On the hydra weapon it was not a fragment of the Tesseract, rather it was technology powered by energy from the Tesseract. In much the same way the Kursed are powered by energy from the Aether. I am a little annoyed that AoS seems to not be using the traditional time travel rules of Marvel, where every journey back in time creates a new universe instead of changing the past. I know not every time travel story in Marvel uses that rule, but it is my favorite type of time travel. It's just the weapon was known about by Camila, and it was found in the past, so unless she was lying about how she knew about it they are using a different sort of time travel.

No one is claiming Civil War was good. But it still is good to note the elements we have in play in the MCU, so we can predict what could potentially occur next.

Just a heads up for people who think they were spoiled by Agents of SHIELD, you should still see Winter Soldier. In my opinion it is the best MCU film yet, and I had also been spoiled before watching it. And even if you think you know all the twists from the episode, let's just say Coulson's team doesn't know everything yet...

It occurs to me I might have been too harsh. Wasp is just really important to me, the Wasp on Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes is the whole reason I like comics and superheroes in general. On topic,

Listen, we all know why Wasp has never had her own book despite being a founding Avenger, maybe The Founding Avenger, its the same reason for the "interesting" artwork of female characters in comics. It can't have anything to do with her originally coming from Hank's pool of characters, not when there are War Machine/Iron Patriot and Scarlet Spider books, to name a few. You can say she is an ensemble character till you are blue in the face, but up until 2008 Tony Stark was a minor character in Marvel. Now his is one of the most important MCU characters and has a ridiculously fan base. The movies do not have to reflect comic history, otherwise Pym would make Ultron, Wasp would be in Avengers, Killian would have been a pawn who committed suicide, the movie portrayal of the Mandarian would have been "different"...ect. So excuse me while I trust Marvel to do the right thing and finally give her recognition that has been due for well over fifty years.

Just saw Winter Soldier. Glad to see that I was close, though I didn't have the name. This may be my favorite MCU film so far, this or Avengers. I have to say Falcon was great, maybe favorite person in the MCU right now. I really hope Another thing is,

I don't know, it just feels rude to reduce characters to "there really is little functional difference between (them)" It feels like stripping them of personalities and adventures to be turned into simple elements of plot. That or it sounds like a claim that they are interchangeable and thus unimportant. I mean I don't know about Carpenter, but Anya has led multiple books, both as Arana and as Spider-Girl, along with tie-ins and a team book, not to mention cameos and guest appearances. Not to mention she is only ten years old as a property this year. She isn't A-List, but she seems to have a voice. But the reason I didn't reply to your suggestion that she could appear in Agents of SHIELD is that I kind of don't want her there. No offense to the show and especially its fans, but I do not think I trust her with the show's writers. They haven't so far adapted many characters well, and she is apparently a hard character for writers to get. I just don't have confidence in them. And while not every Marvel film is perfect, they tend to be better than AoS episodes, so I would want her there. But really that could be asking too much.

...Isn't Julia Carpenter the new Madam Webb or whatever? That seems like a big difference.

Anya's identities are Arana and Spider-Girl not woman, and Ultimate Jessica Drew's Identity is Spider-Woman not girl. Not sure about the others, but those two I really care about. But yeah, I just like to dream. I mean if I got to see Anya or Ultimate Jess on screen, that would be awesome. Ultimate Jess I could easily see adapted into a clone saga plot, and given that The Amazing Spider-Man series seems very science based she could fit in well. Anya is a little bit more iffy since her original powers were magic, but her second group of powers were engineered from the Spider Island plague. So she could work. But yeah, I realize now it is unlikely Sony could do her. I just don't think it is likely Marvel would do her, and with the fewer Superheroes Sony has access to I think she would have a better chance of appearing, if they had her. Though I guess since Marvel probably has Carol there is a chance.

