    Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Happy release day for those who celebrate. I'm just going to get Hagrid's Hut and the Owlery today (although that new Flying Car is tempting with the new colours and ability to seat 2 figs).

Can you please take this conversation elsewhere as I (and many others, I'm sure) don't want this thread closing so close to leak season of the summer sets. Thanks!

    Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I hope everyone has a happy and healthy New Year, and can cross off some more things from their wanted lists from this theme! It's always so exciting to speculate about, and then get to know about, the years new sets - so what a great day to get set numbers and prices! My answers to krimimimi's list are: my favourite three sets fof 2023 were Gringotts (which I have still yet to build!), Hogwarts Express & Hogsmeade Station and The Black Lake; and I was very happy to see them finally give us Gringotts and some DH sets and a return to minifig-scale Advent Calendar builds!

I didn't notice about the arms until someone else pointed it out, either. I agree, there is something about these sets (and Hagrid's Hut) that both look very nice and detailed to look at but also seem like fun playsets - the best of both worlds! It will be great to see the Great Hall, definitely, and I'm also hoping for a proper Gryffindor Common Room finally. And some classrooms! Another thing that I've just thought of is how nice it would be to get a proper greenhouse, now that it seems each location is getting its own set. There is so much potential, I'm excited!

Was it me imagining things, or does Neville have a new alternative smile facial expression in the Boathouse? Also, why is Dean re-using Lee's face?

    Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Hello everyone! I'm very happy with next year's first wave, and I'm so excited to see what the summer holds in store for us. The prospect of "the most detailed brick-built Hogwarts castle ever" sounds quite promising, especially if these first two sets are anything to go by. I'm so very happy with the new Hagrid's Hut: I love the build, Hagrid's new outfit, the trio, all of the little details and, of course, the new animals - although I do find Fang's colour an odd choice. I think the Owlery is beautiful, and I love all of the owls, Harry and Cho's winter outfits, and the Eeylops box (which reminds me of the HP/Lego HP video games). The boathouse is lovely, too, and I was so happy to see McGonagall get arm printing! I find the Forbidden Forest set rather odd, especially in its colour choice. The Hedwig set is a nice, cheap display one. I saw someone mention the new car can now fit 2 MiniFigs side by side - has there been confirmation of this? I'd be happy if it's true! I hope I'll be able to collect all the portraits!

There are lots of great ideas and thoughts in this thread. We're all just passionate about this theme. As a way to give us something to occupy ourselves with in this thread, and to give us something constructive and positive to do, what do people hope to see in the summer wave next year? What sets and characters are we all hoping for?

Discourse around this theme has turned extremely toxic recently. I'm just going to keep enjoying what Lego puts out and hope they continue to put it out.

McGonagall was the first teacher to greet the students when they arrive to Hogwarts in the movie so it makes sense for her to be here - they probably didn't want to include another Hagrid as he came twice this year and will come at least once next year, and I'm sure he costs more than a normal fig to include. So I imagine the set will be set up with the students in the boats and McGonagall waiting for them on land - they might even include the steps from the movie that lead up to the great hall. I've seen a lot of negative responses about this new wave but I must say I adore it! It sounds wonderful to me.

But Draco would make sense as he's in the scene (in the movie, not the book) where the trio sees Norbert in Hagrid's Hut. He's sneaking a peak through the window. :) Wow, it's crazy that here will be a third brick-built Hedwig so soon! There is a birthday card of Hedwig sitting on Privet Drive's sign (despite it just being a random owl in the movie) so I can sort of picture it. It will be great to get a variant of the uniform with just the white shirt and tie for Ron in the Care of Magical Creatures class. In that scene, Hermione's time-turner is quite visible so I'd love to see a print for that, too. I wonder what other animals we could see? A purple Pygmy Puff? The return of the niffler? I quite like Cho's winter outfit in the owlery scene. It would be fun to get Yule Ball Filch as he doesn't actually appear in that scene. I can't see them putting Snape in the Boat House. Could it be a PS set? I would love to get Hagrid without his coat, but I think that might require a new mould, and it appears we're already getting two in that set. Thank you! My set came today and I'm tempted to built it. But know I shouldn't hehe. I did built the GWP that arrived yesterday and gave me a nice little taster of Gringotts (finally). :)

If this is true, then the Owlery, Boathouse, Forbidden Forest and Hagrid's Hut sound amazing and what I'd have loved to see in the summer wave. So is Privet Drive not the house but a third buildable Hedwig sitting on the sign? Interesting. Are sound bricks new? Have Lego ever done them before?

I can't wait to start building. I have to wait until October once my PhD is handed-in, but I know I'm in for a treat. I waited three year for this. I'm glad to hear it's a great experience.

Aw, well I'm glad you managed to get your order in and get the GWP.

    Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I just had a look at last year's and they named 6 themes and HP was the sixth, whereas this year they only mentioned five themes (the same five from last year). I know nothing about this sort of thing, and I understand how it can look worrying, but I wouldn't worry about it. I think it's established that HP is a good seller. And remember there's a new HP Lego video game coming soon and 2024 set codes are already leaking so I'm sure the theme is fine. :)

This video is really cool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7M4Y9PSnTQ&ab_channel=HarryPotter It won't embed but it's a Lego Gringotts video on the official HP YouTube channel.
