[WIP] Another small island is added

Another island has been added to the layout. I'm yet to build the top part but since it will be a while before I can finish it I thought to share it now. It will be slightly taller and on top will be a wooden tower construction that connects bridges to the lower parts of the big arch in the background. It was a bit of an accident that the campfire got so near to the wall but I see that it has a great effect with reflection of the fire on the wall 🔥 The fish net was meant for the tribe people to dry fishes but I'm really not too sure of the function. Just wanted something there on the side of the stairs.

Anybody from Hong Kong? Need recommendation

Hi fellow Lego builders. Since I'm going to Hong Kong next week for holiday I wanted to ask if anybody familiar with the country could point me in the right direction: I need some regular micro lightbulbs 3mm diameter (NOT LED) because they fit into a lego brick and I'm using a lot of those for my current display. Since the regular oldschool light bulbs has been banned to import commercially to EU they are not sold here any longer and I'm looking for great quantity (600-800 bulbs) Is there a electronic store around the city that would sell those? Thank you very much in advance!

I tried but all I could find was with a minimum purchase amount of several thousands bulbs. Perhaps I should try harder :) You are right, the LED would be perfect. it's just that I already started using the other types of bulbs in my build. And to avoid several power supply and supply chains I prefer to stick to the same type. As well as the LEDs I found was without cable so I would have to atttach cables and resistors to all of them. Just seemed like a lot of work. But perhaps it is really the way to go after all :)

[WIP] Another small island is added

Thanks! The plan is another tall mountain that connects to the rock arch with hanging bridges. And then just a gigantic ocean with some big ships in it. (Black Pearl lifted out of the sea by the Kraken) And in the other end of the layout a big white fortress for the red coats The size will be 6x8 baseplates (48x48) so my biggest layout so far
  5. So early 2020 I started building this monster and it took 16 month of working pretty much 8 hours a day on it. Approximately 150.000 bricks used. its 3x4 baseplates (48x48) and tallest tower is a bit more than 1,5meter The idea was to make a pirate island with a fortress. But the fortress really grew out of hand. And the style also got a bit mixed up with castle and medival. It was my first real attempt to make a castle and I suddenly learned a lot along the way. The tall tower is based on the structure of the black smith set but I build it very tall. Any questions about specific parts or tecniques be free to ask! The caves, which is my favorite part is held up by those old 20x10 bricks. That way they can have a great span and still carry a mountain on top Some of the pictures are taken in a bit disturbing format but hope you will enjoy anyway, here goes:

    [WIP] Giant arch

So I have been working on this huge rock arch for a couple of months now. The two bases are 51 bricks high and build up with a mix of normal stacking and SNOT-technique. The bridge part is removable for transport and made of technic Lego supported by brackets on the sides and held together with plates. It's really super strong. And the best part is I got four sides to work on as the bridge has studs on all four sides. Making it possible to create the arch shape. On top is a jungle path, as there will be acces from hanging bridges leading to other similar mountains later on. Path is 144 studs long, 3 baseplates (48x48) and height is 70 bricks. I will be sure to post some updates later on. It's all part of a much larger pirate layout with water and islands.

    [WIP] Giant arch

Thanks! the plan is 6x8 baseplates (48x48) with majority ocean. (I filled 38 cups of the trans light blue tiles in the pab wall ) One end of the layout has the arch and a couple of more tall rocky islands, connected with wooden bridges. And the other end will have a a huge white fortress with a nearby pier and hopefully a town. Although houses was never my strong force. Apart from that will be somewhere between 4-8 large ships. Some in the port some sailing around Following the planning of layout from above there will be a bit smaller ship sailing through underneath the arch. Im thinking about the small boat from the 3-in-1 creator pirate ship that comes with the skull island build. That ship extended in length and the sails from the Ninjago cannibals as Im already using their shields with same logo

    [WIP] Giant arch

Thanks! It's quite fun seeing it moving forward. Now pretty much just need to finish the sides and the arch is done. Im waiting for a bricklink order and I will cover all studs on the sides. In the meantime Sonic had a run at it.

