You are almost there! Allow me to help you a little with the images and how to share them on Eurobricks forum. Eurobricks does not allow members to upload images directly to the server because there are a lot of members and a lot of more images. Instead, to share the images here you need to: 1. Go to your Flickr and open one picture in the new tab. 2. Copy the url address (example on the picture) 3. Paste the address inside this thread, and the system will automatically embed the picture inside the post. The end. example for the same image from the above Looking forward to see the final version!

@zinnn you can easily try that in Studio.io since @iragm made the studio.io file also available with the instructions. If anyone needs the fortress in digital, you can download it HERE from my GoogleDrive. I gave my best to follow the instructions to the letter.

You raise a valid and good question, but we will need to wait at least two weeks for a definitive answer from Governor @Mister Phes until he returns to us from his long-due vacation. Common sense would say yes, yes they do. Because, in another situation you could have been commenting and giving valuable critique to a designer who somehow got disqualified from the contest. Should you also be punished (i.e. not getting points) because he broke the rules somewhere down the line? No, that does not sound right. But, let's wait for a definitive answer from Governor. While we are on the subject of commenting, everyone is welcomed and encouraged to write a comment or a praise - or two - on builds and topics which are not submitted for the ongoing contest. A casual stroll down the Pirate-MOCs or BoBS forum will show you many fantastic MOCs worth visiting. Perhaps commenting on these builds will not give you any contest points, that's true, but they will give you instead community points. Contests come and go, but the community is here to stay, and having a good status within that community doesn't hurt.

This is my favourite entry from you at this moment. So much playability packed and so many details, and your presentation skills are superb!

After being fascinated by the Spanish ship "Santa Ana" in Madrid's Naval Museum, Eurobricks member Captain Braunsfeld decided to produce yet another formidable vessel, possibly the biggest in his fleet so far, which carries the name, The Pride of Pontelli. Set your course at once to the docks of LEGO Pirates Forum and check out this mighty creation.

So the question was... is it a bit premature to start MOD-ing the new 10320 Eldorado Fortress? Nah! I don't think so. Like the last iconic pirate set (21322 POBB), reimagined Eldorado Fortress also comes with the completely useless dinghy. To make matters worse, AFOLs are led to believe that two daring pirates are more than capable of attacking the fortress and getting away with it by rowing into the sunset! Luckily, with only 195 extra pieces we can turn this far stretched LEGO fantasy into a plausible scheme by giving pirates a sailing ship!

Worry not! Contest requires you to build something awesome and pirate-themed. Piece-count is only a guide-line for designers not go overboard. Good rule of the thumb is, if you are under 3000k pieces (just like on LEGO Ideas) you are still inside "economic/size normal" category. So build away that jungle! That's quite easy, if you have any CAD designer skills, as I have explained here BRACE YOURSELF, my critique on your way... Flag on the ship is pointed in wrong direction of the wind, which is supposed to be blowing in the sails? Yup, that's my only issue with this MOC ENTRY. It's just proves how good it is.

Thank you for your explanation and I'm sorry to hear all of this was such a bad experience for you. As you felt the need to call-out Eurobricks staff, let me address two things here. Regarding the Frontpage, please allow me to highlight point (3) of the terms on which you also agreed by entering the contest. As you can see, there is NO RULE which dictates that Contest Entries are not allowed to be frontpaged by EB staff. As for your other objection (of an already outstanding entry getting outside help) you can accuse me of doing the same for helping several members who did not knew how to upload images on Flickr and share them inside the forum for all to see. Should I avoid teaching people how to share their work on forum? Following the same line of thought, you can also accuse other members, those constructive critiques, for giving valuable advice to designers how to improve their build. Should they avoid commenting great builds? Giving any advice? The individual who took time and energy to improve images (of an already outstanding entry) gave you reasonable answer and valuable offer to help you with your entries if you need help. If you want help with photos just reach out - I'm happy to advise and help out. I'm not really hyped about the competition itself (even though I'm planning to submit my build too) - I'm just excited we're getting some amazing MOCs from the Pirates lore. In summary, no rule was violated, nor is this contest broken or prearranged for one or two participants to win. Winners are chosen by the vote, remember? And I feel we will see even better entries in August when heavy-hitters begin to enter the contest, you know, those 10K Club-members builders who are also in love with Pirates.

