My favourite movie! And the only "Jurassic" one not to get any lego sets :/

I've always been a huge fan of moulds, but after some thought and falling in love with Avatar sets, well... Jurassic theme is no place for lego to start making a new Dino style. But I wouldn't mind a new, NON-LICENSED dinosaur theme with Avatar-style dinos. Imagine something like wild west with dinosaurs?

Alright, sooo now that I've seen the sets... I'm not sure what to think 😅 Box art is a bit of a mess. The idea was there, but... That ugly Rexy head on the left side? Uh. The three smaller sets visually have less bricks than I expected. Visitor center looks really good, I'm a big fan! Kinda disappointed by lack of new minifigures, and SO MAMY Ellies. Dilophosaurus is spot on (I personally prefer the bigger mould, but this one is more movie accurate). Raptors look good, tho sadly differ in colour from freezer raptor. And I think they're both the same, meh. Not sure about triceratops. It should be dark bluish gray. And I have mixed feelings about the almost-full-brown scheme. Rexy seems VERY similar to Dominion's Rexy but with some scars! I think that's good because tye colours do look close to the movie, tho maybe tan is not perfect. Anyway, it'll be a bit funny having two so similar rexes. Finally, brachiosaurus. In terms of size, it doesn't look small or thin on the image. And new moulds aren't bad! I do wonder how many studs. But light bluish gray colour? It's gonna seem odd next to 2020's indominus rex. I think the rex tail is reused and maybe it doesn't look bad. Dunno. And immovable legs. Hmm that's gonna make animating kinda challenging, uh. Not sure if I'll be buying all of them.

I'm really worried about that too. I guess I'll live with downsized height and length, but witdth has me concerned. Reminded me of this wonderful picture by Mark P. Witton:

So I made a size comparision of existing dinos with brachi, and I'm a bit disappointed. The red one are the rumoured dimensions, while green is minifig scale. I hope the size turns out at least slightly larger. Maybe the link works: https://imgur.com/a/bL1NBoT Wanted to upload here, but can only attach up to 0.05MB size images XD. Also it's supposedly "the biggest LEGO dinosaur ever", but it doesn't seem to beat the mutant T.rex.

I'm pretty sure they'll be very similar, but have differences. Maybe nougat+dark brown, like the kitchen raptor from JP 2018. That would give us all of Jurassic Park's raptors. In terms of Rexy I hope she has hip printing. To my knowledge, no T. rex ever had that since Dino 2012. And I find that disappointing

I was thinking it could be used as the second part of the tail, if they made it a two-parter. But if the given measurements are accurate, then a tail reuse seems very likely

Haha, amazing to finally hear some descriptions! Assuming they're accurate, enjoy my long essay. InGenEral (heh) it's great that they're all JP sets like predicted. I feel that lego needed some proper original movie sets. In terms of minifigures, I'm both satisfied and a bit disappointed. Alan, Ellie, Ian and kids had to make a return obviously and ok. Two Alans sounds fine, but three Ellies seems like too much. Having not gotten the gate, It's great to see Hammond, Nedry and even Arnold! Didn't expect him in the sets. I didn't expect young Dr Wu either, so that's nice! I still expect Muldoon in raptor set, hopefully with Jophery Brown. At the same time, the lack of Ed Regis is a bit disappointing. No Genarro is really surprising. And I ESPECIALLY wanted Gerry Harding. I guess until we get some images I'm still gonna hope for their inclusion. In the raptor set "a winch to lower the food" made me wish that the set comes with a cow. But I don't think that's happening. Also there's no mention of a cage so the set could be a bit lacking. But is should have seen that coming, as its just a 4+ (A little insulting for Muldoon to be included there XD) I hope the Ford in trike set isn't too different from 18+ set, because I want them to fit together. But I'm worried it's gonna be the explorer 05 again. We need 04 because they only gave us half in trex set. But I'm happy that we do get a one big pile of... Bricks. Wasn't sure if lego felt comfortable putting that in a set. Dilophosaurus seems like what expected and that's great! Together with brachi set, we'll be getting jeeps 12 and I'm guessing 29 (or instead maybe 18?). I'm wondering if I'll be able to somehow edit those numbers in post production when making stop motions with the sets. Looks like the visitor center will have no exterior wall, just the interior playset. And the dimensions seem small. I'll have to see it to know what to think about it. Finally, this sounds like confirmation that brachiosaurus IS moulded, yayy! Interested to see the whole tree build. It does sadly seem that brachi is quite downsized tho. But compared to a T. Rex 27cm long and 24 cm tall, while not accurate, seems like enough to convey the size difference. But 6cm wide??? That is super skinny! To me, already giga seems one stud too thin. Unless the given measurement is just the body width, without the legs attached, but that's doubtful. Again, I'll have to see it before making a judgement, but this is super exciting stuff!

Are you sure? In my experience minifig scale is about 1:43. Brachiosaurus being ~20m tall, equals a 46,5 cm (18,3 inches) tall figure. I think the game massively exaggerates the brachi. It's kaiju sized like the lovely mosa in JW films

    Jurassic Park/World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I'm still hoping for a moulded brachiosaurus, but 512 pieces has me worried. I think LEGO knows how much fans want a humongous sauropod mold? Just imagine the 4x4 (4x6?) studs on the back. They ARE capable of producing such big moulds. Just look at the 2005 Dino Attack mutant Rex. Interestingly, despite having a GIANT dino and mutant ptera, that set comes with 605 pcs. And every wave so far (except for 2021 due to unexpected Dominion postponement) has given us at least 2 new molds. (Dino-5; JW-2; JW:FK-4; Legend of Nublar-2; 2020-4; Dominion-6). This year, the only new possible mold is brachi. It would make sense, that they produce one BIG figure instead of a couple smaller ones. Besides, the only new JP molds they could do are para and brachi, seeing as we have every other species from JP. And I'm quite certain para isn't happening this year. On a side note, I'm pretty sure we'll be getting both a raptor ("the Big One") and T.rex in the largest set. I REALLY want a Gerry Harding minifig. He played such a big role in JP: The Game. Ed Regis would be nice too with the lovely pink shirt. An idea. Something like a Star Wars battle pack would be amazing. A tiny set - Gallimimus, JP worker (pinkshirt) and a bush would be just ideal to make a flock.
