[MOC] Gears of war - Grubhole

I love everything about this! GOW is one of my favorite games of all time and this made me smile. I really like the clean building techniqes but still managing that rough, warzone look and feel. Excellent work!

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Am I the only SW Lego fan that is completely un-exited about the $180 "8 bit Artoo"? I feel the same way about it. It's just a little too blah for me. Nothing spectacular. It seems more like a collectors piece for someone who is a die-hard SW fan but not a huge LEGO nerd like us.

Episode VI - Final Duel Diorama

Your camera seems to take a decent qaulity photo. You would be surprised what you can do even with a low quality camera.

slave one: made to be mixed

Very nice! I have neither of the sets but I think you did a great job combining the two.
  7. This seems to be a marketing strategy for TLG, take the failure of the assasin Droid pack for instance, you now ultimately have to buy more packs to grow your army. If its just one faction, there is a greater chance of the other being ruled out. Also, you have to take in for consideration, the fact that TLG's Target audience is boys aged 5-11. Not all of them can afford buying multiple packs, or even their parents wanting to buy multiples. It's easy to grab one small pack, than 2. Look at it this way, if you have single faction packs, a lower total number of them (both sides combined) would be sold than multi-faction packs. (Both sides combined)

Episode VI - Final Duel Diorama

You have already heard this a lot, but this build is absolutely stunning! I love every detail and all of the hard work you put into this. Looking at the photos of the back of the window really shows the amount of technicality and clever parts usage. I hate saying this but the only thing holding this back, (if at all...) Is the lighting. The size of this I'm sure makes that task more difficult. I know the scene itself is rather dark so that was done wonderfully. Maybe its the color of the light... I dunno.... I'm rambling on... The fact of the matter is this is one of those scenes that needs this quality of building and you did just that! Excellent job! Going back and looking at the photos, are you using the flash on your camera? That would explain the odd reflections, bright spots, and shadows. You should try using a background light source and turn off the flash feature. Play with a lamp a bit or even open up a window. (That's what I usually do.) The hard part being keeping that dark feel. That will boost the quality of this MOC to even more Epic proportions.

That would be awesome if it was. I prefer the minifig scale UCS sets.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Valid points all around. There are some really cool EU ships that would sell though. Obviously TLG wouldn't even open that can of worms unless they were backed by some sort of game that Lucas Arts is trying to sell. It would be nice if George Lucas was in the business to please his fans, but that's obviously not the case anymore.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Although some of these sets look rather tasty, I have had my eye fixed on that Sith fury-class interceptor. There are a few others that look rather nice as well. On the UCS B-wing topic, I actually think that would be pretty cool. The major vehicles are starting to get a little redundant in my opinion. I think what would be really interesting would be some more expanded universe stuff. With TLGs market strategy though, who knows if they would do that.

    Welcome To Endor

Your micro AT-AT's are so cool! The overall build is spectacular! I remember your Hoth scene and this is the icing on the cake! Can't wait to see what you come up with next.

LDD Azure Angel MOD of 8093

Very nice! My first MOC (actually mod) that brought me out of my dark ages was this ship! My only gripe is that the droid is actually integrated into the ship, not one that can go in and out. Nice work overall though. Love that snot wing in the back!

    Review: 9494 - Anakin's Jedi Interceptor

Nice review! I am still debating whether or not to get this set. I most likely will give in and buy it on impulse. Seems like they made some improvements over the last version/s but it still looks clunky and should have been built better. Take the new TIE fighter set for instance, it looks sleek. I will most likely pillage it for parts.

    REVIEW: 9492 TIE Fighter

Thanks for reviewing this set! With this new line of sets just releasing, I knew I had to get my hands on this one! There are some inaccuracies here and there but in all, I think they did a stellar (no pun inteded! )job with this one. Obviously the improvement with the solar panels is the highlight but the seat inside shocked me! Lol! I am kind of torn with the new windscreen piece. Although it is an improvement over the older-style piece, It has some drawbacks for me like the darker grey printing and the way it doesn't go to the edge. I guess if you recessed it into the cockpit a little more to hide that, then it wouldn't be so bad. I do like the freedom to add cannons as you see fit now. The piece that holds the outer border of the solar panels is such a smart choice. I remember looking at the pictures before this was released and wondering how the heck they connected them. Not too shabby TLG! In my own opinion, if you do not have this set already, you need to get it!

Massive MIDI Model Update: The Imperial Navy!

Very nice work! I really like the Interdictor class Star Destroyer. For it's scale, I can't think of any way better to build it.
