BrickLink Designer Program Ongoing Discussion Thread

I would be very surprised if any get approved through Ideas as that program specifically prohibits "series" of sets. IMO, he should have submitted the train first and then submitted a single building every 3rd BDP submission period.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I'm not sure they are claiming the building style (this would be counterproductive as ALL "legal" building styles could then be considered their IP) as IP but rather the Modular label as a trademark the same as Ninjago, Dreamzz, Friends and Monkie Kid. But they are limiting the building style as it copies their own in-house designs. At this point, though, it would probably be difficult to enforce the trademark as they have let it be used by others for so long; however, I do think that MOC designers should start labeling their instructions as "Modular-compatible'.

BrickLink Designer Program Ongoing Discussion Thread

For anyone who purchased the General Store and/or is planning to buy the Wild West Train in Series 4, the designer also has 3 related buildings on Ideas: Train Station Sheriff's Office Blacksmith The Blacksmith has achieved the 10k threshold and will be part of the Sept 2024 review period. I wonder if the General Store would have sold out if people knew about the other projects.