This is fantastic photo! The ship is leaving the port, off to some exciting adventure, and we have longing, or perhaps a touch of worry of some unknown town official, or merchant, wondering if the ship will ever reach its destination. Well done!

From my understanding, it is one main prize, and second and third prize for builders category, whether you chose to do a Re-Make or completely new set it's up to you. But... I'm maybe wrong so we need to wait the final word on that from the Governor later this month. As for you second observation, yes, I agree with that majority of entries so far have been Re-Makes, but this should not discourage anyone from making something new and outstanding. If I find time, I will enter this little show with a new build. Most probably, or we can compile all entries in one brief blog-post on Classic-Pirates.com with links to voting thread. We will see with the Governor what works best when he returns from his long due leave pillage and plunder on high seas by the end of this month.

And so, I give you another Black Pearl MOC! In my defence, I never really wanted to do the Black Pearl, seeing as there is no shortage of Pearls inside this forum and elsewhere, but I didn’t have a choice, they forced me to do it! But who could do such a horrible thing to a humble MOC designer? Well how about two persistent, annoying but all the while lovable nephews who just happen to be in love with the Pirates-theme? That’s who! And now, the digital renders of the forced work so far. ABOUT THE DESIGN As many designers before me, I tried to mimic the real Pearl as much as possible, with deliberate exception of the main deck length. Here I decided to make a big step away from the original because: 1) The distance between the masts looks too wide for my taste and thus I feel the overall ship looks slightly out of proportion. In movies this is hardly noticeable, as our eyes are fixed on the constant action frame after frame... but during the design phase, this issue readily pops up like a Jack-Sparrow-in-the-Box. Here is a broadside comparison against the artwork of the real Pearl, made for Disney by concept artist Jeremy Love. 2) Shorter mid-section ensures that the overall size of the ship is still within ‘playable category’ – meaning my 10year old nephew can still pick and carry the darn thing, and make swooshy sounds. I think that’s a good measure to have, if you are a ship designer and you are aiming to build semi-playable ships. Here is a size comparison with the new Black Seas Barracuda, which most of you probably have. ARMAMENT The Black Pearl carries 22 cannons: 12 on the gun deck and 10 on the upper deck. Its full broadside contains 11 cannonballs. Like the original, the Pearl has no chase guns in her bow or stern, which gives her a tactical disadvantage, while her high speed only partially negates this handicap. To maximise playability, and allow easy access to the gun deck, large section of the upper deck can be easily removed. More of the same applies for inclined quarterdeck, under which we find Captain Barbossa drooling over some 16th century Apple products. INFLUENCE & INSPIRATION Here I want to highlight two Pearl designs which had a big influence on me during this project: Black Pearl by @-DoNe- , and Black Pearl Project by @papacharly. Both are terrific designs and light-years better than clunky hideous official LEGO Pearl (if I dare to mention that shipbuilding blunder of the decade... whoops, I guess I just did). Thank you both for sharing your work inside the forum. THE REAL BUILD Digital design phase is for now finished, but I consider this still as [WorkInProgress] until I make the obligatory exciting test-build with real bricks. The total piece-count without minifigures is 3020, and going through my brick storage I managed to gather ~1600 usable parts. Now all that remains is to find and obtain the rest of the parts, test the cursed thing and show it to the world. I hope it will be ready for release by July/August of 2023, just in time to celebrate 20th anniversary of the POTC: The Curse of the Black Pearl.

Don't know if this was mentioned before, but going through the instructions manual I stumbled upon something interesting. I'm looking forward to see how this option works out.

Nay, thank you for sharing with us this wonderful build! It's gaining a lot of positive feedback on our Classic-Pirates Facebook Group! And thank you for your explanation about the Cat Skull Makes perfect sense now. Do you consider entering ongoing Classic-Pirates contest? Your building skills would certainly make the contest more interesting.

Perhaps we should all stop building ships and move on to designing hammocks, the market seems to be clear on that
