Latest news about Lego animal moulds

Okay. Go to Bricks & Pieces. Look up part number 3024. Note the colours available Look up part number 28554. Note the colours available What do you see? They're all 1x1 plates, we treat the all as 3024. The plates say 3024. Lego does not treat them the same because they're different moulds for different materials. The same goes for the stag. 51493 is the mould for the Christmas one, 51538 is the mould for the HP transparent one. Lunar New Year penguin? Friends solid colour penguin is 14733, trans blue penguin is 68940. Different moulds for different materials. Although the penguin is dual-moulded too so bad example.

Lego colors - coming and going

Bricklink indicates white by a wide margin: Colour Guide Edit: Sorry, misunderstood, thought you were asking the most common colour

Latest news about Lego animal moulds

The issue there I believe is that the moulds for transparent versions of parts are different to those used for solid colours due to different material shrinkage properties. So a trans-blue otter mould can not be used for a solid colour without causing issues with connection/clutch

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

The BrickHunter extension was doing it for me live on the order details up until fairly recently. Now it doesn't so not much use I know...

Mine look the same at the moment, I would imagine this is part of the rollout of the system changing ready for the changes to B&P and PAB. I see they've finally improved the way to get discount codes, making it much clearer if you're doing online or in store vouchers.

Good / well executed (city) helicopter features

The winch also features in helicopters in 4995, 60010 and 7738. 7738 is the only one I have and has what seems like the best usage - the winch arm swings inside the body to allow the door to close, giving the model a full chopper body.

    Old monkey vs new monkey

I adore most animals but the monkey doesn't do anything for me. The pose just feels wrong. I'm going to stick to the classic monkey, regardless of scale. Maybe if the new one could swing from the rigging with a banana and a bottle of grog like the old ones I'd be more tempted...

Help required to identify pantograph parts

You're right, they're part of the range of 2&3 finger hinges that've been out of production for about 20 years. They're attached to part 2452 at the top and either the same or 4275 at the bottom.

Bricklink Designer Program 2021 Discussion Thread

I found with the fishing boat that parts in bags didn't quite match up to the instructions - the end of one bag containing the first step of the next bag in the instructions for instance. I was convinced I was missing multiple chains too since the first pair were in the numbered bag but the ones a few steps later were not - they later turned out to be in the un-nunbered bag of large parts. The bags for the sides of the hull were a little oddly ordered too, the first containing one hull side and a pile of parts for bow and stern but the instructions wanted the other hull side first which was in the next bag. These issues all seem to be down to how Lego decided which parts go in each bag, either that or there were some last minute changes to the instruction order after production had started. That aside though the instructions were clear and well put together and building it was good fun. It's a lovely model too.

    Do you only buy lego?

I've purchased a few job lots that have contained other brands and there has been quite a variety of quality in them, the best have needed reading the name on the studs to distinguish Lego from the rest. The worst you can spot a mile off with everything from colour issues to poor shaping. Other brands do a significantly better white, that's about the only plus (discounting price) I've seen. For me it's Lego all the way but each to their own with whatever suits their way best.

Buildings, scale 1:25, created by Pinnacle

You're using this part internally so surely any colour and variation could reasonably be substituted?

    price increase in Europe

TENTE? Good grief that brings back memories. We still have a couple of 5l ice-cream tubs full of the stuff from my younger days. Of course there was a lot of the more delicate parts that snapped pins or lost rotor blades. No instructions though so goodness only knows what the original sets were.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

I had a spate of bigger sets with parts errors - a missing 1x4 plate in the Police Station, a 1x1 DBlue brick instead of a 1x1 TransClear in 60197, missing 1x2 plate in the Harley... It was getting to the point where I was dreading building new sets wondering what the mistake was going to be that time. The sheep I had a bag arrive a few months ago, loose packed in a jiffy style bag and a couple had marks from legs on the body. I found a thin damp cloth over my fingernail and scratch firmly cleared it eventually.
