the City. She is likely to be a part of a musical band and her platinum album is "Everything is Awesome". Her outfit is pop and hip and I am sure we will see more of Lucy's origin in this movie. Parts assortment The parts assortment are slightly above average. It include the new 2x4 printed piece of the platinum album record. She also hold a pink microphone and one of it is a spare. Her minifigure also encompass detailed printing. Flashback Lucy also contain an alternate facial expression which feature her singing sensation. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. Reflecting on my memories Mighty Divas 10) Swamp Creature Not exactly sure what is this new character will be doing inside this movie and I also have no idea if he stands at the side of good or evil. This minifigure is definitely a close relative from the Monster Fighters Theme where this design can be found in 9461 The Swamp Creature. It also had a distant relative in design similarities in the 75903 Haunted Lighthouse. Parts assortment The parts assortment are slightly below average. It also include a whip which I guess is his choice of weapon. The overall design stayed true to previous Swamp Creatures renditions. Swamp Creature does not exactly contain an alternate facial expression but instead there is some form of back printing at the head itself. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. Get ready for end of the world You are not going to escape 11) Candy Rapper Candy Rapper is the latest character in this series and I do not have a clear idea of her role. My first impression of her as being more of a Pop Star, rather than a rapper. I wonder what kind of songs will she perform in this movie and we shall keep a look out for it. Her sweet pink outfit does make her look nice and attractive especially with the glittering effect. Parts assortment The parts assortment are above average. I am particularly fond of the printed retro cassette tape which I hope most of you know what is that item. She hold a pink microphone and one of it is a spare. I do like the pinkish new design of the new ballerina skirting. Candy Rapper also contain an alternate facial expression which feature her wink expression that's rather sweet. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. N Pop and Candy Rap Let's compose a new song together 12) Gone Golfin' President Business The next character is President Business who is previously the main antagonist in the last movie. He is now becoming more of a good person in the new movie (I think) and we will be expecting him to support Emmet and the gang to fight against the new villains. In this outfit, he is in a golfing attire and I don't recall seeing any minifigures in such a design before. This is definitely a plus point for the increased City minifigures' design and you got to love checkered clothing. Parts assortment The parts assortment are slightly above average. The golf club is the breakthrough and I am very pleased to see this accessory appearing for the first time. Some great usage of a golf club include whacking zombies or a form of alternate weapon other than golfing. He also contain an alternate facial expression which feature his smile. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. Different variants of President Business Any assignments for me? Boss, this is the next business agenda 13) Apocalypseburg Abe Abraham Lincoln is back for more apocalyptic action. He is a warrior and definitely a leader in this new conflicting war. He had successfully transformed himself to be a much fierce and mean character. His outfit definitely is a winner for steampunk customisation and the whole high hat and axes-loving clan is just making him a tough nut to deal with. I am sure we will see him defending the town with the rest of the citizens. Parts assortment The parts assortment are average. The battle axe is a good weapon addition and I am surprised to see a spare brown rod for the weapon. It could be even better if he wield dual axes as depicted from his back printing. Apocalypseburg Abe also contain an alternate facial expression which feature his kinder smile. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. Different variants of Abraham Lincoln We miss the old Statue of Liberty Surrender your healing potion 14) Vest Friend Rex Vest Friend Rex is a new protagonist in the movie and his appearance was seen extensively in the movie trailer where he is aiding Emmet to save the gang from the evil captors. He is an expert Raptor tamer and bear an awful familiarity with Owen Grady from Jurassic World. He had his own LEGO Movie sets including the 70826 Rex's Rex-treme Offroader and 70835 Rex's Rexplorer. Parts assortment The parts assortment are above average. The electric blue raptor is what made me fond of its accessory. The new print on the baby raptor made it look rather dangerous and mutated looking which increased the variants with other current baby raptors. His entire outfit look more like an adventurer with a mix of cowboy. Vest Friend Rex also contain an alternate facial expression which feature his smug smile. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. Raptor Commander Join us in Jurassic World Your skills are suited for Ultra Agents 15) Kitty Pop The next character which we will be seeing is a musical character known as Kitty Pop. She specialised in pop songs and I don't quite understand why there are so many musical characters in this series, which make me wondered if the movie will contain part musical part action. The bright pink kitty outfit is quite a daring performing costume accompanied with her electric guitar and microphone. Parts assortment The parts assortment are slightly above average. The new printed electric guitar is a nice addition and the same pink microphones are welcoming including a spare ones. Did I mention you will get 4 spare pink microphones in a complete set. She also come with a white tail at the back. Kitty Pop also contain an alternate facial expression which feature her singing performance. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. The new girl group - Pussycats LEGO Musical Festival Show Can you sing? 16) Dorothy Gale & Toto The next biggest highlight will be the Wizard of Oz appearing in this CMFs series. Anyone familiar with the Wizard of Oz origin? I am sure most of us do. I don't really recall seeing them inside the movie trailer and it was indeed a surprise to see it being included here. I can so imagine the popularity of these next four minifigures. I also wondered if is related to the 80 years of celebration for the Wizard of Oz movie which was first released in 1939. I am sure we are all welcomed with Dorothy Gale and her pet dog, Toto where she was swept into an alternate universe of Oz filled with talking creatures. The character itself had stayed true with the original reference. Parts assortment The parts assortment are excellent. She is given a new light blue checkered skirting at her waist and the new coloured grey dog is welcomed as well. Her hairpiece is made up of soft rubbery material and she does look a lot like Alice in Wonderland. Dorothy Gale also contain an alternate facial expression which feature her sweet smile. