    [POLL] Best Pirates Set

POBB, nothing comes even close. Lego absolutely nailed it with that set.
  2. I agree, but I've been snowed with other work to have time to reconsider this design. Project TBC ;)
  3. Lame results, but once again that shows that we NEED an official proper Castle wave from Lego. I'm not a fan of any of those winning sets

Classic treasure map - vector image

Hey @PxChris if you can hook me up with a good quality photo/scan of the map you want I can create a vector file from it
  5. Update on my expansion, still in the works. Thanks to @iragm for the awning idea.
  6. I'm happy to finally be able to share with you my first proper MOC - The Skull Island. Since the purchase of the Pirates of Barracuda Bay (21322), I've been wanting to expand it with something that would capture its style and atmosphere. After coming across 70411: Treasure Island, I realised that I love this set’s concept, but I felt its appearance was too simplistic. So I decided to draw inspiration from it and reimagine it within the POBB universe. *Studio limits didn't let me create the minifigs I wanted, so had to go with fairly generic crew for the renders below. I actually built this set at home, so will share some photos of it in real life in the next few days. 1) The set comes with 4 minifigures (3 pirates and 1 soldier), 1 skeleton, 3 seagulls, 4 bats, 1 crab and 1 spider. 2) It includes a couple play features: a working, movable skull-gate and a secret spot to hide your loot under the jetty. 3) The roof of the cave can be removed for easier access to the inside of the cave. 4) The set has 615 pieces (without the minifigs).
  7. You mean under the dock? If yes, that's a work in progress, I've just filled the hole now for this render, my idea is that the back of this set is leading to the port town so you can add more modules to it. Thank you for other suggestions, I'm still experimenting with it :)
  8. Fantastic! I'm planning to build this one too at some point:) I'm also working on an expansion of this set, adding the back to the "tavern" plus a small grocery seller stand. It's all still in progress, but you can see photo below. The only thing I'm not sure is if I keep the black panels for the ground, since they're supposed to be wood, I don't think the tavern would be built on them?

Which island type do you like the most?

I agree! Why not pin it?

Which island type do you like the most?

Before I clicked this thread, I thought POBB, but I must admit I'm warming up to the new Eldorado beaches, especially with the new "Slope Curved with Stud Notch left and right (80177 & 80178)" The only problem with them is that to make the beach long, it will take a lot of pieces, I wish they'd make a 4-stud (or more) wide pieces to match this style.

    [MOC & Instructions] 6267 Lagoon Lock-Up Revisited

Just found this thread today, love it! Is there any chance someone managed to save the instructions? The link no longer works...

    Getting into Pirates

Incredible sets, you'll have a ton of fun building those! POBB is in my opinion the greatest Lego set ever. There were A LOT of 'wows' exclaimed while building it for the first time.

    [POLL] Medieval Town Square

Haven't seen those, could you post them here / link to a website where I can view them please?
  14. I've been meaning to order something from PAB but I'm not sure if I should wait a bit longer until torsos from the new Medieval Town Square show up there?
  15. Have you ever come across some amazing small build ideas on Instagram, FB or even google search and think that's so cool, maybe I'll add it to my setup one day. And you never do :P Or would like to add something, but don't know where to search. Well I thought we can have a thread to share small builds you come across on the net, ideally with instructions if available (+ make sure you credit the author too). I'm open to see some photos without instructions too, just to appreciate some interesting techniques. Here are some bits I found that are really neat: Lego weapon rack by itnael Free instructions here: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-160029/itnael/lego-weapon-rack/#details Cartography Table by marinbrickdesign (I do recommend following him on IG, as he has a lot of tutorials: https://www.instagram.com/marinbrickdesign) Free instructions: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-126676/marinbrickdesign/cartography-table-lego-pirates-moc/ IG user brickolaskotzi has a ton of great small builds for the office, one of my favs is his clock: Free instructions: https://www.instagram.com/p/CjSMliXK8eK/ Pirate furniture by Massenzio Free instructions: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-131006/Massenzio/pirate-furniture/

    [POLL] Medieval Town Square

Great set, hate the amount of stickers there. Not planning to buy it. May get a couple of torsos from this set on Bricklink, as they should fit the Pirates theme.
  17. FYI - I had to put this project on hold (as well the Islanders one) but it's back on! I'm reworking the base of the Skull Island (mostly stuff "behind the scenes") to make it more secure, and more official Lego-like. The three bamboo leaves pieces that were around the palm trees were quite loose, their grip is not the best so I decided to get rid of them and instead add some rocks - that also helped to secure the palm trees better. More/new photos coming soon :)

    Marvel Cinematic Universe

Have you all seen the new Deadpool vs Wolverine movie trailer? It looks so good, I'm genuinely hyped for this.
  19. That's exactly the reason why I'm planning to place an order there. I guess I will wait for the next double points slot...
  20. Don't worry, I was just being picky - I already voted for your design :) I've also voted for Trading post by KingCreations and both ships by BrickPerfection The rest is a pass for me tbh.
  21. Found it the other day, for fans of drone, dark ambient, dungeon synth Download/buy https://omegadrakkoniis.bandcamp.com/album/spectral-starguiding FYI this is not my project, I found it the other day on a music forum and found it amusing, especially seeing the UFO mask on the front cover :D The album is surprisingly good, if you're into darker corners of the electronic music. I think it sort of fits the ominous vibe of the UFO sets as well as the first wave of Blacktron. PS> I feel like each song title could be a set name :)
  22. Thank you! I must admit, seeing your studio file made me realise how INCREDIBLE your set is. For how small it is, it's packed with details. Amazing job!!!
  23. A couple of years ago I had the 4182 set from the Pirates of the Caribbean line and the brown plates snapped. Has it happened with other sets? Do you think POBB set may be problematic with brown pieces?
  24. I bought a couple of small POTC sets on Ebay a couple of years ago, and a few pieces snapped while I was building them. I put them up for sale the next day and decided it's best to forget that theme existed ;)
