If i could choose, ALL sets would be flesh-colored. There isn't much a reason to have yellow faces anymore.

Welcome to my boat . I have so few Technic sets that I'm basically out of photographing material. Well, I can of course use the same model in different shots but I would rather shoot different models. -

Oh, but they do have to get EVERYONE'S approval . The only way not to is if they don't cite anywhere in words or images the other brand. For instance, the gorgeous Mercedes-Sauber C9, like this one: For Lego to make it in brick form they have to get a licensing agreement with Mercedes and Sauber. In this particular case, they would also have to get approval of Michelin, Wurth, Castrol, etc. If merchandise with a brand's name on it generates income, then the brand owner is entitled to a piece of that income. There are many ways of doing this, like the "package deal" that Ferrari probably did with all the brands that show on the 458 Italia, but everything that shows has to be squared out. -

I guess we can only hope for other cars from Ferrari or Porsche. Other brands will depend on whole new licenses. And XAxles cited Mclaren. Some pretty cool cars but the brand is too small, they usually produce cars in partnership with other manufacturers, like the MP4-29 that was made in conjunction with Mercedes. When you have a deal like that licensing gets WAY more complicated. -

Sorry, you can't compare a GTO to the F40 - the beast didn't even have door handles inside! It was basically a race car with the bare (and I mean bare) minimum add-ons to be considered street legal. The GTO was a regular car, with basically everything a luxury sports car of the time had, and it was designed from the street to the track, the opposite of how the F40 was conceived. But most importantly, it was sex on wheels both in looks and (for the era) performance. Yes, everyone and his cousin knows what a F40 is, but preciously few know what a GTO was. So if by iconic you're implying well known or famous, the F40 is definitively that. But as a special car, something ground-breaking, no. Ferrari cheated, it was in reality a race car, but was at the time without competition since basically what we know as "supercars" didn't exist.. But if you compare it to something of it's era, like a 959, with 4WD, AC, carpets (!!), electric windshields, etc, you'll see why I say Ferrari cheated. Like the GTO, very few know what a 959 was, but in my eyes it was much more supercar then the F40. Being a classic car enthusiast I'm really happy that Lego is giving us a pretty decent F40 for the price, even though I don't think much of the real thing. I'm specially excited about the possibilities that the F40 brings: other iconic cars at this level of detail × price. -

Though there are literally at least a hundred cars that could be considered to be an "iconic car", the problem is and always will be licensing. Therefor, it's far more likely that we'll see a GTO or a 911 then a GT40 or a DB5. But being honest, I would kill for a GTO, since in terms of real cars I think the F40 is just meh - a racing chassis with a huge engine covered up to be barely street legal. Ferrari has made some far more iconic cars. -

Though it's an impressive set, and an UCS, this is one set that really doesn't float my boat .

Sev, as I said before, I like simple quick & dirty shots like that. If I would be inclined to emit a negative opinion it definitively would be about getting that nice minifig (that i don't have) dirty The shot is well composed, great focus and the color distribution looks very good. The shot reminds me of an Umbaran episode on Clone Wars, though I'm not sure that would be the correct clone to use.

I also prefer this version - it looks it bit more proportional, even though I don't think you have added bricks to the torso. Because of the new colors, perhaps? -

Man, that is gorgeous! My (very ) small railroad is too crowded for new trains, but that thing looks so beautiful that I would build it as a display set, to be displayed in a glass/acrylic box. -
Looks terrific! If I may add some criticism, I would say that his legs are a tad short for the torso. IIRC I think the beast had longer legs, but despite that it looks awesome .