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. Pet owners' gathering Join us for an afternoon tea Anyone can help me to get home? 17) Cowardly Lion The next character who joined Dorothy in her journey in Oz, is the Cowardly Lion who lack of courage. This explained that the courageous medal which he is holding to bolster his missing courage from the wizard at the end of the journey. The lion character design is well perceived and is useful for animal costume as well or even used in some foreseeable creation like Chronicles of Narnia or Lion King for example. Parts assortment The parts assortment are above average. He is given a transparent 1x2 printed tile of a new courageous medal. The overall lion design is highly detailed which even feature its own lion tail. Cowardly Lion also contain an alternate facial expression which feature his pleasing smile. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. it does look like Chronic of something Get back into the cage Lead me to your kingdom 18) Scarecrow The next character in this adventure journey is the Scarecrow who wants a brain. This explained the certificate of achievement which he had received from the wizard at the end of the journey. The scarecrow design is an improved version and much lively looking than the previous design in Series 11. I like this design better. Parts assortment The parts assortment are slightly above average but it will be even better if it include a pitchfork. He is given a transparent 2x2 printed tile of a certificate of achievement. The overall scarecrow design is iconic and the new hat is one particular nice highlight. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. Scarecrow upgrade Attained Certificate of Achievement Certificate Holders Why are you standing outside? 19) Tin Man The last character in this Wizard of OZ journey is the Tin Man who wants a heart. This explained the ticking heart shaped watch which he had received from the wizard at the end of the journey which allow him to see the human attributes/feelings. The Tin Man is an excellent design and many mistaken at first that it is an one shade of grey tone. There is a two shade of silver tones with a shimmering silver effect on the torso and leg. Parts assortment The parts assortment are above average. He is given a printed ticking heart shaped and and a metal axe. The helmet is a nice looking metal funnel and the bow-tie is also coated with silver. This minifigure comes with 2 spare bow-ties and 1 spare ticking heart shaped. The overall Tin Man design is real iconic and it stayed closed with the actual reference. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. The Wizard of Oz Robotic Origins Lead the way to your realm 20) Unikitty Last but not least, the final character in this series is Unikitty. But why must it be Unikitty! It seems so repetitive to me that it took me awhile to notice that the facial expression on Unikitty is unique. If I am mistaken, please let me know. Unikitty is the main character along with Emmet and friends. She played a significant role in the previous and upcoming movie. I did wish that there are some variants being made to Unikitty but I would think Unikitty is probably included for those who never had the chance to buy any Unikitty before in its original unmodified state. Parts assortment The parts assortment are below average. There are no accompanying accessories and it is made up of building bricks to form Unikitty. There are a large number of spare parts in case you misplaced those tiny elements. You can view more of the details from the all rounded view inclusive of front, side and back view. Different variants of Unikitty The gang is here to save the world again! Hall of Unikitties & Puppycorns My current CMFs minifigures' layout The LEGO Movie 2 Series will be launching on 1st February 2019 (worldwide) To conclude, the LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Movie 2 Series is a specialised CMFs release featuring a total of 20 brand new design related to the new blockbuster movie. The biggest pull factor is the 4 main characters from Wizard of Oz which I am guessing is related to its 80 years anniversary. This entire series is an outstanding release with minor rant such as the repeated inclusion of Unikitty design. Overall, I would said this is quite a remarkable release including fulfilling the distribution ratio with 3 complete sets in a sealed box. This alone, is a huge winner to ensure the distribution spread is done appropriately. Furthermore, I also noted with the minifigure neck marking increased the tightness and grip of the head and neck. This is actually great for CMFs which was previously lacking. Traditional LEGO CMFs series always appeal widely to the masses. One thing for certain is TLG is not really intending to just focus on the traditional stuff. There are already clear signs in the shift in their marketing and design approach. Time will tell if the change in the LEGO CMFs could sustain and continue to appeal to general public and LEGO fans. It is not an easy theme to continue create, design and introduce many new creative and original designs for each new series. The LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series or known as LEGO Minifigures Theme shall always be a rare commanding class of their own, which distinguish themselves from regular LEGO Theme and special releases. It has been a very long standing tradition and yet they are able to retain the charm and excitement, until today and I am not out of interest yet. Now with a total of 458 minifigures released for the entire Series 1 to 18, the LEGO Movie Series, LEGO Simpsons Series 1 to 2, Disney LEGO Minifigures, LEGO Batman Movie series 1 to 2, LEGO Ninjago Movie Series, LEGO Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts Series and the current LEGO Movie 2 series, not including Mr. Gold which unfortunately I do not have the blessings or lucky stars to own it till this date, and the special exclusive Toy Soldier and Zombie Skateboarder minifigures that can only be obtained through The Minifigures Character Encyclopedia books respectively. At such accelerated releasing rate, I wonder what is everyone's display plan and if they can keep up with the display shelving area for future expansion. For myself, I had already done a nice display for my own CMFs and with this new series, I had maxed out my current display, as seen above. I will need to work something out in order to accommodate future releases. Meanwhile, I really wonder what exciting new series will TLG have for us. Only time will tell and let's be patient about it. I am confident that it will be worth the wait as always. Please note that all opinions and content shown in this Eurobricks pictorial review is from 'WhiteFang' and is not meant to represent LEGO official views. It is purely stated to share as a vantage point of a reviewer. Please note that the The LEGO Minifigures - LEGO