21348 Lego Ideas Dungeons & Dragons and D&D CMF
Subnautica replied to Black Falcon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The CMF series sounds interesting but the choices seem like a weird mix. 7 player classes, 4 named characters, and then a monster NPC. Feels like it should have either been the 12 core rulebook classes and included a Fighter, Wizard, Rogue, Cleric, and Monk instead or have gone with fully named characters and included the like Vecna, Mordenkainen, and Drizzt.- 410 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

lol, true. It was definitely a very rough concept on my part, LEGO would obviously execute it better than me. -
Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

I feel like the leak is probably going to turn out to be fake. One large/expensive set seems like too strange of a choice for a movie with such a large young audience as most kids won’t ever get a $200 set. Unlikely, but it’s be interesting if they released multiple sets that combined into the full Statue of Liberty. That way kids could build up to it or at least get some of the characters. The end result would be the upper torso like in Apocalypseburg, but smaller. Something like: Tobey, Doc Ock, a brick built Sandman. Andrew, Electro, and Lizard with the statue’s torch arm. Tom, Green Goblin, MJ, Ned, and Strange with the torso and head of the statue. -

Maybe DC will push for more sets in order to market the DCU more once the movies under the Gunn/Safran plan start. -
40580 Buildable Tahu: Bionicle returns in 2023!

Didn’t realize that, just saw for the first time today. Though it now seems to be deleted so no idea if that helps or hinders its authenticity. -

A leaked image is up on instagram. The account name is matoro41. Takua is a nice addition and at least their masks are printed pieces (looks like it’s printed on this? https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=15068&name=Slope, Curved 2 x 2 x 2/3&category=[Slope, Curved]#T=C) but the proportions are awkward. But anything BIONICLE related is better than nothing so I can’t complain too much. -

On one hand anything BIONICLE being made is great news, but on the other thing it behind a GWP is a bummer since it’ll probably be pretty low part count / not very detailed. Hopefully it’s at least not a very high minimum purchase -

Honestly no matter how good it looks, I don’t see a $550 Hulkbuster being successful. It’s just not iconic enough, especially if it’s the IW version. I think Marvel is just too character focused for these large non-minifig scaled sets to really work (the Helicarrier being the exception since it was a big part of multiple movies). Hopefully LEGOs takeaway from this year is to make more stuff like the Bugle and Sanctum and not that large sets are unwanted. -

Looks like an okay $60 set. *sees price* Oh... But seriously, how is this worth $20 more than the Goat Boat ($30 more than it's pre-price hike price)? It has a little less pieces and they both have the same amount of figures. -

Ya, probably don't want a repeat of Black Widow/Shang-Chi where they released the sets way before the movie. Unlike NWH, I doubt we'll get any more spoiler sets for MOM. The two Spider-Men and villains were a major part of NWH, while the Illuminati were glorified cameos who died almost immediately. -

The only way I can see that BP vehicle rumor being true and having any chance at selling is if it’s a part of a large Battle of Earth display. And even then it’s really not very visually appealing scenery and would need to rely heavily on minifigures to sell -

0. The MCU is much more popular and there’s going to be a lot of D+ ground to cover by the time they get to a second series. The earliest it’ll happen is the third slot of 2023 and by then they’ll need to cover Hawkeye, Moon Knight, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Secret Invasion, What If s2, and probably Echo and Loki s2. -

Ya, the 60s and 80s slots I was stretching on since I was trying to be realistic and was only pulling from animated projects. Personally I would prefer Black Cauldron to represent 80s, but that’s way too deep of a cut to happen. Though now that I think about it, I’d def change 60s to be Cruella and 80s to Triton or Basil (Great Mouse Detective) -

Featuring each decade would be interesting. Something like: Oswald Rabbit (1920s) Snow White (1930s) Sorcerer Mickey (1940s) Cinderella (1950s) Mowgli (1960s) Robin Hood (1970s) Human Ariel (1980s) Mulan (1990s) Lilo (2000s) Judy Hopps (2010s) Mirabel (2020s) 12th slot is up in the air. Maybe Disney himself, but I know he’s kinda controversial so idk. I would love for Atlantis: The Lost Empire or Treasure Planet to make it he cut, but sadly they aren’t even close to being popular enough. -

Since there’s a good chance the first teaser trailer will be revealed at CC, I think a non-legacy set being revealed isn’t out of the realm of possibility. -

There’ll definitely be a Black Panther in the movie, just not T’Challa’s. They already established the title has been passed from generation to generation for thousands of years so someone knew will take it up. -

I don’t see that happening w/ the price difference. BIONICLE/Exo-Force/Knights Kingdom were like $8-15 (depending on theme/year), so they were closer to the price of the little mechs. With the Iron Man being $40 and these supposed sets $30, I don’t see non-licensed figs in the same style selling well. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

I've seen kids doing it at the LEGO Store (Pre-COVID, haven't been since) and often saw the adults who were looking for themselves offer to help any kids find the one they really wanted. -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours

Personally this is probably the final nail in the coffin for the product. At $5 a piece it’s just not worth it to me, especially with series now being 12 instead of 16. Maybe will pick the occasional one off Bricklink if they really interest me, but won’t be buying anymore sealed. -

My guess would be another D+ Marvel series. First one did very well and there's going to have been another 5-6 shows out by then. -

Not really feeling most of these figs too much. Zombie Strange - The one I was most excited for, but a big let down. Hair is too neat/no grey streaks, clothing should be black instead of dark blue, and the face isn’t very good. Wong - Face doesn’t look like him and no hair or leg printing. Torso is good though and holding out hope for the small change he gets leg printing. Sinister Strange - This is the quality I was hoping for, they really nailed this one. Spider-Man - It’s a good Spider-Man, but I’m not just not interested the non-Strange related characters they decided to include. Maw - Ew. MoM Strange will obviously be a repeat and like Spider-Man I don’t care about Iron Man, so holding out hope that Wanda and Mordo are of the same quality as Sinister Strange. -

I absolutely love the sea life vignettes and was disappointed they didn't make it the first time, so I'm glad it's getting a second chance. The viking village is also really nice -

Because LEGO can't include a Bat-vehicle in a Watchmen set?
