  1. I just watched your video @TalonCard - great job! Didn't know you are the guy behind LoreEscape. I had already subscribed to your channel a few months ago.

Awesome to see the game explained in such detail, thanks for your work! Makes me happy to see so many people, like you, Slugger and many others dig up so much history about Time Cruisers. I sure hope there'll be a lot more to discover in the future!

    Chris

  2. For anyone who's interested, I have found a little more info about the game from World Club Magazine.

It is actually listed on Bricklink, although there's absolutely no info about the game:

    https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?C=925.789-D&name=Lego World Club - Das Zeitreise-Action-Spiel (925.789-D) (German)&category=[1997]#T=S&O={"iconly":0}

This German page though goes into a lot more detail, even the rules of the game are explained:

    https://www.reich-der-spiele.de/ludomu/lego-das-zeitreise-action-spiel

    Here's the translated version:

"Game components: Game board, 4 identity cards, 16 life chips, 16 position cards, 16 code chips, 12 opponent cards, 3 life chips for opponents

Commentary: This game was a supplement to the LEGO World Club magazine. In addition to the game material mentioned, you also need one LEGO figure and one dice per player. The game is played in twos or fours. With four players, two form a team. The game board shows four time zones: Castle, Western, Divers and UFO. Each player receives an identity card that shows their attack strength, defense strength, and life points. These values can also be found on the enemy cards. Players start at the "Time Wheel" in the middle of the plane. The aim is to collect 8 code chips as quickly as possible. There are four positions per time zone where the chips are hidden. It is important to reach them as quickly as possible. Three of the four positions require defeating opponents before capturing the chip. Once a team has collected 8 codes they return to the time wheel and roll a 6 they win."

So there were many more cards and chips that I'm missing unfortunately...

  3. Looks really sleek and agile! Perfect for infiltrating the Aquanauts Base

The landscape is simple yet very effective. Together with the blue backdrop it looks marvelous. Well done! If only the photos of my MOCs were as professional as yours

The real highlight for me though are the air bubbles on the back created by the propeller - only at second glance I realized what parts they were made of!

    Chris

  4. Great job! Looks alot better than most of the vehicles we got in the official Dino Island sets (except maybe for the Island Racer and Dino Explorer, those were proper vehicles).

Always amazes me how different the Adventurers cars can look, even though most of them use the same moulded cockpit and the crate piece at the back. The bigger wheels you used and the higher rear axle as well as the detailed front make your car distinct from the others.

    Chris

  5. First of all, thanks everyone for sharing all these background infos on Time Cruisers! Very interesting stuff.

There's two things I found interesting enough to share here, I hope it will be of interest for you too.

    1. Ice Cream Promotion

The Austrian catalog of 1997 shows an ice cream promotion in cooperation with Eskimo (part of Unilever). If you collected 10 ice cream sticks you would get a key chain. The ice doesn't look much like Tim though... It's also interesting how different the Austrian and German 1997 catalogs are in regards to Time Cruisers. The German one doesn't even mention the 1996 sets, while in the Austrian three of the four are shown plus the promotion mentioned above. Maybe that has to do with the Klick magazine and the comic starting in Austria... on the other hand the Germans got the radio plays in 1996, which we didn't get :hmpf_bad:

    2. World Club Game

I have this board game from my childhood, unfortunately I can't recall from which issue of World Club Magazin it was. A board game featuring four worlds: Western, Divers, UFO and Castle (Fright Knights). Looking at the featured themes it must have come out in 1997. It's NOT this game https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?G=03096&name=LEGO Time Cruisers Board Game&category=[Game][Time Cruisers / Twisters]#T=I which was available for sale.

I don't have any more info on this, or how it is played, but I found three game cards that obviously belong to this game:

    52759865239_86131b219e_c.jpgKarten by sinister5988, auf Flickr

Tim and Ali are certainly looking weird here. Very interesting they call him Ali here, as his name was usually Ingo in Austria. The card also says Tim is one of Dr. Cyber's best friends and the leader of the Time Twisters is called Captain Spooky - anyone ever heard that name?

That's it for now... I also recently bought a whole bunch of Austrian Klick and World Club magazines from 1995 - 2001, if I find anything of interest I'll be sure to share it here with you guys!

