Harry Potter custom builds and moc's

Seems like this is the repository to catalog HP MOCs. More photos included in the link to my original post. Hope you like it ! [MOC] - HP Battle of Seven Potters

[MOC] - HP Battle of Seven Potters

Though not in the original books, I really loved this most memorable scene from the Deathly Hallows Pt1 film. Hagrid and Harry do the "loop-d-loop" to avoid head on traffic while evading Death Eaters during the Battle of Seven Potters. It was supposed to be a small build, but like many things it quickly grew in scope and became a much bigger project. Here it is ! This is only a small sample of pictures... there's a lot more on my IG. Link provided below. Enjoy !! Hey thanks so much for checking out my other posts.... if not to have fun, what's the point of Lego, right !?!?

    [MOC] - Harry Potter Vignettes

Happy to share with you some vignettes that I built from the Harry Potter movies. Here are two scenes from Dumbledore's office featuring his Pensieve and Memory Cabinet. Hope you enjoy ! There are more HP builds on my instagram Pensieve 1 by Alex Lam, on Flickr "What you are looking at are memories. In this case containing to one individual. This is perhaps the most important memory I've collected. I'd like you to see it." At these times, I use the Pensieve." Pensieve 4 by Alex Lam, on Flickr Pensieve 5 by Alex Lam, on Flickr

[MOC] HP Second Triwizard Task - The Black Lake and Merpeople

Thank you ! Took a bit of work to find all those trans green and purple bricks in the quantities at not too outrageous a price. I too really like the way it turned out too !

[MOC] HP Second Triwizard Task - The Black Lake and Merpeople

Thanks for your compliments ! I really enjoyed putting this together though it took a lot of experimenting and rebuilding - which is the fun part of course ! Waiting for bricklink orders, not so much ! I agree... it'd be amazing to get a molded grindylow (sp?) as they've already made molded Cornish pixies. Definitely not a UCS version, LOL !
  7. Come seek us where our voices sound, We cannot sing above the ground, An hour long you'll have to look, To recover what we took. Very pleased to bring you my MOC of the Second Task from the Triwizard Tournament. The scene under the Black Lake with the Merpeople is my favourite - how more magical can you get? My goal was to really try to get that 'underwater' feeling and to create the illusions of 'depth' that you see in the movie. I only included a few pictures here, but I have a lot more on my IG account so do take a look. [MOC] HP Hogsmeade Village - Zonko's Joke Shop - UPDATED

Thanks very much. It was only my second custom moc from about a year ago when were in full out lockdown. Had to use what bricks I had ! I love doing the little touches like the snow, just to give it that less than precise appearance of reality. I have one last module to photograph, but it's taking me a long time. School has started and I'm teaching a new grade this year so a lot of work after the school day is done. I hope to put it together by December... that will be about 2 years since I first started, LOL !!!

[MOC] Diagon Alley XL - Finished

wow ! that is seriously impressive. a labour of love. well done !!!
  10. Greetings, Here's a second addition to our modular Hogsmeade MOC. It's an interpretation of Zonko's Joke shop based on theme park photos and my imagination. The downstairs is the joke shop while they've expanded into Cosplay outfits on the second floor. The tall building next door is a take on what an Owlery might look like.. that will be covered in a different post. Apologies about the overexposure in some of the photos. Having difficulty learning how to photograph interiors at that time. Enjoy ! [MOC] - HP Hogsmeade Village - Part 1: Honeydukes

100% agree. The way I see it, the movies are but one interpretation. No need to be a slave to the screen, right ? Even the Lego official releases are an interpretation of an interpretation as well.

[MOC] - HP Hogsmeade Village - Part 1: Honeydukes

Thanks. I agree, in the movies and in Orlando they do look quite rundown. I wasn't so interested in being sticking to what's seen on screen. Rather I was more interested in capturing the spirit of the different stores in the village first, and trying out different building techniques second. It's meant to be loosely inspired and not canon.

[MOC] - HP Hogsmeade Village - Part 1: Honeydukes

Thanks ! It's actually my first moc. Only ever built official sets before which helped me learn a lot of neat techniques.
  14. Greetings, Long time reader, first time poster - I finally built up the nerve ! I've been building a modular Hogsmeade Village MOC over the last year while we went in and out of lockdown. My first instalment is my version of Honeydukes. I finished this long before Lego's recent wave so I don't have any of the cool pieces or figures from that set. I will be posting more modules of the village as I finish photographing them. Hope you enjoy it.