Movie 2 Series contain useful spare parts/accessories. The overall spare parts can be seen here. Summary review Playability: 10/10 (New LEGO Movie 2 characters which are expanded onto the main stream of sets which can also be used in other LEGO Themes.)Design: 10/10 (High amount of detailed printing, new parts/accessories and alternate facial expressions.) Price: 7/10 (Pricing notch for SRP is not out but I guess it will be hovering around SGD$6.50 and distribution ratio is top notch.)Overall: 9/10 (Get ready for another amazing CMFs experience with the new and old characters of LEGO Movie casting.) These new Chinese New Year sets are highly anticipated and are hard to come by if you are not situated in Asia Pacific region. This set is currently available in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, etc. It is also rumoured to be available for a short period of time. Not exactly sure if is factually correct. Our international AFOLs such as Europe and US are likely require to rely on secondary marketplace for sourcing. Without further ado, let me share my perspective if is indeed worthwhile for you to get this set and add into your collection. Name: 80101 Chinese New Year's Eve Dinner Theme: LEGO System / Seasonal / Chinese New Year Year: 2019 Pieces: 616 Minifigs: 6 minifigures Price: SGD 89.90 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink, Brick Insights An original box image of the 80101 Chinese New Year's Eve Dinner Back view of the original box image of the 80101 Chinese New Year's Eve Dinner Get ready for this detailed amazing festive set exclusive This is indeed a mega surprise for me to see an official LEGO set like this being released under the Chinese Festival Special Edition flag. When this set was first released couple of days ago, these were flying off the shelves until I managed to get it locally in TRU by paying SRP for it. Well, I personally find is worth the SRP and it is reasonably priced. The box is quite big and is highly recommend to debox in order to save some shipping costs if you are intending to import elsewhere. As a Chinese, the Chinese New Year is an important traditional festival and is widely celebrated in Chinese community. This is a very meaningful set which illustrate the importance of family togetherness in Chinese New Year Eve, where the loved ones will gather for a reunion dinner in the living or dining area before ushering the New Year. For the coming 2019 Lunar Calendar, it is the Year of the Pig which we are looking celebrating. The Chinese placed huge emphasis on the reunion dinner and this is the set where I can relate my grandparents, my parents, siblings and my spouse together celebrating. Even though families may grow apart when they grow up, it is the Chinese New Year which will always bring us back and be filial to our parents. Although this set was not explicit but I visualise the house belonging to the grandparents and the family coming over for a visit. That's how I will look at it. The content of the sealed box The sealed box come with five numbered mint packs. The box contain an instruction manual which also reveal the building stages overview and 2 units of 16x16 Tan baseplate. It also contain an essential sticker sheet. After completing the built, these are the remaining spare parts including an orange brick separator. The 3-generation family in their own minifigures' design The next In this set, there are six nice minifigures illustrating the 3-generation family which comprise of the grandparents, parents and children. The minifigures are wearing new clothes for the Chinese New Year. Flowery and bright clothes are the way to go and it is a taboo to wear black colour as it will offend the elderly. I find the minifigures' design prints are pretty excellent with the traditional attire, not forgetting the fact that all of these minifigures contain back printing. The mummy minifigure is wearing the new skirt slope while the children are still equipped with their traditional short legs. I was hoping they were given movable short legs instead to increase playability. Each of the child is holding a printed 1x2 red packet tile. The minifigures are also included with alternate expressions and I am pleased to note four out of six minifigures contain another side of their emotional feelings. I had to applaud the designer effort and I am very keen to know who is the designer as well. He had certainly combine modern and traditional elements of a typical Chinese home in a very warm and cosy environment. You can see some awesome interior details like the shelving, computer monitor which showing the Chinese New Year countdown programme, curtains with traditional pearl gold window grilles which are great parts, Chinese couplets, and family portraits. You can enjoy viewing more of the up close viewing angles from the front view, festive decoration at front entrance, side view (L) and side view (B). Chinese cuisine at its finest This is the most exciting highlights. All of these printed tiles and bowls can be found in packet 5. It contain 7 bowls with 1x1 round rice studs inside, 6 pairs of chopsticks/spoon in 1x2 printed tiles, a wide assorted of circular dishes like black sesame buns, meat stew, dumplings, chicken, crab, fried stuff, some sides in 1x2 printed tiles like prawns, spring rolls, chye sim, and a big fish in the centre coupled with a 1x1 round printed stud that depict something like a sauce (I think). More importantly, the Lazy Susan at the dining table can be rotated with ease and is quite a common sight for big families since most of the Chinese serving are done in communal style. We are here at our parents' place Let's us help you with the food serving Come and have dinner first before watching the countdown programme Spending quality time with the grand children Family visiting Family visiting Reunion dinner is fundamentally important in Chinese culture Everyone is preparing to usher the Year of the Pig (2018) To conclude, this is the most impressive 2019 set which is released so far and I had so much enjoyment building this set up. I can just pick it up and show to anyone who are able to quickly identify the key meaning of this building set. Very impressive. The only pity is due to its exclusivity in Asia Pacific region. Not to forget that there is a 80102 Dragon Dance which I had also bought and aim to build it soon and the last elusive 80103 Dragon Boat which is going to be exclusive in just China. We shall see how this develop and I hope you will get a chance to own this great building set as well. Summary review Playability: 9/10 (Fun to play and create family bonding scenes in the living area.) Design: 9/10 (Excellent minifigures' design with completed back printing and most are accompanied with alternate expressions.) Price: 9/10 (Get this set at the SRP or with slight discount if possible. The set is very reasonably priced and I got no issue paying for SRP.) Overall: 9/10 (Get this set no matter what and join in the festive holidays.) I gave it a "5" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr.