    Chris

  6. Wow these cars are awesome! Very fitting for the Adventurers theme.

When I build Adventurers vehicles, I pretty much always use the famous moulded cockpit part (30149). But with your building techniques there's certainly a lot more flexibility. Great that it can seat three minifgures - can't think of an official Adventurers car that could do that.

Do you plan on creating instructions for these two? I'd love to build them too, especially the Scorpion Tracker.

    Chris

  7. Hi everyone,

I haven't been active here for a while, so I thought it was time for a new post :classic:

Today I would like to show you one of my MOCs that I built a few months ago. I know Time Cruisers has never really been a very popular theme, but I like the idea and thought I could improve upon the official sets...

So here it is... Dr. Cyber's infamous Mystic Mountain Time Lab!

    52689018515_bb8a97b161_c.jpg20230214_100817 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

    "Welcome to my lab!"

    52689085758_e1b5a391d6_c.jpg20230214_102609 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

Entering the lab, you find yourself in a small room, with a staircase and some closets, which is mostly used for storing various headgears from different eras (and yes, there is some money lying around, since Dr. Cyber is a crazy scientist, it has to be a bit messy )

    52689085838_3230f51cce_c.jpg20230214_102503 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

Passing through the swinging white door leads us to the heart of the building - the actual lab/workshop!

    52688593961_e6d92dc76e_c.jpg20230214_101949 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

While Dr. Cyber is doing some programming for his next time travel, Tim is working on a new engine for the Hypno Cruiser.

    52688073547_cd80de11de_c.jpg20230214_101926 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

There's a white door leading from the workshop out to the small dock in front of the house.

    52688593206_4460c44bc4_c.jpg20230214_103026 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

The tiny house with red window is, just like in the original set, a time machine of its own. The yellow hose is the power supply and can be unplugged, once the machine is done loading.

    52689018030_704df00015_c.jpg20230214_101250 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

Although in this case the house doesn't fly, but swim!

Let's go back into the main building. Walking up the black stairs we saw in the first room leads us to the first floor. Up there is a couch for Tim and Ali to chill (or in Ali's case have a nap ) and Dr. Cyber's desk with some nice outlook.

Here we'll find a telescope and some computers connected to the antenna, where Robbi the Robot is working. The trans-neon green cone turns the telescope by using gears.

I also built a heavily modified version of the Hypno Cruiser. Dr. Cyber parks it next to the lab.

Tim also hops on board. Unfortunately I don't own the windscreen parts (6070), so I had to use to seperate trans-light blue panels.

  8. Hello everyone,

I would like to share my latest Castle MOC with you:

    Majisto's Dragon Cave

This is a place where the Dragon Knights can lock up their captured Dragons and Majisto can cast spells on them to make them obedient to him and his knights. It was inspired by and is sort of a combination of the Dark Dragon's Den and Majisto's Magical Workshop.

    51901264516_eff2583549_c.jpg20220223_114358 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

At the front there is a big gate, which can be opened and closed to get the dragons in and out of the cave.

    51901355593_b1d50230d5_c.jpg20220223_114428 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

To the left of the gate there's a secret entrance to the top floor.

    51900301007_297cfa1b6b_c.jpg20220223_114553 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

Only Majisto knows how to open it!

    51900300477_8e31df6d5b_c.jpg20220223_114906(0) by sinister5988, auf Flickr

On the upper floor there's a small workshop and a little tower.

    51901264071_0892d8f3f5_c.jpg20220223_114724 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

The door underneath the tower can be opened so Majisto can cast his spells direclty onto the dragon in the cave (or you can throw some unwanted guests down into the cave )

    51900300722_44fbabdb9d_c.jpg20220223_114735 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

A smaller entrance, only big enough for humas to pass through, is located on the right side (someone needs to feed the dragons, right?).

    51901593764_921eb4de0a_c.jpg20220223_114849 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

I also built a slightly modified version of the Dragon Wagon, since it fits well with the cave. I especially didn't like the seat for the driver and also wanted to add one of those horse dragon helmets to the top of the wagon.

The Dragon Knights use the Dragon Wagon to transport their captured dragons to Majisto's Dragon Cave, where the can lock them up.

  9. 3. Yet another map...

After a few hours of driving through the desert, Gail, Doc and Johnny finally find what they were looking for. The secret tomb!

The tomb was inspired by set 5958 Mummy's Tomb.

