I've honestly never really liked bigfigs, but I'm a huge fan of the midfig idea - there's some excellent customs (painted as well as molded/printed) that use the format and imo it's brilliant. Even the Hulk isn't usually THAT big - bigfigs imo are insanely huge -

They could totally do a symbiote focused wave or even year, just use different symbiotes! There's SO many! If kids like Iron Man Venom or Spider Ham Venom, dinosaur Venom (which they have to, because LEGO keeps making this stuff) then surely they'd like Riot, Toxin, Scream... even if they don't know who they are, it's just like oh, here's some different colour Venoms hahaha -

Well, that's not great news. A Rescue figure to me would've added like $10 value at least, without her the only real draw is Iron Patriot, because I really can't see the Igor build being particularly competent. Killian might be cool, I'd love to have a figure that looks more like him, but if he's not got any cool Extremis details he might just end up looking like some random guy. Still holding onto hope that maybe Rescue is in the Endgame portals set and there was just a miscommunication haha Regardless, they better not change the armory cell design again, and they better include as many as they can possibly budget for. The last set was an abysmal value. -

He's relatively reliable, but not as much as the other more prominent leakers. I'd give it a big grain of salt. Personally hope he's right, with the exception of Pepper - MK42, War Machine MK1, Rescue, Killian might be enough to sell the set for me -

My point isn't that it's low for animation, it's that it's low considering the other things that get D2Cs based on them. For the last Marvel locations, you have: Daily Bugle - not specifically based on any one incarnation, but Spidey's the character who has the most successful solo movies in the MCU and two beloved film incarnations before that, not to mention basically constant TV shows that people continue to grow up with Sanctum Sanctorum - Dr Strange isn't as heavy a hitter, but the Sanctum features in Infinity War which is obviously a huge film, plus both of his solo movies being pretty successful recently Avengers Tower - Based on mostly Avengers Assemble and Endgame, one of which is the biggest movie in the MCU and the other was probably a majority of the audience's introduction to it Worth noting that all of these came out long after their respective movies, so they already absolutely knew how beloved these specific properties are. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the X-Men, but the Mansion really is a surprising move, being the first D2C location for Marvel to be in development simultaneously with the thing it's based on, being based on the X-Men, who LEGO historically haven't done much with... (and yeah, I know the licencing history, but going $10 mech - $80 jet - $330 modular is still a big jump for a relatively unproven IP in LEGO) ...AND who haven't had much mainstream success in recent memory (X-Men animated shows stopped long ago, the movies have kind of been on a downward trajectory since X2) - I think I'd have forgiven anyone for thinking that this was a 'never in a million years' type set at this time. Still, very glad to be wrong, that's all I meant. Just a pretty significantly smaller audience than the last few Marvel modulars, I'd guess. -

I personally hope that he just has the list of figures or something and hasn't seen the set, iirc last MCU Rescue was listed as 'Pepper Potts' too? -

Apologies if someone's said this already, but Unibricks claims to know all four figures from the new hall of armour set Iron Patriot MK1 Pepper Potts (he 'doesn't think' it's Rescue?) Aldrich Killian Iron Man MK 42 -

To be fair to the person saying that the X-Mansion was considered a risky move: 1. It's not like LEGO would have known it'd be successful in advance 2. It wasn't actually that successful in terms of viewership - it picked up 6.8% of total viewership for D+ originals... and Echo had 11.8%. It had exceptionally low viewership even exclusively among Marvel shows. Well-regarded by those who did watch it, absolutely. But massively popular? Not really. That being said, I guess for a set like this you appeal to TAS and comic fans, but I don't really think '97 could've sold the model itself if it was say, a brand new animated series with less 'classic' character designs. -

I honestly think just an NYC apartment building could make for a very fun D2C location - Peter's apartment, Nelson+Murdock, Alias Investigations, I'm sure there's a lot of ways to fill in the floors Plus, it'd be appealing to non-Marvel fans too -

This is one of my biggest problems with this theme, it feels like constant repetitions of the same characters in a very small space of time blocks us from getting many new ones. Like, instead of doing Endgame, Avengers Assemble, Age of Ultron, Civil War, all in one year, with different figs for the core Avengers for a lot of these sets, focus on one of the major crossover movies per year or two - doing Age of Ultron? Cool. Those designs are THE designs for the Iron Man, Cap, etc. MCU figures for a little while. Then work through the rest of the film's cast (Ultimate Ultron, Quicksilver, Wanda, Strucker, etc). After that's DONE, move on to a different film. If we only had one MCU version of each of the prominent Avengers in production at a time (at least for legacy films, if there's a brand new one or course make the new suit) I think that'd free up a lot of space in production for other more exciting prints to be made -