  4. Hello everyone, Earlier last week, I had reviewed the highly anticipated 80101 Chinese New Year's Eve Dinner. Due to personal family emergency, I had to defer this review and it pained me to review this set due to the close proximity of this sad incident. Though the start of my new year is grim, but I had decided not to dwell on it and made the best out of this set review. Similar to the sister set of 80101 Chinese New Year's Eve Dinner, this set also suffered the same fate of being regional exclusive in Asia Pacific region. This set is currently available in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, etc. At this point of the review, I can sadly assume there are no more ready stocks available in retail stores in Singapore. There will not be any further replenishment. I half suspect the other mentioned countries had almost ran out of stock. If you are still on the fence, do not hesitate and get it before you go on to read my review or any others in the Internet. Because it will likely be gone even though you are willing to pay SRP for it. Without further ado, allow me to share my perspective. Name: 80102 Dragon Dance Theme: LEGO System / Seasonal / Chinese New Year Year: 2019 Pieces: 616 Minifigs: 5 minifigures Price: SGD 84.90 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink, Brick Insights An original box image of the 80102 Dragon Dance Back view of the original box image of the 80102 Dragon Dance This is another incredible special exclusive for the Chinese New Year festival This is the second official LEGO set released under the Chinese Festival Special Edition flag which is indeed a pleasant surprise. As mentioned in my opening paragraph, there are no ready stocks to be seen in Singapore. If you can get this set, the SRP is extremely reasonably priced and I had to admit that it is affordable for such a LEGO set design. Our Eurobricks member, badbob001 had shared that the designers for this set are Nick Vas (@princegalidor) who is former Eurobricks Action Figures Moderator and Niek van Slagmaat (@toothdominoes). Their tweet can be found in this link. The Dragon Dance is a traditional Chinese dance performance involving a team of skilled performers using poles to rhythmically move a dragon prop. It is usually performed during Chinese festive celebrations. Dragon dance performers are usually martial artists or acrobats who are able to move their bodies rhythmically and synchronise their steps so that the dragon appears to move gracefully. When the performance commences, a man holding a long pole with a dragon pearl affixed to the top stands in front of the dragon’s head. He swings the dragon pearl from side to side, while moving in tune to the sounds of the dragon drums and accompanying music. The dragon chases the pearl and attempts to capture it, but is never successful. And so the dance continues, with the dragon pearl teasing the dragon and the dragon showing off its antics while trying to catch it. The Chinese believe that performing the dragon dance during festivals and celebrations drives away evil spirits and ushers in good luck and blessings for the community. The content of the sealed box The sealed box come with four group of numbered mint packs. The box contain an instruction manual which also reveal the building stages overview. After completing the built, these are the remaining spare parts including a brand new teal brick separator. The Dragon Dance minifigures performers In this set, there are five well designed minifigures, largely featuring the four new dragon dance performers and the almost similar CMFs Series 12 - Piggy Guy in 2014. The minifigure head is different and more importantly, the new Piggy Guy minifigure does not contain back printing unlike the doppelganger in CMFs Series 12. In this case, the mold and leg are the same parts. Henceforth, this is still a good chance for fans whom had missed this minifigure previously and also don't mind the lack of back printing. The dragon dance performers are nicely designed with some good attempts to make slight variations through the facial expressions of the minifigures' heads. The performing outfit are the same and so if anyone like to army build some sort of red henchmen specialised in martial arts, this could just be the right formula. All of the minifigures contain back printing with the exception of the new Piggy Guy. Only one minifigure contain an alternate facial expression. By unwinding the mechanism, you could see the entire dragon dancing by see the body sections moving up and down which can be quite therapeutic. The ingenious playing winding mechanism is encapsulated within the wooden blocks. It utilise different angles of technic pins to allocate in certain positions by distinguish its different movements. You can take a moment and view a short video right at the end of the review to experience the playing mechanism. The most important thing which pleased me greatly is the lack of stickers. I am so glad to see the dragon scale fins are printed and you get a total of 14 printed pieces in this set. The dragon head design is accurately designed with the excellent usage of uncommon animal parts like tan frogs and scorpions. The dragon tail is also equally articulated with a good combination of parts. The printed pearl is able to rotate together with the winding mechanism which is attached to the pole. You can enjoy viewing more of the up close viewing angles from the front view, bottom view, side view (L), side view (R), the performing act (1) and the performing act (2). A closer look at the Dragon Dance performance Which dragon is more dangerous looking? Golden Dragon making a special performing appearance 2019 - Year of the Pig These are the special exclusive Chinese Festival sets To conclude, this is another great exciting 2019 set which is released so far. There are so much building enjoyment and the only significant disappointment is that such an excellent set like this is restricted in limited quantities within Asia Pacific region. I hope I am able to get the next rumoured 80103 Dragon Boat set as well which is exclusive in China. and I had so much enjoyment building this set up. If you are still thinking and able to see these sets in stores, don't hesitate. Just pick it up first and think of what to do with it later if you end up not liking it. I highly doubt most will not dislike this new festive sets. Summary review Playability: 10/10 (Very fun to play with on the winding mechanism for the dragon dance movement.) Design: 8/10 (Above average minifigures' design and excellent dragon dance design.) Price: 9/10 (Get this set at SRP if possible. The set is very reasonably priced and I got no qualms paying for SRP.) Overall: 9/10 (Get this set if you are still able to.) I gave it a "5" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr.