    51858738072_916fa65f2a_c.jpg20220203_113139 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

    51860026919_475293ff4e_c.jpg20220203_113236 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

While Johnny has barely gotten out of his truck yet, Doc has already taken out his magnifying glass and starts deciphering the drawings on the statue. Gail immediately took her camera to capture their find on film.

    51859775623_a48d609688_c.jpg20220203_113607 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

Next Doc takes a closer look at the hieroglyphs on the entrance of the tomb...

    51859691506_05f621fca5_c.jpg20220203_113946 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

Meanwhile their friend Harry also arrives at the tomb, after landing his plane right next to it.

"Guess who was following me, guys! Baron von Barron was on my heels for a while, but I managed to escape him. Although I have a bad feeling that this won't be the last time we have see him..."

    51859691341_027e1d57b3_c.jpg20220203_114048 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

"Hey Doc!" Johnny says, "this small statue seems to have some sort of turning function, I think we should give it a try and see what happens."

    51860349395_ccec05a3ab_c.jpg20220203_114127 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

As Johnny turns the statue with the falcon on top, the chain attached to it causes the entrance of the tomb to slowly open.

    51858737287_1f9fc3a0d0_c.jpg20220203_114339 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

    51859691006_15d1fb115c_c.jpg20220203_114424 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

"Enough Johnny, you can stop now!" says Doc, as he starts entering the tomb.

    51858736947_1ede17b639_c.jpg20220203_114541 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

As Doc sets his first step into the tomb, a strange looking pillar suddenly starts turning...

    51860025669_679b27b0f8_c.jpg20220203_114826 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

Suprised and a litte scared by the skeleton that appeared, Doc takes a step back.

    51858736707_0c68093126_c.jpg20220203_114857 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

Well, Johnny's not afraid at all so he enters the tomb first instead of Doc Lightning.

    51859774318_9cb98843a5_c.jpg20220203_115003 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

Unfortunately, the tomb seems rather empty and no magic ruby is to be seen anywhere. "Wait, what's that at the end of the corridor?"

    51858736557_4200c06b0c_c.jpg20220203_115335 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

Johnny sees a treasure chest, which seems to big to get it out of the tomb. But wait, right behind the treasure chest is a small hole leading outside to the back of the tomb, just big enough for the chest...

    51859774103_e92fb8bce2_c.jpg20220203_115505 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

So after detaching the chest from the tomb, he pushes it out through the hole...

    51859690166_c2b76fe9ea_c.jpg20220203_115557 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

.. leaves the tomb through the front entrance and tells his fellow adventurers about his find. They walk around the tomb to the treasure chest.

    51860348315_269a3c2033_c.jpg20220203_115816 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

After they managed to break it open, it becomes clear there is no treasure inside the chest, but a map.

    51858736272_fc2ab9faae_c.jpg20220203_115902 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

While Doc is very excited and starts studying it immediately...

    51858736162_72d94fa0f6_c.jpg20220203_130233 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

...Harry leans back against the palm tree thinking "Damn, yet another map. I thought we would find some real treasure here."

    51859689826_5139b6d38f_c.jpg20220203_130316 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

As they return to the front of the tomb, they realise they were not the only ones that found the tomb. Baron von Barron and Sam Sinister had been following them, but kept a distance. They landed their plane a little further away from the tomb to secretely follow our heroes.

    51859689721_c506f6535e_c.jpg20220203_130613 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

Thankfully Johnny's got an idea. He quickly runs over to the falcon statue and turns it all the way around...

    51860024569_bdd91248e2_c.jpg20220203_130755 by sinister5988, auf Flickr

...as a result the stone statue slides all the way to the right, causing the spears on top to drop down onto Baron von Barron.

The new map our adventurers just found looks like it could lead them to some sort of Sphinx, but will they find the magic ruby there? To be continued...

As always, please let me know what you think. I would be very grateful for some feedback :classic:

You are welcome to make new threads for each new MOC if you want to :sweet:

I like the classic styling to the plane, really looks like it could be a set from Adventurers.

I considered that, but thought it would make more sense to have all MOCs in one thread since they all belong to the same continuing story. Also, if someone finds this thread at a later point in time, they can scroll through all the posts here and don't have to search the forum for the rest of the story :classic:

Glad you like the plane. Actually I use a classic style in most of my builds, it's just what appeals to me the most (I'm a big fan of 90s Lego ).

