    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

I am the Morbius target audience. Anyway, I would honestly be kind of surprised if we don't see a new Deadpool within the next couple of years. He's inarguably one of the most popular Marvel characters, and just about any set he shows up in is bound to sell quite well. I could see him maybe being restricted to a D2C, but we'll definitely get him sooner or later.

Are you sure that isn't actually just a delayed set for Space Jam: A New Legacy? Anyway, I don't really have much to add to the current conversation, but in an effort to keep my stupid joke post relevant, I will say that it's pretty neat that Armor Wars is a movie, if only for the fact that we'll probably see some interesting sets come out of it. I could have seen Lego doing some sets based on the show version too since they just love their mechs so much, but I imagine we'll probably get more sets this way, and more variety within them.

    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

Unless I missed something, we don't have any confirmation that the D2C is a Black Panther vehicle. Right now it still seems most likely to be a Hulkbuster.
  4. I think this may actually be my favorite UCS ship they've ever done, it just looks amazing. I also love how it has a mini-fig scale interior, hopefully they keep doing that when it makes sense. Aside from the weird gaps on the bottom (which look extremely easy to fix), I really can't find any faults in the set. The price seems fair, but it's so high that I'd never even consider buying it unless I won the lottery, so I'll just have to admire it from a distance.
  5. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure how likely it is that we'll get any especially large prequel/CW sets next summer. There are certainly more expensive sets than there used to be, but I feel like the combination of new shows coming out in 2023 and the fact that we just got a big prequel set this year doesn't exactly make it seem likely to me that we'll see anything huge on that front next year. The only thing I could maybe see is a new Gunship, but I think Lego might wait until that's out of circulation before they do a new minifigure scale one.
  6. I for one am greatly looking forward to the Jar Jar bust. As for some actual discussion, how expensive do you think the set that Rex ends up coming in is going to be? I really would like to get him and he seems pretty likely for next year since we're getting the 501st BP and already have the new helmet mold. My main worry is that he'll be locked to a mediocre $100+ set.

I think the main reason we probably never got Veronica is that it's probably just not all that interesting to the average kid. They'd probably have to double the price of the set if it was able to fit the whole Hulkbuster inside, and at the end of the day, Veronica is just a red and gray box. A cool box that could have some very neat functionality, but a box nonetheless. It's also only in one scene in the entire MCU, so that probably hasn't helped either.

I almost want that to happen, if only for the absolute chaos it would create. It's obviously exceedingly unlikely, but I also wouldn't put such a thing past Lego at this point.
  9. I think the Razor Crest looks nice. Non-minifig scale stuff has never really interested me, but it's a good set for sure, probably among my favorite of the UCS vehicles they've made. As with most huge sets though, I still can't help but feel like my money would be better spent on a couple of more moderately priced items instead.
  10. I think D2Cs based on stuff outside the main nine are certainly a possibility going forward, but I imagine that the specific series will still need to be fairly popular. The Mandalorian may very well be the most popular Disney-ers Star Wars story (certainly the most well-received, at least), so I don't imagine we'll see UCS stuff for the more moderately popular spin-offs like Rogue One. At the end of the day, there's just more money to be made in the original trilogy most of the time, and probably in a good amount of potential prequel UCS sets as well.

I think that critique could be leveled at the entire wave. It doesn't really feel like Wakanda vs Atlantis when there are only two Atlanteans. Even just one more would've been nice, named or generic.

    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

I think another reason why Lego may have skipped the more recent D+ series (at least for the time being) is that most of the major characters present in them are going to show up again sooner or later. Sure, they could have made Moon Knight or Ms. Marvel sets (or just done another CMF), but aside from some of the main antagonists, we could, and probably will, get Lego versions of all the main characters at some point. I imagine that given the insane amount of MCU projects releasing at the moment, Lego has simply decided to prioritize the ones that will be more profitable, knowing that most of the characters they aren't making will end up being available later on.

I was hoping for a Morb Mech, but I suppose a Morbmobile doesn't sound too bad either. Still can't believe we're actually getting Morbius.
  14. Very cool. I don't ever buy UCS stuff, but I'm very curious to see what this one looks like since it's (seemingly) so big compared to your usual UCS ship.

    Marvel Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

I don't know if there was ever any sort of official confirmation, but I've always assumed it didn't do very well since that line was so short lived (I believe they only made him and Yoda). To be fair though, any sales data from back then is completely irrelevant to a modern set's potential, given how different the Lego landscape is these days. My guess is that Lego is just in the mood to try a whole bunch of different things now that they've pulled in some new fans (from the pandemic), with the hope being that some of them will end up being popular.