  5. Hello everyone, I am very excited to share my first 2019 Marvel Superheroes review with Eurobricks Community. I am sure Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans are looking forward to the upcoming blockbuster movie of Captain Marvel which is slated for release on 8 March 2019. This is the only feature set which will come from the movie which will bring us back to the time where Nick Fury had both eyes. When this set was first released, I knew I had to acquire it due to its overall appeal. Without further ado, let me share my thoughts onto why this set is desirable in my mind. Name: 76127 Captain Marvel and The Skrull Attack Theme: LEGO System / Marvel Superheroes / Captain Marvel Year: 2019 Pieces: 306 Minifigs: 3 minifigures plus a cat Price: USD $29.99, GBP 24.99, EURO 29.99, SGD 49.90 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink, Brick Insights An original box image of the 76127 Captain Marvel and The Skrull Attack Back view of the original box image of the 76127 Captain Marvel and The Skrull Attack The latest Captain Marvel official movie set coverage This 76127 Captain Marvel and The Skrull Attack is a medium-sized set and it is typical for TLG to include a vehicle or aircraft of an equivalent accompanied with 3 minifigures. In this case, the set appeal is combined with the Quinjet and the minifigures assortment. In general, people could either shunned this set by buying the minifigures via BrickLink or simply like the overall set design and the minifigures. Luckily, the latter formula works well for me. I chosen to pick up this set at a very early stage without discount is due to my strong preference of Quinjet which is the stealth assault aircraft or air transport for SHIELD. I had enjoyed seeing the numerous renditions for the Quinjet release and this is the fourth Quinjet design and is the smallest among all. This set took me about 30 minutes to finish building. Let's go on with the rest of the review. The content of the sealed box The sealed box come with three numbered mint packs. The box contain an instruction manual and a dreaded sticker sheet which I did not apply for this set. After completing the built, these are the remaining spare parts for packet 1, packet 2 and packet 3. The brand new minifigures from Captain Marvel movie In the above minifigures assortment, we have (from left) Nick Fury, Captain Marvel, Goose and Skrull. Let's look at the main character, Captain Marvel. Her real name was Carol Danvers. She was a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot and member of an elite Kree military unit called Starforce. Her DNA was somehow fused with a Kree during an accident, imbuing her with superhuman strength, energy projection, and flight. The minifigure design is accurate to the movie reference. Next, we look at Nick Fury who will be the future Director of SHIELD. In this case, he is just a low level operative in this movie. The minifigure is nice to have, even though I kind of disliked the vanilla black legs similar to Talos. The last minifigure is Talos. He is a shape-shifting Skrull and is on a mission to wreck destruction on Earth. For his minifigure, I find it to be poorly designed and far off from the actual movie reference. He look just like a regular looking alien minifigure which hardly strike off as any worthy adversary. Of course, not to forget Goose who is the Cat. The animal's identity remain as a mystery other than its name is closely related with Top Gun. All of the minifigures contain back printing. Only Captain Marvel and Nick Fury minifigures contain alternate facial expression. Captain Marvel, we are pleased to have you with us Evolution of Nick Fury The entire building content for Packet 1The completed built for Packet 1 The entire building content for Packet 2The completed built for Packet 2 The entire building content for Packet 3 The completed built for Packet 3 The completed built of the Quinjet The completed Quinjet design is pretty appealing to me, despite of the size being the smallest among the four released Quinjets till this date. This design is very different from the earlier Quinjets which we are familiar with in either Agents of Shields or MCU movies which is much stealth looking. My best guess is that this Quinjet is much more of a prototype which is designed as a fighter jet. I am also fond of the colour schema which make a good mix of grey and distinct red bricks. The Quinjet is measured at 30cm length, 21cm wide and 11cm height. It is packed with the state-of-the-art MLRS (Multi-Launch Rocket System) which can be pushed via the rear bricks. However, do note that the pushing mechanism is fragile and I often get annoyed that the mechanism got stuck or fall off. The wings and flaperon are also adjustable but the other annoying thing is the frequent drop of the rocket booster which is supported by a 1x1 round stud. The cockpit cover can be removed but you have to completely remove it as if it is ejecting the pilot out of the cockpit. Although these features are great to have, but the design aspect for the playability is weak. The overall Quinjet design on its exterior is nicely designed which I am fond of it, but I am just frustrated with the 'drops' that could affect my 'swooshing' performance. The last playing mechanism is the surprise cargo compartment door at the rear where it can housed Goose safely. You can enjoy viewing more of the up close viewing angles from the front view, bottom view, side view, back view, and the landing position. Quinjet taking a right bang Prototype Quinjet vs Commissioned Quinjet Who are you? Where did you come from? This is the End Game Surrender! You can't pass through this barrier To conclude, I enjoyed the building and playing experience along with my other official LEGO Marvel sets. It integrates well apart from the slight design flaw on the MLRS, cockpit cover and weak connection of the rocket booster engine. The exterior design is adequately and worthy to be in my display for sometimes. It even look nice (based on my context) without those dreaded stickers. On the minifigures' aspect, I am quite disappointed with Talos due to it being a typical alien looking minifigure. Captain Marvel and Nick Fury is great to have in your LEGO Marvel minifigures collection. If you are a Marvel fan, be sure to get this set in your collection and is recommended to acquire it with some discount. Summary review Playability: 9/10 (Well integrated with other Marvel playsets but it contain slight weak playing design.) Design: 8/10 (Slightly above average minifigures' design and excellent Quinjet design.) Price: 7/10 (Consider this set at a discount as the SRP is still quite expensive but unless if you are a fan of Captain Marvel and can't wait.) Overall: 8/10 (Join in the hype of Captain Marvel with the fun of this LEGO set.) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr.

REVIEW: 80101 Chinese New Year's Eve Dinner

Dear all, these images are new addition to my new customised printed Chinese Couplets. I bought two sets of them with three couplets as a whole. The part is entirely LEGO part and the print is UV printing which is pretty good. I got this through my friend's assistance who is good to access such Chinese shopping website (my Mandarin is not that good), https://m.tb.cn/h.3Eqi3Oh?sm=851ff3 I reckon is about USD$4 per set. Take a look at these new images. Overall, I felt it added a much better finishing than the official stickers. Just my one cent.
  7. Hello everyone, Since 2011 with the launch of the LEGO Ninjago original theme and cartoon series, we had seen astounding growth of LEGO Ninjago fan base. The humble sets' beginning had already begun to be part of a growing list of Classic LEGO Ninjago sets. TLG had decided to revisit past significant playsets and re-designed these existing sets under Ninjago Legacy flagship from the past seasons. Without further ado, allow me to bring you my first LEGO Ninjago Legacy purchase in this review. Name: 70666 The Golden Dragon Theme: LEGO System / Ninjago / Legacy / Season 2 Year: 2019 Pieces: 171 Minifigs: 3 minifigures Price: USD $19.99, GBP 17.99, EURO 19.99, SGD 34.90 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink, Brick Insights An original box image of the 70666 The Golden Dragon Back view of the original box image of the 70666 The Golden Dragon Recreate the grand final battle between Golden Ninja Lloyd and Overlord This Golden Dragon set is a re-designed set from the 2013 LEGO 70503 The Golden Dragon. The former design was a much bigger dragon than this latest design. If you want to compare further, there's actually an even smaller Golden Dragon from the LEGO Dimension Fun Pack. The current design is much compact including the box size. The pieces count are slightly lesser from 252 to 171 pieces and yet remain the same minifigures' count as before. The resulting consequence for this redesign allow a drop of pricing of at least USD$10 (on average). With so much new changes being introduced, we shall see if this set hold the same mark as its predecessor. The content of the sealed box The sealed box come with three mint packs and two of which are numbered. The box contain an