Edited to avoid being redundant, HadesKing beat me to posting the hall of armour rumour here haha Iron Patriot and Rescue are really exciting! I wonder if the fixed MK6 will be reused from the Marvel logo set too, that'd be cool. -

Honestly, if you get a little creative with the scenes, you end up with a killer figure lineup for Asgard Other people have already mentioned Cap and Hulk, which would leave only Hawkeye, Widow and Stark out of the original Avengers Loki obviously is a big deal by himself now too Rocket was with Thor during the Endgame time heist, so that could be an excuse to include him Plus, Thor's supporting cast is maybe the biggest untapped potential in the LEGO MCU sets in terms of brand new minfigures - just off the top of my head, we've never had: Odin, Heimdall, Sif, Volstagg, Fandral, Hogun, any of the Frost Giants or Dark Elves, Skurge, Frigga And then of course they can repeat characters, like Hela (who would be a big draw, imo), Korg/Meik, Valkyrie I think that a Malibu Mansion would be cool, but it's a wayyyy less memorable location (at least imo) and has less opportunity for a minifigure lineup besides just more Iron Man suits. Not as many other characters appear there as they do in Asgard, and even disregarding the explicit canon of who has actually been there, there aren't many Iron Man characters who aren't made yet in LEGO -

At least the Fox costumes are individualised in SOME way - the coloured piping changes for each member, and there are quirks of each suit that echo some of the classic designs (Storm's cape, Wolverine's stripes on his sides) - imo when the lighting is such that you can see the piping, they're actually really solid costumes The Morrison suits are just totally devoid of any individuality at all (besides Emma, who has her own thing going on for some reason) -

Yeahhh I saw this. Really not excited. Each character has worse individual looks, but I think the Morrison costumes might be the all time worst X-Men uniform. -

I think for Daredevil in particular, a Spider-Man 4 appearance is nearly guaranteed, it feels like the direction they're going is kinda Devil's Reign. If Midnight Sons happens, I bet it'll be PG13, it's basically just a spooky Avengers movie in concept. Maybe a Blade figure for that? -

I assume they meant a hypothetical larger mech build would be primarily Light Bluish Gray, not sure the minifig itself would be much of a concern - but who knows, with all the recolors in the big C3-PO set, maybe they're more open to more system bricks in pearl metallic colours? -

I'd argue that the Ninjago City sets are as much expansions to each other as the Icons Modulars are expansions to each other, but I can see the alternative viewpoint for sure. It'd be AWESOME if they did it in the style of Gringotts, but I feel like if they were gonna do that, it'd come in the set itself - I think maybe a huge Danger Room with the clamps at the top for the Mansion would make an awkward set by itself -
Figured it'd be a good time as any with all the X-Mansion hype to share this here! I'm super proud with how this model turned out, getting it right with mostly Dark Purple and Magenta was ROUGH haha

Really doubt we'd see a direct addition to the set, it being on a baseplate makes that difficult, and there's no precedent for expansions to modulars as far as I'm aware, but I think an independent Danger Room set, probably with a smaller Sentinel, could work great. TONS of potential for play features there. We do REALLY need some more villains soon. Silver Samurai could easily be a mech set, which LEGO loves, and he's more a Wolverine villain imo so another excuse to reuse him. A smaller Wolverine Vs Sabertooth set with like, a couple trees and a motorcycle kinda feels inevitable too, I'm surprised there hasn't been one already. -

We don't know for a fact why, but we can speculate. Last I looked into this, Marvel still owns the merchandising rights for any Spider-Man content, at least since 2011, but Marvel does pay Sony a percentage (that I'm not sure is consistent across all media, or public) for any merchandise directly relating to a Sony Spider-Man project. There's no particular reason why Marvel and LEGO couldn't have previously made Sony related sets, but I think it's likely that either the negotiations with Sony as a third party weren't deemed worth the effort, or that Marvel didn't want to reduce the profit that they'd make from generic comic-inspired Spider-Man. I'm not exactly sure how the MCU Spider-Man movies fit into this. I know Sony co-produce and finance them, but I also know Marvel Studios is a big hand in it, so I'm not certain how the merchandising rights work. Maybe Sony does get a cut, but releasing sets based on current movies is too financially appealing to pass up. -

I'm surprised at no Bastion in the Mansion. Would be such a simple figure, one of very few X-Men characters who really only needs a torso and face print. -

Yeah, it seems like in that 'game' wave, they defaulted to comic designs whenever I guess the game designs weren't available to them? Black Panther, Hawkeye and Captain Marvel from those sets are all pretty clearly comic based imo
