Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2 Discussion

I must admit, I hadn't been liking Season 2 very much, but Mandalore Plot may change that. I thought it was a good episode, even though it screwed up everything we know about Mandalorians. The lightsaber fight at the end was definately one of the better ones in the show. It's simple; George Lucas isn't the only contributer to Star Wars canon. Many authors, namebly Karen Traviss, have developed a rich culture, deep history, and an entire language for Mandalorians. Now, over the course of only 22 minutes, that has all gone into dispute.

    Mando battle pack in 2011?

I, for one, wouldn't mind seeing a Mandalorian battle pack, as then I could get the new helmats and jetpacks in different colors, and for a cheaper price.

That is actually a really good idea, if that were included with the set, it might convince me to buy it.

It's most likely the same as the kind from the ARC-170, as Lego is probably including it so that fans can have a third clone pilot that they can put in their ARC-170 to replace Kit Fisto.

I'm having mixed feelings about Greivous' Fighter. The front looks okay, but the cockpit looks way too big, and the new canopy is boxy and ugly. The new Greivous looks nice, but the Medical Droid seems bulkier than it should be. And what's up with that missile? It looks just plain wierd. Nadar Vebb is a nice touch, but I fear it will give Lego an excuse to increase the price.

When is a MOC a Star Wars MOC?

I think the best way to make a ship fit into Star Wars, it should try to mimic the general style and colors of each faction's ships. Most large Republic ships are triangular, and are usually colored grey and red, with occasional yellow accent, like the Venator Cruiser: Droid ships often have rounded edges, but the Bridge sticks out up into the air, and they are usually grey and dark blue, like this Providence Cruiser: Imperial ships and Rebel ships are both just grey, but Imperial ships follow a triangular pattern, like the Imperial I Destroyer: However, Rebels usually have more rugged, and older looking ships, like the Nebulon B: I hope that I've helped you get the general feel of how different ships are designed, and I wish you best of luck with your project.

    Extra Minifigures

This is probably a manufacturing error. From time to time, Lego may accidentally put extra parts in sets that wouldn't otherwise be there. I recall that EB member Exobuilder once found a horse in an Exo-Force set. EDIT: Whoops, I put "and" in instead of "an".

I wasn't arguing against the inclusion of Zev, I agree that he is the best pilot for the Snowspeeder in this case, I was arguing against including the snowspeeder. Although, you do make a point about it and Echo Base.

I may be the only one who thinks this, but I'm somewhat disapointed with how the Wampa Attack was executed. I'm not disapointed that Zev Senesca was included as the Snowspeeder Pilot, but rather with the fact that the Snowspeeder was included at all. It adds about $20 to the price, and it's inclusion doesn't a fit in with the "Wampa Attack" theme. I would have preferred that the Snowspeeder be put in a new set, along with a turret and marketed at a $24.99 price point, allowing the Wampa cave to be a different set, with a Taun-Taun, and to be marketed at the same $24.99 price point. Does anyone agree with me, or am I alone here?

Best Mechanics in a SW set

I would have to say that my favorite mechanism is the wing opening mechanism on the latest X-Wing. Sure, it's simple, but it does exactly what it's supposed to do, and does it relatively well. Another nominee would be the V-19 wing mechanism, but since its inclusion is probably what caused that set to be so unreasonably big, it wasn't my top pick.

You make a fair point, I was just putting an idea out there. I suppose we'll learn the truth in a month or two.

    Star Wars sets anyone?

A few weeks ago, I went to Toys R' Us. I was glad to see that they had most of the 2010 sets, but then I saw that their prices were inflated. The battle packs costed $16.99, the Freeco and Tri-fighter were $34.99, the TIE Defender was $59.99, and the ARC-170 was $74.99. Did anyone else experience this? Is it just a pre-Christmas price hike, or something permanent?

I was thinking about the Imperial Shuttle, and I got an idea - is it at all possible that there would be a Death Star style Landing pad, as opposed to an Endor one? I think it would make more sense, seeing as the one of the potential figures is an Imperial Officer.