instruction manual and a dreaded sticker sheet which I did not apply for this set. After completing the built, these are the remaining spare parts for packet 1 and packet 2. The updated LEGO Ninjago minifigures In the above minifigures assortment, we have (from left) Golden Ninja Lloyd, Overlord and Stone Army Scout. All of these minifigures were updated with improved torso, facial expressions and slight update on accessories for these existing LEGO Ninjago characters. As most of you could be familiar with Lloyd and also becoming a Golden Ninja in Season 2. He is one of the main characters in the Ninjago Universe and most of his appearances revolve around being the Green Ninja. You can see the differences on Golden Ninja Lloyd with its earlier design. The next amazing character is Overlord which is a huge improvement design from its predecessor that used the skirt piece. I definitely like the new ghastly purple ghost leg piece. The torso design also include an updated piece of his forearms and backarms. His weapon had also been updated to represent something like naginata. The Stone Army Scout had also undergo some improvement changes on the facial expression. The overall uniform is almost similar and it can create some slight variation between the previous Stone Army soldiers. All of the minifigures contain back printing. Only Golden Ninja Lloyd minifigure contains alternate facial expression. The entire building content for Packet 1The completed built for Packet 1 The entire building content for Packet 2The completed built for Packet 2 The completed built of the Golden Dragon The completed Golden Dragon is a middle size scale, measuring at 24cm length, 26cm wide and 6cm height. It made use of the Mixel ball joint to create good movement articulation on the legs and wings. The Golden Dragon is much smaller than the first Golden Dragon design and yet the size of it remain closely to scale with the minifigure sizing without making it too overbearing. The design seems a little firmsy and I am not exactly sure if is not grounded enough to make it stand on its own without falling down. Unfortunately, I also don't have a chance to open it yet to make a direct comparison by placing it side-by-side. The wings, tail and legs can be moved to pose different position with the minifigure placed safely in the saddle near the flag. One of the fun playing action include the stud shooter placed within the dragon mouth. You can enjoy viewing more of the up close viewing angles from the front view, side view and back view. Soar away into the sky Great battle is ahead of us The Golden Dragon is coming for us Protecting the Lands of Ninjago To conclude, I enjoyed this set very much. The Golden Dragon design is compact and lovely for me to place above the Oriental Temple like above without falling apart. If is too big, it will probably not able to take the weigh at the rooftop. The minifigures are excellent and that's one of the main reason why I choose to get this set without hesitation. This set will probably attract fans who are into Ninjago and also at the same time miss the chance to own the Golden Dragon in your collection. I am glad the re-design is not exactly the same as the former but an attempt to take it better after 6 years apart. Overall, I think this is an outstanding and affordable playset to have a positive sampling flavour with LEGO Ninjago classic series. Summary review Playability: 9/10 (Positive playing experience which can be integrated with your existing LEGO Ninja and Ninjago collection.) Design: 8/10 (Excellent minifigures' design and decent looking dragon.) Price: 9/10 (I find the pricing very reasonable and affordable. No issue for me to get these good minifigures and a decent dragon.) Overall: 8.6/10 (Enjoyed it very much and I had a fun time playing with it. Definitely worth the pricing.) I gave it a "5" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. 8. Hello everyone, This is my fourth review from the LEGO SOLO: A Star Wars Story and I had finally seen the movie. It is a good movie which give me a glimpse of Corellia and other associating new planets but yet fail to live the expectations of other recent Star Wars movie like Rogue One. Well, I am not going to talk much about movie plot for this review. So be rest assured that there are minimum spoilers in this coverage. Previously, I had reviewed the 75209 Han Solo's Landspeeder, 75210 Moloch's Landspeeder and 75215 Cloud-Riders Swoop Bike. This review can only be made possible with LEGO CEE and Eurobricks Ambassador, Jim for facilitating this reviewing opportunity. Although this is a late review to the scene but I still hope you find this review useful. One important thing to note, I am entirely reviewing this with nil Millennium Falcon building experience. I had bought some older variants of Millennium Falcon but I haven't build them yet due to space constrain. Therefore, the experience which I intend to share is from a new builder which TLG seek to inspire a new generation through this iconic design. Furthermore, I am personally pleased to complete my current collection of LEGO SOLO sets with this last addition. Without further ado, let me share the reviewing journey for the legendary kessel run. Name: 75212 Kessel Run Millennium Falcon Theme: LEGO System / Licensed / Star Wars / SOLO: A Star Wars Story Year: 2018 Pieces: 1414 Minifigs: 5 minifigures plus 2 droids Price: USD $169.99, GBP 149.99, EURO 169.99, SGD $279.90 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink, Brick Insights An original box image of the 75212 Kessel Run Millennium Falcon Back view of the original box image of the 75212 Kessel Run Millennium Falcon Inspire a new generation of Star Wars fans This new redesigned Millennium Falcon which is featured in the SOLO: A Star Wars story movie is targeted to create interest with new Star Wars fans through this iconic Millennium Falcon. It was owned by Han Solo which he won from Lando Calrissian in a gamble. This will be explained in this movie. Then, we have Rey taking over the controls from Han Solo in end of Episode 7. Since the start of LEGO Star Wars in 1999, the 7190 Millennium Falcon was the very first minifigure scale play design. Then, it had an improved design and minifigures in 2004 with the 4504 Millennium Falcon. Subsequently in 2007 and 2017 with a decade apart, the largest UCS Millennium Falcon was released under 10179 and 75192. After 2004, TLG had released a version in 2011 under 7965 and in 2015 under 75105. This is indeed a long march since the dawn of LEGO Star Wars where this iconic design had been rehash numerous times. Then, as LEGO fans, are you pleased with this new redesign? Many of us felt the usage of white bricks somehow differ from the original grey parts. For me, I am starting to worry that the white bricks will undergo degrading of white to not-so-white in a few years time. Why the ship is coloured white could suggest a link with Lando. Considering this is the first Millennium Falcon which Lando had acquired at the beginning and modified to his style. It can't be help when Lando set his eyes on the crude freighter and saw its potential beyond just a working-class light freighter. We will move toward The overview of the building process The sealed box came with these building content. The instruction manual and sticker is kept in this manner. The entire built is divided into 10 significant milestones and it took me about 4.5 hours to finish building it. The pacing for entire building experience is excellent and it does not feel too tiring. After the set is built, these are the remaining spare parts. The content also included a sticker sheet. A closer look at the LEGO minifigures from the official box art The newly designed minifigures and droids from the Solo movie Firstly, let's go through the minifigures and droids section. From left, we have the DD-BD droid, Kessel Operations Droid, Quay Tolsite, Qi Ra, Han Solo, Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca. All of the