    2015 LEGO Trains?

Thanks for the thoughts, i might just pick up the 7939 (yellow cargo train) since it comes with a nice selection of track (including two switch tracks), PFs, and some decent rolling stock and the crane. The 7938 red passenger train is abit too junior for my likings at the moment. If the HE becomes available again, I'm going to snap up two more.

    2015 LEGO Trains?

What are your thoughts on sets like 7938 and 7939 (and the new passenger and cargo "starter sets")? I did sell off 7938 and 7939 during my great Lego liquidation, but am now in a position to re-acquire these sealed sets from a local toy shop at MSRP before they get too valuable...as they are now discontinued sets.

    2015 LEGO Trains?

Several months ago I sold off about 95% of my Lego collection in order to free up some cash for a series of major life changes (new house, baby, vehicle, etc). Of all the Lego I sold off, I kept some of my train stuff. Specifically 1x EN, 1x Maersk, and 1x HE. For me, the Creator trains are my #1 Lego passion. I really wish they did a new one every 1-2 years (like the modular buildings) or at least offered car "expansion packs" again. I'm now kicking myself for selling off 3 of my 4 ENs. I should have at least kept the passenger cars. .....

    2015 LEGO Trains?

Hope so, but I still would like to pick up a second Horizon to make it double. I'm very surprised that it went on sale. I didn't even notice until now.

    2015 LEGO Trains?

Whoa wait, did anyone else notice that the Horizon Express is now sold out after a pre Christmas sale? I was plan on buying a second. Even the price on Amazon has sky rocketed

    REVIEW: 10210 Imperial Flagship

I'm surprised by how fast the prices went up on this set. I was planning to build it over the holidays, but considering selling it and buying the Cinema and upcoming Parisian Resturant with the funds. Decisions decisions.

Carribean Clipper vs the Imperial Flagship

This lack of a rear sail on the Clipper always bothered me, especially since it makes the ship look unbalanced. You could always add a triangle blue sail from another set I suppose. My vote goes from the Flagship, although I do have a built-once mint condition Clipper with box and instruction book in my collection.

    Canadian Eh?

Looking forward to what going to available at Target, but since I make is down to the US often I will probably just continue to source my collection from stateside. Nevertheless, I'm hopeful Target Canada will have a better selection than Zellers did.

I'm Leaving! I'm Coming Back! Do it all HERE.

I got back into lego hard a few years ago with the introduction of the modulars and luckily had almost every set (pieces, instuctions, boxes) from my childhood. The last few years have been crazy with trains, modulars, and some good city sets. I've loved lego my entire life but feel the need to "make a decision" on my future in the hobby. Not sure whether or not to call it a mid-life-Lego-crisis or not, but I have some big changes coming up in my life and feel like it would be a good time to shed my collection. In the next 12-months I'll be changing jobs, moving, starting a family, etc. Lego is just one of my many hobbies and I'm trying to consolodate and focus my efforts. Its not like I need the money from selling the sets, but just feel like it's a good time to let go. Just wondering if anyone else has gone through the same thoughts as they get older.....just wondering if I'm going to have some major regrets in the future if I decide to go ahead and sell everything off.

    10233 Horizon Express

It looks to be a very nice set, but I'm just not too excited over it right now. There's so much more out there that I'd rather buy instead (modular buildings). This set just reminds me too much of the current Red Passenger Train to jump on it.

New modular building? 10224 Town Hall

hmm, I really like it. Although, I suppose there will be many who dislike the fact that it might not match up well with some of the other modulars sizes and it may be over $150USD. Oddly enough, it kinda reminds me of the old town hall in the town I grew up in.
  13. I think alot of us had an unforgettable year with Lego. What moment(s) stood out and will be remembered by you for years to come? It can be a build, a purchase, a new theme, anything. As well, what do you have planned for 2012 and your lego hobby/addiction? For me, the following stands out: 1) Finally getting into Lego trains. I put it off for so long. Picked up the Red Passenger Train, Yellow Cargo Train, Emerald Night, multiple Maersk Trains, several train related sets and lots of track. Kinda went "off the tracks" 2) Finally got a city layout set up. For the longest time my Lego collection was not in one place and more of random small scenes rather than one consolidated collection. Now all my Lego in limited to just one room in the house. 3) Finally visited a Lego store and had an opportunity to do the Pick a Brick. Always wanted to do it, but Lego stores are several hours from where I currently live. For 2012, I'm going to focus on my layout and build up what I have, rather than going nuts on the 2012 sets. Probably just buy the Pet Shop and some smaller city sets. More track and PF for sure.
  14. I'm starting late into the Kingdoms theme because my significant other has shown an interest in them. We can finally enjoy Lego together. The only set that I cant find from the 2010 releases is the 7946 King's Castle. Amazon has them for $150++, sold out at TRU, S@H, Target, etc. However, they're still available on ebay for about $100 and $30ish shipping. So, I'm thinking that with the Joust just release, the 7946 Castle is for sure discontinued? It's now or never unless I want to pay big bucks down the road?

    MOC: 3677 Cargo Center

like when people have multiples of the same rolling stock. You'd be surprised how good of deals you can find on current set individual rolling stock cars. I got my Maersk cars for less than $20 each with shipping.

    3739 Blacksmith Shop

yea, and you can save a couple of cents per piece by going for the new grey and dark grey instead of the old. I have the parts to make it with the old greys, but I'm going to use the newer colours so it matches MMV and MVR. Some info here: http://www.classic-castle.com/sets/archives/siskind001.html "Blacksmith Shop was released on March 30th, 2000 by Daniel Siskind. This stone and timber frame building had a blacksmith shop on the lower floor. It had a forge with bellows, a weapons rack, and an anvil. The upper living quarters contained a bed, table, chairs, spinning wheel, chest, and a fireplace. A blacksmith, his wife, and various accessories are included. In 2001, LEGO negotiated a licensing agreement with Dan to make his set into 3739 Blacksmith Shop. It was their first set in the "My Own Creations" line in 2002. The product designers modified the interior furnishings but the exterior remained close to the original."

    Modular Sets

I'd like to see a nice old style post office and bank. Maybe something like the Pet Shop, have a 2-in-1 set. A coffee shop and library would also be nice.

    Kingdoms 2012?

Well, considering Lego Shop at Home has removed all the 2010 and 2011 Kingdoms sets from their site and stores are not restocking any of the sets, I'm pretty sure they're gone.

    Which set should I buy?

well, the Castle is discontinued and the Joust just came out so I'd say get the Castle while you still can and put the Joust off till this time next year since it will likely be around for 2+ years.
