    Review: 10212 Imperial Shuttle

Oh, okay... thanks guys! I've never gotten a caped minifig before, so I was just looking for a loose piece. Thank goodness they didn't just drop it in there though!

    Review: 10212 Imperial Shuttle

So I got 10212 for Christmas, but I cannot seem to find Vader's cape anywhere. My instructions and stickers came in a separate, cardboard-backed bag, so I assumed it would be in there but it's not. I am not going to build it until I move into my new place in about 3 weeks, but I at least wanted to assemble the minifigs. I looked through the other bags but there was no sign of it that I could see. Then again... the lighting was not the best. But I figured I would ask here before I spend all that time looking again. Does anyone know where they stuck it?

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?

I got 10212 for Christmas! It is sitting in my room, and I am just dying to start building. However, I am moving in about 3 weeks, so I will have to wait until I settle into my new place... AGH!

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?

10212 was down to $182 this morning... I told "Santa" to make sure to buy it, since it would not go any lower. Sure enough, it jumped up to $190 just a few hours later. Still very good deal though... And even though my Christmas surprise has been confirmed and, therefore, ruined... I am SO excited! EDIT: I forgot to mention: the prices are from Amazon

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?

I am 90% sure that I am receiving 10212 as a Christmas gift this year, so I have been buying minifgs and parts to customize who goes into the shuttle when I eventually put it out on display. I won't be using the ones that come with the shuttle...

    Collecting Unopened Sets

Maybe this factors more Into the issue of buying a set just because it's SW LEGO vs buying a set you really want. I do not have a lot of SW LEGO because I don't really want a lot of it. I tell my family which ones I would like if they want to get me some for Christmas/birthday. My LEGO are display pieces, so I have absolutely no use for a battle pack or a tiny set that does not match my others. Maybe this will change one day, but as of right now I'm just too picky.

The Evolution of Star Wars Minifigs

I know many of you are not huge fans of the dress-block replacing the legs on some mini figs. This never really bothered me, but I would like to see more creative prints for them. One SW fig which I definitely think should have had the dress block instead of legs is the Royal Guard. They would have looked so much cooler witha robe print on one of those blocks than with the red cape and legs... If this figure is ever reissued, I hope they change this aspect...

    Favourite New mini-figure For 2012

I switched my vote to Leia... I have the 1999 portrait edition Leia doll in her ceremonial dress, so the minifigure would make a nice addition to my collection.

    10179 UCS Falcon Pricing

Does anyone who completed this set from scratch by buying pieces online know how much the whole model ended up costing? I don't plan on building it, but I would be curious to see how close the price is to the original amount it sold for...

The Evolution of Star Wars Minifigs

I wonder why they still don't include a silver leg for 3PO. TLG made dual-colored legs before. Even if just a print... Speaking of which, why aren't his legs printed? I would hope that 3PO is more iconic than a sand trooper...

    Tantive IV 10198 Interior Redesign

Hello everyone. So I am not sure if starting a new topic on redesigns is okay, but I could not find an all-encompassing page for them, so here goes. Nothing too special, but it was the first set alteration that I ever made and I'm pretty proud of it. I re-did the nose of the ship to make it look a lot cleaner (the original was much too blocky, in my opinion). I also added additional half-hexagon pieces to the sides of the cockpit to make it more horizontally symmetrical. But my favorite redesign was the interior of the ship. I wanted to give it dark floors and white walls just like in the movie. I also wanted better seats, so I moved apart the computer consoles and duplicated Leia's chair. I think the overall redesign is much more spacious and endearing to the original interior shots. There is also a central path leading to Leia's desk, so people can now actually get into the room! :P Please let me know what you think.

    Tantive IV 10198 Interior Redesign

I only had to order 54 extra pieces to mod the interior and cockpit the way I did, so it's not extensive. I might do a little more modding now that I am rebuilding the ship. I will post pics if anything else changes.

I'll definitely be revoting for Queen Amidala once she gets added.

    Tantive IV 10198 Interior Redesign

The camera may have added a bit more contrast, but not much. Unlike the lower half of the cockpit, the top half is made up of transparent pieces. The white just didn't print on as thickly as they probably imagined. It is noticeably darker for sure, but not enough to ruin my love of the model :P EDIT: I'm on my phone and didn't scroll all the way down, LoL. Didn't see the answer was already posted.

The Evolution of Star Wars Minifigs

Yeah, I have to agree that it would totally suck for people who like to build armies. But never having the desire to do so, I like the details :D

I don't like the new C3PO either, but I think the Sandtrooper looks good :D

The Evolution of Star Wars Minifigs

I think it's been pretty obvious that I am a huge supporter of the new minifigs. I am even a big fan of the new Leia face, which I know some people thought was unnecessary. But with that being said, I would like to point out that there is one minifig which I prefer the original version of, and that's Yoda. I think the original looked a lot closer to the movie version than the newer one. As of now, though... that's the only instance I have found in which I would take classic over redesigned.

    What are you reading?

The only sequel that I tried to read (there are dozens!) is the one officially endorsed by the Wells estate, "The Time Ships." It was written for the original books centennial and it is equally awful. All the simplistic charm of the original disappears.

The Evolution of Star Wars Minifigs

Does anyone else own the LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia? That's the book that ultimately convinced me of just how much better the flesh tone is. Seeing the yellow clash with the gray of the Imperial Uniform or with Leia's Cloud City outfit is awful. The flesh tone is better because it helps bring out the rest of the mini figures. As unfortunate as it is, bright yellow just doesn't match the toned down colors of the SW world.

The Evolution of Star Wars Minifigs

LoL... I'm aware of that... I just said I am disappointed that the non-licensed themes still use yellow. EDIT: I know what you mean, Captain Dan. The yellow is so iconic, even though it doesn't look as good. Nostalgia can be difficult to let go of. I guess part of the reason I feel this way is because I did not get into LEGO until I was an adult.

The Evolution of Star Wars Minifigs

I haven't been on these boards long enough to find out whether or not this statement makes me a minority, but I love the flesh-tone minifigs. I'm a bit disappointed that LEGO hasn't spread that aspect over to their other non-licensed themes.

    Favourite New mini-figure For 2012

I would vote for Queen Amidala, but since that's not an option, I'll go with the Stormtrooper with the new torso, as I have yet to own a Stormtrooper minifig (*gasp*)...

    What are you reading?

Definitely! The book has such Victorian charm, even amidst such an overused modern sci-fi concept. But my favorite part of the book is his future land. The part where he first arrives, during the thunderstorm, is my favorite! It feels SO alien, despite having no spaceships, advanced technology, or aliens for that matter. Sci-fi at its best.

So I see lots of people saying that their models are either minifigure scale or UCS scale. I know what the former means, but I was under the impressions that only TLG makes UCS models and that they vary in scale. I mean... look at the MF compared to the recent SSD. So what does "UCS Scale" actually mean?
