Marvel Superheroes 2025 - Rumors & Discussion
poisonbricks replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I know this isn't super relevant, but I recently got that 4+ Hulk and Iron Man set because it was like £7 in an order of things I needed anyway It's REALLY cool, and as silly as it feels to say about something like it (that's so small and for four year olds) I think represents some design philosophy that the rest of the theme could think about adopting The Iron Man stuff is whatever, it's a pretty standard 4+ large pieces bike, but it does the job in so few parts and I think there's some value in that The Hulk part of the set is just great, though - it's so simple, but the 'smash' feature is so satisfying and well-executed that I think honestly anyone would have a lot of fun with it - but this is what I've been saying for so long! Sets should showcase their characters' powers! A Hulk set where Hulk smashes a building and it crumbles into a bunch of pieces is so obvious to me, but it's really great to actually see take shape I think if we got more basic concepts like this (a way for Spidey to actually swing, a way for flying characters to actually fly, that sorta thing) instead of static representations of those powers, these sets would instantly be more fun, which is better for everyone, I think Also, the Hulk figure is top-tier, I love him -

Flash in the cancelled set for his movie just used the MCU Cap cowl with printed wings, so I think maybe they'll just keep with that piece -

I actually do remember a designer addressing the BP bust They were being asked about the possibility of further NWH sets past the initial wave (long time ago haha) and they said that the BP bust was a set going back to Black Panther because, at the time, it was the highest grossing solo movie in the MCU. Since NWH was closing in on that title, it made sense (he said it was a 'maybe' but obviously at this point they were planning the Liberty battle and Sandman sets) I feel like 'a random superhero' doesn't quite capture the significance BP had -

The same dude is responsible for great hits like the ugly D2C Hulkbuster, Captain America's flamethrowing motorcycle, the Endgame Hulk helicopter, the flat head Hulkbuster, the first Marvel advent calendar, the weird Shang-Chi dragon... he has a FEW solid sets like Molten Man, but if you throw enough stuff at the wall, right 😂 -

The LEGO 2024 financial report is out, and their revenue grew 13% - you guys think they can afford leg printing for us now? 😭 -

To be fair, the lack of 'comic' stuff seems to mostly stem from the lack of mainstream Marvel cartoons - as cool as Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man and X-Men '97 are, they have a more limited reach of older shows, which is why I'd bet there's little to no representation in LEGO for them. If we think about the old 'comic' sets, they're mostly Avengers Assemble and Ultimate Spider-Man sets that just kinda happen to have a lot of comic elements because of how those shows are. I'd expect it to be basically the same as the MCU cowl, Flash really needs molded bolts on the side of his cowl, but in the (albeit cancelled) set for his movie, they were just printed onto the MCU Cap piece. -

Brick Tap reported back in January that 76306 is a cancelled Marvel set that would have included Thor and two Outriders. Given that Wakebricks is claiming that 76306 and 76305 are Superman movie sets, which we know are not happening (AND he has a history of faking Superman movie 'leaks' in particular) I don't believe for a second that he knows anything at all about 76305. I'm not sure I'd even go far as saying he's 50/50 on reliability - the things he's posted that have been true are all images that had been circulating anyway, and the rest of his posts are all this fake Superman stuff -

I agree that they're not THAT similar, but I'm not sure that the average consumer would see the difference - and I'm not sure (although I obviously don't have sales data on this) that hardcore fans can entirely carry the sales of even a big D2C. Doesn't help that Avengers Mansion hasn't really been prominent in much media in the recent past (not that Avengers Mountain has been outside the comics, but it's more different, and I think there's a chance that the MCU celestial island takes that role?) I would agree on the compound if LEGO weren't absolutely obsessed with the Endgame final battle haha -

I also think an Avengers Mansion would be unlikely just because it's ANOTHER superhero mansion. It's more recent and obscure, but if they were doing a big Avengers comic themed D2C, I'd sooner expect Avengers Mountain or something, it's just more interesting compared to the other options and doesn't overlap directly with another set concept. I don't really think new molds would be an obstacle though - Hawkeye, sure, but a lot of these characters don't need specialised elements at all, and the ones who do have existing ones that'd be fine with a new print/ recolour (Cap cowl, Invincible Iron Man helmet, Wanda's crown) Realistically though, I'd expect a large MCU compound 😭 -