In other news Kelly Sue has just made Anya Corazon my fifth favorite Superhero. I knew I would like her if I found a good story. Which again makes me want to know if Sony or Marvel has her rights, or both. Because if Sony is going to try an Avengers-esque franchise (which seems like what they are doing with Venom and Sinister Six movies) they are going to need more superheroes.

So in yet another google search I finally found spoilers. I have to say, this movie is going to have repercussions. If Ultron is indeed made by the government to protect the world, I can see why they would do it now, should the rumors be true. If anyone cares, the rumor I saw in two separate places was: By the way, to spoil something, the command is [ spoiler ][ /spoiler ], but with no spaces between the word and the brackets.

For the Hulkbuster, Ultron does have a history of hacking Tony's armors. It is possible Ultron is using the armor or SHIELD duplicates to quickly make an army.

Sorry, I really keep missing these updates. Good to see it isn't just me though. I am hopeful that the MCU will be more open to legacy characters like Bucky!Cap, that way we don't get trapped with the same characters forever. Not that I don't like the Avengers, but I don't want the status quo to be good. And since time is moving much faster in the MCU than the comics and their is no sliding timescale, I think we have a chance to "age" out of a potential status quo.

I am not awake enough to deal with the continuity mess that is her. Old or not, the fact remains that the movie X-Men are even worse at diversity than the comics. Which is sad for a team that is supposed to be a metaphor for discrimination. And not to go into it, Darwin was pretty much the only guy in that film who wasn't white, and he ended up dead. Which makes no sense, since his power is "not dying." Seriously, once he turned into a god to stop from dying. On the matter of plot, if you name your movie after a fairly famous X-Men storyline, people will go in expecting somethings. Among them, Kitty Pryde going back in time to save the future. Days of Future's Past is a story about the youngest X-Men saving the world where all the older X-Men failed. It's about growth. And the X-Men movies are not about growth. They are about one single character, and a few side characters. No one else is necessary to the plot. Yes, Wolverine was hardly in FC. But given how he was the main character in every other film, hijacked Jean and Scott's story in X3, has two films with his name directly in the title, I have little doubt he is stealing Kitty's story here too. And since Wolverine already gets enough publicity as is, I just end up feeling disgusted at worst and apathetic at best. Honestly, I just am burned out on all the X-Men movies. All but one were directly about a character who bores me, and the ones that don't bore me aren't used. i just... You know what, I'm going to focus elsewhere. Never good to focus on stressful stuff. My sister a few days ago claimed that Sebastion Stan has been signed for nine Marvel movies. (He plays Bucky in Cap 1) Any one else hear that? Because if that is true, then Marvel is planning way ahead.

Its things like that that made me apathetic to the fox Marvel movies. I just-they are all about Wolverine. The only movie not directly about Wolverine, First Class, still had him cameo and still was just about two old white guys. I- No, its not worth it. I just get really tired of the fox movies, like with what happened to Darwin, or their lack of use of Kitty Pryde.

Then I move my bet to Asgardian/Human hybrids. That has happened in the comics before, Agamemnon I believe was Loki's son. And he in turn sired a legion of children.

Seconded, I really need to see Agent Carter. I know they are supposed to be on the Blue-Ray disks as bonus features, but since I don't have that technology I can't confirm.

Honestly? It doesn't really affect the movies, though they mentioned that the Abomination is kept frozen in Alaska. The impression I get is that outside of the movies the shorts are the most important. All Hail the King revealed the fates of the still living criminals in the MCU, and Agent Carter revealed who the originial leader of SHIELD was. Likewise, the characters in the short Item 47 were originally going to be the cast for Agents of SHIELD, before that was changed.

I don't know, the episode didn't work for me. I think Sif is the movie equivalent of Anya Corazon to me. I am positive I would like her, and I am sure she would be one of my favorites, but every time I read/see her I don't feel it.

I was tempted by the idea they might be from Atlantis, but since Universal owns Namor last I checked I do not think they will go that route.