minifigures and droids are unique, except Han Solo and Chewbacca who had reappeared in this SDCC 2018 exclusive of 75512 Millennium Falcon cockpit. These are the minifigures come with alternate facial expressions. I am also pleased these minifigures and droids also came with back printing as well. The main cast of the Millennium Falcon These are the main cast from the Millennium Falcon. Qi Ra minifigure had appeared 3 different designs so far and in this variant, her hairpiece is rubbery. She used to work for Lady Proxima before putting her sad life aside and joined the Crimson Dawn. She is now a capable strategist and advisor to Dryden Vos. Han Solo was a smuggler who became a leader in the Rebel Alliance to restore the Republic and a key leading figure in the defeat of the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War. Han Solo had appeared 41 different designs so far. Chewbacca was captured and was rescued by Han Solo. Ever since, there were best buddies till the end of time. Chewbacca had appeared 7 different designs so far. Before we knew Lando as the keeper of Cloud City, he was actually a smuggler and now aim to retire by becoming a full-time gambler through sabacc. Lando had appeared 7 different designs so far. Do note that his cape is pretty stylish with a navy blue and black borders. The other droids which are included in this set All of these droids are unique to this set and they are actually found in the Kessel Mine. The DD-BD droid was a captured slave to carry out mining operations. Quay Tolsite is a member of the Pyke Syndicate and is the caretaker of the Kessel Mine operations. His minifigure is the most well designed and accurate with the movie reference. The Kessel Operations Droid took care of the main controls and was directed by Quay Tolsite accordingly. You can take a closer look from the front view. The entire building content for Packet 9 The completed built for Packet 9 Packet 9 focused on almost completing the Millennium Falcon minus the auxiliary craft at the front. Just by viewing this close up front view, don't you think we are almost complete the building? The entire building content for Packet 10 The completed built of the Millennium Falcon The Millennium Falcon is measured at a height of 11cm high, 48cm length and 30cm wide. The Millennium Falcon is manufactured by the Corellian Engineering Corporation with a model of YT-1300. It has an atmospheric speed of 1200kph and equipped with dorsal and ventral single laser cannon turrets under their weapon arsenal. It just require a crew of two to properly fly the Falcon: pilot and co-pilot. The Cockpit can can seat two extra crew members at the communications and navigational stations which is not seen in the above LEGO model due to space restriction. In case anyone is wondering what exactly is kessel run? The Kessel Run is a legendary navigational route through the chaotic space that surrounds the Kessel planet. The local Si'Klaata Cluster and the Akkadese Maelstorm are shifting systems of dangerous stuff across hyperspace travels. In a nutshell, it is a bloody shortcut with hell of traps and pitfalls along the way just to save precious traveling time. This iconic spacecraft is equipped with state-of-the-art weapon cannons which can be found at the top and bottom of the ship. For increase playability, this model come with dual shooting missiles at the side. This is the rectenna which processes data to assess the Millennium Falcon and its surroundings. It uses passive electromagnetic gathering surfaces as well as active-bounce signals. These are the six dorsal heat vents at the rear of the ship. The igniter is where the fuel combustion output is taking place. This is the iconic cockpit which can also be removed from the front. Do note that the landing gear is non-retractable and it can also be seen here. You can view some of the close up exterior images of the Millennium Falcon from the front view, side view, rear view and bottom view. This Millennium Falcon variant is owned by Lando Calrissian where he had made it his home in space. The forward compartment houses a lounge for the ship crew which includes a drinks bar, holotable for playing dejarik and sound system or control panel. It even had a wide bunk for the crew to sleep comfortably. It has a boarding ramp which enable the crew to enter from inside or outside. A closer view at the top of the Millennium Falcon Opening the top flaps for the Millennium Falcon By opening up the top flaps of the Millennium Falcon exterior, you will be able to notice four distinct sections. namely nearing the cockpit, cargo hold, rest area and drinks counter. This Millennium Falcon variant also included an escape pod bay (configured for 2 pax) which can be launched at beneath the top laser cannon. There is also a stowed auxiliary craft which was never seen in the original Millennium Falcon design. It can be lifted up through this front mechanism. It can be easily slide out from the front and detach from the main spaceship. Let's jump into lightspeed Let's discuss our next course of action A closer look at the rear cargo hold Let's have some drinks first The very first original design of the Millennium Falcon What do you think of this version or variant of the Millennium Falcon? Flying off to a brand new adventure To conclude, this is a pretty decent Millennium Falcon building experience. I love the minifigures' assortment and I have no issues or rant about it. For the Millennium Falcon design, I find it strange to have that auxiliary craft at the front to make it complete and I am pretty sure Han Solo got rid of that feature to shave some weight. My only grip about this Millennium Falcon is the colour of white. I am not fond of having a white Millennium Falcon cutting with blue stripes, knowing the case that it won't go down well in time with the white bricks becoming yellowish. This is pretty tragic and yet unavoidable. Even I manage to hide it away from sunlight, it still manage to get the whole model turning into a piece of yellowish dull crap. I don't have a known solution for this Millennium Falcon and I can understand why they had to design white for the movie and of course to tell others that is not the regular Millennium Falcon which we are getting. Many of the interior features are largely similar with the predecessors. This ship is worthy for display and I am very glad to have it in my collection despite of the colouring. My advise to get it only if you are a great fan of SOLO movie or if you do not own any Millennium Falcon. If you are bend to get the minifigures, getting the Millennium Falcon doesn't warrant the hefty price tag unless you are a Millennium Falcon collector. You don't need so many and I am very pleased to have my third Millennium Falcon in my collection, right after 7965 and 75105. Owning these 2 sets are great enough meaning to show the past, present and future of the Millennium Falcon's evolution. Please note that all opinions and content shown in this Eurobricks pictorial review is from 'WhiteFang' and is not meant to represent LEGO official views. It is purely stated to share as a vantage point of a reviewer. Summary review Playability: 8/10 (Fun playing actions from the exterior and interior of the Millennium Falcon.) Design: 7/10 (Good design of the revamp Millennium Falcon but I am not a fan of white and blue Millennium Falcon.) Price: 7/10 (Price is on the high side and I only encourage you to get it if you are a huge fan of Millennium Falcon design or the movie itself.) Overall: 7.3/10 (I enjoyed the entire building experience and had good fun with it. Get it if you are new to Star Wars and this set is a good one to inspire the next generation) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? REVIEW: 75212 Kessel Run Millennium Falcon

Thanks guys for your feedback and thoughts. I will certainly take heed and see what I can do for future improvments. I didn’t realise white on white had created so much problems and I only noticed it much later.

