If you look at the nose on this Ideas project, the tire that was used looks about 5-wide, so perhaps you can borrow that part of the design:
-
I'd say start looking at some official bi-plane designs such as 7307, 75901 or 60103, and then maybe look at some bi-plane MOCs others have done, like these. Hope that helps.

Agreed! The pacing had some issues and the show seems to be a bit more concerned with comedy and the family drama than the adventure (the fact that they skipped over an entire action sequence just for comedic effect was a bit jarring and disappointing), but it's definitely a very enjoyable new version of this classic. The fact that they name-dropped Cape Suzette, Spoonerville, and St. Canard within the first 3 mins alone made me happy. It gives me hope that Darkwing will indeed have a cameo at some point. The new personalities of the characters are great as they all have their flaws and strengths. I especially like that they made Donald the everyduck who just tries to provide for his nephews and doesn't like Scrooge just like in the comics. And that cliffhanger at the end was certainly intriguing!

I guess it's not outside the realm of possibility, but that probably wont happen anytime soon as their partnership with Lego seems to be going fairly well at the moment, especially with Star Wars. I'd hope that they are smart enough to realize that even Disney can't really compete with Lego, so it's better for everyone if they keep it the way it is. And even if they do produce their own building toy, it doesn't mean their partnership with Lego has to end. For example, they produce their own Mickey-shaped vinyl figures while still letting Funko make figs based on their characters at the same time.

It's hard to say, but it seems like unless it's a franchise that has proven to be a cash cow like Toy Story, Cars, POTC, and the Disney Princesses, TLG isn't interested in producing any sets for them, so I wouldn't hold my breath for Wreck-it-Ralph 2. Toy Story 4 is a possibility since we've had TS sets before, and with the inclusion of Syndrome and Mr. Incredible in the CMFs, I hope that's a hint that we'll get Incredibles 2 sets as well, although it's less likely. And as long as Disney keeps making POTC sequels, I'm sure we'll keep getting sets based on them.

I posted my Marvel display a few pages ago and here is my DC Super Heroes display which is right below the Marvel shelves. Because that's where Batman likes to be, down in the basement, with the lights out, in the darkness. DC Superheroes Display by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr On the top shelf, the Justice League is fighting the Legion of Doom in front of Jokerland and Arkham Asylum. On the left, Superman and Superboy are taking on Darkseid while Martian Manhunter and Hawkman are rushing to Plastic Man's rescue in the back and Vixen and Red Hood are helping Flash fight Captain Cold. DC Superheroes Display by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr On the right, Wonder Woman is fighting Lex Luthor, Blue Beetle is fighting Katana, Aquaman is fighting Black Manta, the Teen Titans are fighting Slade, Gorilla Grodd, and Captain Boomerang, and Supergirl is fighting Brainiac, Zod and Ares with the help of Green Arrow and the Green Lanterns. Meanwhile, some inmates are escaping from Arkham, Poison Ivy is holding Lightning Lad captive, and Catwoman and Catman are causing trouble for Commissioner Gordon and the Mayor. DC Superheroes Display by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr Underneath the streets of Gotham, a slew of Batman's rogues have infiltrated the Batcave and are attacking the Dark Knight and his friends. Bane, TwoFace and his goons are trashing the Batmobile and Batcycle while Nightwing and Batgirl are fighting Killer Croc, Talia and Ra's Al Ghul. Robin wants to help, but Clayface has put him into a sticky situation. DC Superheroes Display by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr On the right, Batman is fighting some C-list villains while Mr. Freeze has Alfred trapped in ice, Penguin is entering through the lake, and Riddler is surveying the battle from a safe distance. Batman's arsenal of useful and not-so-useful Batsuits can be seen in the back. DC Superheroes Display by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr I hope you like it. I can't wait to add all the 2018 heroes and villains to the display!

Thanks, that helped! It still takes longer than builds without translucent colors, but better than before. -
Thanks everyone! Maybe you're right. I was trying to keep it flat since Brickheadz usually don't have a nose at all, but it did end up looking too flat, especially when compared to Bebop and Rocksteady. I have been having trouble rendering builds that include transparent pieces. The problem is that the renders take super long! I'm talking multiple hours up to multiple days, depending on how many translucent pieces are included. I have a pretty good PC, so the problem isn't the hardware. I use the default settings and only turn off the background and ground plane and use a single-color sky sphere. When I lower the quality to below medium it gets a bit better, but still takes long. Is there any way to optimize the render time for such builds? -
If you thought that was bad, you should see the one with Leia. They dishonor Carrie Fisher's legacy by literally reducing her role to dead weight. And it still doesn't explain why the Ewoks have human-sized garments or know how braid hair. This is even worse than the Ewoks cartoon. Say what you will about that show, at least it had decent animation. This is so sad coming from Disney. There's a second short with Rey and one with Ahsoka, and while they're not as insulting as this, they're pretty lame too.
-
The first of the shorts is now online and it's about as lame as expected.

