  1. Thank you! I learned it's a bit of a challenge cramming as many details as I can into 16x16 lol. I bought a bunch of those blue/yellow flags (from Spongebob sets I think), and just cut some black tape to recreate the Sea Rat Flag. Working on getting my friend to print me some decals for the large 4x6 flags as well.

Thanks! That is my favorite shot as well. And not sure if you noticed.....but I actually cut down a spare katana to convert it into a wakizashi, the smaller sword Samurai normally carried as a pair with the katana.

[SR - FB] Class 2 Sloop Nymeria

I know of which thread you speak of. I'd do it, but I only have the brown/gray hulls, and a black/green. But I don't plan on using them too frequently lol. No aggression towards Oleon....yet . I don't think the Nymeria would survive any encounter....she is build for speed and transport only lol.
  4. The Black Wolf Company has chartered its first trading vessel, the Nymeria. Originally the Drunken Wench, one of Redbeard's "Renegade" class rum-runners, she was recently won in a wager from her (very drunk) captain. She has was stripped of most of her armament, lightened, and refitted for transport. She is Captained by Tobias Barlowe, an ex-Corrie naval officer, and former classmate of Ragnarrson in their youth. The Nymeria is a small, single masted sloop. She relies on her speed and agility to outrun any vessel who gives chase. To make way for more cargo, Barlowe stripped all of her heavy guns out, leaving just a few rail mounted muskets as a last defense. She is crewed by Barlow, his wife, and two able seamen.
  5. I actually created a small backstory about my main character, who hails from the uncharted north. So if you want to use any of the info I created in your adventure, feel free! I used a lot of Viking/Norse/Inuit influences. I kind of styled them as the descendants of Viking like people, who still hold on to their warrior heritage, while embracing the more modern technologies that have developed in Southern Halos.
  6. My set should be arriving Saturday....super excited!

    Modding the Barracuda thread

Super stoked.....been trying to find this set for weeks without crazy mark up, to no avail. Finally lucked out this morning and got one off Bricklink for just a few dollars over MSRP. Cant wait to get it.
  8. Great story and read. I had considered doing something like this for my Cat E entry, but got lazy

Thank you! They are surprisingly difficult sometimes, particularly in trying to keep the formations looking irregular and natural.

I always wanted the ships as a kid (I could only ever afford to buy the Cross Bone Clipper). Despite not being the most realistic, I absolutely love their classic styling. And since most of my brick collection is from the 90s and early 00s, I enjoy building in those styles still.

Thank you! And yes that is what it is, commonly called a hand cannon, among other things. I saw a post a whole back showing some examples of them, so figured it would be a nice item to add. Looking at it now, I kind of agree with you....3am me after 6 hours straight of building thought it was great . I may go back and edit it a bit later. Thank you for the kind words!

Thank you! I didn't even plan on this, as I have a larger ship I am beginning to work on, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to practice making sails (definitely a learning experience). Plus, since I'm starting out, I need all the DBs I can get! Tore down a Renegade Runner, and whipped this up. I really wish the narrow hull center sections weren't so hard to come by.....I have an idea of something to build if I could get my hands on 2 of those....
  14. Regardless of my opinion of the Oleananders, there is no denying they can build a beautiful ship!
  15. What a perfect time to arrive on the Rock, when the liquor business is booming! I must try this new wine....
  16. Thanks, gentlemen. There is no such thing as being over prepared! Thank you. I will be paying Sereen Cay and the Brothers a visit shortly!
  17. Thank ye, gentlemen! I'm happy with my torso selection as well....I wanted something a bit different being as my character hails from a northern land. I look forward to future run-ins and altercations with all you Imperials. May your gods have mercy on your souls! And to my fellow Sea Rats, it will be a pleasure fighting alongside you. I've also heard tale of a Secret Sea Rat discussion, how does one get added to it?
  18. Sea Rats, lend your ears! A new member and ally has entered the seas. Be ye Introduced to Corwin Ragnarrson, Commander of the Black Wolf Expeditionary Group. Arriving from the uncharted lands above the Great Northern Sea, Ragnarrson and the Black Wolf Company aim to establish a economic and military foothold in Terra Nova. Also, as with all scoundrels, scalliwags, and pirates, one should expect them to raid, pillage, plunder and otherwise pilfer their weasley black guts out. Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. Men like them thrive on chaos. The Black Wolf has come, and it is HUNGRY.
  19. Thank ye, gentlemen. I figured I could start anywhere. I already have the place in mind, I just wanted to confirm. I've been gearing up for this for a few weeks now, its just killing me that I have to wait on 2 pieces for my main character to get going. I will keep planning and preparing for future endeavors in the meantime!
  20. To the fine members (and Scoundrels!) of the Sea Rat Faction, I will be introducing my character shortly. I'm just waiting on a (MUCH DELAYED, thanks Pandemic) Bricklink order with a few necessary character pieces. I already have an introductory MOC/freebuild and introduction completed and ready to go, for when my last order arrives. In the meantime, I've been reading (a lot) and just trying to understand as much of the game as possible before I get going. One small question I had....when joining the game, can my character start at whatever Sea Rat port/property he wishes? My first order of business will be to build a small property to take advantage of my 1 free license. So for my introductory MOC, I'd like to set the story in the same location as where I want to build that property. Figured I'd ask here, since the factions all seem to have their own unique rules, etc. I don't remember reading anything which said you must start in a certain point, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Sincerely, Corwin Ragnarrson, Commander, Black Wolf Expeditionary Force

    [MOC] Islanders Hideout

I absolutely love the look of this. The mix of Classic Pirates cues, with more modern building techniques and pieces is glorious.
  22. I missed out on the initial offering of the Barracuda Bay set....trying to take my time and find a used one at a good price now. The original BSB is easily my favorite of the classic ships, and I love the updated design of the new one. And same, I pulled out all my old ships, and have been cleaning them off. I have about 50% of the Skull's Eye Schooner set disassembled, so I'll probably start purchasing the parts I need for that, along with a bunch of spare cannons to fully equip the ships to their max with guns. May even do a bit of modding to them to increase the gun count on some. I need to figure out how I want to display them too.
  23. After 4+ years of just sitting in a tub, I finally built my Red Beard Runner. Inventoried the missing pieces I needed, and ordered them from Bricklink. When all is said and done, I'll only have about $100 into this one (half of the cost were the sails I just purchased!) Another complete one checked off the list. Need to decide what ship to do next.
  24. A nice little trio of sets that arrived from an eBay purchase. #1713/1733 Shipwrecked Pirate, #1970 Pirate Gun Cart, and #1464/1696 Pirate Lookout. I love finding cheap combo sets like this. Makes me feel good after spending a good chunk of change on larger stuff
  25. Bricklink orders came through....I now have a complete #6249 Pirate Ambush, and #6296 Shipwreck Island Just waiting on 2 more Bricklink orders to finish up my Red Beard Runner, along with a few eBay purchases which should be in soon!