    REVIEW: 75973 D.Va & Reinhardt

This is very apparent to me for at least the first time. So, I find the quality hard to believe especially coming from a licensed set. I had to be careful with the helmet when I handle the minifigure. That was the most disappointing experience.

    REVIEW: 75973 D.Va & Reinhardt

@Oky, I had just built this amazing set. I really enjoyed it. I will like to check with you if you have any problem with Reinhardt minifigure. It is because my helmet and the head are very loose. The helmet can drop off when I invert the minifigure. So, I like to check if you are also having this same problem as me?

REVIEW: 75212 Kessel Run Millennium Falcon

Thanks guys for your feedback and comments. The gaps were also there in 75105 if I remember correctly. Thanks for sharing. Didn’t know that the reinforcement is an improved design from the previous MF. Thanks Kristof for sharing your honest views. It is where such constructive critics could help the reviewer to improve for future reviews. I really do welcome such feedback and I know you don’t bear ill intentions. Noted there are a lot of reviews out in the Internet, as outlined by Brick Insights. However, there are nil review for this set on EB. Doing a review does not mean it has to be the latest. It could also be an EOL set. In this way, I do not think it is recommended to only review or share the latest releases as and where it is. Multiple reviews are always welcomed as it offer different perspectives. Agree the photography is not very ideal as the base colour of the model is white and my floodlights had created unnecessary harsh light/shadows only after the photos are being processed when uploaded onto computer. I will take note of it and improve on it further. Noted that the write up may not be coherent at times. I will pay more attention when I put my thoughts together. It may misrepresent wrongly and I apologies if is confusing for you.

  16. Hello everyone, Earlier ago, I had reviewed the new 80101 Chinese New Year's Eve Dinner and 80102 Dragon Dance with my recent local purchase in Singapore. It was also accompanied with in-store promotion where this exclusive set is given away with minimum purchase of SGD$88.00 and above in LEGO Certified Stores and in some other retail channels as well. I reckon this is not as widely available as the previously available of 40235 Year of the Dog. This exclusive giveaway normally happen in the first 2 months of Chinese New Year promotion and it started since 2015 with the 40148 Year of the Sheep. I am not exactly sure of the availability of this particular item, other than hearing the same reports where the Asia Pacific Exclusive for the Chinese New Year sets are resided. Without further ado, let me share my simple perspective of this cute little promotional set. Name: 40186 Year of the Pig Theme: LEGO System / Seasonal / Chinese New Year / Brick Built Animals Year: 2019 Pieces: 152 Minifigs: NA Price: NA Resources: Brickset, BrickLink, Brick Insights An original box image of the 40186 Year of the Pig Back view of the original box image of the 40186 Year of the Pig This is the LEGO Chinese New Year exclusive for 2019 This is the fifth release not counting the 10250 Year of the Snake release. We had seen previous ones for the years featuring Sheep, Monkey, Rooster and Dog. Pig will be the main highlight for the 12 Chinese Zodiacs in 2019. Collecting these promotional sets require incredible amount of patience as you needed at least 12 years to complete the entire cycle. Seeing TLG being committed to make this as a yearly tradition which is welcoming in the region such as China and Asia Pacific. There is also a limited edition "red packet" which is part of the Chinese New Year tradition. Giving red packets is a channel for sending good wishes and luck. The significance of red packets is the red paper, not the money inside. Wrapping money in red packets is hoped to bring more happiness and blessing to the receivers. However, don't you ever open in front of the giver which is an impolite action. I haven't opened the rest of my boxes yet and this will certainly be a nice sight to behold when the eventual 12 Chinese Zodiacs come together. My only grip is the availability of this set and we will probably never know how extensive these will be available now and the future ahead. The content of the sealed box The sealed box come with three un-numbered mint packs. The box contain an instruction manual. After completing the built, these are the remaining spare parts. Building content The completed built of the Pig The completed built of the Pig is lovely and cute. It is posable by able to turn its heads, ears, hands and legs to increase playability instead of having it static. The overall built is well articulated and you can just instantly identified the animal. You can separate the Pig from the garden base easily which you can use it to set in the City display or to include it as a funny icon in the MOC. You can enjoy viewing more of the other angles from the back view and side view. The pig ears are adjustable Nice to meet both of you Let's usher the Year of the Pig with a big bang To conclude, this is a great nice looking display set. I am a fan of Pigs and having this brick built animal in my collection is definitely great to have. The usage of mixel ball joint parts and the rotating disc helped to increased the playability. I am glad to be able to get this promotional set without much problem. Unfortunately, this set had been fully redeemed even though this in-store promotion should run till end of this month. I hope you can access to this set without having to pay an exorbitant price for it. Summary review Playability: 9/10 (Fun to play with especially turning around the head, hands, legs and ears.) Design: 9/10 (Great design and I think the pig is well portrayed in this brick built.) Price: 6/10 (No strong pricing indication, but due to its exclusivity which made me scored lower for its purchase with gift criteria.) Overall: 8/10 (Get this promotional set without break your piggy bank.) I gave it a "5" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr.
  17. At least from the box which I had received, I managed to get full set of 3. There are more disturbing reports that some of other sealed boxes are reported to have strange distribution numbers as well/. Likewise, I am also interested to know what are the ongoing distribution reports and this is definitely the first of its kind where distribution had widely skewed from the norm.

[REVIEW] 81000 Koi - Lego Forma

Nice review and interesting take on the new LEGO Forma. This is a brand new design realm and is unlike the traditional themes too. I haven't really decide on it and is pretty neutral towards its intended target market as well. I am not exactly sure who could be interested other than adults (which I am assuming), and your review had shed some useful thoughts which was previously unclear to me. Thanks for sharing.