Odd, you'd think there'd be scans of the instructions online somewhere already, but apparently not. Here you go: -

Imperial Art Museum by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr Welcome to the Imperial Art Museum! Located at the heard of Coruscant, this large building houses art pieces from artists from all over the galaxy for the citizens of the Galactic Empire to enjoy (at the cost of a hefty entrance price). Some of them were submitted willingly, while others were taken by force or confiscated from the rebels. At the entrance, visitors are greeted by an imposing statue of Emperor Palpatine as well as some stormtroopers who are standing guard. Imperial Art Museum interior by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr This is usually not a meeting place for the military, so when Lieutenant Garr received a note from Grand Admiral Thrawn to meet him here, he was very surprised. Nevertheless, he did as the admiral requested and went to the museum at the time that Thrawn told him to be there. As he walked through the large entrance and past the information desk, he could see the blue skinned admiral standing in front of a large abstract sculpture in the center of the room. It was a gaudy structure comprised of several suspended colorful orbs and tubes. Garr approached the admiral and saluted him: "Grand Admiral, sir! You wanted to see me?" Thrawn responded without taking his red eyes off of the sculpture: "Ah, Leutenant Garr. Thank you for joining me. It was brought to my attention by Imperial High Command that you have been having trouble with the insurgents in the K'hali System." "Y-yes," said Garr nervously, looking down like a scolded child, "we have been trying to catch the rebels in that sector for weeks now, but they somehow always manage to get away." The K'hali sculpture by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr Thrawn paused for a moment, then he said: "I have called you here because I would like you to take a look at this sculpture. It was confiscated from a rebel transport leaving the K'hali system. Tell me, lieutenant, what do you make of this sculpture?" Garr was confused at the sudden change of topic, but then he replied: "Well, it just looks like a bunch of random orbs and tubes to me, sir. To be honest, it looks quite ugly." "It may seem that way at first glance, lieutenant," said Thrawn calmly, trying not to loose his temper at Garr's insolent remark about this piece of art, "but there is always more to art than meets the eye. Does the constellation of these orbs look familiar to you?" Garr shook his head: "No sir." "Well, it should, given that you have spent the past few weeks chasing around in it." "Uh... pardon, sir?" Garr asked confused. "The K'halii people are known for being explorers and expert cartographers," explained Thrawn. "When compared to Imperial star maps, the orbs in this sculpture match up perfectly with the planets in that in that system. This sculpture is an abstract representation of the K'hali system." "Wow, you're right," said Garr enlightened, "but what are the tubes all about?" "Excellent question," said Thrawn. "The tubes match all of the known Hyperspace routes in that sector. That is, all except this red one." Thrawn pointed at the red tube. Garr said: "Interesting! What does it mean?" "Is it not obvious?" Thrawn replied. "The K'hali rebels must have found a so far undiscovered Hyperspace route which they are using as a secret escape route. It is my theory that they intended to deliver this sculpture as a secret message to other rebel cells to inform them of this route." "Ingenious!" said Garr amazed. Thrawn finally turned to him and said: "Lieutenant, I want you to take an Interdictor cruiser and set a trap for these rebels along this route." "Yes, sir. Thank you," responded Garr and saluted the Grand Admiral. Then he left the museum as quickly as he could to carry out his orders. Thrawn by Okay Yaramanoglu, on Flickr A few hours later, the trap was set. Thrawn had returned to his office on the star destroyer Chimaera, and watched from his holo-table as the rebel cruiser was pulled out of hyperspace in the middle of the K'hali system, unable to escape. The trap was sprung, and once again Thrawn's great skills of deduction and knowledge of art have lead the Empire to another win. The rebels' secret hyperspace route ultimately became the Empire's route to victory. True, although I think that it actually worked in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt.2 as it served a purpose there. It showed how depressing and unpleasant Hogwarts had become under the control of Voldemort when compared to how bright and colorful it was in the first few movies. Also, most of the movie did take place at night, so it makes sense that it was so dark. In Beauty and the Beast, it could have worked if they would have made the castle look dark and ominous in the beginning and then used more and more color as the relationship between Belle and the Beast developed, and then maybe desaturated it again during the climax, to set the mood and mirror the Beast's feelings. But instead they just make it look depressing all the way through so that you expect a Dementor to pop up at any moment.