  11. 2. The search for the secret tomb begins...

In my first post I promised there would be more vehicles (and planes, to be exact) next, so here we go!

After a restful night of sleep, our four Adventurers get out ouf their comfy tent and start packing their stuff. Good morning, Johnny!

I took the design of the truck from the Indiana Jones Set 7622 and changed a few things. I cut out the tarp from thick brown paper.

Meanwhile Gail and Doc Lightning pack the rest of their stuff and load it into the smaller car.

Harry then makes his plane ready for take-off.

"Alright, I've got the map, let's go and find the secret tomb!"

    "I'm right behind you guys!"

At last Harry starts the engines of his plane and takes off into the hot desert air, following his friends.

The plane is basically the same as in Set 5948, just in different colors and a few minor changes.

After a while, Harry notices some noise behind him. "Hey! Who's following me?" I guess we all know to answer to that question.

Of course it's the evil Baron von Barron with his bi-plane.

But not only the Baron is sitting in the plane, Sam Sinister is aboard too!

This plane is obviously inspired by Set 5928, I made it a litte longer to make place for both of the villains on bord (so Sam doesn't have to walk through the hot desert )

Who will find the secret tomb first? Will the villains defeat our heros?

To be continued in the next post...

You can find a few more pictures on my Flickr Account, also some showing the truck and the two planes in more detail.

I hope you enjoyed my post. Let me know what you think, and I should be back next week with post number 3..... :classic:

Hello Chris! Welcome to Eurobricks and I hope you will enjoy yoru stay here!

Dont’ let a third Dark Age happen for sure! ;)

    Thanks for the welcome!

I certainly won't, I've been way to obsessed with Lego for the last two years and don't see that changing anytime soon

  13. Wow, thanks for the link, you did a great job on your Sphinx MOC!

You will see the Sphinx set in a modified form in one of my future posts :classic:

I too would love a revival of Adventurers, but I don't think it will happen. I'm very excited though about the rumors of possible new Indiana Jones sets coming this year. That would definately bring us a lot of useful pieces and minifgures to use for our Adventurers builds.

Ooo, that tent is in marvellous condition. Mine is rather ragged these days, I've had to substitute more recent tents! Always great to meet another fan of Adventurers who creates MOCs.

    Thanks for sharing :sweet:

I guess that's because I didn't own the Sphinx set as a kid but bought it in good used condition about ten years ago and took good care of it :classic:

I've seen some great Adventurers MOCs here and am happy to contribute now :classic:

Glad you liked my post, I'm really looking forward to making the next one.

  15. Hello everyone,

I created this topic to show a few of my creations inspired by the first wave of my all time favorite theme, Adventurers, which takes place in the desert of Egypt.

Some I would consider "real" MOCs, others are rather modifications of official sets.

I will start with the first MOC today and then post the rest here in this thread as replies (I will try to make one post a week).

    1. The Adventurers' Camp

We got a fireplace and a tent in set 5978 Sphinx Secret Surprise, so I thought I would be nice to connect those two and make a real camp for our heroes.

So after a long day of traveling through the Egyptian desert, under a palm tree prodiving shade, the four Adventurers set up their tent and created a small fireplace.

While Johnny, Harry and Gail are at the fire drinking some water and waiting for the food to be ready...

...Doc Lightning is already tired after a long day of traveling through the Egyptian desert and about to get some sleep.

After their meal, the other three follow Doc into the tent to fill up their batteries. What will the next day bring for our heroes and where will it lead them?

To be continued in the next post...

By the way, if you are wondering why they only have one car with two seats for four people - there are more vehicles coming in the next post

Let me know what you think about my first post :classic:

  16. Hello fellow Eurobricks members,

I've known about Eurobricks for a long time and came here from time to time to read. I signed up sometime last year and now I'm finally about to get active and start posting some of my MOCs.

I'm an AFOL from Austria and have already had two Dark Ages. Well, I'm not gonna let a third one happen

Themes that I'm most interested in are Adventurers (my favorite!), Castle, Pirates, Ninja and Western. I'm generally a huge fan of 90s Lego, therefore I use a similiar building style in my MOCs.

That was my short introduction, I'm now gonna head over to the Action and Adventure forum and post my first MOC.

Looking forward to the conversations here on the forum :classic:
