BREAKING: The Orient Express Train approved in LEGO Ideas
garmsey replied to koraldon's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I will be interested to see what the released set will be, hopefully it will be compatible with lego track and not just a display piece like the Hogwarts Express. There is even a comment on the website from the designer that some of the wheels do not fit correctly on the track so I think Lego will have some work adjusting the fan design. -

1980's-style Red and Blue passenger train and 4-6-4+4-6-4 (Double Hudson) Garratt steam locomotive
garmsey replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I like how you have combined inspirations from multiple trains to come up with your Lego design. How will you be powering the locomotive? -
This looks great. I have supported it. Hopefully the support of trains on Lego ideas will encourage them to continue making train sets.

Interstellar Zephyr - streamlined diesel with passenger train for space layout
garmsey replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I like how your design has taken inspiration from real trains but you have modified it to meet your story. I look forward to seeing the new design when you are able to build it. -
I like that there is more track and train cars and less of the other side builds. This gets me excited to see what they have planned for the passenger train and station. Hopefully they will also focus more on the trains and less on the side builds.

I like the steam engine and also the station you have included on the ideas page. I have supported it.

Congrats on the win and thanks for taking us along on your building journey. You really did a great job in creating Katy out of Lego. If you do decide to do instructions I would be interested as well. -

LEGO Train Tunnel Idea - Suggestions and support
garmsey replied to BananaBrick01's topic in LEGO Train Tech
The boulders look like fun for kids. Does the pull tab in the picture release them? Also, can the passing train make them fall? Thanks for the updates. -
I found the website below which does a really good job explaining the Inglenook shunting puzzle as well as other shunting puzzles. It is actually where I first found Hod Carrier's lego version. With the Doublenook there are some changes to the rules that Hod Carrier should be able to better explain. http://www.wymann.info/ShuntingPuzzles/Inglenook/inglenook-layouts.html

Thanks for the updates. The updated layout looks great and I like the idea of the switches.

Hi, I am from St. Louis, Missouri, USA. I am mostly interested in the Lego trains and city. I have a young son who has got me back into Lego. I am learning to use Stud.io and have posted instructions for a few MOCs and alternative builds on my Rebrickable page. https://rebrickable.com/users/bgarms/mocs/