Some good points. However, I still feel they could've gotten a bit more creative. This is still a work of fiction after all, not reality. And so far it doesn't look like The Last Jedi will offer much new either aside from that lazy bomber design. Yeah... We already know that these are basically just glorified doll commercials, but couldn't they have at least put a little bit of effort into the animation? It looks like they went with the cheapest form of flash animation so that they can save money on the advertising. It looks like they are trying to copy Genndy Tartakovski's Clone Wars style, but that had WAY better animation than this. It's cool if they want to produce some Star Wars content more aimed at girls, but this halfhearted attempt is not the way to do it.

So has anyone else watched Cars 3? I just got back from seeing it and it was actually very good. I'd even say it's the best one in the trilogy because I was invested in the characters a lot more than in the other two movies. While I wasn't a huge fan of the first movie, it was nice to see the franchise focus on Lightning and racing again. As an adult you can really relate to the struggle he is going through, and the new character Cruz Ramirez had a lot of heart too. She starts out kind of annoying, but the more her character gets developed, the more you start to like her. I found myself caring about the characters so much that I forgot that I was watching a movie about anthropomorphic cars and it actually made me want to pick up some of the Juniors sets. The story is pretty predictable, but it has a good message and a lot of heartfelt moments in it. I've seen a lot of bad reviews for this film, but anyone who says that it's the same as the first movie or that it's "feminist propaganda" completely missed the point of the movie. And if you really thought that they were going to kill off or severely injure Lightning, the highly popular main character of this series, based on the teaser trailer, you will be disappointed. It may not be among Pixar's best movies (it's still a Cars movie after all) but I definitely recommend you check it out. The preceding short "Lou" was great too. Speaking of shorts, is anyone else disappointed that their next movie "Coco" will have a Frozen short attached to it? I don't hate Frozen and maybe we've just gotten spoiled with all the Pixar shorts, but this is breaking a long time tradition and just seems like a lazy cash grab from Disney. Hopefully this is just a one-time exception while they are getting their new experimental shorts division set up. Also, what is your opinion of the new DuckTales intro? I love how it pays homage to the original Carl Barks comics and the remixed theme song isn't too bad either! Good luck trying to get it out of your head for the rest of the day.

I think my post from two pages ago speaks for itself. But I only bought all of them because I'm in the minority who just likes the mighty micros style as it is and planned to get them all from the beginning. They're not part of the main Super Heroes theme, so if that's the only thing you're collecting, you shouldn't feel the need to buy all of them. If you want to buy them just because they have the Super Heroes label, you might as well collect the constraction figures, Brickheadz, Super Hero Girls, Duplo, and Juniors sets too.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/star-wars-why-han-solo-movie-directors-were-fired-1015474 Yeah, supposedly they were fired for making Han Solo too funny. What were they expecting when they hired two of the biggest comedy writers out there right now? I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand it was almost guaranteed that with Lord & Miller directing the movie was at least going to be entertaining and changing directors halfway through tends to not work out very well, but I can see how they might have gotten the character wrong and getting somebody who understands the character better is probably a good idea. It seems like they are currently considering Ron Howard and Joe Johnston. Not sure if either of them would be a good choice or not. Either way, I have very little interest in this movie and now that it doesn't even have the Lego Movie connection anymore I have even less interest.

Excellent! I've been working hard on my entry, but I could use some more time, so I appreciate the extension as well. One month to complete two large MOCs is simply not enough, at least for me. Looking forward to see what everyone comes up with. By the way, I didn't see anything about scale in the rules, so I assume any scale is allowed?

I don't normally like to complain, but can I just rant for a sec? I could be wrong and I probably shouldn't judge the movie before I see it, but so far everything points to this trilogy turning out to be an uninspired copy of the OT. Again, I don't like being so pessimistic and I want it to be good, but I just don't have much confidence that Disney (who are currently making a business recycling their own movies) will get more creative with these movies. It's yet another sign of Hollywood being unwilling to innovate these days and preying on people's nostalgia instead which I'm getting increasingly frustrated with. Say what you will about the prequels, but at least they tried to do something different and featured some original designs.