[MOC] Pirate Fortress (warning: many pictures)

Haha yes sorry, but when you started bringing badges on the table I thought I better give it everything I have Thanks! Thanks! The Bay area was built in the beginning of the project. Lots of things I would have done differently now. But it still got it's Charm And a 15 minutes long video where I go through the details, while it was still being built https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Fc8mMx8n7TE&feature=youtu.be

[MOC] Pirate Fortress (warning: many pictures)

That would great and a big honour! Just let me know 🏴‍☠️ Thanks, much appreciated! Thanks! I had two goals: big and detailed. And just let it free flow from there ☠️ Thanks! I had the treehouse set and lots of leftover brown plates. So I collected some of the bricks used on the inside of the trunk. Then essentially build two treehouse sets on top of each other. Got pirate style interior in the huts too 🖤

I'm in university and it all went online doing pandemic. Might have prioritized building a bit too much though lol. So I was just listening over zoom while building for all this time. plus whatever time I could spare.

    [WIP] Giant arch

I will make sure to bring the updates for sure! Suddenly nice to read peoples comments on here! Really great with a community that can appreciate the fun of building Lego There will be a Kraken in the water. And it will lift out the Black Pearl with the tentecles. So I'm gonna build a new Black Pearl with a rounded hull that would normally be below the waterline, but because it's liftet out I will get the below part visible too. So that should really be something

    [MOC] HMS Imperial

I build this ship over the course of four month but with some long breaks in between builidng as I build some islands instead. So an estimated 80 hours. The hull pieces were dirt cheap and comes from the friends dolphins cruise set. It's all Lego except the sails are custom as the sails from Lego were too small for the size of the ship. They have the shape of the Black Pearl sails but are 40% and 60% bigger. In fact the ship desgin is basically a white version of a Black Pearl MOC I made and that also explain how I could design and build it relatively fast. I hope you like it! Cheers

    [WIP] Giant arch

Thanks! I did not yet open the big bags in the storage yet as I bought 5000 of each of the different types of slopes 🙈 But yes it's very part consuming also for plates and regular bricks in dark bluish gray. And then comes the fillers that I buy secondhand by weight 😋

    [WIP] Giant arch

Thanks a lot! Thanks! Really trying to get the details right. Much appreciated! 🏴‍☠️ Thanks! I thought about doing something like that. However this is not the only arch in the display. Might just do the Pirate hanging near the Imperial fortress when I get there ☠️ It should be ready for Skærbæk fanweekend in september in Denmark. Here's the rest. In the upper left corner of the picture is where the big arch starts.

    my name is captainlegobrick

Hi I'm Peter from Denmark. My dark age ended some four years ago and since then my collection of bricks has grown substantially. Usually I build huge layouts with as many details as possible. Mostly pirateships and landscapes Will try to share some pictures in the pirate section

    [MOC] The Black Pearl

Last fall I build this ship in three weeks, building 8 hours a day. Many times I had to take the bricks apart and try again to really make it fit, so it was designed while building it. I'd like to think it is pretty much minifig scale. I looked at as many pictures as I could find of the original ship from the movie and I believe I got the sails right at least. However the third mast should have been further back. I only realized that when it was well to late to fix it. But I'm still happy with the result.

    [MOC] HMS Imperial

Thanks! I really tried to greeble thos gold elements to the max! Unfortunatelly there is no interiors what so ever. Got a bit lazy about it as it's mainly build for expo. So the only thing to be found in the captains cabin is a battery box. Howver there are 74 canons below deck that can move back and forward and stik out of the canons holes.

    [MOC] HMS Imperial

Thanks a lot for the kind words! As you have noticed the masts are made of dark brown barrels. There's a couple of technic axles going through: first one is a 32L that goes through the deck and is securely fasten below deck. As the barrels only have an axle hole that is one plate thick, I used 3 round plates 2x2 on top of each other where the two axles meet. So axles all the way through and then I tightened the strings quite hard to make it steady 💪

    [MOC] The Black Pearl

Thanks for the nice comments! I think it's around 8000 pieces. lots of small plates etc. Got a few pictures of interior. There're some 60 canons below deck that can move back and forward. Unfortunately I don't have a clear shot of those. I got to admit I did not put that much work into Captains cabin, although it can be easily accesed from as the deck of the stern can be removed. Also, there's a battery box in a hidden compartment accesable in the back of the ship. Lighting up the lanterns in front and back as well as 4-5 lamps below deck. Thank you very much! I'm happy you like the build! thanks!

    [MOC] The Black Pearl

The story is this: I made a huge layout over the course of two year. (will make a seperate post with lots of pictures) That build was shared all over instagram last year and this guy somehow saw it and wanted to buy it. I'd rather not reveal the pricetag for that one though but I was definitely happy. So while procesing the shipment I build the black pearl and he decided to add it to the purchase as he already started following my instagram and saw it there

All I could find of interest is this. I for one recognize the aztec layout as they where in a beyond the brick interview once