Ordinarily, I'd spring to the defence of designers, because of course they just get told what to make! In this case, I'd say look at Junya Suzuki's Brickset 😭 -

I haven't seen anyone in this thread yet explain exactly how Sunspot was debunked - in case anyone's curious, it's a UV print by 'fishcustoms' on Instagram. He has a 2D drawn post with that same torso print, and while it's not visible anymore, he did post a story saying something to the effect of "when your custom is so good it fools a whole subreddit" -

I mean, that's only true if you like the MCU version of the suit or the character. The CMF figure is very detailed, yes, but I don't like that interpretation in any regard, so even a very simple comic version would be the superior figure to me, and I'm sure to others too. -

I think they probably mean a comic version of Moon Knight, and a version of Daredevil in a set less than 200 dollars haha For me personally, I only collect comic inspired minifigures - so Moon Knight would be a new character for me! -

I'm so unbelievably sick of the endless MCU slop sets - the MCU itself isn't even the problem necessarily, but there's only so many times they can make the Avengers Compound rubble, surely? Oscorp is the best sounding set of the wave, because as a comic adjacent set it might have licence to actually be creative. REALLY sucks that it looks like there just isn't a modular this year, though. Hoping 76317 is good too. -

My explanation is Lex got Superman with his Kryptonite blaster already so Superman needs the mech because he's depowered 😂 -

I honestly think the polybag is brilliant for kids - a main hero and villain and an environment for them to fight in for $5? -

Built the majority of the January wave (mechs, Venom car, Spider-Verse) The mechs and car are generic and uninteresting as I expected, but I adore the new figures and had £70 in Insiders points so it's fine. Ultron is awesome, Julia is awesome, Anti-Venom is awesome - this wave is kinda huge for comic fans. I knew I really liked the Spider-Verse set, but I'm surprised with just how much I like it. It's a lot of stickers, but they give the bodega so much life and it looks incredible. The NYPD car is really good too (and I cut the stickers to actually make it say NYPD, I get that it says PDNY in the films but I have no attachment to those and it bothered me) I'm definitely gonna stock up on squad cars for my city and convert the bodega itself to a modular building. This has been discussed to death, but the connection points really did strike me as strange - especially the roof, plating it off would've probably taken the same number of parts as the way it's tiled modular-style. I get that the technic pin holes are in sets all the time and never go anywhere, but the roof thing really sticks with me, and I really hope they expand on this mini New York. Again, I'm not a fan of the movies, so I'm not really sure what would make sense to do next, but off the top of my head, Prowler's apartment was relatively prominent? Getting a good figure of him and another floor for this building would be awesome. -

Built the Superman mech! It's... a mech. I like the figures, so it's whatever. Just hope that supporting this set actually leads to real DC sets -

I mean, that's a fine claim, but unless you've surveyed like 10k+ people, the Fandango poll just is more accurate -

Honestly, I wouldn't be so sure. It's not a huge sample size or anything, but Fandango surveyed more than 9000 people on their most anticipated 2025 movies, and BNW was #1 - with F4 at #5 and Superman at #9 - the franchise power of 'Captain America' really is enough to carry it in the eyes of the general audience, it seems. Plus, having a Hulk probably helps. -

I feel you on both counts haha - I finally realised a few days ago that I'm just kinda collecting MCU minfigures because I used to like the movies and collect MCU minifigures, so I decided to sell them off - SUCH a good feeling, now I just have the comic stuff that I actually love populating my city :) And yeah, as cool as Shalla is, I think most people would like to see Norrin first. She's a character you should only really do the Surfer thing with WAYYYY down the line. I get the F4 are in an alt universe and that the MCU 616's Surfer is probably Norrin, but I'd rather spend one more film with the definitive version (especially after that awful version in the old F4 2) than have a one-and-done alternate. Not at all misogynist, don't worry 😂 -

Not even that it was necessarily destroyed, but it definitely wasn't in production since 2019, they'd have to bring it back in *some* capacity that would be more expensive than just... not including it -

I think a strong point suggesting that this will be the case, besides the wealth of AoU figures in production, is them bringing back the Ultron neck piece - why would they do that JUST for a $15 mech? -

For what it's worth, and I know this is just another individual perspective, my young siblings absolutely love LEGO, it's basically all they ever want for birthdays and Christmas. If they have friends around, even with videogames as an option, LEGO is what they'll be playing with for the majority of the time.
